Newton graduate one of six BBB Scholarship recipients : comp

A Newton High School graduate is one of six local high school graduates to receive a Better Business Bureau of Southeast Texas and BBB Consumer Education Foundation Scholarship.
Candace Carver-Brooks serves as Marketing & Events Director for the consumer advocate group and she announced Wednesday that Hannah Peacock, of Newton, will receive a $2,500.00 scholarship.
Hannah was the 2021 Newton High School Valedictorian and she’s now headed for Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches where she’ll pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She also plans to move on to Baylor University to complete her BSN.
Hannah is already in the medical field; she’s been a nurse’s aide since the spring of 2020 and she assisted in a local nursing home during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic.
