Nashville police: Baby dies after mother's fatal shooting, C-section View Comments A newborn baby is dead after spending two weeks in "extremely critical" condition following her mother's shooting, Nashville police said. Laquisha Terrell, 23, was shot in the chest, abdomen and legs on April 28 and died Tuesday, the Metro Nashville Police Department reported. Her baby girl was delivered by emergency C-section shortly after the shooting. Terrell's boyfriend, 28-year-old Michael Stewart, was also shot, MNPD said. He is now recovering at home. Police arrested Terrell's ex-boyfriend, Brian T. Mitchell, 23, on April 29. Mitchell faces both criminal homicide and attempted homicide charges, records show. MNPD said it will upgrade an attempted homicide charge in relation to the baby to a homicide charge.
