STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Not so fast on driving to the Mall to score locally harvested food this Saturday. What was supposed to be the first Greenmarket appearance in the New Springville location has been cancelled as the anticipated farmers will not be attending.
A rep from GrowNYC said two producers originally were committed to coming this Saturday — The Orchards of Concklin and Ol’ Mother Hubbert. She added that the hope is for better luck next week on the official start of the market for the 2021 season.
