Roman Requeña As the weekend was about to break on Friday, April 16, there was a late afternoon shooting in Belize City. It took place on Magazine Road when Roman Requeña, 39, was shot and killed. The Mahogany Heights resident was inside a yard located at the corner of Magazine Road and Logwood Street at around 3:30 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown gunman. That person immediately opened fire and Requeña sustained multiple injuries to his body. Investigators arrived on scene and his body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but pronounced dead. Police are working to determine what exactly transpired and who would want Requeña dead, but have no clue into this investigation. According to his mother, Requeña was a laborer and the home where he was murdered was somewhere they all lived as a family. The police believe that he was in fact the intended target in this murder but have no suspects.
