Lima council approves tax abatement for Ohio Theatre By Sam Shriver - [email protected] LIMA — The new owner of the Ohio Theatre is getting a tax break, thanks to Lima City Council. On Monday night, the council approved a 12 year 50% property tax abatement for the property at 122 W. North St. in Lima. The new owner, PLAYWITHYOURFOOD LLC, wants to invest $845,000 to renovate the Ohio Theatre and make it into a dinner theater venue, bakery/cafe, catering venue and bar. Repairs are needed to the roof, plaster, paint, carpeting and fabrics. New electrical, plumbing and gas lines will also be needed, and the HVAC system will need upgraded. A commercial kitchen will also need to be built.
