It happened at around 5 30, this morning, at fourth and lombard street. Police say an s. U. V. Hit bump and lost control, then slammed into a tree, and then flipped on it side. Investigators say, the 21 year old driver was ejected and died after being crushed by the car. Three other people were in that car but they were not injured. Also, new this morning, in the somerdale section, Philadelphia Police are searching for the person who shot a man in a back, the Victim Told Police he was walking down the sidewalk on somerdale street near robbins avenue when someone came up from behind and shot him just before midnight. He was taken to einstein hospital. He is expected to survive. The shooter, though, still remains at large. And, this morning, philadelphia fire investigators looking for the cause of a fire that tore through several amounts in a restaurant, near the intersection broad and huntington street in north philadelphia. Surely after 1 00 a. M. , fire crews respond today a call of flames on the second floor of the 3story structure, were told the apartment was empty, where the fire started, two people were evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Well, happening today, the town of ferguson, missouri marks one year since the shooting of Michael Brown. Yesterday, hundreds marched through the town led by browns father michael. The shooting of the unarmed black 18 year old, by white Police Officer, darren wilson, sparked violent demonstrations across the country. Browns controversial death gave birth to the black lives matter movement. Later today a march is planned that will start at the site of the brown shooting and finish at a local church. A Deadly Police involved shooting is now being investigated by the f. B. I. In texas. Friday morning, Rookie Police officer brad miller shot and killed 19 year old Christian Taylor during a burglary call at a car dealership. According to reports, taylor was unarmed at the time of the shooting. In Arlington Police Department Spokesman says that taylor was uncooperative after crashing his jeep through the front glass of the dealership during that encounter. As officers stood outside the building they made verbal contact with mr. Taylor through the glass wall, instructing him to lie on the ground. Mr. Taylor was not compliant. The officer has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation takes place, family members describe taylor as a good kid, and dont believe that he was trying to commit a crime. And police are investigating a deadly shooting in north philadelphia. Detective say a 46 year old man was shot in the chest, at allegheny avenue and e street around 2 30 in the afternoon, he died at Temple University hospital. Two other were wounded, one of them, 59 year old man, search is on for the gunman this morning. And, were learning more about deadly stabbing in mayfair early saturday, police say it happened after a 21 year old man tried flagging down a driver, who was going the wrong way on revere street. Police say the man slowed down, the car slowed down, and a man got out of that vehicle and stabbed the 21 year old in the chest. Suspect then got back in the car, and fled the scene. Police are still looking for the suspect. Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane was fingerprinted and arraigned this weekend at the Montgomery County courthouse. Eyewitness News Reporter alexandria huff was there as kane turned herself in. The weekend crowd in norristown strayed from the norm. As state attorney general, Kathleen Kane, was met by media, and a handful of wellwishers. Good luck, miss kane. But that small smile fell flat. Once inside the Montgomery County detective bureau. As it is looking through the other end of the lens, cane arraigned under the same conditions as though she spent her career prosecuting. She went through the series of things we have to do with processing, with fingerprints, and mugshots, things like that. This is a sad day for the citizens of pennsylvania. The same sentiment twice in one week. Thursday, kane was formally charged with crimes, including obstruction, and perjury, which is a felony. The alleged leak of protected grand jury information, that was later published in the philadelphia daily news. Prosecutors believe that this was an act of retaliation against former colleagues that kane believe dement her bad press in the month prior. After a video meeting with the district judge, kane was even more sure to avoid comment, but attorney spoke out against thursdays allegations. It leaves out players t leaves out communications, it is really only very small part of the story. It is not uncommon in a criminal case. And we expect that as time goes on, a greet deal more will come to light. Back on april 13th, 2 year old david, and his mother, were struck by a hitandrun driver, at the intersection of mascher street and lehigh avenue. The mother survived, but young david died several days later. To date, no one has been arrested or charged with the crime. The family says, it is holding the event tonight, to ensure justice for david. Town of ferguson, shooting every Michael Brown, day where the eyes of the nation will focus yet again on the small mid western town. Well, todd, the shooting of Michael Brown, the un arm black 18 year old, by white Police Officer, darren wilson, sparked many violent demonstrations, across the country, and around the world. Yesterday, several hundred people marched through the town led by browns father. , if personally a lost, but a lot of good came out of my son and pushed because he is still right here with us. Surrounded by family members, Michael Brown, senior, lay teddy bears at the spot where his 18 year old son was killed, a year ago, in ferguson, missouri. They wore shirt bearing Michael Brown juniors picture, and the words chosen for change. The brown family then led a four and a half mile march to the high school where the teen had graduated. Hundreds took part, walking along areas, where violence and looting rocked the community, and the weeks and months following browns death. The white Police Officer responsible was cleared of any wrongdoing. In the year since browns killing, the city of ferguson has started making changes. Officials hired an interim police chief who was black, and overhauled it municipal courtesies tell. The department of justin found that it had unfairly targeted blacks, and minorities, still, many marchers say, there is a reason to protest. We dont believe things like this should happen in america. Nineteen year old Zachary Hammonds shot to death late last month during marijuana bus. Police say hammond accelerated his karat officer but hammonds family says the teenager was actually slot from behind. Seneca police have declined to release dash cam video of the incident. Woman shot by washington dc Police Officer, at the scene of a fire saturday evening. A warning some people might finds this video upsetting, witness captured the encounter camera phone, prior to the gun discharging you see the woman who was armed with knives moving toward the officer. Police say he shot her once, after refusing orders to drop them. But eyewitnesses say, she was not a threat. Knife in her hand, and like i say, she was no threat to the police. Like she was going toward him, or she was like threatening him or nothing. So she had the knife. She was walking toward him, but she stopped. Well the woman was taken to a local hospital where she was listed and report in the stable condition. The latest effort to honor a fallen Philadelphia Police officer get a major boost, a special basketball tournament was held at Cobbs Creek Park at 61st and baltimore. The community there has launched a campaign to name the Basketball Court there in memory of Sergeant Robert wilson. Supporters signed petitions, Sergeant Wilson was killed during a robbery, in north philadelphia, in march. And, Delaware County is rallying around a 12 year old recently diagnosed with leukemia. Fifty teens participate in the Wiffle Ball Tournament to benefit luke. The fundraiser was held at father nal fields in woodland, historiedly baseball teammates and others played 20 two, 20 minute games. He was diagnosissed when leukemia in june and grateful for the support that hes been getting. Stay strong, stay tough, like you can get through this, no problems. And that youre one of the strongest kids that they know and that i can get through this no matter what. Well, luke has not played baseball since diagnosed and hes anxious to get back on the field.
