triple digits again. >> yeah, not only triple digits, which is actually kind of ordinary in the bay area it seems like now, but when talking about 110 degrees, that's bringing it to a new level, and that will be the casethe highs for this afternoon. actually fairly nice ting to wa up inland. upper 90s out towaupper 60s this afternoon. here we go with the extreme heat. just kind of trying to put this in context. ordinary hot day inland, maybe 97 to 102 degrees. significant 102 to 105, and look what could be happening sunday, 105 so 110 degrees, and so as a result we have that excessive heat warning in place. so sunday will be the hottest day of the weekend. tomorrow will be hot, but the real dangerous heat moves on the sunday forecast, and that's kind of the eventual temperature rage on sunday. all of the areas in red. that is an excessive read warning. a heat advisory for all of grac forecast high forks tomorrow, and as we go ahead here, we're showing you the table here on this sunday, temperatures peak on sunday, but monday on labor day will not bring much relief as well. we'll take more about this intense heat wave for portions of the bay area, and that fire weather watch trafficking case. as ann rubin explains, they believe man from sunnyvale was using snapchat to meet young girls for sex, including a 15- year-old girl who was brought here from arizona. >> reporter: authorities ed age girls to the bay area for sex. his wife alert mountain view police. >> she was concerned because she had reason to believe that he had contacted an underage female, and had picked her up from arizona. >> reporter: as it turns out, the firm was 15. police found her and watson at the mountain view target. she said the two met on snapchat, which led to a lot of questions. >> how far was he willing to take this? >> reporter: a preliminary investigation found watson had allegedly had contact with a dozen other potential victims on snapchat, often possessing as a 16 or 17-year-old himself. according to the south bay coalition to end human trafficking, this is why parents need to pay attention. >> law enforcement is reporting that they are seeing an increased use of on-line grooming techniques, and so that is of kevin. >> knowing who your kids are talking to, and being very candid with kids about how there are people out there that are potentially exploiters and mountain view police. ann rubin, ktvu fox 2 news. well, in bay area weather as we head into the weekend,s the big weather headline is significant heat-up headed our way, especially on sunday. temperatures in a few neighbor looks like will be right around 110 degrees. today it's actually nice to be outside. temperature is not excessively hot just yet. we'll show you some of the graphics and highs from this afternoon. and everybody has an up arrow for tomorrow. so as we can show you here, we'll bring up the projected highs for your saturday. santa rosa from 92 to 100 degrees. san francisco on good 10 degrees. livermore to 105, and so heat really builds in tomorrow, but unfortunately this is not the peak of the heat in your saturday forecast. so that hot holiday weekend, these temperatures are primarily targeting the sunday forecast highs. the hottest day will be on sunday with an excessive heat warning. fire danger will be on the increase because it is so hot and try. but unfortunately we watch for winds develop big monday evening into tuesday, that could boost the fire danger. so to the north bay and east bay hills, we do have a fire weather watch that could officer. the man was initially a bike without a light. our crime reporter henry lee has more on the settlement. >> reporter: the city of vallejo is paying $5.7 million to the parents and two children of ronell foster. his family sued after he was shot and killed by an officer back in 2018. it's within of the largest payouts for alleged police misconduct in vallejo where officer have shot and killed 17 people in the past decade. >> shots fired 415 carolina street. >> reporter: officer ryan mcmahon had tried to stop foster for riding a bike at night without a light. the video shows the two struggling before mcmahon shot and killed him. solano county's z failed to charge the officer. account the attorney for foster's family spoke to us. >> shot a man who was try fog leave in the back of the head. he created the entire environment. so for him this is really conduct. >> reporter: but then interim chief joe alio did criticize mcmahon. in a separate case, mcmahon was one of six officers who shot and killed willie mccoy last year. mccoy was asleep in a car in the drive-through of a taco bell with a load gun in his lap. again, the department did not fault the shooting itself. instead the chief said that mcmahon should be terminated for firing a shot while another officer was about to be in the line of fire. >> it's all aafrica. near trying to make it look as if they're a responsible police agency, as if they're investigating these obviously wrong shootings. >> reporter: the willie mccoy shooting is being investigated by a former d.a. from southern california. officer mcmahon is on paid leave. >> this is an officer they knew had real aggressive problems, you know. he's what they call a cowboy cop. unfortunately they have a whole force of these guys. >> reporter: vallejo is on the hook for $5in the ronell foster case. the rest will be give an insurance pool. in a statement, the city would only say that the settlement is not an admission of liability. madison reports, there has been a subtle shift in the mood change since the state has now put san francisco from to the purple tier to red tier. >> reporter: once again, warm temperatures are in the forecast, and if labor day weekend is like other warm weekends this past summer, san francisco is going to be a hotbed of activity. while many will be heading back to the beaches, other parts of the city will be seeing visitors as well. north beach is preparing for its first first friday in months. the first friday of the month streets are shut down, and businesses and restaurants open their doors, welcoming visitors. tony from kabul fine tribal rugs said it has been slow since covid-19 hit. she hopeful first friday will boost his business. >> restaurants are okay, but for us, retail, we're hardly open, because there's no foot traffic. so maybe this first friday will help. >> reporter: supervisor aaron peskin oversees north beach and said first friday is an indication that things may be returning to some semblance of normal. >> you can just see people are happier that are able to, you know, together, or be, you know, six fight apart. >> reporter: san francisco started the week by moving off the state's highest risk tier of coronavirus. meaning more businesses can open, and the city is beginning to lock at how to reopen schools. many say they are seeing a subtle change. more hope than just a few weeks ago. in hayes valley, that means more visitors. >> people are coming to the neighborhood, almost as much as it was before. like if you're here on a friday night or thursday night, even saturday, very crowded neighborhood. the neighborhood is very packed. >> restaurants like pachi's pizza say they are starting to see a shift as well. >> i think i'm seeing a lot more people, the past couple of days, have seen a lot more people on the streets going out. everyone is still wearing their masks still, so rear we'reful. >> reporter: the climate of metro said people are starting to plan their next steps. so following the rules are critical going forward. a step backward could disastrous. >> so it's going to a big test for folks. if we have a thirtied you break, the economy will tall again, and it will be devastating for small businesses. . >> reporter: with schools closed and dids at home, many parents can't return to the workplace. san francisco is hoping to have some schools reopened as early as the in mind, san francisco is launching a new campaign urging everyone in to wear a face covering, especially for this labor day weekend. mayor london breed attended a thousand-mask giveaway at noon. it was a joint effort with other organizations at dough lores park on church and 20th streets, including the hash tag mask the sf up. you will see this on is all of us doing our part so that we can get blic health experts say in 80% of residents in the the city of has announced a beach closure emergency for labor day weekend. beaches will be off limits, or limited in capacity in terms of allowing people on the beach starting at 5:00 a.m. on saturday through 5:00 p.m. on monday the 7th. officials are trying to lift the spread of covid-19. during the closure, people are allowed to cross the sand to get to the water. all water sports are permitted, and officials are making an exception to be on the beach for two hours saturday and sunday between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. well, the central coast is also locking down its beaches for the holiday weekend, and water activities will be allowed, but they're going to be strict economy is closely monitored by police. >> reporter: the decision to close beaches over the holiday weekend was not made lightly, and and it has many locals and visitors angry. >> yes, honestly we're know that all of this is a lie, you know, it's a pandemic. >> reporter: but city leaders say the threat of covid-19 is very real, and they worry sweltering heat in combination with labor day weekend was a recipe for overcrowded beaches. >> the pandemic is real, the pandemic still exists, and unfortunately we have to have no choice but to close our beaches for this weekend. >> reporter: tourists already in town from the central valley say they came to monthry to escape triple-digit heat, and just wanted to put their toes in the water. >> i think there could somebody access to the beaches, i really do. >> reporter: constitutes have been under a lot of pressure to enforce the will be making sure those access toes does not just dipping their toe into the water, that will still result in overcrowding, and could result in the spread of covid-19. >> and again, that was caitlin conrad reporting. it's not just the beaches that are going to be closed. the 17-mile drive at pebble peach that is popular will be closed as well. the tahoe basin has seen a record number of tourist this past few months. now, distance learning and remote working means people can be just about anywhere. so businesses near lake tahoe are wondering in the usual post labor day slowdown will actually even happen this year. the tahoe area was closed to tourists early in the pandemic. that hurt local businesses that rely on that living at home than they have for decades. the number of 18 to 29-year- olds who have moved back home is the highest it's been since the great depression. 52% of young adults were living with one or both parents in july. that's more than 26 million people. the highest previous number was 48%. this was way back in 1940. the current increase inclusion all racial and ethnic groups and genders, and
