The county had issued a statement saying the state recently issued guidance and clarification on Outdoor Dining is not permitted in non variance counties. At this time, Outdoor Dining and outdoor zoo operations would be permitted in Alameda County upon variance approval. Even with the monitoring county restrictions in place. The board of supervisors is expected to vote on the letter in support of getting a virus variance at tomorrows meeting. But in the meantime, alameda is the only county without a variance from the state and four of those cities are not going to wait until they get one. City leaders in oakland, livermore, dublin and hayward say that for now theyre not going to enforce the revised ban on outdoor food service. Pleasanton city mayor indicated his city would follow livermore and dublin. There waiting to see what happens at tomorrows meeting before making any further decisions. Tumor inmates at San Quentin State Prison have died from covid19. The two inmates died at a hospital on saturday. So far nine inmates have died from the virus there at the prison located in marin county. San quentin house is about 3300 prisoners. Right now 1469 of them are in fact did. Thats about 44 of the entire inmate population and san quentin. The outbreak started just about a month ago after 100 inmates from prison in San Bernardino county were transferred to san quentin. State leaders are getting mixed reactions to a plan to possibly release up to eight thousand inmates, all to help stop the spread of covid19. Those inmates would be released between now and the end of next month under the governors new program. Those with with 180 days or less on their sentence would be eligible first and only inmates who have committed nonviolent crimes nullify. Family members are counting down the days until her loved ones are released, but victim advocates called the plan dangerous. Elder abuse, certain sexual offenses, all these really horrible crimes are no longer serious and violent and that is where that definition is and that is who is being released. They are not safe in there. They are not being fed properly. Theyre not social distancing. They cannot. The plan comes as prisons, not to san quentin across the state testing large outbreaks. California is a experiencing its first drop in hospitalizations and more than three weeks. The latest numbers from Public Health officials show that many of the states covid19 deaths are connected to nursing homes. Roughly 40 of californias 7000 as are treated to outbreaks at Skilled Nursings facilities. They recently issued guidance for business to resume but many are reopening to visitors as infection rates continue to search in california. And seven of the bay areas nine counties are now on this dates watchlist. Alameda was added over the weekend. San francisco and san mateo are the only bay area counties that are not being monitored by the state.
