am. let's go back to the desk. new this morning, police in san mateo are in the scene of a deadly car crash that was linked to a attempted home robbery. >> reporter: good morning to you. we can tell you that this is a car crash that happened right off of 10 wanted therefore airport boulevard. i'll supposedly see you can see the crime scene behind us. this is a crime scene because one person has died and two others have been hurt. san mateo police confirm that last half hour. they crashed head-on at the cement barrier at the head of airport bully or airport bovard. this crash happened just before 4:00 this morning. our crews arrived shortly after. we are not quite sure on the events leading up to the crash, but san mateo police believe this suv is one of two cars linked to an attempted home invasion. i believe that we have a camera bringing you live images from that scene. now, san mateo police say they attempted home invasion happened at a house on 1600 block of roberta drive. that is right near the 92 and 101 interchange. spec we responded to the scene, and then we saw some vehicles leaving. i tried to catch up to them, and then chp notified us of a single vehicle collision here. we came back here and found chp dealing with this collision. >> san mateo police believe have their traffic unit investigating the car crash. detectives are investigating the attempted home
