Well, here in santa rosa, the Investigation Continues into an Early Morning pursuit and shooting that has left 4 deputies injured. And one suspect that according to the Sonoma CountySheriffs Office just after midnight monday, deputies responded to reports of a person brandishing a rifle in an unincorporated area of west santa rosa. When deputies arrived on scene, the suspect fled in a vehicle. Deputies pursued according to the Sheriffs Office. At one point, the suspect a man stopped and fired multiple shots at the deputies. They returned fire. 4 deputies were injured. One was shot in the leg. 2 other suffered hand injuries and the 4th was shot in the head following the exchange of gunfire. The suspect drove away and crashed his vehicle a short time later near stoney point road between bellevue avenue and todd road in west santa rosa. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene at this point. Its unclear if he died from the crash or if he was injured in the exchange of gunfire. Several Sheriffs Office vehicles were also damaged during the pursuit at last check, the deputy shot in the head was at the hospital in critical but stable condition. As you can imagine.
