So its just kind of a local phenomena, right at the surface level. Its not so much whats going on a lot with all of this. So with all of that in place, we have a dense fog advisory covering the coast. San francisco also up in the north. Its hard to make out there a little bit now that chunk up there up to the north bay. The niners are coming off a dominant victory over the cowboys last week. This is the best record San Francisco has had since the start of the 2019 season. But the niners know it wont be easy. The browns of one of the top defenses in the league. They do a great job with i feel like just getting after offensive line and pushing them back and getting up on the quarterbacks toes, you know, sort of push the quarterback off balance with just being in rhythm for a play. So theyre great job with that. Watch the film. You know, its like all right. Weve got another another great challenge in front of us this week with these guys. So i think one of the bestknown the league and really talented group so excited to go in some. The niners have won 15 straight regular season games dating back to october. 30th of last year and quarterback brock purdy has never lost a regular season game kickoff for the game against the browns is set for 10 oclock this morning in cleveland. Coming up on the kron 4 morning news warning signs now posted after a possible shark attack at a bay area beach. The Community Reaction up next. Plus, an Invasive Species of snail found near a bay area lake. Well, experts say these tiny creatures are so dangerous. And after the break, a new book takes a look back at the most powerful earthquake ever reported here in the bay area. The awardwinning author joins us live in studio. And starting things off with quite a bit of ground fog that we have to spot all over the bay warming up. As you can see, we get into the afternoon clearing those skies up for just about everybody as we see those lower 80s return. Look at that forecast from here in the on the kron. 4 morning the on the kron. 4 morning news continues. My late fatherinlaw lit up a room, but his vision dimmed with age. He had amd. I didnt know it then, but it can progress to ga, an advanced form of the disease. His struggle with vision loss from amd made me want to help you see warning signs of ga. Like Straight Lines that seem wavy, blurry, or missing visual spots that make it hard to see faces like this one, or trouble with low light that makes driving at night a real challenge. If youve been diagnosed with amd and notice vision changes, dont wait. Ga is irreversible. Its important to catch it early. Talk to your eye doctor about ga and learn more at gawontwait. Com looking live now at walnut creek, where not too much traffic out there at 7. 13, this morning, looking a bit chilly, though, today. What are you keeping an eye on it . Well, its that ground fog we have this morning. Good morning, stephanie. Good morning, everybody. This is the leftover moisture that weve had from this, you know, kind of nothing burger, but that moisture still at the surface. This is all good. This is all fire it hard. And so well take it begin october like this and a little bit of an inconvenience. But this afternoon because its fairly clear aloft. Were going back to mostly sunny mode for your afternoon. So get some time for this to work its magic. This shot here east bay shoreline. Its all covered up right now. But you get the general idea of the fog in place. Temperature check for you. Weve got a lot of 50s in the east bay, 60 for hayward up to the north bay hodge podge of 50s and 60s. 61 for San Franciscos those pointing out early, though, regardless what you think of these numbers, its actually a little cooler this morning that we had from yesterday morning. By contrast with that, even though we have this moisture of the fog, sometimes anytime we get moisture in the sometimes its a climate control. So heres the real deal. The front out towards our west. The cloud maker here. Its going take a breather today. So that means mostly sunny. So this afternoon, were looking good on that front. But no pun intended. But as we go into monday, well see a lot more cloud cover and going get tuesday or completely gets to the entire wash and we go back to the mostly sunny mode and we see a little warm up phase 4, the balance of your week. Lets go to future cast for you can see the clear up shop here. There are a couple little pesky spots here. So along the coast, you might have some trouble getting rid of this fog entirely for today and around the golden gate. Thats usually a tough area to clear out. It comes back again to greet you for your monday morning. Here with again. Thats typical that addiction fog situation. Here comes our front. You can kind of see the moisture part of it fall apart as we get into monday morning. So as we go forward, it looks less and less likely will get anything we can really measure from that. Just the cloud cover cooler temps, little bit a wind spurt with a 2, but thats all she wrote pretty much so pesky fog around the bay area, clearing in the afternoon. Lower 80s now for highs inland 70s cover the bay early week. Its this variable cloudy Business School on your monday recovering tuesday, 70s and 80s well inland midweek to late week. Now its sunny and warming away. We go lower 90s for high temperatures. So not quite a heat spike, but really moving up those numbers here that will be far inland. Those temperatures. Okay. Weve got 71 San Francisco morning fog afternoon clearing 74 oakland. 82 for san jose. In the big board here you have. But we have the oranges. We broke out now for this lower 80s in the far east bay up to the north bay, mostly upper 70s next couple of days. Here you have it. 78 by monday with the cloud cover still lingering on tuesday. More of this on the sevenday forecast in a bit as long as your 4 zone, stephanie. All right, dave, thank you. A new book takes us back and times in 19, 0, 6, when a powerful, devastating 7. 9 magnitude earthquake struck San Francisco to this day. Its still the strongest quake ever recorded in the bay area. Joining me live now to discuss is award matthew j. Davenport is the mine behind the longest minute, the great San Francisco earthquake and fire of 19. 0, 6. Good morning to you. Good morning, stephanie. Thank you for having. Absolutely. Its a pleasure to have you here. And i had a chance to read the book. Its incredible. Congratulations to you on another great piece of work so what our viewers through what they can expect with the book . Us through the story here. Well, the facts about the 19, 0, 6, earthquake and fire are generally widely known. 28,000 buildings, homes, businesses, churches, schools, libraries, reduced to ash heaps and rubble. Approximately a quarter Million People more than half the citys population at the time made homeless and more than 3,000 People Killed at no other time in our nations history was a major american city. So completely destroyed april 19, 0, 6, but we live in a time removed from that 19. 0, 6 survivors are no longer with us. Theyve all passed and so we see it kind of in hazy mirage of the past and trapped in you know, black and white photographs, right . It happened to them in living color. So i wanted to go back into the archives and look at their experiences and piece it together to tell the story as it happened to them. Really pay such a vivid picture of that period of time. Its quite impressive. I learn a number of things about San Francisco that i didnt even know about. I live in the city and im from the bay area. You know, youre so meticulous in your research. Tell us about that process. You found documentation that head really never been dug up for mentioned before another and other works. Thats right. I went into the archives, San FranciscoPublic Library and the California Historical society. Chinese historical site found. Letters, diaries, memoirs of people. Many of them had not been consulted before, but then in the National Archives in san bruno, i found that transcripts trials, there was a lot of litigation followed this in the months and years following the disaster and has the verbatim transcripts of eyewitness testimony of hundreds of eyewitnesses telling about what they saw felt and heard during the earthquake and where and how individual fires started and how they spread and added so much living color to the event. Yeah, its really remarkable. Again, just how meticulous you were with really surfacing. All of that really kind of hidden information. It almost feels like can you describe why you chose to focus on this particular earthquake and fire given the number of Natural Disasters that, you know, happened in california and throughout the country. What struck me about this is nothing beyond the earthquake itself was inevitable. Earthquake was the only natural part of this disaster. Everything that followed. The threeday firestorm hundreds and thousands of People Killed. A quarter million made homeless. Thats mans work. And so it was it was going back in to city records. I was intrigued. How does this happen . How does a Natural Disaster lead to such a natural devastation . And so it was going in to city records of of men in charge, deciding to choose to choose for the profit of developers and a private Water Company over the safety of its residents. And it left so many of them vulnerable. So when the earth moved, their fate was and, you know, history often does repeat itself. Do you think there are any lessons . You know, from what happened back at that time in 19. 0, 6, that People Living in San Francisco today can take away. Well, thankfully the lessons have been learned by Emergency Management professionals and First Responders that work every day to make sure that while another earthquake will strike that scientifically inevitable. That another 19, 0, 6, happen here again. Okay. So that is thats thats some good today. Was there anything that really that stood out to you during a research for this book about San Francisco that you think would be interesting for people to really Pay Attention to the next and theyre visiting the city. How much the face of the city was affected by when you when you visit the city. When you look at nearly 5 square miles, 500 city blocks that were destroyed, reduced to ash heap rubble. When you come to the city, now you see whole sections of the city downtown no buildings, prix de 19. 0, 6, and you can also see where the firefighters stopped the fire. And this one of the myths that i really wanted to dispel here that firefighters were not helpless. The Fire Department firefighters work 3 days and nights to stop the fire and save the rest of the city down in the mission and up fishermans wharf. So we have a lot preserved history. Yeah, just if there really is so much wonderful history in the city of San Francisco. And i think because it is such a transit city nowadays, people can oftentimes forget that that there is a lot to uncover and discover. And i understand that your book releases pretty soon tell people so people about where they can find it. Well, it will be in bookstores on this coming tuesday, october 17th. Okay. And any bookstore, amazon or mcmillan Saint Martins press. Okay. Wonderful in last quick question here for whats the key takeaway that youre hoping readers walk away with . That earthquakes are inevitable. This kind of devastation is not. And thankfully this city is. And and the the bay area of learned that lesson and hopefully the rest of the world. All right. Matthew davenport, author of the longest minute, the great San Francisco earthquake and fire of 19. 0, 6, the book is releasing october 17. Thank you so much for joining us. What are you keeping an eye well, good morning, stephanie. Good morning, everybody. And a lot of this ground fog were dealing with today. We had all surface moisture just didnt have anywhere to go kind of being compressed a little bit from air aloft. For what weve got going on today, its an improving forecast there. You can see a with all that brightness you see at the very top of the banner there. Thats what our future is. As soon as it takes care of the surface moisture. Now, as we take a look at the satellite picture, you will see the real intrusion doesnt get here till tomorrow and into tuesday. So were pretty much smooth sailing for today. Its going to look more like saturday a bit on your monday at that point Temperature Check for most readings in the middle to upper 50s some lower 60s and there. And that is actually a little cooler than what were seeing from yesterday. Heres a contrast. Negative numbers across the board there, although we are catching up in a couple Little Pockets there. The breakdown today, weve got 69 going on 11 00am by 2 at 79 spicy, some lower 80s there today. But building to some lower 90s by the middle to latter portion of the have that longer range forecast. All right, taking a live look now at the Golden Gate Bridge where wow, it is looking pretty foggy out there. I mean, is that even that is that theyre going do . We i mean, stephanie, so, you fortunately the a reminder for people who are planning to head out in that direction to please trouble carefully. And they probably do not want to have those. They do not want to have those headlights up have also signs, too, that are telling the dense fog up ahead to get because it yes, we get fog a lot, but its dense and on the ground, too, by the way, want to swing things around Half Moon Bay notice right along the coast. Not too bad by that standard. As you just saw at the golden gate and look on here left, you can see some brightness starting to poke out there a little bit to darkness over here. Brightness over here. Make your own for all of that. All right. Temperature check for you. Mostly upper 50s at work here. Some lower 60s scratching hold. 63. Meanwhile for san jose and headed up to tahoe some cloud and true it intrusion tomorrow then for tuesday and wednesday to go climbing through the 70s art. Together. 71 for San Francisco today. Once we get that son cooking here, 60s out towards the coast. 75 for burlingame. Were looking at 66 foster city, 79 palo alto, the south bay, lower 80s morgan hill, 85 east bay shoreline, upper 70s lower 80s off to tri valley. 83 for walnut creek, 70 for berkeley. Little bit of contrast going here. So that shows things will open up here 70 for vallejo. 81 fairfield, 77 for napa and santa rosa. Checking in at 78 coastal number. Still hang in in the 60s. Now as we take a look at the forecast ahead, the early part of the week. Thats the intrusion from the front. We warm up briefly and then cool back down again as obviously a front as i pointed out to before came blasting through. Thats going to also bring in some cooler temperatures. And there is that risk of maybe a little peppering of some light rain showers and its kind of a no just enough to dirty up the car. But remember all of this, its fire retardant that says this time of year, we really needed one swing of the wet season. Its kind of a nuisance. But right now we need to hang around. So we havent. Yeah, i need to correct myself earlier, i said no headlights when you cross the bridge we need yeah. So make sure you have your headlights on. Everybody see him on the yeah. High beans are no, no. Yeah. All right. Thank you so much, dave. All right. Before your next trip overseas, there are some cheap ways to stay connected that you may not know about. Well, happening in less than 2 hours, the San Francisco fortyniners look to stay undefeated. When they take on the cleveland browns, the niners are coming off a dominant victory over the cowboys last week. This is the best record San Francisco has had since the start of the 2019 season. But the niners know it will be r easy. The browns have one of the top defenses in the league. They do a great job with i feel i just getting after the offensive line and pushing them back and getting up on the quarterbacks toes, you know, sort of pushing the quarterback off balance with just being in rhythm for a play. So theyre great job with that. Watch the film. You know, its like all right. Weve got another another great challenge in front of us this week with these guys. So i think one of the bestknown the league and really talented group so excited to go into. The niners have won 15 straight regular season games dating back to october. 30th of last year. Quarterback brock purdy has never lost a regular season game kickoff against the browns is set for 10 this morning in cleveland. And after the break, a new book takes a look back at the most powerful earthquake ever recorded here in the bay area. We spoke with the awardwinning off there in our last hour and well bring you some statements in this hour. And were still battling some of that ground fog thats going to way to some scattered clouds as we start to get to the mid to latter morning here as we switch over to mostly sunny for your afternoon. A pretty sweet sunday coming your way. We do have some intrusion of cloud cover early in the week, but warming up towards the lateral. Put it all together for you keep it here. Welcome back to kron. 4 morning news. Good morning, everybody. And look, he here got some blue skies trying to work its magic here. The fog at the lower levels. This was very much of a lower level fog situation going on here because we had all that service moisture. Got squeezed a little bit overnight cooling because aloft you have the radiational cooling. So our temperatures were able to fall a little bit. Even with all the surface moisture temperature wise, how we do one, not a whole lot of movement, obviously, as we have to kind of clear things out a bit. But were around 60 upper 50s at that. Not too bad for this year, but its a little cooler than it was yesterday will make up for it. This afternoon, though, 54 Half Moon Bay. Thats obviously a spot where the fog its strapped a bit. 64 San Francisco and weve been monitoring san jose excuse me, 60 per San Francisco in honoring the Golden Gate Bridge this morning was really kind of socked in with the fog thats choose the of fog trap because thats where it comes in off the coast. And now it has so makes its way out, particularly aloft as were waiting to happen now upstream. Yes, we do have some real whether players here this front, its going to take it until tomorrow and into early tuesday. Tiffany play itself out. Its kind of a nothing in terms of any real rain with it. My drive a little bit away, breezy conditions, but kind of expect your monday to be similar to what saturday was like. You know, a lot of pesky cloud cover around, but well see the skies open up here. And there. Lets watch future cast for whats going on today. We do the mixing process goodbye. Go out to see their get the sun its thing. But there are some stubborn areas to make note of and probably some scattered clouds will stay in the skies a little bit across the bay. Then tonight we see the fog come back again for your monday morning. Pretty aggressive and coverage here, both here in also in monterey bay. But then we see the cloud cover march on afterwards. As we get into the afternoon. So we might have that little moment of some sun early afternoon before the clouds aloft roll in and that will play through monday night and even a little bit into tuesday until the front really is playing out towards our north. Were just getting that marine layer kind of squished up a little bit when it makes us true version. Okay. Pesky fog for today. You can actually get the progress of that mixing. Got the blue skies aloft ground moisture. Theyre all kind of trapped at the bay clearing afternoons by the fairest way of phrasing. And even though well see some clearing in the late Morning Hours, lower 80s inland, which is warmer than yesterday, 70s for the bay early in the week. We have to deal with this front. The variable clouds leftover cool on your moyday warming of the tuesday, but we hit the high gear mid to latter portion of the week. We do mean warming back to the lower 90s. It looks like inland and it doesnt look like kind of a runaway train that went push the middle to upper 90s. Sometimes that can happen hide its position. Just exactly right. But we dont see heat spike with all that. Just a warming bump here for today. 71 San Francisco got the morning fog. No kidding. Afternoon, clearing 74 for oakland afternoon, clearing as well and san jose are going to come in about an 82 sunny and a pretty good day today because theyre not being interrupted by lower 80s in the far east bay with 82 san jose, the peninsula. You can see the greens in bit cooler there. 79 redwood city, 78 for santa rosa next couple of days. Theres the intrusion of the cloud cover, but already warming up on tuesday at 85, which is kind of a work in progress to start moving those numbers a little bit. Stephanie. Now, where have later on the 7 day forecast, what you have that warm up that we just spoke unfortunately in the next week and it looks like well have an interruption from another front. I got to play with the clouds and a nothing burger king terms of rain and, you know, blah, blah and have the sun or rain and not this middle ground stuff. But, you know, these are kind of keep the fire a part of yeah, dense and thats so important. Given a mean, of course, our history with fire here and area. All right, dave, thank you so much. Okay. Davis in the Weather Center tracking it all for us today of another chilly one out yeah, its a bit chilly this morning compared to yesterday will make up for it this afternoon. Good morning, stephanie. Good morning, a lot of ground fog were contending with as well. You know, we oftentimes get that fog, but it takes a while to kind of mix out here. We have the progress and it is pretty good east bay shoreline. Yeah, its all covered up right now. But you can see that line up towards the aloft of the blue skies and thats our future because really, the intrusion of this cloud cover is not going to get here until tomorrow. Its looking foggy out there. But, you know, its clearing up in different areas. We know where Tiffany Justice was, for example, Half Moon Bay like the sunshine coming out. Yeah. Looks like she needs. It gets also those shades that she had from yesterday because she was getting the sunrise. Thats interesting. As you point out, thats correct. Sfo, by the way, is one of the trouble spots. They are having a halfhour delay realize its much but thats still kind of built into the forget excuse me to the flight day. So you might have a bit of a domino effect a bit at the. But anyway, just to give you an idea, there is a little bit of a delay being impacted by this fog. Weve got 50s and lower 60s lining up the east bay shoreline for now 50s up north 60 for San Francisco. Cool 55th for of 55 for Half Moon Bay and 64. Meanwhile for san jose, the bigger issue is going to be when this front finally decides to make its way through. And looking at the latest models, it looks like its not going to be until tomorrow afternoon. Now, not so much in the early Morning Hours. So heres how it plays out today. We take care of this mix on out. We go in mostly sunny mote. Those temperatures inland start to get into the 80s and all that comes back again tonight. Not unusual. Maybe some coastal drizzle. All then in the early part of the morning or later part of the morning early afternoon clears out until aloft. The cloud cover makes way. So thats monday afternoon. Overnight to tuesday, were going to deal with this intrusion as that front. Finally, tip toes to indoor towards our north. This is a scenario weve seen during the drought during the winter months. But this is october. Thats fine. It gives us enough of that moisture at the ground level to kind of combat fire concerns a bit, too. And also no offshore winds. A pesky fog clearing a afternoon, lower 80s inland 70s for the bay. Now, tomorrow is going to probably kind of mirror your saturday again with those scattered clouds hanging around tuesday, the same deal, 70s and 80s well inland. And then we hit the octane wednesday, thursday and friday. Well start getting into the lower 90s. Well, inland, sunny and warming, but as we head into the weekend, looks like the cloud cover comes back again. Theres that risk of a shower. 71 San Francisco, oakland, 74 afternoon, clearing as the game. 82 meanwhile for san jose, well say thats a shot maybe from around noon ish or so 1 oclock 81 for antioch for high today. 83 livermore, 82 conquered. Still those 70s hanging on the east bay shoreline got the greens for the peninsula. 78 meanwhile, for santa rosa and the next couple of days, there is actually a bouncing around with temperatures again today making the lower 80s cooling off a touch from and frontal passage. Obviously, 84 starting to warm up on tuesday and a warmup for the rest the week. So if a little flavor summer, weve gotten that forecast. Very interesting. So kind of a mixed bag relieving its if its fall. Yeah, this week, as i mentioned, have kind of traffic somewhat like this in terms of cloud cover it all the following, like wednesday or so. Looks like a more interesting front coming our way, too. But well see. We get there sometimes like fall most. All right. We will stay tuned. We know that youre keeping an eye on all of it for us to that. Thank you. All right. Well, a new book takes us back in time to 19. 0, 6, when a powerful, devastating 7. 9 magnitude earthquake struck San Francisco to this day. Its still the strongest quake ever recorded in the bay area. Earlier today i spoke with awardwinning authors, matthew j, davenport. He is the mind behind the longest minute. The great San Francisco earthquake here. And i had a chance to read the book. Its incredible. Congratulations to you on another great piece of work so what our viewers through what they can expect with the book . Walk us through the story here. Well, the facts about the 19, 0, 6, earthquake and fire are generally widely known. 28,000 buildings, homes, businesses, churches, schools, libraries, reduced to ash heaps and rubble. Approximately a quarter Million People more than half the citys population at the time made homeless and more than 3,000 people at no other time in our nations history was a major american city. So completely destroyed as San Francisco was. And that april 19, 0, 6, but we live in a time removed from that 19. 0, 6 survivors and longer with us, theyve all passed and so we see it kind of in hazy mirage of the past and trapped in you know, black and white photographs, right . It happened to them in living color. So i wanted to go back into the archives and look at their experiences and piece it together to tell the story as it happened to them. Really pay such a vivid picture of that period of time. Its quite impressive. I learned a number of things about San Francisco that i didnt even know about. Many of them had not been consulted before, but then in the National Archives in san bruno, i found that transcripts trials, there was a lot of litigation that followed this in the months and years following the disaster and has the verbatim transcripts of eyewitness testimony of hundreds of eyewitnesses telling about what they saw felt and heard during the earthquake and where and how individual fires started and how they spread and added so much living color to the event. Thank releasing october 17. Thank you so much we made it bmo has arrived. Hello . You said it. Hello to more ways to save money, grow your wealth, grow your business. Just what we needed, another big bank. Not so fast. And theyre a bit thursday friday, as you can see, the temperatures warm up here comes another moy sitting front. Well call not necessarily a lot of rain with that. Well see the scattered clouds working and here again next weekend. Take me away. Stephanie. All right, dave, thank you. Were going to do that when most folks visit alaska, they do it on a cruise. But its not the only way to see the state, especially if youre open to the idea of exploring some more remote locations during the winter months. So i travel enthusiast in redmond, joins us live now with some once in a lifetime experience ideas, which include the Northern Lights and crossing the Arctic Circle at not too yeah. Opportunities to see the northern its always exciting. You know, sometimes called the aurora borealis. But scientists predict that in the next year to 18 months, were going to see some of the most dazzling displays that weve seen in decades. If its been on your wishlist for a while the time to get a trip on the calendar. And the good news is you dont have to travel as far as you might. Think. Sightings are never guaranteed. But a combination of location and weather patterns make the area surrounding fairbanks, alaska, a great place to be dazzled. This is borealis base about a 45 minute drive from downtown fairbanks. Its from a remote location. Makes it ideal for viewing the Northern Lights and thanks to those shiny little heated white domes. Lay in the Northern Lights great. Its fantastic. Now. Truth be told i couldnt stay inside when they are up this is during the daytime without snow, the new you will get. So it gives you an idea, even during the day during the night youre going to have great views. But its the excitement of seeing that light that just has a way of taking over. And if you can stay in bed, all the power haha. Yeah. Yeah. Now this is china hot springs resort. This is about a 60 mile drive outside of the city of fairbanks and along with the Northern Lights, you have the hot springs as the name implies to relax in before the show begins. Now, you also have the aurora ice museum. This not your typical museum. Okay. Its kept a chilly. 25 degrees filled with ice sculptures. Yes, im rarely used hotel rooms and of course, a bar with glasses made out of ice mean, yes, you are. Yes, you are unable. Yes. You are to gloves to hold the glass. And what i would say. But again, this is really the start of the show. What youre waiting for. There are spots, you know, not far from the ice bar where you can view the lights, but there is also a prima location with a tour that takes you up to a Higher Elevation further away from light pollution. And you get these just kind of in dazzling views. Now for the truly, truly adventuresome traveler. That are chasing the aurora. Theres a unique opportunity that comes with the bragging rights of crossing the Arctic Circle. Theres your sign mark of marking the spot arctic hive is a wilderness ski lodge and yoga retreat. Kind all rolled into key. It is beautiful. It is beautiful. It borders the gates of Arctic National park. Now to give you some perspective, its located 63 miles north of the Arctic Circle in the town of wiseman. The town of wiseman has a winter population of about 10 people and people, 10 people. And in the summer swells to maybe 2 dozen its said to archive is said to be the northernmost yoga studio in america. So mornings begin with yoga in a well. He did igloo with few interesting. Its a beautiful sight. Very different. If you visit in the spring, the sun can set after 10 oclock at night. So you might have activities like dog mushing hiking. They frequently get thrown into the mix. This is set in alaskas brooks range. Its wilderness. And its really a trip for a very specific type of traveler. Now, all of that said at many moments i had a cell signal. Wow. So incredible. Who knows. Now theres no bathrooms in the cabin there. The the cabins are off the grid. They are heated but what they do come with a 9, 0, no bathrooms is tough for some people. No showers. What they do come with is these amazing views of Northern Lights. The savings, you know, never guaranteed. It doesnt matter where in the world you go. You do have to be prepared to stay up pretty much into the wee hours of the morning to see them. So its a marathon of sorts. But the weather patterns in the structure of the arctic just make it a great spot to be dazzled its arguably one of the best viewing spots just consistently time and time again great shots. Yeah, and its a great long season. It runs from late august. To late april. So if you are absolutely not a cold weather person as well, you can go without snow and still have great viewing opportunities. Okay. Yeah. That is something to consider because i was going to ask you, this was only a winter season thing, but it sounds like its end of august. That is the season officially starts on the 21st of august runs through the 21st of april. So you can easily be there at the end of the summer. Catch the lights. Its a beautiful thing. See, dont have to constantly be waiting for us you have full and i love that you brought up alaska because it may not be the top of at the top of mind for people for the winter season because you think, oh, must be really cold out there. But activities youre suggesting, it means some really interesting options. Its all about the gear to truthfully. At the end of the day, the good gear will help you keep warm. I i am truly not a cold weather person. I dont do well in cold weather, but it is all about the gear ski good mittens. Good gloves. Keep yourself warm. The big a big fan of those hand warmers and yes, yes. What really got me entry to was the dog mushing the dogs. You did something thats on my bucket what was that like . Mean, you on the back of of the slide, hanging on the sled. You have great used. The dogs are absolutely incredible. Its a great way to see a lot of territory in a shorter amount of time. Now you are moving pretty quick. So you have to be prepared to kind of have that wind chill factor thats involved. Is up you. They they dont they buckle up. And they do provide quite a bit, too. So theres a lot to see. But the day we went out, there are quite a few moves out in the area. The dogs tend to know long before you do so its just a great experience. Is a great way to cover along a long stretch of land in a short period of time. Was it a bumpy know, it. It can be bumpy in this part of alaska. There are a lot more trails that arent necessarily as groomed per se because were talking about remote wilderness. I mean, obviously theyre operating there. Theyre going to be the best experience they possibly can. But its not a track. Keep in mind, this is remote wilderness. So you make up around a little bit, but youre not going to be any worse all right. Fantastic at love, huskies. They just they just love to hear that so much energy to full thank you for bringing us all these fantastic options. So, he wont forget all right. That was dana redmond, our travel expert. And well be right back. Well, a taylor swift movie is no surprise doing pretty well at the box office based on early numbers, the superstars new concert movie taylor swift, the eras tour. We tell you that kristen, im just looking at a shot of quite how are we have this ground fog . Its still in place right now. But shots like in Half Moon Bay, the sun is out. So everybody should start to get in the mostly this afternoon. Monday tuesday, theres a cloud cover from the front, blah, blah, blah. Then we get to wednesday thursday friday. Look at how the temperatures move friday indicates another system right in time for weekend. Sorry for the timing. Were going to get a little plate pinpoint on this. We get closer on this, stephanie, because some of later models say that maybe it might be saturday. The more sunny day in sunday with the cloud cover and so forth. But enjoy this afternoon. The sunshine should be out in full force and maybe Everybody Needs to classes this afternoon with sunshine. I know she said when she had can even see through them. Thats how dark yeah, you dont need them. So its really impressive. Yeah. The Technology Goes into shades. All right. Thank you so much for joining us here on the proper weekend news.
