We now know that more than 1800 people from both sides have died in this conflict just over the past few days. And this number does include 14 americans. Right now. Israel is retaliating with relentless airstrikes on gaza as the targets that terrorist organization. Were looking now at the destruction in gaza. 150 hostages from israel are still being held captive by hamas. There. And now we know that some of them are u. S. Citizens. President biden speaking moments ago saying that the u. S. Stands with israel. Because president . I have no higher priority the safety of americans being held hostage around the world. Thanks for joining well, the city of San Francisco says that after years of trying they have failed to get these landowners to our landlords to comply with city code and they say theyre taking advantage of their tenants and now theyre taking legal action. Tuesday morning. San Francisco City attorney david chiu announced that the city is suing the owners of 3 single room occupancy or sro hotels in chinatown. Theyre located at 14. 49 powell street 7. 90, vallejo street and 9. 12, jackson street. The citys alleging that the landlords of these buildings have failed to properly maintain their properties. They say that the tenants, most of whom are immigrants have had to deal with among other things, broken in rusted, plumbing, broken doors and locks exposed wiring a lack of emergency exits, broken windows, lead paint, insect and rodent infestations and the lack of smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors. I got out those time speaking at a press conference, residents claim that theyve been dealing with these problems for years out. The first person in california to be convicted of murder in connection with fentanyl. Distribution was sentenced to 15 years in prison today. Nathan kabul coming in was found guilty in july of causing the fentanyl death of a 15 yearold girl from roseville last year. Prosecutors say that he possessed and transported fentanyl. That was pressed into pills to look like a perk reset. They said that he provided those pills to the girl which ultimately claimed her life. California attorney general rob bonta was at the courthouse in roseville for the sentencing. California and across the nation, we are witnessing a devastating rice in young people. Died by accidental fentanyl overdose. We cant stress enough how dangerous fentanyl its cheap. Its potent and its lethal. I want to just take a look ahead and remind us all that this work easy.
