The unions and the city reached a tentative deal that should last once approved until summer of 2025. The Workers Union say this tentative deal includes wage increases in the first year by 6 . And then 2 more years of pay increases after that, an increase from one to 8 weeks of paid family leave more competitive bilingual pay an expansion of retention and recruitment improvements. But san jose mayor matt mahan says he does not like this deal. He says the council buckled to politics and caved to pressure from the union. While a majority of my colleagues support this deal, i cannot. Our leaders are elected to represent the people. And the needs of the people took a back seat. What working families will likely see because of this is higher taxes and service cuts such as Library Hours and 911, response times. Thinks a deal costs too much. And he says in the weeks ahead, the city manager is going to reveal what services may have to be cut because of this agreement. Union officials can bring the agreement to their members for a vote in the coming days. Take a break here at a 10. Still ahead on the kron 4 morning news. I do want to stress it too much because its still going to be warm this weekend. Just not as hot as weve been your view outside berkeley hills. Youve got a little bit of fog, just barely hanging out. Its a very thin veil where you are seeing it for the most part. Most of us are looking up at sunshine in full force up in the sierra. Still looking at some active weather up there. Some thunderstorm activity yesterday morning. We got a little taste of that ourselves in the inland east bay. What weve got is this tropical moisture thats being pushed up our direction by this low pressure area. And as its drawn into Southern California in the sierra, theyve seen regular thunderstorm activity this past week. Well, were just starting at the edge of that monsoonal moisture. What youve notice more than anything is maybe a bit more of a muggy or humid feel than youre used to. Now what we have in future cast is going to be another hot and sunny one inland and at the coastline, temperatures moderated by that marine layer and youll see some spots of fog because of that as we move into tomorrow, temperatures will be quite as hot. We are going to more presence of that cool ocean air pushing a little further inland. Well, looking at 90s to even triple digits for some of our inland spots. Livermore danville in concord, right up next to 100. Well, antioch in vacaville are 2 spots that will hit or get past 100 degrees yet again. Tomorrows temperatures shouldnt hit those triple digits, but were not going to cool that much. Just 45 degrees. As for friday, saturday and sunday, our inland temperatures finally settle down to seasonal averages, which is upper 80s to low 90s with 70s along the bay shore. So bitter leaf, but certainly still some summer warmth right now. John, thank you for that. Well, been tracking a disabled vehicle on the bay bridge right near that Treasure Island exit. A lot of tate, 17 in an suv struck and killed a 4 yearold girl and injured one of her parents in San Francisco as they were pushing her in a stroller across an intersection is right near oracle park. Police say it was a pretty traumatic scene at the time proper. Sarah stinson actually walks us through what happened. Were here at the corner of 4th and king streets where a driver struck and killed a 4 yearold girl crime scene. Techs are on scene trying to wrap up this area because its been closed for hours now. We know a driver struck this 4 yearold girl was in a stroller at the time. Her father was pushing her in the crosswalk. Here and the mother was alongside them. Now the stroller was pinned between a pull and the suv. Mercedes, the girl and dad were rushed to the hospital after they were able to get the girl out from between that poll and the suv were told the father has lifethreatening injuries. Were still waiting on an update on his condition. Police say the mom was not injured this crash. Happened one block from oracle park at 5. 15, an hour and a half before the game started. Crowds are really starting to grow here as they do right by the caltrain station. Muni Police Crime Scene techs have been gathering evidence. They really concentrated a lot of their efforts on the right side of the suv. Theres a lot of Traffic Cameras in this intersection. So im sure investigators are going to be coming through that video gathering the evidence they were not able to confirm what led up to the crash, but they did say the driver stayed on scene and is cooperating. They also said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be involved at this time. Patrols were out here. Muni was quickly on scene since the game cause a lot of crowds. They commonly stay in this area and guide pedestrians through this busy intersection. We know it was chaotic situation where the vehicle may have been and with was unable to move for whatever reason. The everyone on scene, including our parking control officers did everything that they could to assist in that chaotic moment. Were still waiting to find out the condition of the father and find out from police about their investigation to see what led up to this crash.
