Cloverdale you are one spot in the 30s this morning now you work your way back into the low 40s temperatures a whole lot warmer than they were at the same time yesterday nevado napa Mountain View each 13 degrees up from where we were at the same time yesterday. All right thank you john for checking in on the traffic around the bay area and im happy to report we do not have any hot spots are major issues so all is well a live look at 80 into San Francisco wide open as its been throughout the morning drive of so many people taking the day off its going to be nice and light and quiet so come on in 8 minutes off to the fremont street exit we do have a trouble spot thats lingering. Its an overturned crash on the peninsula north make that south one one ahead ralston in belmont overturn accident here at last check it was blocking a couple of lanes and they were trying to clear it. But you see how its backing up traffic out of sand, the tail so south what i want is crawling from 92 or just before 9 to 2. All the way up to the scene and then right after the scene the rest of the trip from the peninsula to the south bay looks really good so this is the only hiccup and then to 80s wide open thats always an option for you if you want to take it both north one oh one in north to 80 look great from the peninsula to San Francisco. So does the skyway and the central freeway well check more traffic coming up a little bit later back to you. All right, thank you very much robin lets take you back live to Arlington National cemetery, where we see the ceremony getting under way here. In front of the tomb of the unknown soldiers we expect President Trump to appear shortly to officially placed the wreath there in front of the tomb we havent seen him publicly. In the last couple of weeks so were anticipating that again looks like a moment of silence being held right now in in a minute. Were going to see festivities get underway now this and the amphitheater behind it have been closed to the public. Since the spring, so we dont have the normal crowd public members sort of crowded around at the base of the tomb the unknown soldiers to witness, the ceremony so this is our way of bringing it to you our cameras are there and again everybody spaced out socially distance to try and reduce the effects of covid19 and the possibility of it spreading. Again the wide view there shows you that everybody is in place. And again we are waiting for the president to arrive to begin that ceremony we did see earlier the secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie of colonel with us air force. Reserve come out and present the and again its standing by waiting for the president. I dont know that we can hear anything at the moment though is going to ask if we wanted to listen and but im not sure that theres much there to here. So well keep an eye on the ceremony, one looks like its about to get underway. Well come back to it. Time now is 8 03 and theres breaking news that were following in the north bay, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a Police Cruiser yeah, this was in benicia a kron 4 Sarah Stinson at the scene for us this morning with more on. What we know at this point happened good morning sara. And the scene has cleared since i last reported in talks with you guys around 8 oclock chp was on scene and then the tow truck arrived and told the patrol car corner left as well so if you in this area, the scene has cleared. But it was closed off for hours because a man was struck and killed by a Police Officer on duty earlier this morning take a look at the map you can see exactly where im standing here right near the 7. 80 west on ramp and the 1900 block of east Second Street in video from the scene that just wrapped up moments ago the patrol cars windshield is all smashed in the officer was not on the way to a call or anything it was just patrolling the area around 2 this morning. When he struck a man in his 30s to 40s in the middle of the lane paramedic paramedics they arrived on scene and tried to save the mans life but unfortunately again he died on scene the officer was not injured. He was removed from the area immediately as the investigation. It was starting go under way. The coroner arrived around 7 and as i said the patrol car towed away the Solano County District Attorneys Office in california high a patrol are investigating the interim police chief says that this is a tragic incident for all involved and theyre sending their condolences to the victims family and loved ones to be talking with the department. In a few minutes and well hear from them coming up in my live report at 9 for now live in benicia Sarah Stinson kron 4 news. All right, thank you very much sara. 8 05 in the top story is covid is on the rise around the bay and not only in the number of cases but also hospitalizations are up yeah, seeing a handful of counties registering that uptick San Franciscos one of them, although its still in yellow which means minimal, but were seeing some pullback and some of the reopenings but solano and Contra Costa County. They really have been downgraded now were going to see the effect yeah they were and then they turn to substantial which is not good. That means rollbacks in Contra Costa County for one. Lets go to walnut creek kron fours will tran has been following the changes that are about to happen there. I will. Good morning the rollbacks are not immediate you have today tomorrow to still live the life that you enjoy for the past us a couple of weeks because they went into orange, a couple of weeks ago but come friday, rolling back to a more restrictive guidelines. Take a look at your screen. These are the things that will be implemented. On friday in Contra Costa County because they have seen the covid19 cases go up its not the dangerous levels. But they want to get ahead of it so i wont get to those levels. So on friday Retail Stores to 50 capacity. Officeworks faces must operate remotely Gyms Fitness Centers to 10 capacity. Amusement parks cannot open bowling alleys indoor entertainment. They are being restricted is well lots of things we will post this list on our website at kron 4 dot com a lot of things that you are use to. Doing a couple of weeks ago got a little bit of freedom and now we are back so what is new is old or what is not old is new the bottom line is they want to get ahead of covid19 before overruns the staff and the Hospital System got a chance to talk to some people this morning. Heres what one man had to say about the restrictions. I think its a correct response and its. Weve we would not like to unlike europe for example that they will be they when they were tying my opinion too relaxed. If you want to avoid a new wave. Its probably a good thing to do to a strict gradually instead of just letting everything go and then a sudden my clothes, everything. According to Health Officials chance and area they know it probably will get worse before it gets better because come wintertime a lot of people obviously will be huddled inside. They wont be outside so then they expect the covid19 cases possibly go up during that time survey according to that gentleman you heard hes pretty much lock step with Health Officials better to do it gradually in all of us and do another lockdown. Understandable or thank you very much well. Time now is 8 08 and on the peninsula, San Mateo County they are also seeing an uptick in the number of covid cases, yeah doctors warning everybody to be extra careful with the holidays coming up we could see the spike continue to grow kron fours reyna harvey live there. With more on the story ran. And thats the warning this morning for the most part most businesses are still open you can see lot of people here in the parking lot and the streets here pretty busy thats because right now the counties in orange here that could change with a number of cases theyve seen increases that in talking to one gentleman who tells me hes not going to be getting together with his family over the holidays, hes going to stay right at home because he doesnt want to see the numbers go up and doesnt want to get as family members sick. Thats what county officials are hoping that most people are going to do over the next few days, especially as we inch closer and at thanksgiving into christmas and all the other holidays, we enjoy sharing, so theyre giving us some tips on how you can interact with your loved ones theyre saying if you do get together with them over the next few days make sure that you guys are outside also social distancing and if you are like me and you go from house to house visiting family members theyre also asking people to just reduce that if you are one locations stay there facetime the other relatives and also keep that time with your loved ones to a minimum its a less than 2 hours. Thats the time frame. Theyre saying it so hospitalization rates throughout the county and cases of gone up we have some numbers to show you this are these are the number of cases this is from october 25th through the 31st it started at about 43, and you know they were here comfortably in the orange here. But now look at this november first through the 7th 66 new cases per day. The last time i look like the numbers are gradually increasing show. Experts are saying is still too early to pinpoint exactly where or why theyre seeing the uptick but as we know theyve talked about in the winter months its coal more people go indoors and theres many longer time inside so youre around evil for a much longer period of times theyre just asking people to be mindful they can keep these numbers down thinking keep all these businesses like the ones behind me open for now reporting out here in daly city Reyna Harvey Kron 4 news all right, thanks a lot. Lorraine a. Well in the east bay, some parents in livermore are calling on the School District to reopen schools now. The district has chosen to continue Distance Learning even though Alameda County has given schools a green light to reopen and they did that nearly a month ago, but the limb of Livermore Valley joint unified School District does not plan on reopening its campuses until at least january 19th the school board has discussed to learning options. The first is a transition to a hybrid model of education with some Students Learning at home and some students physically at school. The second option is to remain entirely Distance Learning with the option of in person support cubs until schools fully reopen one mother of 2 girls says the district as wasting time. They are asking for a 67 majority vote from the community before they would even consider opening for a hybrid which to me is the most ludicrous thing ive ever heard when has childrens education become a democracy. And the School District has sent out a survey to parents asking them to choose either hybrid or Distance Learning. Theyre expecting those results to come back by monday. Private schools have been given the green light to reopen in San Francisco and High School Students who are set to return to class next week are going to have to wait now the San Francisco unified School District is still assessing individual School Facilities working on agreements with teachers and staff. Welcome back 8. 15 on this wednesday morning kicking off the new work week with that rather the middle of the with some conditions out there that are a little cloudier than what we had been seeing earlier this week work week we kicked it off with some 20s and 30s. Were thankful for the cloud cover though because its actually resulting in the moderating temperatures weve had all morning long. Half moon bay right here looking at some cloud cover overhead but no fog across the bay to your drive into work is going to be just fine this morning and its going to stay that way into the afternoon as we remain dry for your wednesday ahead. Thats not going to be true later this week though another system is going to be pushing its way our direction come friday night into saturday that will result in more rainfall just around the corner. So today, were dry, we have a little bit more cloud cover but staying comfortably cool. Tomorrow we stay dry as well but showers on our doorstep starting to work their way into oregon in right along the california oregon border by tomorrow evening. Then comes friday morning showers along the north coast snow for the southern cascades and Northern California and by friday evening showers push back into the bay area this is futurecast window open at 08 45pm on friday right here showing of the showers pushing right on into the day staying with us through your friday night on into saturday morning, the rest of saturday into sunday and monday nice and dry before yet another system impacts us into tuesday night and wednesday of next week. So an active forecast ahead of us and that means. Slick start to the weekend if you do have any sort of travels plant, especially up into the sierra where theyll get a dose of snowfall for the bay it will be rain in a quarter of an inch of it possible in areas like hayward oakland, San Francisco in sandra fell. Well santa rosa could see up to a half an inch of rainfall. Todays daytime highs a lot like yesterdays back into the 50s and 60s little bit cooler than yesterdays and you can think the cloud cover for that keeping temperatures just a little bit down from where we were for your sunny tuesday behind us 60s remain through thursday friday and saturday with little change in temperatures even the cloud cover increases as does your chance of rainfall. Lows will be in the 30s for our inland areas. Well 40s for most of our bayside and coastal spots. Robin. All right, thank you john were checking in on the traffic and im seeing a huge improvement for your morning drive here on 92 was never that bad gotta little busy earlier but now it has thinned out nicely so were still at a very quick 13 minutes to the peninsula. Here are the bay bridge toll plaza not many folks are here heading into San Francisco. They have the day off for veterans day and thats clearly the case because normally it stacked up from 8. 80 weve had no delays here all morning. So far or overturn accident finally out of the way in Belmont South one one draw alston that was blocking 2 lanes you see its still busy from 92, leaving sand tail so south 1, 1, slows from 92 up to the ralston exit in belmont as soon as you pass a scene it opens up, but they have cleared off to the shoulder which is great news and the rest of your commute from the peninsula to the south bay looks fantastic. So no other issues to 3780 87 to 80 all doing fine in the south bay back to you. In the buzz was it a freak accident or the San Francisco giants fall that a player got a concussion that he says. And is his career in twentyeighteen Mac Williamson was trying to catch a foul ball when he tripped over a bullpen mound and now hes suing the operator of oracle park. My injuries could have been avoided but for the parks failure to relocate the balkans to where they belonged in the first place and filing this lawsuit is. Is the hole the par counter park owners accountable for not only taking away my career, but. But carelessly risking every other great players career. By needlessly placing the will come out on the field. Too late for him, but just before this season, the giants actually did move the bullpens to behind the outfield wall. The start of the new basketball season is set december 22nd and the warriors cant wait, it wasnt easy watching lebron play in the bubble while. Staff was at home practicing his
