Allowing them to see customers outside using maybe the sidewalk and alley or other outdoor areas may be easily been shut down the street to allow more space otherwise restaurants would be extremely limited with how many people they could safely seat. It was a distance away inside and that would hurt them that would make cars and to not be able to pay the rent. Perfect timing with the summer weather hitting us in the coming months, you can enjoy a nice dinner outside once this gets going in san jose. The plan will also help other businesses using outdoor space to serve customers like hair salons thank goodness good to hear gyms yoga studios and retail stores. So assist the Small Businesses and making sure that they comply with social distance guidelines set by the state in the city but doing so will restrict some traffic in some some Street Parking something that you know youre sacrificing a little to get a lot more helping these businesses stick it out during this pandemic and now i did speak to a woman and her husband they were on a walk and she said she feels comfortable but he said new and im not ready for that step quite yet. The base and what a feeling that saved by get a word the rates are at. The infection rate of and i think well get that were all going to have different guidelines and for our own self and what we feel with or speaking of Santa Clara County. The numbers are stable right now. But theyre still the highest numbers in the bay area. So thats why that woman and her husband feeling a little anxious about heading to a restaurant city leaders will also help businesses with spacing whether that means building. Low cost 3 d barrier whether that means putting planted a potted plants between people to show what spaces they need to sit in to keep that distance really interesting to see how this progresses its a learning curve, its our new normal and it will be a something well have to monitor the next coming weeks marty for now send it back to you, yeah, you know sarahs interesting too that a lot of other communities are going to be looking at Santa Clara County to see how theyre doing this. Because theyre going to be making the same move in the next coming days and weeks as well right. It definitely ensure San Francisco be monitoring it along with the you know i heard berkeley and san mateo theyre actually already talking about doing the same thing with these outdoor seating options. Yeah so again the new normal. Thank you Sarah Stinson reporting for us live from downtown san jose. Now lets go ahead and get the forecast to it should be nice today but were gradually going to heat up. And its going to his big time over the weekend that theres far has more on that. Hi dave. Yeah, the unofficial start well summer is going to feel like the official start of summer there good morning marty good morning, everybody. The kind of monitoring this morning a lot of this fog situation weve had around the although a lot of the inland locations all opened up the Golden Gate Bridge has been pretty good this morning, although we can see still some pop the ball clouds kind of hang around a little bit not much the way of winds though the flag is cutlip there. And heres a look at the future cast for to note really the Santa Cruz Mountains thats where the problem areas are some of the lingering marine layer slash fog still hovering upper 50 at this hour now 60s to for antioch 60 per conquered 58 for livermore matching that for a word by the way the decoupling between the east bay shoreline in inland areas. They do not roll pronounced today but youre going to notice that the couple of days where things are really starting move in. Heres whats as we take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza off to the distance the east bay hills still working on it looks kind of gloomy do me there, 60 by 10 00am and 01 00pm 6873 by 4 oclock under sunny to mostly sunny skies marty coming up a little expect that to you. The people of San Francisco have been absolutely incredible and because the majority of them are complying were able to take things a step further. Well the city is reopening step by step but the top county Health Official says it still could be weeks until San Francisco enters the next phase, San FranciscoHealth Director doctor grant colfax as the countys reopening plans aligns with the states plan to reopen the economy. Right now the city is in phase 2 a and this allows lowrisk or places to reopen in Retail Businesses to operate with Curbside Pickup dodge colfax as San Francisco still about 2 to 3 weeks until its ready to enter phase to be and that would allow for more relaxed restrictions, including adapting and reopening restaurants, retail and schools. As the coronavirus cripple San Franciscos bars and entertainment community, some Business Owners are forced to find creative ways to reopen once theyre given the green light. Lynn schwartz is a part owner of the San Francisco rock venue and she and other nightlife operators are asking the city for a little flexibility to use spaces like parks and parking lots to hold outdoor shows events and gatherings. Even 25 or 50 capacity when were allowed to reopen doesnt necessarily pay the bills so how about allowing us to take over some city spaces such as i live in visitation valley very close to make a clear and park if we dont have space we will not survive and were going to go bankrupt and theres going to be lives lost and jobs. Thousands 10s of thousands of jobs lost there are going to recover. And it doesnt have to happen that way if we can if we can find more space. Well the citys Entertainment Commission and that the new entertainment scene in San Francisco will probably involve fewer big name acts and focus more on local bands and entertainers. Now well go to the north bay were napa counties announced that its moving further into stage 2 of reopening with some adaptations joining us live from napa to break down what businesses are able to operate under these new guidelines kron fours reyna harvey and Business Owners have to be overjoyed about this new normal. You have no idea how daniel moore says here golden bagel cafe about his Business Reopening to customers. That he showed me this this is about 12 pages. Given to Mister Morris from the state guidelines about how he can reopen this morning. And now that we have arrived the opening the bill i feel great very excited. Now for you i got a chance to talk to some of your customers and they were overjoyed about being able to sit down and celebrate in a to break bread with one another for you how has it been for you as a Business Owner during this whole time its been pretty difficult ive been able to take out thank goodness, im your first few months first few weeks were very difficult and its gotten a little better with a take out a what now doing inside dining and hoping our business comes back completely. Other businesses that are going to be a very open, you know what do you think that this will do for everyone out that the fullservice dining restaurants are really its been devastating particularly of valley and in downtown napa so hopefully people hear about this to come up and visit these restaurants, this been really devastating on for someone who may not understand what the process is going to look like today se all around your restaurant have signs up because were going to hear they have to put those up to let people know what to do, but what are some things that have changed in here. Well weve had is a separate the get this distancing requirements sanitation face removing some of the condiments people arent touching everything. Other than that weve been having had to do really whole thank you so much again for joining me this morning and again where can they locate you out here napa were 30 to 40 jefferson street in napa california. Thank you so much to pay another really important thing to talk about is schools, you know the state said that they were able to reopen out here, however that is not going to happen wer going to show you a statement. That was actually issued from the office of education on here. The 5 School Districts of napa county that napa valley unified that saint helene a unified thats calistoga joint unified how now to elementary in Pope Valley Union elementary and the Napa County Office of education will not be opening for inclass instruction on june 1st. Theyre all those businesses out here theyre going to be opening today have to make sure that they comply with those requirements just like mister morse explain to you making sure people have those face masks, theyre also doing a little bit of physical distancing now as far as the bars and the wineries and wine tasting menus on here those are not going to open just yet that will be until stage 3. The governor thinks will see that happening around midjune possibly but for now reporting in napa radar harvey kron 4 news okay baby steps reyna thanks a lot for that live report from napa. And continue our coverage on schools in the state 6 california School Districts, including San Francisco and oakland say the governor newsoms proposed budget cuts could delay the reopening of their schools. The governor has proposed a 14 billion in cuts because of e coronavirus at least half of those cuts are coming from Public Schools. The oakland and San Franciscos unified School Districts join 4 other districts in the state including la and san diego to write a letter to lawmakers saying that schools need more money not less of their to reopen safely. The governor has said in the past that cuts could have been deeper and that he will be using federal money to help out the schools. The legislature has until the middle of next month to approve the governors proposed budget. And still ahead this morning, San Francisco officials now putting together a list of list of possible sites for more approved homeless encampments during the pandemic. Well find out why some people are concerned about these potential new locations. And in oakland couple is sharing their battle with coronavirus will hear their cautious message for everyone as counties begin to reopen. Im kelly meyer reporting from washington whats good morning welcome back to kron 00 04am morning news 9. 14 this wednesday morning were taking a live look outside and barca daryl this time around starting to see a little bit of clearing there. Lets find out more about that from mondays far hi dave. Hey good morning marty good morning, everybody up and slow clearing there its been a trouble spot like the bay bridge toll plaza has been as well nothings for the golden gate to open up pretty nicely however this shot from tipper on shows this fog clouds kind of thing about little bit given us scattered cumulus that were seeing also from the Golden Gate Bridge imagery is here. But look at the blue skies get used to it theres a lot more upstream of those blue skies lower 60s off to the far east bay. Already warming up thats the warmest spot on our map and probably will continue to be so as we go forward in our forecast upper 50s to near about 60 east bay shoreline up to the north bay, its upper 50s 59, san jose 58 for San Francisco for comparisons sake we are trailing in the Santa Cruz Mountains, although and parts of the east bay warming up. More so than we were 24 hours ago, but just a degree or so and up to the north bay but pretty close to yesterdays performance again some leftover marine layer again that around the peninsula turned out to the Santa Cruz Mountains with some daytime heating might see a little shower up in the sierra were off to a very mild forecast, lots of sunshine. You can expect probably a little bit less the way of fog intrusion tomorrow wouldnt rule it out but will that less of it as what we expect. So heres the game plan here again looking at the same shot of the east bay shoreline, im off to the distance you can see the east bay hills with that cloud cover hanging out mostly sunny mild today 70s for bay and inland today now rest of the week warming up to near about 80 by week said sunny and warming in for the weekend warming even more so 80s for the bay 90 so start up in london and we continue to build on that inland as will see the middle 90s easily from monday to tuesday in some locations might even see some upper 90s to race to 100 66 San Francisco, 70 going on for Oakland San Jose coming in at 73. And for a map today, its pretty much the greens and some yellows getting of their around the delta got some upper 70s at work there today thats nothing compared to whats in store for us. A lot more yellows on that map were going to see tomorrow. Encroaching reds on there as well to when we get into the weekend particularly to so prepare for a nice warm up going to take a look at the 4 zone forecast to see whatever decoupling were seeing around the immediate fate of those in the locations and your extended just that hes too its going to be hot tamales back to day dave well get your orange and red crayons reddy thanks a lot.
