in washington state's mt. rainier national park. michael lapinski was out exploring 90s ago, when he got caught in freezing whiteout conditions. that's the last he remembers in a day later, a navy chance of rain moves into the city by about late morning. stick around and early afternoon and those rain chances to dwindle as we head to about this time tuesday afternoon and evening. concord sees the best chance of rain, roughly the same timeframe. just because the rain is going to be moving north and south, so you have to wait a little bit longer, but a good chance of rain midafternoon, lingering a little bit longer into the evening. adding up how much rain is going to fall, it's going to be a decent amount. heavier than what we had on friday, but i don't think it's going to be heavy enough to cause any debris flow issues on the various wildfire scars around the bay area. it's something we will keep an eye on tomorrow just to be on the safe side, but rain just over a third of an inch for san jose and that's a decent amount of rain. but this adds up over the next couple of days. not all of this is going to fall tomorrow. we do have that additional surgeons that will be heading our way on wednesday. we will track that with another look at futurecast coming up at 5:30. it's going to be a wintry system. they've got a winter storm warning that goes into effect tomorrow afternoon. this is up there in elevation, but they're talking about a foot to 1.5 feet. some of the highest peaks at two feet of snow. and of course, if you're going to be traveling in that direction, keep in mind is going to be a challenge. four-wheel-drive or those chain restrictions are going to be in effect. high temperatures stay managed to climb up into the 60s and they made it up to 71 degrees. 74 in san jose was a warm spot on the map. just short 70 degrees in concord. currently, still mostly running in the 60s. 66 degrees, a couple degrees cooler downtime. 59 degrees petaluma 57.5 half moon bay. the only locations that have dipped down into the 50s as we head for the rest of tonight. a late morning, temperatures will be in the low to mid 50s which is above normal because of that blanket overhead, except the north bay. temperatures will be very close to what's normal but this time of year. very limited sunshine in the forecast on tuesday. these temperatures that are close to average going to feel a little bit on the cool side. is the low to mid 60s around the south end of the day. further into the santa clara county mostly low to mid 60s for the tri-valley. and your main amounts will be a little bit lighter there as well. later to arrive. low 60s around the bay itself with mostly low 60s for the north bay. rain gets to you faster. temperatures stay cooler. further up, only in the 50s. the same reason, rain is -- lingering showers on wednesday. trying to start the weekend, more clouds than sun a without a chance of -- not going to be brave enough but that only a certain type of business will survive. plus why the bay area will be one of the first places to get the covid vaccine once it is approved. and kpix 5 has covered -- uncovered an issue with majority of the bay area was pushed back into the purple tear with the exception of marin, san mateo and santa clara counties. >> reporter: the demand to get tested for coronavirus is growing in san francisco and it's even getting harder to book an appointment these days. officials are now looking to relocate a testing site to one of the cities hardest hit neighborhoods. kpix 5 is juliette why are there testing sites across town with people lighting up who are not high priority. san francisco is in the midst of a major surge in -- they are doing more than 57 tests a day and as the numbers ramp-up, officials are worried there sites are going to get jammed up. -- is an essential worker needs to be tested. >> people are list -- risking their lives. one of the busiest test sites in the city has been jammed up by more than just essential workers. or those who have been in contact with someone who has covid. in the city's testing sites are meant for people that are underinsured or
