his mom shares her grief. a native son of oakland, damien lillard, about to take on his hometown team. why some occluders are divided. we are tracking a spring storm tonight. when you can expect the rain. good evening. >> tonight, and uber driver in allen county is under arrest, accused of kidnapping female passengers. joe vasquez is live in berkeley with more on the story tonight, joe? >> hi ken, we are talking about two separate incidents. in the first, at 5:30 in the morning, on may 2, a woman says she summoned and uber with her cell phone but the driver refused to take her where she wanted to go. berkeley police say the driver gabriel amari took his fair, a woman in the 20s, told her he would take her to his room before he took her to work. police say he prevented her from using her phone and refused to let her get out of the car. as they reach this intersection, the victim decided she had to act quickly. she opened the door and jumped out of the car as it was still moving. at that point, police say, the driver sped his car up to try to keep her inside. she managed to escape and ran to the chevron for help. >> she was very scared. all she wanted to do was hide. >> reporter: the chevron manager told me tonight he let the victim shelter inside. her knees and hands were very scraped up and she was very upset. >> she said somebody chasing me a set of go ahead and sit down. >> reporter: later, he picked up another uber driver the summer teenage girl. according to court records, amari touched that girl on her thigh, locked the doors and refused to let her out of the car and only ended up releasing her when she threatened to break the windows. amari is now in jail. he confessed to kidnapping the first victim saying he wanted to have sex with her but police say he is denying the second incident with the teenage girl. a spokesperson for uber says kpnx , quote, what the writers reported is deeply traveling. we remove the drivers access to the app and stand ready to assist police in their litigation. >> the manager here at the chevron tells me that the victim told him that as the driver was speeding up and driving erratically and refusing to let her out, 5. distracts a woman accused of causing the crash, ashley marie oliver of san jose is being held on suspicion of felony dui and felony manslaughter. right now police are looking for suspects in an officer involved shooting. a lot of people arrived home tonight and found police all over the neighborhood. the shooting happened this afternoon on capitola street. the suspect were last seen fleeing the area in a vehicle, no officers or residents were injured. interviews connection with this they won't say what led up to the shooting. now to the latest on the college admission scheme, actress felicity huffman is facing jail time tonight after pleading guilty. the former desperate housewives and store broke to starbuck down as she admitted to the judge she paid $15,000 to have a proctor kenny choi, and our morning team, for the latest on this developing story, starting at 4:30. new tonight, more than a dozen people from a jail near sacramento are in the hospital after exposure to some sort of drug. it happened at the south plaster jail in roseville. according to the local sheriff's office, and inmate was, quote, showing altered levels of consciousness. for inmates, eight deputies, and the k-9 officer had multiple symptoms. there were disoriented, dizzy, and slow to respond to questions. the hazmat team trying to find the source, investigators initially thought the victims were exposed to fentanyl. now they are calling it an unknown substance. in southern california, a person of interest is in custody after a woman was viciously beaten to death with one of those electric scooters. police say she was walking in long beach when she jumped out of the blue. a bystander saw what was going on, and tried to intervene. grabbed a nearby scooter on the law and kept hitting her with it. she says police took her home, security video which captured the attack. >> they saw him kicking on her, and then, she fell down and he went and got the scooter and started beating her in the head. >> security cameras later caught this man entering a convenience store. the police arrested him and tonight, they are calling him a person of interest. coast guard crewmembers trying to lift in and out of the water, he was separated from his kayak in bodega bay yesterday afternoon it had to be rescued. he says the man was taking his crab pots near the jetty when wind kicked up and blew that kayak further offshore. the man was examined on shore and then taken to the hospital. >> not much of a sign of the pattern changing our weather coming tonight but trust me it will be
