has more. >> reporter: we saw them appear in court for the first time. the judge gave them a $500,000 bond, and we heard them enter plea pleas of not guilty for the manslaughter that i was announced yesterday. they were found in detroit michigan overtight night, hiding in a commercial building. the judge, explaining the bond, mentioned they had to be apprehended after turning themselves in after the charges were announced. they explained because of a unique perspective. they said they were the only one, who said she had depictions of fantasies of killing other people, and he had access to a most beautiful places in the world, and specifically found places in which mines are endangering the environment, expanding at a breakneck piece place, and we're expecting to go from 4% of the electric vehicles to 30% of the electric vehicles by 2025, and all parts of the planet. >> this is shocking information for a lot of people who are driving electric cars, thinking they are helping the environment. what does it mean for the future of the car industry? is there a solution to it? >> well, one of the things that the mining companies say is that they are getting better and better at doing a more ecological job of mines it. you know, we talked to the executives in a mine in the philippines and they say they are doing a better and better job. that said, the getting of nickel out of the ground requires very shallow, very, very broad mings. unless we can recycle the batteries or develop a new way to build them other than taking them out of the ground, it turns out anything that humans do winds up having an ecological cost and we need put it into the consideration of the electric vehicle market. >> you talked about nickel mining in the philippines. what is the connection to nickel mines and california? >> well, we traced the supply change from this particular philippine mine all walt through a processing facility and to tesla here in the united states. as you know, so many of the cars here in the bay area are teslas. they are the dominant maker of evs right now. our phones, our laptops, all those things have required nickel batteries, it turns out evs are the main the tide over 7 feet. the coastal flood advisory will expire at 3:00 in the afternoon. right now, san francisco, you are 54 degrees and a wind at 14 miles per hour, and san jose, you see a haze around the santa clara valley. part of the air quality issues, and tomorrow, dublin in the trivalley. 54 degrees. and con card and walnut creek, a little haze there, and air quality issues, not as bad as we had a couple days ago. but still in the moderate rangers, and the worst of the air quality, high pressure in place where you may briefly see a spence tif air quality in the santa clara valley. the fog, not bad around the bay area, and the fog did break up around the inner portions of the bay area, and starting to fill back in, and we are expecting another bround of patchy, dense fog heading up. temperatures in the 40s, mid 40s for the trivalley, and lower 40ed, and chilly temperatures to start, and highs in the low to mid 60s. hard not be distracted by the seven-day forecast. you have rain drops and temperatures dropping in the low 50s later next week. that is not going to be fog. that will be air conditioning comings our way. the chance of showers, monday, tuesday, and sky turning window. that is not the best rain chance for the week. it should be thursday, and what it is is a canadian cold front here that is dropping down the coast that will will bring cooler air and set the stage for know totals. the rain projections between now and sunday, it doesn't look that impressive. but once you get from december 12th to 14th, now we're talking and the driving factor here is the cold air support that should really drop the snow levels. we had a good start to the rain season, and the lightning behind. hopefully all systems go, we can really get the snow pack going. could see three or more feet of snow. we are starting to see changes, and finish the weekend on a dry note. and best chance for rain during the week will be thursday. look how the temperatures drop down. we had 70s and highs the last couple days. now, that looks more like december. every two to three days, storms coming in and we're going see chilly teps as we go to next weekend. finally, it's starting to
