The weekend of wild weather stretched into a third day today as people in the bay area saw, heard and felt everything. Either its so hot that youre just wilting or suddenly the lightning strikes and thunder. The owner of first street coffee house here in gilroy says she is doing everything she can to follow the Public Health orders but the county says she is not doing enough and could be looking at 750 in fines. As first street coffee house in gilroy serves up lattes Santa Clara County served up this warning friday. This letter says the owner violated several Public Health orders and it gives her 72 hours to fix them. If not, she could have to pay 750 in fines. The county investigated several times after customers and others reported violations. Specifically, the coffee shop is accused of having tables within six feet of each other outside. Not posting the correct health order guidelines in the front window and not requiring customers to wear a mask. We feel very strongly about american disabilities act and hippa and thats essentially what we gave them as our position in terms of forcing people to wear masks. Walking into the popular salon blue on market street, by law youre not supposed to see owner James Griffith conducting business indoors. He says the state is treating hair salons unfairly considering the strict licensing standards already set by the board. Back on july 23rd he opened without permission for the first time. Police and the state inspector came calling and shut him down. Griffith reopened today telling us he isnt concerned about a citation or even being arrested. Yeah. I invite them, please come down. Down from the 105 yesterday. 92 there in walnut creek and in dublin, 96 you can see more of the smoke there too hanging out around the trivalley and in san jose, a lot of smoke there looking toward the south. High was 96 in san jose and on the topic of the smoke, the worst of the smoke pollution settled in south of livermore and off to the south and east. In terms of new lightning strikes, off to the west and well watch that. That is drifting northward. Seeing a few showers too but look at the lightning bolts. You can see how a lot of that activity is starting to the move to the north and the west as that moisture plume moves out. The heat is still locked in on us. Look at the temperatures. By lunchtime tomorrow. Mid to upper 90s inland again. As hot as upper 90s to 106 degrees and more hundreds in the north bay without thunderstorms or clouds in the way. So high temperatures will carry us through wednesday, thursday and friday. Well begin to see a cool down. It may not feel like much.
