Wow look at these gorgeous skies over palo alto as we wake up to a very chilly morning out there. San jose, 39 degrees right now, but boy, it is gorgeous. Vains arana details a chilly forecast and what we can look forward to for the niners game tomorrow. A cell phone tower perched on a Church Steeple is not sitting well with a san jose congregation. Parents and parishioners from st. Christophers church and school in willow glen want it gone. Today in the bays Damian Trujillo has this exclusive story. Reporter st. Christopher has been a place of worship for 65 years. Now church goers and parents on the School Grounds are praying the cell station on the steeple comes down. Until the evidence is established that cell tower radiation isnt harmful for our children, cell towers like the Church Steeple must be removed. It was back in 1999. It was recently upgraded to 4g technology which some parishioners fear could be emitting more radiation. One mom decided she couldnt risk her Daughters Health who was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago. We spoke to the mom on the school. I will never take a chance with my childs life. This is a minor chance of a health concern. So within one day we made a decision to pull her from the school. Four other parents did the same. In a statement the diocese says the health and safety of parents, children and parishioners are top priority. The diocese says it established the task force of medical and Technology Experts to study the parents concerns and will hold a Community Meeting next week to release the results. Parents feel the results will undoubtedly favor the diocese and nothing will change. I dont understand what the diocese would put profits over the safety of our children. A lot of excitement growing for the packersniners game there tomorrow and the countdown sure is on. The 49ers game is less than 36 hours away. Just yesterday there was already a lot of excitement at sfo. Your San Francisco 49ers [ cheering ] the gold rush cheerleaders and sourdough sam held a rally inside sfo drawing a crowd of curious and enthusiastic fans and some of them counting down every hour until the big game. Here we are, and we are back again at last. Were going for it, baby we are going for it the 49ers take on the Green Bay Packers in the nfc championship game at levi stadium tomorrow at 4 30. Be sure to join us tonight. Well be at levi stadium for the 49ers special and well talk to current players and the 49ers legends about this magical season and that is tonight at 6 30. Were getting a new look and new purpose. Were talking about the iconic macys building in San Francisco. Last year macys sold the union square property. The new owners want to add condos and office space. The plan will put 21 condos on the top three floors as well as a rooftop deck. The middle floors would be office space. The bottom three floors would remain as the main retail space. No word yet on when that plan will be proposed to city leaders. Now to an Elementary School in pacifica. It looked more like a kiddie pool after it was hit by this weeks storms. We want to show you ocean shore school. This was thursday in the storm. The hallway looked more like a canal, kids wading through the water. Yesterday workers tried to dry it out. Its not clear when the school will reopen and luckily, it has an extra day with the monday holiday. Lets check in with vianey arana, boy, thats hard to see. I know. At least were not tracking more rain and they have an extra day and if i look at it from the kids perspective theyll be happy. Jump in the puddles. All right. So lets get a live look right now at the Golden Gate Bridge and a beautiful shot there and we also have this equally beautiful shot of downtown san jose. Look at the skies and you can see the sunrise getting ready to come through and it will be more cloud cover starting to make its way in because we do have a system just off to the north and its a pretty cold start. Were in the 30s in the south bay 37 degrees and 39 in san jose and if you go into the interior valleys and concord at 44 and livermore, a cold 36 and however, we are running a few degrees warmer and thats because the storm passed by and we have the cold front move through and that dropped our temperatures and we felt it yesterday and were about three degrees warmer at this hour and we will get a little bit warmer and lets take a look at satellite radar right now. We are going to have the increase and the cloud cover flowing through and if you notice off to the north we are monitoring this for the potential of lightly see something rain. Were not worried about it now. Well have High Pressure that will dominate in our forecast. So by this afternoon your daytime highs will be comfortable in the upper 50s for san jose, 58 degrees in morgan hill. 54 degrees in San Francisco and 58 degrees in santa rosa. I want to take you through some of these day parts because we have the womens march today throughout the entire bay area in San Francisco, oakland. Ill take you to the walnut creek one. The march is at 7 15. You dont have to worry about the rain. It will just be chilly to start and then well stick in the 50s until about 1 00, 2 00 and you will need a coat of some sort. If youre heading to the game tomorrow, it will be jacket weather. Kick off is at 3 30 and we have the Green Bay Packers versus the San Francisco 49ers. By the evening it will be overcast. Even though were not tracking rain well get the skies by the system and it will start to get breezy at times and when the windchill factor kicks in, it feels even colder and the windchill factor feeling more like probably upper 40s by the time the game ends, well certainly be dipping down into the 40s which means if we have anywhere to go after the game, you may want to keep that in mind and lets talk about the next seven days and we have the packers tomorrow and it will be overcast and tomorrow on Martin Luther king jr. Days it will be overcast and it will be dry. We track our next rain chance heading into monday night and early Tuesday Morning and this will not be a huge rainmaker and anywhere from a quarter to a half inch of rain and well keep a close eye on that and temperatures in the 50s and look at what happens as we head into wednesday, thursday and friday and we climb up into the 60s with comfortable weather. Kyra . Still ahead on today in the bay, how a bay area auto shop owner reached out to a neighbor and changed his life. It is a story that will make you bay area proud next. Welcome back. In the bay area we see first hand a lot of people struggling. Maybe its addiction, Mental Illness or homelessness and much of the time people just keep walking, but once in a while someone does Something Different. Today in the bay Garvin Thomas does Something Different in this mornings bay area proud. I have to be completely honest with you. This was a story that was a bit of a challenge to put together. We wanted to be sensitive to the story of one man in particular, but there are many details we are happy to leave out because you dont need them to get the whole message, one of kindness. If you want to make a connection with someone different than you see what it looks like. Meet them in the middle is what were told. Oh, yeah. It came out. And it turns out exactly what Sean Sepulveda did, five years ago. So much better. With lasting results. Over the years ive run into the guy and hes turned into someone we genuinely care about. Five years ago is when sean opened his detailing shop in santa rosa and he started noticing david, a man who lived in an apartment directly across the street. I moved in, and im working and i would always see him give me a look like he wanted to say something, but he was a little passive and he didnt want to say too much to somebody. So this is where hes seen me and he would sit on the end of the curb here right by the edge of the gate. So sean decided to make the first move. Right on the curb, right in the middle, you could say, of their two worlds. I was taking a break one day. It was hot, and it was summertime and i grabbed myself and i went and sat down on the curb and i said hi, whats up, im sean. And he looked at me kind of funny and he said im david. Ive been here six years. Sean soon learned david was on his own and struggling a bit. Having spent time on and off in institutions for Mental Health
