Extra frightening, because just before the pounding and kicking started, the power suddenly went how fast. When they arrived there, one individual turned off the electricity in the home in an attempt to scare them out. A second individual actually used a knife to try to break through the front door. Reporter Mountain View Police Arrested these five people including the landlord herself, for, among other charges, breaking and entering and assault with a deadly weapon. A neighbor said he heard it happen. I was cooking dinner, and i heard the commotion. I saw the i mean, im hearing banging. I varisaid, hey, knock that off. Police say the violence was over a rental dispute. Unfortunately, rather than going through peaceful ways to solve this, the landlord brought in a friend who brought in other individuals as well to try to go to the home that evening to try to physically and forcibly remove the family from the home. Reporter the family says they would rather not talk on camera since they were just attacked. Theyre a married couple with three children. They say they just moved in, thought they had an agreement for set price, but the property manager started harassing them and then the attack happened. It was like, you know, there was a dog involved too. Reporter the pd confirms the attackers did in fact have a dog with them. The family tells us theyre looking for new place to live. Traffic slowing to a call on westbound lanes of 580, san pablo exit in oakland. Chpc says officers chased a driver who ended up ramming her car into a van and then a squared car. One officer fired at the car but missed. They managed to arrest the woman. They say she appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The driver and the passenger in the van were not hurt. All lanes of 580 are back to normal tonight. A star engineer accused of stealing secrets about selfdriving cars from google and selling them to uber. That engineer, Anthony Levandowski, surrendered to u. S. Marshals in san jose today and answered to charges in federal court. Nbc bay areas Marianne Favro is there with more. Reporter Anthony Levandowski pled not guilty in federal court. A judge ordered him to wear an ankle bracelet until he returns to court next week. Anthony levandowski, considered a selfdriving car pioneer, is now accused of stealing closely guarded secrets from google. U. S. Attorney David Anderson announced the indictment today in san jose. Levandowski downloaded to his google computer approximately 14,000 google files, including critical engineering information. Reporter in the high stakes race to build robotic vehicles, investigators say the files could be worth millions of dollars. Levandowski is accused of stealing confidential files from the driverless car division of google, called waymo. Prosecutors say that helped him start a selfdriving trucking company, auto. He then sold auto to uber for 680 million. Levandowskis Attorney Says he had full authorization to access the files in question. Anthony levandowski is innocent of these charges. He never stole or attempted to steal anything, period. The government has it dead wrong. Reporter the fbi, which has investigated the case for more than two years, says the files were stolen. In this case, we have the allegation of an insider stealing information from a companys servers. And that includes the development of selfdriving vehicles. Reporter he says the fbi is cracking down on trade secret thefts because not only do they hurt individual companies, they can impact the u. S. Economy. Silicon valley is not the wild west. Tmz released audio of cousins allegedly telling his ex that he would shoot her in the head. They were arguing over allowing their 7yearold son to attend cousins wedding to another woman. Cousins signed with the lakers but tore his acl and could miss the season. The lakers say theyre gathering information and they take the claim seriously. Vandals have defaced a brandnew mural at a high school. It features civil rights leader cesar chavez. An artist painted it on Lowell Elementary School near downtown. Vandals did this damage overnight, you can see it there. Teachers and Community Leaders are in shock. Very heartbreaking. We gather donations, we gathered volunteers. We raised funds to hire a muralist to paint it. All that work, probably one to two days of work in the hot sun, bringing the Community Together to beautify this campus and to have it wiped away in three seconds, its just heartbreaking. Heartbreaking for a lot of people, as she said. Adding insult to injury, the school painted over the entire defaced mural today. The muralist was unaware his artwork had been erased. The School District is urging any witnesses to call police. Another twist in the case of a man caught on camera attacking a woman outside a condo on embarcadero. Check this out, a couple of weeks ago Police Arrested Austin Vincent after he was caught right there on video violently trying to keep that woman from getting into the watermark condo in San Francisco. He was released shortly after and rearrested when someone came forward after seeing vincent on tv. That person told police vincent attacked some other people with a knife along the embarcadero in february. Turns out it wasnt him, he was living in Southern California at the time. Those charges have been dropped. Vincents Attorney Says he will ask a judge to release him with an ankle monitor as he awaits trial for that condo attack. A teacher at Richmond High School is in jail tonight, accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student. That student came forward yesterday and Police Arrested the teacher right on campus. Reporter yeah, raj, parents say they are highly disturbed by these allegations. Police say the inappropriate relationship between teacher and student started last april, continued through the summer, and went all the way through last week. The first week of school. Tonight, the teacher is behind bars. Its very unfortunate, something that you dont expect would happen, especially with somebody that a child is supposed to trust. Reporter thats how many parents are feeling after learning Police Arrested a Richmond High School teacher for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 15yearold student. Police say the student came forward to a School Resource officer, claiming it began last april and continued until just last week. The student made the officer aware yesterday of the allegations. The School Resource officer followed up on those allegations and determined that an arrest needed to be made. Reporter Police Arrested the teacher on campus yesterday after school, on 15 counts of lewd acts on a child. The School District said the principal learned about the arrest just minutes before it happened. Its a disappointment. The alleged behavior is something that is not tolerated. Obviously the teacher has been placed on leave already. And we will continue to cooperate with the Richmond Police department. Reporter the district notified parents and students today. Parents say theyre outraged, while none of the alleged act happened on school grounds. Some say they dont feel comfortable keeping their kids at richmond high. A. , san diego, seattle, denver, phoenix, those flights will most likely be the ones delayed or maybe even canceled. It all begins a week from this saturday. The runway in need of repair is the longest one, the one used most by arriving flights. Its known as 28 left. 68 of the flights in or out of sfo use some or all of it. It was repaved, but during that repair core samples found the Rock Foundation beneath the asphalt was cracking. So nearly 2,000 feet of 28 left will be dug up and relayed starting september 7th and finishing on the 27th. Its after the summer rush and before the winter rains. Reporter he says thats the sweet spot for repairing. But doing without 28 left is going to require patience. They go from 60 planes an hour down to 30 planes an hour. Reporter if they come in late, theyll be going out left. Two years ago when it was being repaved, there were 155 cancellations on just a single day. If you are taking off, trying to get out as early as you can reporter delays will start piling up on flights coming in and going out after 10 00 a. M. Half unit united passengers are being lowed to change their flights at no cost but Alaska Airlines hasnt yet announced whether they will follow suit. Flights from San Francisco across the country may face delays. But cancellation of those crosscountry flights are unlikely. And there is no reason to change your international flight, those will be the ones that are the most protected, the least likely to be delayed or canceled.
