We talked to the lawyer, they say they have no comment. The school board also no comment. But what we know is that linder did surrender yesterday ordered to pay 18,000 in restitution and now faces possible criminal charges. This man, School Board Member and treasurer of the yes on measure j Campaign John linder may be in more trouble than for just allegedly stealing money. This case apparently there wasnt anyone looking over the treasurers back. To hide the money linder filed mandatory disclosure forms claiming all the money was still there. But at some point he had to terminate the committee. In january of 2016 he filed a termination report. But before doing that he had to show how the money was spent. He did so by allegedly claiming payments to fake accounts. So what he reported was that he had disposed of the money by making about 13,000 in contributions to what were written as, unnamed civic recipients. All the donations were under 100 which is unusual. And thats what raised red flags. That infeweriates me. This man was a grandson in the school district.
