Reporter well, investigators here at the Sheriffs Office have made tracking down these two escapees a top priority and say they have been getting a lot of tips from the public, which paid off. A passer by caught the sound of gunfire from a chp officer outside a walmart. They converged on the two inmates. One was recaptured, the other got away. The two pulled off a daring escape from a palo alto courthouse on november 6 while facing charges for an armed robbery. Sheriff investigators tracked the two to stockton. Any reason why, like family connections or anything like that . As far as the specifics of why they were in stockton, i dont have that information at this time. Reporter they were spotted in a green Ford Explorer on highway 5 yesterday evening. Chp ended up tracing them on to trinity parkway where mcclue ran into the Walmart Store and was eventually arrested. Bivens may have driven towards chp officers. One opened fire but arent sure if he was hit. Here is another picture of him caught on a store surveillance camera. Bivens escaped from custody, avoided chp and there was an officerinvolved shooting so hes dangerous. Obviously a dangerous individual. Has a prior history of acquiring weapons. In terms of realtime delays, the only ones were seeing is in newark running 51 minutes behind. In fact mostly cloudy skies here for the east bay. 72 in walnut creek, 71 in pleasanton and 67 in oakland. Also clouded up throughout the peninsula. 69 in palo alto.
