Further our goal of strengthening the Constitutional Order and the rule of law in america, the department of justice cannot defend this overreach. Well, now we are getting reaction from leaders in congress. House Speaker Paul Ryan says in part, it is my hope that the house and senate with the president s leadership will be able to find a consensus on a permanent lejs laifsh solution that includes ensuring that those who have done nothing wrong can still contribute as valued parts of this great country. Minority leader nancy pelosi called the decision a master class in cowardice. She called for bipartisan action, saying lawmakers must pass legislation to safeguard our young dreamers from the senseless cruelty of deportation and shield families from separation and heartbreak. This midday we have Live Team Coverage of the decision of daca. Scott mcgrew is standing by with whats left for daca, and we have bob riddell live as they came to this decision. Reporter they scolded President Trump saying he showed heart in his decision to wind down daca a cold heart. Within the past hour at a News Conference at the santa clara civic center, cindy chavez along with other county leaders vowed to fight on behalf of the 24,000 Daca Recipients who live in the county and that they will be looking into legal action against the federal government to stop the president from ending this program that helps more than 800,000 undocumented youths nationwide. The county announced this morning that its office of m immigrant relations will be holding informational workshops in the coming days to inform Daca Recipients whose memberships are about to expire. And they will help Daca Recipients with Mental Health issues. I for one am not surprised that the president of the United States took the moral compass of this country, and once again, threw it to the ground. I heaurge every dreamer out there impacted by todays decision to remain hopeful. Thats the Silicon Valley and thats absolutely the Santa Clara County way. We will not go down without a fight. It means being constantly in anger, constantly fighting for something to be an immigrant in this country. So yes, i am angry. San jose mayor said, quote, weve got your back. I will seek to challe ennge the administrations actions in court, after consulting with our council and City Attorney regarding our options here today. The mayor of San Francisco is expected to respond to the daca decision at a News Conference later this afternoon at 1 00. Reporting live in san jose, bob redell, nbc bay area news. Thanks, bob. Scott mcgrew is here to explain the decision firthurther. We heard from Jeff Sessions calling it a president ial overreach. There are a lot of people who would agree with him from a constitutional point of view. President obama created daca as a president ial order, some that many states, including texas, say was unconstitutional. Heres Jeff Sessions version. In other words, the executive branch through daca deliberately sought to achieve what the legislative branch specifically refused to authorize on multiple occasions. So trump, speaking through sessions, wants congress to go back and pass comprehensive immigration reform. But remember, congress is also facing a full schedule, and worse, the president has a terrible relationship with congress. The president is supposed to meet with Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell today, but reports say the president and mcconnell havent been on speaking terms since their argument over the phone described as a profanitylaced shouting match. One thing sessions said this morning i think really does need to be cleared up. He said, quote, failure to enforce the laws in the past has put our nation at risk for crime and violence and even terrorism, he said, while talking about daca. I understand hes speaking generally, but be clear, no daca recipient has ever been convicted of a serious, violent crime, much lester richs terror. You cant register for daca. I think he misspoke or gave people the wrong impression. Yerks i ws, i was listening , too, and that was one of the criteria of becoming a dreamer. Were also live in San Francisco this morning. Youre tracking it and it could be majorly destructive. This will make major headlines, and for people in the caribbean, they have nowhere to go as the storm barrels toward those islands and has wind speeds of 185 miles an hour. A lot of hurricanes in effect and it is moving closer to antigua right now, as well as st. Martin, puerto rico. It looks like the storm will continue on as a major hurricane as it continues to gather strength over some very warm caribbean waters. As it moves closer to the Dominican Republic and haiti, still looking at very strong wind speeds, at least a category 5. That could come down to a category 4 and may move over the bahamas near cuba. But you see this large cone where there still will be some uncertainty as we go into the weekend on the exact track of this hurricane, but some of the spaghetti plots there of the different computer models show where they are plotting this hurricane. Of course, its not just a thin line, its a very large storm, and ironically, the size of texas right now as a category 5 hurricane could move into hurricane. Could move into miami as a category 4, so well be watching that. Right behind irma is a category 3. You can see those two storms out there in the atlantic and this one may also develop into a hurricane over the next few days, but notice the track kind of shifts it a little fartherco the north, so this may stay out in the open waters, which would be awesome news if we could see that happen. As we bring things back home, well continue to keep you updated on that storm throughout the week. Looks pretty good right here in the bay area, but still very smokey and hazy. Not the best time to spend a lot of Time Outdoors because the poor air quality, and temperatures now that are in the mid70s to lower 80s as you get ready to head out. Were looking at high temperatures today that will be reaching into the mid80s today in san jose. Upper 80s for morgan hill and gilroy up to 89 degrees. For the east bay, up to 89 degrees in danville. And hayward expecting a high of 82 degrees. For the peninsula, san mateo, 78 degrees. Palo alto 82. And some mid70s for San Francisco while the north bay will still have that high humidity. A slight chance of a spotty shower and temperatures reaching up to 83 in santa rosa. Speaking of showers, there will be a lot of rain happening in the sierra, but for the Central Valley and the bay area, were looking at mainly dry conditions. Then as we head into thursday, there will be a very weak and quickmoving disturbance moving by. It will bring us more clouds but also a very slight chance of some light showers. So thats something well be watching for thursday. In the meantime, it looks like we will have some much improved weather over the temperatures we have to deal with over the weekend, and in San Francisco in the upper 60s. Warming up just a bit for the weekend. Humidity drops tomorrow so that will make it feel a lot nicer, then for the weekend, warming up to the upper 80s to lower 90s with some sunshine, and overall looking like a very nice forecast.
