indonesia where crews have reached the site of a deadly passenger plane crash. bill nealy has the latest on the investigation. good morning to you. >> good morning, matt. a tragedy with 54 dead, but not the mystery we have seen with other plane crashes in the past year. the two black box flight recorders have been recovered along with all of the bodies. the plane was carrying three babies, two other children, and 49 adults. it took often heavy rain and fog and lost contact half an hour later, crashing into dense juggle on a mountainside. so dense some planes that have crashed there have never been found. this one was spotted from the air but search teams still had to hike for two days to reach it. it was carrying nearly half a million dollar in cash for local villages. that money not found. the plane totally destroyed. the airline has a dreadful safety record. it's lost ten planes in 20 years and it's the third deadly air disaster in indonesia in just the past year. for people in this remote area, planes are their only way out. all the dead here indonesian. matt. >> bill in london, thanks very much. meantime, politics, the number of e-mails from hillary clinton's time as secretary of state now flagged for potentially classified information is topping 300, and the number is expected to go even higher. kristen welker is in nevada where clinton is campaigning today. good morning. >> savannah, good morning. as questions mount about hillary clinton's e-mail e-mails, her c is urging supporters not to panic. at issue, intelligence community reviewers have expressed concerns more than 300 documents from her private e-mails may have contained private information. in a court filing yesterday, those reviewers asked that the e-mails undergo further review before the state department releases them to the public. this is all part of the state department' efforts to release all of her e-mails to the public. the clinton campaign continues to insist she never sent or received any e-mails that were marked as classified. meanwhile, this comes as we're getting our first glimpse at a meeting that secretary clinton had after a campaign event in new hampshire last week with black lives matters protesters. it became somewhat tense at moments. take a look. >> i don't believe you change hearts. i believe you change laws, you change allocation of resources. you change thailand, already on edge. >> tense moments once again in bangkok after a second explosion in the capital. it comes just a day after monday's deadly bomb blast that killed 22 people and injured more than 100 others. today's explosion was at a ferry pier. no one was hurt. surveillance video shows, as you see, a sudden blast of water dousing people on the pier as others run away. cell phone video shows the terrifying moments of monday's explosion outside the shrine in bangkok. police are looking for a suspect seen on surveillance video. the man in the yellow shirt you see here is the suspect they're after. the irs says the cyberattack on the agency earlier this year is far worse than they feared. back in may, the agency said criminals stole personal information for more than 100,000 taxpayers. now they say data on 338,000 taxpayers may have been compromised. they'll try to use the information to file fake tax returns next year, so the irs is sending letters to taxpayers whose accounts may have been accessed, offering a new identification number to verify next year's return. >> one man was killed monday night when an amtrak train slammed into a car in central florida. police say the driver was attempting to go around the railroad crossing gate just before it was hit by the southbound amtrak train. no one on the train was hurt. a couple of robbers in pittsburgh learned the hard way not to bring a machete to a sword fight. the incident all caught on camera. the men attempted to rob a store armed with a foot-long knife, but the cashier responded to the threat >> very good question. the thing is that it's also difficult to measure these what we call these outcome measures. how do you determine whether or not a drug has such a benefit? i will say i go back to the side effects of this drug. very important that especially mixed with alcohol there are a lot of i want actions that i think in the right patient, patient selection is very, very important. but for the women who used it, certainly the studies would suggest, that there is a statistically and probably clinically meaningful benefit. >> it is striking a nerve. there are a lot of women say wait, why are there all of these treatments for men and nothing for women who struggle with this? >> right. i think in some ways it has been politicized. you'll see critics on both sides having something to an elite boarding school. >> any comments as the trial gets under way? >> then 18-year-old owen labrie is accused of raping a freshman on the roof of a school building. not just any sch prestigious st. paul's in new hampshire where tuition tops $50,000 a year. its alumni include secretary of state john kerry, former fbi director robert mueller, actors, bankers, and members of congress. according to a search warrant, one of the school's counsellors told police there's a horrible tradition at the boarding school called the senior salute in which a senior e-mails a younger student regarding a conquest before they graduate. in an interview with a detective, labrie describes sexual scoreboards in which other boys kept a tally of their conquests on a wall and online. he denied senior salute had anything to do with the rooftop encounter with the girl. labrie, who plans to study theology at harvard told police they kissed and then he experienced a moment of divine inspiration, and stopped himself from going any further. a friend tells nbc news labrie comes from a modest background, that he was beloved by classmates who rallied around him and raised money for his defense. in a written statement, st. paul says current allegations about our culture are not emblematic of our school or our values. >> it would be great if the senior girls and guys could stand up and say, these rights and traditions are not things i want my sisters and others to engage in. and therefore, we need to stop it. >> labrie has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges of sexual assault. >> it's traumatic for any citizen to be put on trial for any offense, never mind a serious offense. that's the case with owen. >> later today, the jury of 11 men and 3 women is scheduled to visit the school and tour this 15-year-old girl, but it's alleged privily he told another student they did have sex and he knew she was underaged and he went to the police without a lawyer and spoke to them. is that admissible. >> it may be admissible. they're going to debate what he said and whether some of what he said to the police and his friends goes to what was more truthful than what he may want to deny now that he's facing trial. >> there's one piece of physical evidence here, a laceration that according to some is consistent with sexual assault. might this entire case hinge on that? >> it will certainly be the biggest piece of non-testimonial evidence. that's he said, she said, and then this physical evidence which the prosecution believes goes to her point that this physical act occurred. he's saying it stopped well short of intercourse. >> the attorney in this county was heard in court yesterday in kind of an unguarded moment saying that the senior salute, which is what this conquest is apparently called on campus, will play a prominent role in this case. is that a good strategy for the prosecution to put the school on trial at the same time you put this young man on trial? >> it may be, and here's why. what the prosecution needs to argue is not that this was some sort of hijinx or simply consensual relationship between two individuals that got out of hand or was misunderstood but rather this defendant had a plan to go in and do this with or without consent to someone he e knew to be young, under new hampshire law, too young, and this senior salute goes to his mental state in the prosecution's view. >> if this was a well known horrible tradition at this school, couldn't that be a double-edged sword. if you're the defense, don't you say this young lady might have known about this and should have never been in that situation in that remote location? >> that is typically considered a good defense for adults. when everything turns on consent. here, there are three charges relating to consent and rape. three more than are just about her youth, meaning it doesn't matter what she thought, what she thought she was entering into, it was illegal even if she said it if you felt embarrassed to be sitting in the caboose, some airlines bet you will pay to avoid feeling the same way again. if it feels like you are being nickelled and dimed every time you buy an airline ticket you are not alone. >> it's getting more expensive. >> i go with the cheapest one i can find. >> reporter: some passenger rights advocates have a name for a new marketing practice they call upselling. reeling in customers with promises of low fathers and encouraging them to pay for extras from better seats to early boarding privileges. they claim delta is among the airlines taking it to a new low by warning passengers who are about to buy a basic economy seat that they will be the last to board and the last to access overhead bin space unless they choose to upgrade. critics charge delta is shaming customers into paying more. >> airlines are trying to upsell you on things -- pay for your bag, for extra leg room on your seat and the way to do it is to shame you to then pay more for anything extra. >> reporter: the costs add up quickly. earlier boarding, a better seat, extra legroom, checked bags can add hundreds more to an airline ticket. a delta spokesperson tells nbc news the company is only providing pricing transparent si to customers. we don't want anyone to select something they ultimately didn't want to purchase. but consumer advocates say the transparency only goes so far since airlines don't disclose additional fees up front. >> where delta says they will be transparent about what we are not going to get, they are not transparent about how much it will cost us. >> reporter: even ultra low cost carriers like spirit airlines encouraged customers to pile on extras, sometimes using almost passive-aggressive language. not interested in joining the $9 fare club? you have to click "no, i don't want to save." for many passengers every flight gets more expensive. spirit airlines tells nbc news when we sell these fares on our website we are transparent about what the very low fares provide and what they don't. the bare fares allow customers who purchase tickets to travel for less money so they can have more money in their pocket to spend when they reach their destination. what's the takeaway for consumers? don't be swayed by low base fares. be prepared to pay more. where will you sit, do you have to pay for access to overhead bins, how much is the cost to check a bag? and comparison shop as best you can. if one airline is cheaper than the other do the seats compare? i said, call 911. that was all i said. >> well, siri answered. minutes later the dispatcher on the 911 call answered and christina lee was the dispatcher. here is what she has to say about the life-saving call. >> it was scary. i was hopeful. i didn't know if he could hear me. it was a shot in the dark. i kept yelling so if he could hear me he would know help is on the way. >> that's an incredible story. sam had broken ribs, damage to his kidney. he's still recovering from the accident. he had burns on his face. he said he thinks that the reason he survived was for a real purpose and a reason in life. he wants to go into the ministry. >> his dad is a baptist pastor. >> amazing. he'll be headed to college in mississippi to possibly do that, follow in his father's foot steps. >> incredible. >> a lot of people get annoyed when siri goes off. but there is a reason. it can be life saving technology. >> you know how many times you say, siri, directions. blah, blah, i don't understand you. >> or my kids ask ridiculous questions of siri. >> siri comes up with good answers. >> really good. >> this is a great story. sunday morning seattle police pull over a car running red lights. so they pulled him over. turns out the driver is taking his pregnant wife who was in labor to the hospital. it was all caught on dash cam. check it out. >> in labor? in san jose and fremont. the southbound lanes are going to remain solid green for about one week or so, so the drivers can get accustomed to the change. next week, northbound lights will be turned on for the first time for the morning commute. and the south bay's largest body of water a victim of the ongoing drought. anderson reservoir in morgan hill is closed to all boating due to low water than first feared. in may it said hackers stole personal information from more than 100,000 taxpayers. it now admits the number was three times higher than that. it says hackers may try to file fake returns next year to steal refunds. the irs plans to offer free credit monitoring to taxpayers whose information was compromised. a new study suggesting coffee may help patients with colon cancer. researchers at the dana farber cancer institute in boston looked at a thousand people with stage three oh lon canncolon cay underwent surgery and chemotherapy. it followed up a year later. those who drank four or more cups of coffee a day were less likely to die from cancer and 42% less likely to have a recurrence. they say more study is needed to find out why. the fda is expected to announce whether it is approving or rejecting a drug some are calling the female viagra. the drug is flebanstrin and works on the female's libido with brain chemistry. when it comes to families, bigger is
