airbnb shooting case. police say they've made five arrests and there could be >> reporter: many of those neighbors have been on edge but tonight they're relieved. the sheriff confirmed they had video of several of those suspects walking inside that party and hiding firearms in their pants minutes prior to the shooting. two rival gang members were among those killed at the orinda halloween party. >> it was a bloodbath inside the home. >> reporter: a horrific homicide scene inside the four bedroom airbnb rental. there were shell casings all over the floors and counter tops. >> ramon hill and he's a known associate of the -- street gang in san francisco and had convictions for assault with a firearm, and he was on parole at the time of his death. also inside the home deceased was -- >> reporter: five people were killed that night including gang members hill and county who the sheriff confirmed were both armed. five suspects are behind bars in connection with the shooting including devin williamson, the promoter of the event. the others were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy. >> we heard the tires racing up and down the street and people sobbing and crying. >> reporter: many neighbors expressed relief after the arrests but now on changes. >> i feel responsible for helping these families have some assurance that the factors that made this possible will be at least reduced in the future. >> reporter: the sheriff confirmed there was an attempt to steal property during the party. >> the blame rests specifically o the individuals that carried guns into that party. >> reporter: now two main questions remain unanswered at this point. who might have shot who and what might have sparked this shooting. >> thank you. new developments tonight tiffany lee ran from the courthouse a free woman today more than three years after the death of keith green, her ex-boyfriend and the father of her children. >> prosecutors say lee conspired with her boyfriend to kill green over a custody dispute. after deliberating for 12 days jurors acquitted lee but were deadlocked resulting in a hung jury. his mother was shocked by lee's acquittal. >> shathey had a family togethe and she just threw him out on the street with nothing and refused to let him see his children. >> the defense claimed adela was the real killer. he ended up back behind bars after breaking the terms of that deal. the gunman of the shooting in santa clarita has died. he shot five of his classmates. the sheriff said he appeared to have counted the bullets as he fired saving the last bullet fo unregistered firearms from the gunman's home as they tried determine a motive. friends of the suspect were stunned saying the teen showed no signs of aggression. >> he seemed like a normal kid. he former ambassador to ukraine marie yovanovitch publicly testified how she felt threatened about the president's remark, he was tweeting new insults at her. >> reporter: in vivid detail the former u.s. ambassador to ukraine recalled what he described as a smear campaign by the president's allies to oust her from her post. >> foreign service professionals are being denigrated and und undermined. >> reporter: and outlining how early on she allegedly became collateral damage of president trump's alleged shadow diplomacy in ukraine. the president eventually had the 33-year veteran diplomat removed in may earlier this year. the president mentioned her in his infamous july 25th phone call in which he called her bad news and said, quote, she's going to go through some things. >> sounded like the threat. >> reporter: and the president taking aim on youia vun vch on twitter. >> the president in realtime is attacking you. what effect do you think that has on other witness' willingness to come forward and expose wrongdoing? >> well, it's very intimidating. >> reporter: republicans also distancing themselves from the president's comments and commending the former ambassador. >> you're tough as nails and you're smart as hell. >> reporter: but during the hearing gop lawmakers repeatedly pointed out yovanovitch was removed prior to the events at the center of the impeachment investigation. meanwhile a new witness, david holmes, appeared before congress friday evening. he testified he overheard the july 25th phone call conversation in which the president allegedly inquired about the ukraine investigations. andanders spoke to the 2020 tonight in fresno. the rally was focused on climate change and the green new deal. sanders also touched on his plans to legalize marijuana nationwide and change president trump's immigration policies. sanders also talked to the crowd about the importance of california in the election. he says the candidate who wins the state has a, quote, excellent chance to win the nomination. and earlier today sanders was in the bay area. he brought his wife to oakland. the union endorsed sanders, not too surprising since he has a relationship with the union and has had one for years. today the senator who has been an early proponent for medicare for all spoke their language about health care and ways to make it more equitable. >> medicare for all is not an idea that came to you yesterday. you have led this country in the understanding that health care is a human right, not a privilege. >> sanders says if elected he will introduce his plan in the first week of his presidency. next sanders heads to los angeles and long beach for events through sunday. >> and sanders will be a part of the democratic presidential candidate forum this sunday right here on abc 7. five candidates will participate in that forum, which is focused on latino issues. sanders, pete buttigieg, kamala harris, tom steyer, and julian castro will be questioned fighting against what doctors say could be his last days. dion lim brings us the story of ramone sanders and his family determined to beat the odds. >> honestly, it's been hard but i try to stay strong for him. his mom and dad, his sisters and everyone else. >> reporter: surrounded by family and friends talking to us from his hospital bed via face time 19-year-old sanders is in surprisingly good spirits. it is the love from his family and 1-year-old daughter. >> she's really a reflection of him, she's goofy like him. >> reporter: that keeps this one thriving football player positive during what doctors are saying could be his last days. >> they're saying that they have a feeling the cancer is back in his lungs and it's causing him to have a lot of bleeding. >> reporter: ramone is now in hospice. we first met him one year ago when he broke his leg on the football field. a seemingly routine break turned out to be bone cancer. since then an incredible out pouring of support. ramone went into remission, things were looking >> it was a long struggle. >> reporter: until just this week, until this latest prognosis. >> we know ramone is going to be okay, no matter what the doctors say. we serve a god that do above in everything. >> reporter: her name by the way is heaven spelled backyards, his little piece of heaven on earth. he kept saying something about four weeks during our face time interview. she says it's because ramone believes he'll be out of the hospital in just four weeks. he also has big dreams to start a sports camp for kids. new at 11:00, a giant drug bust in santa cruz county. yesterday deputies served a search warrant at what they say was an illegal hash oil lab and marijuana operation. they found 5,400 pounds of cannabis and also hundreds of counterfeit vape pens and an ice cream freezer truck full of several thousand pounds of cannabis materials. dudgeoness crab season has been delayed. that delay is due to poor crab meat quality test results. in sonoma county and south the season opens november 22nd. crab season had already been delayed earlier this month to prevent whales from getting tangled up in crab lines. if you wear these, you have to ask yourself about the last time you cleaned your eye lash extensions. doctors say they're seeing more cases of lash lice. they can be dangerous, and they can spread. >> reporter: some and what may even more alarming. >> it's an ormism that lives on hair follicles and can transfer to anyone. generally the idea when you have eye lash extensions people are afraid to kind of touch them or wash them because they're afraid of the eyelashes will fall out. >> reporter: so the doctor says cleaning your eyelids is critical. >> we recommend a ptea petea pte cleanser. >> reporter: tea tree oil is an essential treatment for hair, skin and nails and can be anti-bacterial, but it's a good idea to give your eyes a break from eye lash extensions every now and then. >> i guess if you wear the time goes by, gets a little lighter and comes back in. watch out. the fog is there on live doppler 7. i want to show you the visibility right now down to 0 in petaluma. napa down to 3 miles, so definitely something to look out for tomorrow morning if you have early plans. temperatures now in the 40s and the 50s. if you're making plans for tomorrow and you're wondering how those temperatures are going to shape up, let's take a look at some of those cities here. san jose and concord in the upper 50s and by the afternoon pretty mild in the 70s for both locations. a live picture right now from our emeriville camera as we look across the bay back towards san francisco. visibility here on that side is good. here's a look at the fog from our east bay hills camera. is that cool or what? foggy morning for the coast and bay. dense in spots, sunny and warmer over the weekend. sunnier and cooler conditions for next week. there will be fog around that will limit the visibility for the morning hours. so early plans give yourself plenty of time and for the afternoon enjoy the sunshine. it was around warmer today. that warming trend continues tomorrow. 72 san jose, on the peninsula and hang onto a little bit of fog in daly city. and downtown san francisco, 66 degrees. north bay numbers low 70s for vallejo to petaluma. east bay, 68 oakland, 69 fremont, 68 caster valley. pretty comfortable weather, inland areas on the mild side. 75 in concord, 73 degrees in pleasa pleasa pleasanton. notice wednesday the see era starts to see snow, southern california gets rain, very tiny possibility for us. it doesn't look very good for us. but certainly some rain and snow for other parts of the state. warming trend for the weekend, temperatures in the low 80s by monday inland, low [ applause ] not the love you think you want but the love we all really, i think, want in our hearts, that pure love, that unconditional love. so we're talking about that. and joining the conversation in cyber hall -- marine cavanaugh in danvers, massachusetts, watching on wcvb, kimberly watson, bastrop, louisiana, wtve, and abid biedi of frisco, texas. i'll be near frisco very soon, celebrating thanksgiving with my family, so we're a stone's throw away. i'll come over for turkey, so alright, this story caught our attention here. celebrity hair stylist sally hershberger's salon here in new york -- they've been fined $70,000 for violating discrimination law. now, the law -- the salon was accused or has accused -- the salon was accused -- let me get this right -- of telling workers to not wear afros or box braids, natural hairstyles. the salon manager texted someone saying -- the front desk at the salon -- "we look like we should be on east 134th street." okay, for people who don't know what that means, that is harlem, where there are black- and brown-owned salons. this salon is downtown in a more affluent, if you will, neighborhood. well, this is the first settlement since the city passed rules banning hair-based discrimination for employees, e dsing, and public facilities. interesting that we even need a law for this. let me get you to stand up. come on, show off these braids. you didn't stand in the salon for six hours for nothing. [ laughter ] [ applause ] >> oh, my god. >> i actually wore braids last year. before we started the show, i had braids for a second in my hair. it never occurred to me that you would need a law to protect people. first of all, what's your name? >> tracy. >> have you ever felt judged by people with your hair? >> sometimes. >> in what way? >> sometimes when i go to different, you know, a store or like a department store, i will see them watching me because i have braids in my hair or something like that. >> and you think they're assuming what about you? >> i don't know. maybe they think, like, i'm gonna steal something because i got my braids in my hair or i'm, like, ratchet because i got we actually have -- thank you so much for sharing the story -- our production assistant brianna armstead is standing here. she has her hair -- you look like you're a hostage. [ laughter ] she has her hair straight right now. you normally wear it natural. >> yes. >> and we have a picture of you. this is what your hair most days looks like. have you ever -- not here at the "tamron hall show." >> no. >> but other places, did you ever feel judged by the way you wear your hair? >> all the time. when i first entered the workforce, i was so fearful. i never saw any other women that had their natural hair out, so i became so discouraged that i stopped wearing my natural hair altogether. i always had it straight. it was really fearful for me, and i remember when i first graduated college, i decided that i was gonna get box braids before i started my first job, and i reached out to my mother, and she said, "you know what? that's not a good idea. you don't know how that will be received in the work environment." so i canceled the appointment, and it was really hard for me. it was a tough decision. i don't understand why my work ethic is deemed -- >> tied to the way your hair looks. >> yeah. >> and it's not here at the "tamron hall show." that's why you're here. you're fabulous. >> yes. >> and your parents are very proud of you. [ cheers and applause ] so, new york is not the first state to have a law like this. california actually has never become the first state to ban -- was the first state to ban discrimination based on natural hairstyles. they went a step further. they say employees and even public-school students should not be discrinin because of the way they wear their hair. it's called the crown act. it actually takes effect january 1st. well, california governor gavin newsom enacted this law, and he joins us now from our affiliate kcra in sacramento. governor, thank you so much for your time. [ applause ] >> great to be with you. hello, everybody. >> i know that, like the rest of us, you saw this video that went viral last year of this wrestler, this young boy, who, in new jersey, had his hair cut right before the mat because the person overseeing the wrestling match said it was not appropriate. this resonated with you to see this child crying his eyes out, getting his hair just ripped out of his head, it seemed, and this ea i mean, imakes yourportant to oobut it also kes you deeply empathetic to watch another human being put in that humiliating position. his personal pride and then his desire to compete and to see the people around him trying to sort of prop him out, but to see that hair cut off for no good reason, that was sort of, for us, the flag that we recognized needed to be planted in terms of a pushback against that kind of discrimination that happens every single day in this country, not just in high-profile instances like that, but as you say, in schools, not just in professional situations and places of work, so we're really proud of california taking the lead, and we're hoping other states, not just the city of new york, but other states across the country do the same. >> we know new jersey did something -- took action as well, but, you know, again, it's 2019.
