Nitish's collaboration with George Fernandes led to the formation of the Samata Party in 1994. Despite initial alliances with the BJP, Nitish later distanced himself, achieving success as Chief Minister of Bihar in 2005. His tenure saw improvements in infrastructure and education. However, by 2010, complacency set in, and an alliance with the BJP fractured in 2014 due to differences with Narendra Modi. Nitish faced setbacks, resigned in 2015, and later formed alliances with the RJD and Congress. The subsequent dissolution of partnerships, especially with the BJP in 2022.
