Updated: 10:35 PM EST Mar 11, 2021 WXII12.com Web Staff The Iredell County Sheriff`s Office has canceled an Amber Alert after police suspected two young children were abducted by their mother, Amanda Redmon. The children were found and Redmon is in custody in Georgia, according to police. Police said detectives received a call March 10 that claimed a mother who was not supposed to be along with her children or driving with her children was driving with her children to the beach.Detectives responded to the residence where the missing children were supposed to be staying with a grandparent. The children's grandmother told detectives Redmon took the children to get breakfast Tuesday morning, which was the last time she had seen the children or Redmon, according to officers.Detectives said they were able to verify that Redmon was not allowed to be alone with the children, had to be supervised while with the children and was not allowed to drive alone with the children. They then set out to find Redmon and the children, confirming they were outside of North Carolina.Felony Child Abduction arrest warrants were obtained for Redmon, and the children were entered as missing and endangered, according to police.Redmon and the children were later spotted in College Park, Georgia, according to police. Redmon was arrested and the children were found, authorities said.
