Apart from the rail mode of transport, some empty cryogenic tankers from Pune were airlifted to Jamshedpur, West Bengal, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to fill in oxygen. Two flights with 3-4 containers reached Delhi on Friday and the entire process took about 2-3 hours.

Smaller towns in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh will be getting a fresh load of oxygen containers as the second round of roll on-roll off Oxygen Express run by the Indian Railways has reached Nashik, Nagpur and some parts of Uttar Pradesh.
