'The kids had so much fun'
Despite Wednesday’s cool morning air, dozens of Holy Ghost Lutheran School students found a different way to get to school.
About 40 students, from kindergartners to eighth-graders, celebrated National Bike to School Day by riding their bikes to school.
"It was a success. The kids had so much fun," said Tammy Schmidt, mom of a fifth-grade student.
According to national organizers, Bike to School Day “celebrates the joy of active commuting while building a sense of community and school spirit.”
Holy Ghost students from five classrooms set out from five starting points. The routes were about a mile from school.
