GIRLS SOCCER: Abington gets teamwide contributions to down Neshaminy in District 1-4A opener

ABINGTON — As she makes the long walk to the penalty spot, Sara Kaeser can’t help but think about it. The junior, a defensive anchor for Abington at center back, is used to going to the other end of the field but usually at a jog or sprint running up to be a target on a corner or free kick before jolting back to defense. When it’s time to take a penalty kick, everything changes. Kaeser’s penalty kick goal got No. 9 Abington on the right foot — even though she’s a lefty — as the Ghosts downed reigning District 1-4A champion No. 24 Neshaminy 5-1 in Tuesday’s opening round.
