We want to extends a special welcome to our Fox News viewers. Im meteorologist are arti from our studios here in new York City and weve been covering helene over the last several hours over the last several days. This has been an extremely well forecast storm, before it even formed down in the western caribbean. It looked like something like this was going to happen, so again, we still have technically a Hurricane Storm and Hurricane Center will probably see it downgraded slowly throughout the night, but one unique thing about helene, this particular storm is that it was very large, right . So large storms take a longer time to lose their strength as they move inland so you look up here to the north. Not only do we have a long Wind Damage to get, were going to see some hikely catastrophic rain, and i want to bring Ian Oliver. He started out in st. Petersburg beach and hes now made the trek over to tampa, so kind of on the other side of town, and ian, whether you started on the of other side of the beach, it gradually disappeared throughout the day. Yeah. And i think thE Water is still rising, right . Shortly after Midnight Gevening to you, and gooD Evening to our viewers on Fox News and Fox Weather Channel and lets move to our local television station. This has been a brutal day, a historic one, going across let history of record which goes back to the mid70s and the great hurricane of 1921 that cut johns pass over on Pinellas County and moved on to Tar Opinion springs and thats tarpin springs. The Winds Arent closed to whether a we experienceD Earlier today on st. Pete beach, but theyre still formidable. Its less about the intensity, ari and less about the direction of this wind, which is pushing more and morE Water into Tampa Bay. Were actually close to the overhang and this is the Tampa Museum of art. And in front of me, and if you live in Tampa Bay, if youve been down this way, this is where they host just abouT Everything for big events in tampa, when the superbowl was here, they had the Superbowl Village at This One, and this is where they had all the big events and its this slope that goes all The Way down to the Hillsborough River bits and hanging over here, because our equipment has had a longer day than weve had, but i want the ooh show you if you can see this. We started the Day Today yes, i was out in st. A petes Beach And Michael was right down on the river walk, one of tampas treasures. I think it was about 15 years back, 10,15 years back they put that in and it runs miles all The Way down to the Convention Center and at the Hillsborough Bay, and you can see the minor lit up behind them but theres one line just beyond where they had the restroom there and the concessions, thats the railing of the river walk, which is probably three and a half, four feet high, and then typically it drops off another two or three feet to actually get down to the Hillsborough River. So, yeah, this is a Record Surge, not just that all these officials gajsses that we have going back to the mid70s, but for the Hillsborough River, clearly coming up makes it all The Way to the bottom and then probably at least half a way back and you can see the park ill Lool Minute aided, and downtown illuminated, and Downtown Tampa. This is the shot of Downtown Tampa, and i was lucky to call myself a Tampa Resident for half a dozen years. Ever in seen anything like. This i dont think anybody going back to let great hurricane of 19dbe to the great hurricane of 1921 has ever seen anything like. This its been a historic and terrible day. Im not sure, based on what weve seen, the Power Flashes, billboards are shredded, multiple communities, as we were making our way around Tampa Bay flooded that We Saw. I dont have numbers on rescues or the amounts of homes that have been flooded. Its got to be up into the hundreds, thousands im not sure yet. Well get those official numbers tomorrow. I dont think itll be until Daylight Tomorrow Morning that we actually know on the full day of this. You said it we had about 50,60 yards of beach whether we got there. Two hours later, we were back into the do not as st. Pete beach was completely overtaken by the Gulf Of Mexico and then it got scary from there from water, and we got over the byway, the causeway that takes you into pinellas, all of the Tampa Bay bridges are all closed. Its very difficult and very dangerous moving around in this area, so if you can i know pinellas had the shelter in place order, a stay home, Stay Safe. Were almost to High Tide, and the storm is racing further up to the north. So then well see those levels come down through the rest of the hours but ari, again, this has just been an awful, awful event for Tampa Bay and this is just part of the story. This is the first phase of what we knew would be a multiday, multihazard threat. Yes, its been an unbelievable day, and the crazy thing is that the Tampa Bay area was, un, 150 miles away or so from where the center of where the Storm Made Landfall. Made landfall up in the Big Bend and were also going to go right up there, a little bit closer to where we made landfall. Let me ask you one more question here, ian again, with you being so far away from the center of it, i know this is in the forecast. Is It Still weird to experience that, knowing that the Eye Wall is so far about away; yet, you still have surge thats this bad. What a winfield on this thing, right . When we were on st. Pete beach, we measured it, about 85,90 miles off the Pinellas County coastline and we knew that the tropical storm winds extended this is more like the size of irma. We had tropical storm winds that are well off over 50 mileperhour and the Hurricane Force made it to the coast and were on st. Pete beach. Albert wooded airport, which is on the Bay Side of Pinellas County, gusted to 82 mileperhour. So that was a full Hurricane Gust that occurred in downtown st. Pete, and we felt every bit of that on the beach. It was probably just a touch higher. That was when we knew we had to get out of there and thE Water started to come out quick at that period of time, the storm is off to our side. It was south of due west, as it was moving in the eastern Gulf Of Mexico, so the wind was blowing more or less parallel to the beach and it wasnt generating that surge until it turned as the storm got north, Wind Direction was perpendicular and that surge came up fast with awful results across the area. Great fast from Fox Weather. Ian oliver who is in Downtown Tampa. Another person that we have in Downturn Tampa is Fox Weathers Brandy Campbell. So brandy, you know, how do things progress right now obviously, its not every day you seE Water in Downtown Tampa. This is obviously a very historic storm. Obviously its pretty late. Anybody out . You know whether a, were not seeing a lot of folks out. We were seeing a lot of people coming to take a look at things. That seemed to have slowed down, especially whether youre seeing scenes like this, this is a block that is completely flooded. The last time i checked with the presentation, they said the Storm Surge is about six feet. Thats where the weather is ending and its continuing to go up i need somE Water. No problem, brandy. Youve been talking pretty much nonstop for the last couple of days, and look at the scene out there, it really is something else. I mean that is just a Sight And Weve got a couple of storms in recent history where initially the forecast was for the storm to come to Tampa Bay and it made a little bit of a turn towards the east and the south. This is where this Storm Made Landfall by The Way. Youre good now, brandy . Reporter ian is about 50 feet from where im standing and if you go Cross Street To cross street, youll see that they are flooded, the war just continuing to rise. You can look at my feet and you can see a lot of bark probably from a Garden Somewhere thats been kind of that Line Showing where thE Water is, and it continuing to go up. Theres a Police Officer if we can show him right behind us he keeps having to move his car. To make sure that his Car Isnt now in the flooded area of this road. We also have video from earlier. This is about an hour and a half or so, cars trying to make it through this. There was a Red Truck or so. They made it through thE Water and got on top of The Bridge and saw how flooded it was on the West Side of tampa. It was about half a mile of, you know, roadway that was flooded on the other side, so they decided to turn around, come back, and theynt up getting stuck on their pass here. They pushed the car out and gotten it towed somehow but those are kind of the hazards that people are dealing with at this point. Before The Sun well, we were there past sunset, really that was completely flooded i can imagine the situation is probably getting really bad. I mean, we have some barricades there, and some knocked over, and some floated or knocked over to this point. And also before you guys came to us, we had a van that came through with some pretty gusty wind in this area so showing were not done with this storm. Were still getting beat up Just A Little Bit. Obviously nothing will i be in the big Bend Region but to say that were so far from that storm its still very impressive that were seeing this historic flooding. Back to you. Thats Fox NewsBrandy Campbell. And yeah, the High Tide is 1 42 am so thE Water may still go up as we approach next hour or two, so yeah, its been a crazy day in Tampa Bay. Thats for sure. Stay with us, Hurricane Helene as a category four hurricane made landfall in florida about one hour or more, about 11 10 Eastern Time anD Even catastrophic storm and youre looking at a camera that was set out to record Storm Surge. And as the waves go down, if you look on the righthand side of thE Screen, you can see houses that are completely almost completely covered up with water absolutely devastating Storm Surge happening in places like cedar ridge, which is about four feet, which is much higher than it was in dalia. Were going to continue to track helene for the rest of the evening, nonstop 247, Fox Weather always on, always free. woman look i got the new Iphone 16 Pro at verizon. Ian, we talked about tampa quite a bit during the last block, but the Eye Wall actually went farther to the north and missed you guys, didnt it . Yes, yes. Yeah, yeah, clearly We Saw the effects and we were on the wrong side, the dirty side of this storm, which pushed thE Water into the Tampa Bay and generated all the Storm Surge flooding but this was truly only the first phase of Hurricane Helene. The second phase was a more violent one and thats where our specialist Mike Seidell experienced and mike, watching that Eye Wall move in, that was an incredible scene. Whats it been like since . I know this storm has been especially powerful . Reporter yes, we got into The Eye, and were kind of in The Eye now but getting into the Back Side. The wind has shifted from the eastnortheast around to the westsouthwest. Its on the bottom side its a pretty good gust. The winds didnt get calm but they backed off and The Rain came to an end. We still have some light Rain Shower and not a whole lot of rain. It was such a quick the thing here, and we have about an hour here, and that was about it. Rainfall about two and a half inches at the nearby airport and the Peak Wind Gust was 99 Miles Per Hour. We were sustained at 5555, gust to 99 and that was at 11 10 eastern here in perry, florida. Whether a we can see across The Street, the Gas Station lost its awning and the coral gated corralgated aluminum, buT Everything else, as far as The Eye can see is out and it is dark. Temperatures in the upper 70s. It came up a couple of degrees after The Rain ended and we got into The Eye, but were going to stay breezy overnight, still a little bit more rain, but the extreme Wind Warning has been lifted for this area. Now, the worst of it is moving across the Floridageorgia Line and The Eye getting into but, ari it was quite the hour of Wind Gust, successive Wind Gust over 60 Miles Per Hour and the very horizontal rain and also we had seven i think it was seven Power Flashes On The Air. You may remember On The Air live just boom, boom, boom in the distance and the sky just lit up this screen almost consistently. Ive never seen so many Power Flashes. Ive seen one or two, but not seven in a row just backtoback to back. A great step from Mike Seidel. You should have seen that before. Lets go to Robert Ray. Robert was not directly in the Eye Wall he was just to the east of it but still had some very nasty wind and were talking Chris City florida, a Little East of skeen hatchee. Robert, whether a is the situation where you are now in Cross City . Rain has definitely let up and that is a good thing here in Cross City. The power is out in this entire area. A million customers without power at this point and i think, you know, our biggest concern right now is what happened and what is still probably happening on the coast, 20 miles away. Skeeahatchee, a very small town, but its taking a lot of Storm Surge dont know how much at this point. What we will likely do is make our way over there at some point when the light comes up tomorrow, and some of that water has reseated and weve seen some of the cameras from Cedar Key and we know the incredible surges have come in and i just hope that anyone who has stayed on the coastline is okay tonight, although, we have seen . Reports on twitter of some Storm Chasers that decided to stay and have abandoned their cars because thE Water came up so far and that is really why we did not end up right there. Weve got hotels steinhatchee, but we were worried about our vehicles and our safety but here, tonight, yeah, we diD Experience some pretty heavy winds, even though we were not in the Eye Wall, and it will be probably not surprising to see this area when The Sun comes up and see damage in some of the spots. Though, as ive been saying throughout the night, at least where we have been stand, i have not heard a catastrophic audio, and what that means is homes or structures being ripped apart. I have not seen Anything Blow by really, except for Tree Debris, so Tree Debris is going to be Everyone And Power poles, expect to see that and the System Moves up into georgia, and by The Way, speaking of georgia and the lat ter metro, i got a text message, the head commander, a suburb of atlanta just to the north, and he said they are already responding to downed Trees Tonight as The Darkness Happens and The System is moving up there. Expect to hear a lot more of that and Power Outages up in the atl as we know, even South Georgia is experiencing, many, many problems right now. Back to you. Robert, i know the reporter in you is probably a little disappointed that you didnt get into the worst of it but there is a reason, you know. Theres a reason that we do not any reporters that are up along the Big Bend, right along the coast. That storm is unbelievable. Theyve had record levels of surge and it was almost at nine feet and it looked absolutely devastating and it was halfway up houses so you just behaj what imagine what 10 to 15 feet would be up there. Its from yeah, its pretty much under water, look at that. I mean, when the waves move a little bit. This is the camera that i was referring to. They took a nasty hit last year with Storm Surge from Hurricane Ida hidalia. This is a record Storm Surge now in cedar creek, and it made just a tiny bit of an east job and i think that ended up being a worst thing for Cedar Key, but robert, you did not get in the actual Eye Wall. You were in the closest outer band to the Eye Wall. Im just curious how did This One stack up . I saw you in Hurricane Debby and i think you were in perry, if im not mistakenly that was a category two, i believe, at landfall and how did This One stack up . Reporter well, i mean, its hard to tell at this point, because of the darkness, as far as damage as far as winds go, i have Example Spear yuvns experienced a lot worse. And when youre on the fringes, it often is a less impact. That doesnt mean that there is not impacts in this area that will be that well be able to assess when The Sun comes up. Think about it, this entire town is out of power, over A Million people and we will say, this over A Million customers without power man, is that significant . So as far as, you know, what ive experienced in that realm, that is really, really bad and first responders cannot get to that, especially on this shoreline. I just worry about it and we will go, hopefully to Stein Hatchee whether The Sun does come up. You did Mention A a lot of people without power in the central of florida and those numbers are going ooh skyrocket. You saw that on the bottom of the Screen And Governor desantis, at least, one person has died in tampa. That is the first death that ive heard of so far from this storm and hopefully the number stays low. Oh, my, my goodness, this is a category four Making Landfall. It is moving up to the north as we speak. Val dosta, georgia. Its moving right through Val Dosta right now. So we have a Long Way To Go before this is done. Stephanie, would you mind giving me a wider view with the composite radar right now, just so that we can give people an idea, and where its going to be going. We are far from done, guys. We are far from done. Weve got the big wind problem, and robert was just saying hes from atlanta, and one of the suburbs there, theyre already getting reports of some wind issues. You know, trees downed and things like that. This is just on the Outer Periphery of helene, so the strongest wind is here. As this continues to move up toward the north, the Power Outages are going to skyrocket. Believe me, we have already 80,000 people without power in the state of georgia and those numbers are going to go out. Reporter you can see the wind coming downsideways, pretty hard, and just being out here, youre really just getting nailed with the wind and nailed with rain. These are some pretty difficult conditions to be in right now. Of course, overnight, the biggest concerns here will be major flooding in this area as well than could reach down to 100 mileperhour and this area has already received a lot of rain and so the biggest concern would be those winds that could topple over and we do know that a lot of those trees behind us are seeing some major Move Andhment City officials have tolD Everyone to stay inside to try and shelter in place, and were also under a Wind Advisory right now until 2 00 am, because, again, we are expecting conditions to get even worse here over the next 30 minutes, an Hour Bsh but but, but a lot of officials are telling people to stay in here, find that Interior Room in your house, because, again, safety as priority when conditions are this bad. Ari . Yeah, caroline, its interesting. We were just talking about an hour ago, maybe over an hour ago i cant exactly remember, and we were talking about the radar. The Eye Wall was coming in and it was actually not too bad at this time. Maybe for people who have never experienced the Eye Wall of the hurricane, can you explain . Was it a gradual increase in the wind . Or did it just kind of smack you in the face quickly . Conditions have gotten a lot worse in the last ten minutes. Were starting to see some lightning, and i mean, you can see when i flash this light really just how strong these conditions are right now, and i will tell you, also standing in this its very hard to really just keep your grounding, because, again, these are some very tough conditions, and i will assure anyone watching that we are being safe about this. Of course, we are under an awning, but i do want show you whats happening right now. Yeah, that is a legitimate category four Eye Wall that youre sitting in right now. Boy, the wind makes me so nervous, theres a bunch of trees and its actually going to be a big story as it Moves Inland. Not only the Florida Panhandle but the entire state of georgia, where we just have so many trees that weve already had a ridiculous amount of Power Outages over A Million in florida so far. Talk a little bit about the agriculture down there, but i know youve got cotton crops, the pecans, the peanuts, you know, a lot of people it might go back to 2018, there was a big loss of crops, especially in Southern Georgia. Talk about the area that youre in. Reporter yeah, ari, we know that georgia, obviously, very big agriculture state, so this is certainly a big concern for a lot of farmers out here. We are, again some of these trees, and really the conditions were seeing, we are expecting may flooding, which could impact, of course, far and good areas but Thats Tree Removal is going to be a big story. Im not sure if you can really see these trees are moving behind us, because, again, visability is getting pretty bad out here as we are getting a direct hit, or close to getting a direct hit right now, but, of course, thats a big concern for farmers. But i will tell you right now, surprisingly, we still have power in this area. We dont know across the state of georgia, we just checked and Power Outages are about 100,000 customers without power right now. So this hotel right now, as of this moment, still standing with power but i dont know how its going to be for long. Ari . Caroline, elliott, i would say try to get dry, but thats going to be a tall order. Look at that thats an Eye Wall, if you havent seen one. Yeah, major winds right now. By The Way, we can see the trees totally behind them and were going to stick with this for a minute. Tell us a little bit because ive in every been an inn an Eye Wall of a hurricane. Ive been Storm Chasing and a lot of stuff like that, but were talking about a sustained wind with some gusts. You know, that sustained wind looks absolutely ridiculous right now . Reporter yeah, wind speeds right now are generally very high, and thats been continued really for the last ten minutes. But i will tell you, those Wind Gusts could be very powerful. You just saw that in the last 30 seconds live on tv, really, when those Wind Gusts come through again, were expecting 100 mileperhour Wind Gust, and again, we did talk about this already that because this area has seen a lot of rain, the soiling is very saturated, because those Wind Gusts, when me they have move through, trees toppling over is the biggest concern, so we certainly want people to Stay Safe. I dont know if you just followed that as well, but lights are starting to flicker, so we could lose power any moment, ari. Yeah, youve said youve been in a lot of these storms. Im curious how This One stacks up. A category four a direct hit from a category four, even if its a little bit inland, that has to be out there. Wow, how about that . Reporter yeah, this is my first shot in my career really being this close to The Eye of the storm, so, again, as we mentioned, when those Wind Gusts come through, this is exceptional. This is very hard to be out here in these conditions. We do know that this area is under a Winter Weather until Wind Advisory until 2 00 am and telling everyone to find your safe space and your home, but its worth mentioning over and over again because trees toppling over is the biggest concern, but really just being out here right now. Im looking behind us, obviously we dont see anyone on the roads right now and thats exactly what officials warn people to do, just stay at Home And Shelter in place, because as you can see, these conditions are very hard to be in. Ari . Reporter . Yeah, im going to bring up a map really quick, just to give people an idea how the wind has increased just a bit and to give people an idea of where Valdosthe Ta is, again, the Far Southern southern part of Georgia Reporter ari . Yes. I dont know. I dont know if youve lost audio, because, again, this is pretty difficult right now. Were getting obviously our cords are getting very wet right now and im not sure if youre talking to me the anymore, but im going to send it back to you guys in studio. Yeah, that actually works pretty well. She talked a lot, and now its going to be my turn to toss to break. We still have a categ We Stilling have a category four hurricane that made landfall about an hour and a half ago in the western Big Bend of florida, whatever you may to want call et, a little Bit South of perry. Alongside me here well, im in new York City, but hes in tampa and this is Ian Oliver who has been out there all day. It started off started off in st. Petersburg, the surge came in anD Eventually you guys had to go all Wait Downtown Ooh get to tampa. Tell me about your day, Holy Moley moly. Reporter yeah, this has been a long and devastating day for the tampa Tampa BayArea And Point south, really all The Way down to South Florida where a Record Surge reported both inside and outside of the bay, and now as you told us, up in cedar creek, were key, were up in Record Territory are high, and not the intensity of helene, but this giant windfeel, and of course, it grew in intense tea, too, but we did make it intensity, too, but we did make it to st. Pete, and it Cut Off it flooded a portion of the island. We made it back over into mainland pinellas, up around the bay and were up in Downtown Tampa. I know its dark and im not sure what you can see. This is curtis park. This is one of the jewels of the city of tampa. Most times, when theres a big event, we had the superbowl down the here and we the national championship event, all the big events down here. And it goes down to the river walk, which runs miles. All The Way up to the Hillsborough River and down to the the Hillsborough Bay, up to where the Tampa Bay convention is, and almost down to Ebov City and the americanettes, the University Of Tampa and once, one of the Tampa Bay hotels, which was the only landmark standing, probably the only stopper, the tarpin springs, florida, back in 1921. ThE Water has somehow risen over the past 20 minutes or so. The High Tide for tampa is somewhere just short of 2 00 am. We thought, as youve been showing us with the storm so far up to the off to the north now, youve got the core of this racing its way. Its almost into Southern Georgia that maybe the surge would start to Brack Up back up again, but the Astronomical Tide has still come in. There is still a force of water from the Gulf Of Mexico into Tampa Bay, and with that, theres nowhere to go but that to thE Water and the reason that i know that its still rising if you were with us on Fox Weather earlier this morning. I know weve got folks with us on Fox News channel in our local television stations. One of our Meteorologist Gists thats the restroom and they have concessions on the other side, that little line that you can see is the railing of the Liver Walk and when we got here, it was probably this much of it and now theres none of it, so we know in this portion of the Hillsborough River, thE Water is still rising and we do have a Fox WeatherBrandy Campbell. Brandy is probably a mile up the river from me, closer to Hillsborough Bay. Weve seen the river come up still, at least a few inches over the last had half hour or so. Yeah, it is just convinced consistently starting to rise, so basically floating into the road deeper and deeper, so we have a cop thats right next to us. Hes been consistently moving his car to make sure that the Car Isnt starting to flood. I mean, its pretty amazing to see if we can take a look Down The Street. I just to want give you guys an idea of how much thE Water has actually risen from the Hillsborough River. If you can see that river off in the distance, its just passing underneath it and now if we can show you, guys, those two i believe those are white Traffic Cones in the middle of the road, we got here, i think at this point, was maybe three hours ago was before landfall happening and thE Water was at that point . And since then, now, im sitting not even at the edge of it and theres some bark in front of me marking the edge of thE Water, so its come up quite a bit, and i know we could have seen that Storm Surge go up to eight feet. Just speaking with our forecast 4 center, six to seven feet, depending on where you are along the bay, and this is along the hills and weve had cars getting stuck here and they pushed them out and they were trying get across The Bridge and saw that they were met with more flooded roads and turned around, and they came around and got stuck, so a very tricky situation, but the cops, if we can turn around, they out here patrolling the roads and pretty much blocking all these areas. Obviously theres flooding here and i can see a cop Down The Street, probably trying to make sure people are going into these flooded areas. But one thing i will say, its been extremely quiet. I havent seen much people on the roads, at least where we are at all. I guess also because its getting late at night at this point, people are probably tired after going through a day of just impacts from this storm. I met some College Students yet who live nearby in one of the islands and i got their number just to check in with them and ind, are you okay . And he said yes, but things are crazy over here to get some more contacts on that, but he said, yes, they were okay, but we just know this is kind of a main situation. These overpasses, if youre trying to go on top of it and cross that river, its going to be kind of hard to do so. Youve got to take the tollway, which much higher. Back to you. Yeah, brandy. I was just looking, checking in with the fox forecast center. The reading in Hillsborough Bay a little bit closer to where you are, up over seven feet of surge now. Wow which is by far the record. Those records, by The Way, go back to the mid1970s, so this has been a historic storm by all accounts. Its the first chapter of it. Weve got the landfall that occurred further off to the north up into the Big Bend and now the problems that were going to see through the overnight hours through much of the state of florida, and across the southeast. Lets go further up to the north, and where thats we find Fox News correspondent Robert Ray. Robert, this is your second landfall of the season now in florida, This One, by far, a lot worse than what We Saw with Debi Reporter yeah, it was. And we were in perry, in the northwestern quadroon of the Eye Wall. This one, we were, you know, just off of the Eye Wall, but nonetheless, yes, we received some pretty heavy Wind Gusts here in Cross City, with some rain some of that still continues, though, its lessened significantly here. Power is out here, as it is, really in so many places across the state of florida over A Million customers are In The Dark, and that does not bowed well for the situation here bode well for the situation here in florida. There are thousands without power in the state of georgia and that will really begin to increase as the Storm Helene makes its way up into the Atlanta Metro. But as far as where im standing right now, you know, landfall occurred in about 11 00 10 eastern 11 10 Eastern Time, and we lost power here at 10 10 Eastern Time. And its tough to tell what some of the damages in the area In The Dark of night. We are 20 miles off of the Coast Steinhatchee is the closest and that storm is likely historic. Whee dont know but what was anticipated was between 10 ooh 20 feet. Were going to go there in the morning when the light comes up and hopefully some of that water recedes. Frankly we didnt trust it. Com to find out how you can become debt free this is a live shot of tampa, florida, where look at that ive been watching this camera over the last couple of hours and thE Water has dev definitely been rising. The feed has been going in and out, and the Storm Surge has still been coming up. The High Tide is after 1 40 am, so the speed at which thE Water has been going up, or the acceleration, i suppose if you want to call it that its starting to slow down a little bit, but thE Water is still on The Way up. Look at that. You can see some debris on the left side of thE Screen there. Boy, i think the next couple of days, ian, as this water comes down, youre going to see a lot of damage. And i know youve worked in tampa for quite a while and you have to look pretty far back to see i mean, these are records for modern history, right . Reporter you have to go back across the period of record, and you wouldnt find it, ari. This is setting the record. Those go back to the mid1970s. We havent had a storm thats produced a surge like this in Tampa Bay, and you see the results of it right behind me. This is not part of the Hillsborough River. This is curtise Hixon Park in downtown florida, and i used to live a block from here, and obviously nobody has seen it and for the hurricane of 1921 that made a landfall in tarpin springs, northern part of Pinellas County, so yes this is going to be historic so its going to be this historic part of helene. Reporter thats the part of surge where we may find have occurred and weve got some cameras that have showed a very intense surge up that way and then as this core holds together, because its such a broad storm, we had tropical Storm Forced Winds extending almost 400 miles from the central of center of circulation, it takes long time for a storm to spindown and it takes all this Wind Damage throughout the Stay State of georgia and more flooding rain. I spoke about the violence of that inner Core Weve got to speak with someone who has experienced that first hand. And its Weather ReporterMike Seidel. Youve been through the Eye Wall of that, devastating in southwest florida. The minimum central pressure of helene was lower at landfall. What was that experience like . Reporter yeah, ian, it was a very different animal. Even though the pressure was different on This One, ian, you know, its not the same thing. We were in the Eye Wall of ian for four to five hours. This is a very slow moving storm, unrelenting and the surge in fort myers beach, 14,15 feet and and down at Keaton Baye Beach or steinhatchee, but this was just a quick hitter. Its moving so fast about 25 mileperhour. In fact, The Rainfall only added up to about 2. 5 inches. So the Flash Flood angle, even though the Warning Isnt until 3 15, the Flash Flooding Angle is not an impact here. Its really the power i think thats the biggest impact. Weve had some double image, and weve got lost some corregated aluminum, Thats Something you see very often with sex in a s severe weather under tornadoes, but you noticed about a mile down the road at 11 00 11 10 eastern and that was in the northeastern Eye Wall, northern Eye Wall and then on the Back Side as the winds came down southwest, there were one was 75, so thats Hurricane Force. They are, and theyre still gusting about 35 to 40 Miles Per Hour. Were really with The Rainfall. You can see on the radar right now, there is just not just that much rain. I that much rain. I apologize for the vehicles that drive by. They obviously couldnt see the Tv Light blinding them. But the other thing is not only the wind, but the power is out to basically the whole county. About 13,900 customers. In fact, all the counties in this area, i looked on the Power Outage Map are in red, which usually means that everybodys out. So its its a basic blackout across the Big Bend. These counties in the Big Bend of florida. They are making still so much of this left to go as this storm roars its way across the southeast. We wish that we were at The End of this event. Were not. These are my stories. Hurricane helene turning deadly with at least three people killed, two in georgia and one in florida. The storm hammering floridas big Ben Region as it pushes deeper into the southeast. Winds of 140 Miles Per Hour, flooding, rain and potentially unsurvivable Storm Surge battered the state. As of now, over 1. 1 Million customers without power in florida. And this is one of the biggest hurricanes weve ever seen in the gulf region. Its power extending into areas throughout multiple states. Tornado and Flash Flood warnings are blanketing georgia, just extending up through North Carolina. This storm is long from done. Weve got a long night ahead. Look at all those Flash Flood warnings that are already in effect. And the worst of the storm still hasnt gone through. Were going to have widespread Power Outages again, a long night ahead. And were going to be with you here all night. Hello, everyone, and welcome to Fox Weather. Im haley meyer. And im ari castleberry. This is Fox Weathers coverage of Hurricane Helene. By The Way, we want to extend a special welcome to you guys watching us on Fox News channel and the viewers across the country that are watching your local fox stations. Pleasure to be here with you. Weve got a lot to talk about tonight. Its been a night, ari, to say the absolutely Storm Surge, Record Breaking not only in Cedar Key, but in areas like Tampa Bay as well. Tallahassee at One Point was close to being in a very bad position. But right before landfall, id say a couple of hours or so before this system just scooted just over off towards the east a little bit, putting tallahassee in a better spot, still taking on some Heavy Rain, though. So that be one key concern. But the main focus now goes to an area of South Georgia and into the apalachee mountains, well beyond just the coastal communities experienced seeing some of the worst of this storm. Helene made landfall on september 26. So that was just yesterday. We are over that Midnight Hour here on the eastern Eastern Time. That was at 11 10 p. M. Folks are still trying to make their way across The Bridges. This was earlier today into, id say maybe the middle half of the afternoon. This was the Howard Franklin Bridge, thE Waterway that connects Downtown Tampa to Saint Pete and Clearwater Beaches. Tampa bay took on some of the worst conditions that weve seen from tonight. But again, this hurricane still has a Long Way To Go. Still maintaining strength at that category 4. Were waiting as national Hurricane Center continues to bring updates, rapid weakening is projected here. But helene, again, far from over with those impacts. Storm surge for a spot like Cedar Key now up to nine feet. That beats what they had with vidalia, which was just last year. That was a category three hurricane upon arrival. This would make helene the strongest hurricane the big Bend Region has seen, i believe, ever apalachee. Were sitting at 2. 6 feet of Storm Surge. That surge not quite yet over. Were still maxing out here, projected at a just over 11 feet thats predicted friday at 12 a. M. So right about now, for a spot like Cedar Key that will enter into the lower tide cycles, not going to do much in terms of completely eradicating the Storm Surge, but its not going to make it any worse. This gasoline pulls farther towards the north, so it looks like it is now category two. So rapid weakening, as i said. But Hurricane Warnings still extend well into georgia, a spot like macon, tifton, georgia, under Hurricane Warnings at this point in time. Tropical Storm Warnings, though, extend into an area like South Carolina and portions of Far Eastern Alabama as well. Weve had mass evacuations in certain areas as well. We have had our live reporters out and they have really brought us into the heart of helene. In addition to the Flooding Concerns, weve also had quite a few Tornado Warnings that have come out of helene. I believe two deaths could have been associated with a tornado damage, or at least from a heavy storm associated with helenes fury. That was in South Georgia. Looks like we might have another Tornado Warning that looks to be near charleston, South Carolina. The legacy, though, left behind, i really do think when it comes to helene is definitely going to be Number One. The Power Outages, the Power Flashes weve seen from our live shots have been substantial. But also the flooding, rain, Cedar Key and areas just towards the east of Panama City have seen substantial Rain Totals so far. We have Flash Flood warnings for many counties all across the southeast. Rain totals over the last 24 hours. Weve seen about 8 to 12 inches and this is just towards the west of where we had helene make its landfall, which was just near perry, florida, an Area Weve harped on the last couple of years in terms of landfalls. But farther towards the north, were talking Blue Ridge Mountains and out to apalachee as well. That is where we could have the mountainous terrain only exacerbating these conditions with the heavy flooding rains. This could be historic in many instances for areas like asheville, North Carolina. And before we get to asheville, georgia, is now starting to see some of the impacts from the massive Hurricane Helene. And still that category two just battering areas like valdosta, georgia. Fox multimedia reporter Caroline Elliott is out in valdosta. Caroline, your shot looks a little bit better and thats saying something because It Still looks pretty nasty out there. Tell me what youve been experiencing, especially as you took on the outer eyewall not too long ago. Yeah, well, we will tell you that conditions still arent great out here. The rain has slowed down a little bit in the last couple of minutes, but this wind is still an issue tonight. I will tell you, in the last 20 minutes since we our last live shot, i should say, we did lose power. And this hotel, you can see that the area behind us is still a lot darker right now. So hotel without power, we havent had any lights on or any power in about the last 20 minutes here. And thats really the case right now for the entire area. We just checked in with Loudoun County Emergency management. And right now in this county alone, 60,000 customers without power and the state of georgia, around 160,000 customers are without power. So this is certainly going to be an issue throughout the night. I will also say City Officials right now are saying that theyre already seeing a lot of downed trees in this area. And that goes to say something because visibility is not great right now. So we really wont know the extent of this damage until Sunrise Tomorrow or until we get power back on in this area. So, again, we do know that City Officials, that was their big concern tonight, that trees would topple over, possibly on a structure, possibly on a familys home. So that was the message and that was the concern from City Officials. But we do know in the last couple hours there have been several Wind Warnings telling people here to get inside and also find that Interior Room inside their house just for safety reasons hailey. Well, valdosta, georgia, is a somewhat larger town. Were talking about 55,000 people. But atlanta is next on helenes Hit List. Really . And thats just about half A Million people. Have you seen any Emergency Response efforts taking place right now . Have you heard of anything . And as you mentioned, you know, youre in the overnight hours and its hard to really be able to to tell exactly whats taking Place Damage wise until the daylight comes. Have you seen any damage in your immediate area . Well, haley, Thats Something were definitely going to keep an eye on here in the next couple of hours and really throughout the night. But we do know there are several areas right now in georgia under a Tornado Watch and many other areas underneath a Wind Advisory as well. So we do expect, again, that conditions are going to get worse. Conditions are going to keep moving north overnight. But again, that message to a lot of people is to not take this storm lightly and to really emphasize safety in this situation. Haley yeah, i think thats a really great point, too. I feel like in the precursor of this event, everybodys focused on florida, but atlanta ,valdosta and into the carolinas are certainly going to be feeling some massive effects. You went through it in terms of the outer eyewall. I mean, Heavy Rain, winds, it looks a little better. But again, i hesitate to even say a little bit because its still not a nasty night for you out there. But Caroline Elliott, thanks for joining us tonight and sticking up late with us to cover your end of the storm. And were still checking out the impacts from helene. So we have a live reporter. This is Fox Weathers Robert Ray who is on the ground out in fox city, florida. Robert, you were just due east of the Eastern Eyewall, but your shot still looks pretty dangerous. Still debris around you. Youve been through a couple hurricanes, not only this year, but many over the last couple of years. Whats been your experience with helene in comparison to the outer Eye Walls versus the Eastern Eyewall that youve been through many a time . Yeah, well, i mean, you know, any time you have a category four with 140 mile an hour sustained winds out in the Gulf Of Mexico, thats going to hit a pocket of florida that, frankly, is very difficult to cover. A hurricane in the Big Bad nature coast. Its not very populated, but its difficult to find places where you can take Cover And Shelter in this. Yeah, its very hard. AnD Even though yeah, we were on the to the east of the Eastern Eyewall, we did we got some pretty good Wind Gusts here, unfortunately. And some very, very Heavy Rains. You see some of the Tree Debris down. There is no power here. And, you know, theres almost 1. 3 million customers without power in the state of florida. I mean, let that sink in. Unbelievable amount of people who are In The Dark tonight. And there are probably many people that are suffering the consequences of the wrath of Hurricane Helene. And now it moves up into georgia. But, you know, were going to assess this in the morning as far as damage in this area and then go to the coast. 20 miles away to steinhatchee, which has received incredible Storm Surge. And were going to look at the recession and look at the damage there. And i just hope to god its not as bad as it potentially could be. Some of the predictions were 10 to 20 feet by the national Hurricane Center as far as Storm Surge. And that is truly remarkable. If indeed that happened, we just dont know those numbers quite yet. And so we are going to sleep in our cars tonight. The Fox Weather beast and two other vehicles will get shut eye. We will watch The Sun come up when hopefully these winds dissipate at that point. And well be thinking of every one up in the state of georgia and the atlanta area. Ive already heard from one of the suburban eoc is roswell. Theyve got downed trees and other issues. We know there are issues in sandy springs, another one of those suburbs. And The System will then trek up into chattanooga on the border of tennessee, georgia, and then into nashville and the carolinas, too. Lots of people, millions of people affected by Hurricane Helene. And lets just hope that this is the last storm of the season, because even though we have not had a massive amount of named storms, the storms that have come in and have had impact have all made landfall and have had put a lot of people through a lot of trauma and a lot of issues. So many people, millions or over 1,000,001. 3 here in the state out of power tonight. And The System is still kicking up. The winds and rain at least here on the Big Bad. Haley well, robert, i think thats an important point to make there, that its not about the number of storms, but the impacts and weve already had three landfalls. This would make the fourth us landfall in 2024. Unfortunately, one was for the same exact region, the big Bend Region of florida that would be debby. And that made landfall, i believe, right near steinhatchee. So what was the sentiment when you were covering debby in terms of how these businesses maybe were even still recovering from sedalia . And how do you think theyre going to fare when it comes to halloween and its fury that weve seen tonight . I think that the towns on the coast, Cedar Key and steinhatchee, are going to have some real issues here. You know, think about this like as you alluded to in the past year down year, then debby and then now halloween. I mean, these are places that have gone through the gamut. Theyve had to evacuate all boats out, have had their entire livelihood destroyed by the Storm Surge. And these are people that make their living off of the coast. Many are fishermen. And so theres going to be major issues in the aftermath of this. We just dont know quite yet until we can assess tomorrow when the light comes up. And then, you know, first responders are in the same boat as far as anyone needing help here on the nature coast, on the Big Bad, they cant get out until all of this dissipates. And, you know, we still are having gusty winds and rain ,though The System tracking up into georgia right now is a category two. I just hope that atlanta does not see Hurricane Force gusts tonight. That is a place that just cannot handle that. Lots of huge trees, hills and a lot of Flash Flooding. There are so many people, millions of people that live there that if indeed they get those guys, were going to have major issues and theyre already seeing problems up in the atlanta area. Haley yeah. Robert atlanta. Andre. Catastrophic Flash Flood warning right now. So thats an elevated level of a Flash Flood warning before seeing a Flash Flood emergency. Not a guarantee that well see that from atlanta, but already having a saturated ground, you tack on Wind Gusts and a bunch of trees that really are plagued across the entire southeast. But thanks for your report tonight. Your chili are the best in the business and getting this stories of people. So well definitely be checking in with you, not only the rest of tonight, but going forward over the next few days when it marks the Recovery Efforts that are indefinite for a lot of areas across the southeast. I appreciate it, haley. And we will be out doing exactly what you just said. And were committed to it here on Fox Weather and the Fox News channel. And youve got to keep with us. Were going to tell those stories of the Human Impact and its going to be significant, really significant Human Impact. I think that is something that not only were going to be hearing over the next couple of days, but for the rest of 2024. Unfortunately, we do have a hint at maybe another system coming into the Gulf Of Mexico. Unfortunately, still too early to tell if anythings going to for sure happen. But its this regime Change Weve seen in the Gulf Of Mexico. And unfortunately, weve been quiet for a little bit of Time Out in september. October seems to be a different story. But robert, best wishes to you and to your family. I know that you live in atlanta. Your family is at home. So well be checking back in with you. Thanks so much. Thank. Heres a picture from atlanta specifically, ari, i know you just moved to new york from the atlanta area, so i feel like youll probably have the the best insight on the Atlanta Metro and how its going to take on halloween, at least from my perspective. The one that always comes to mind is 20, 24 years ago, it was toward The End of the year. I think this was in october, if im not mistaken. Maybe it was maybe it was november. Thats video from asheville, North Carolina, by The Way. But there was the remnants of this storm, hurricane zeta, you remember zeta that came well inland. And i got to tell you, you know, ive been Storm Chasing a lot. Ive seen tornadoes and all this kind of stuff. That was the scariest storm ive ever been in the remnants of zeta, because i had, you know, little kids at the time. They were upstairs in their bedrooms. I was kind of excited as a weather enthusiast. Im like, oh, cool, its going to be a winD Event. I want to experience this. But then all of a sudden big branches started coming down on the roof and i had to, you know, wake the kids up, wake my wife up, brought everybody down to the basement. And i think, you know, i guess a lot of words to say. I think This Ones going to be worse than that. I think its going to be a really big deal for atlanta. I think quite a few people, even have have said that in terms of the Atlanta Metro, this could be worse. All the Flash Flood warnings not only just in the last couple of hours, but this has been the story for a long time for the Atlanta Metro. I mentioned catastrophic in the labeling of that Flash Flood warning. But now moving into georgia, not quite into atlanta yet in terms of the outer eyewall. But we could potentially see the continued Hurricane Force gusts even sustained hurricane winds potentially through atlanta into the overnight hours when a lot of people are asleep and unaware. Yeah, i know weve been focused in on atlanta a lot, but its going to be a lot more places than that. And, you know, the thing is, its such a multifaceted threat. First off, we just have the wind, the regular wind itself of the storm, whether its still a hurricane when it gets on the South Side of town or its a tropical storm or its a remnant low, whatever it is, were going to have Hurricane ForceWind Gusts. I think thats really not not a question at this point. So youve got the wind. Then you see how many Flash Flood warnings are out right now. Already we just had a frontal System Move through that soaked the ground. Now we have this storm, helene, coming in thats going to add a ton of tropical rain on top of that, i think were going to see some pretty devastating flooding up into parts of the apalachee especially. And then, of course, you saw that Tornado Threat that we have the entire East Side of the storm. Weve had multiple confirmed tornadoes already as its made landfall. So many different levels. To helene here, the Storm Surge in Tampa Bay has been, i hesitate to say, Record Breaking. We dont know that for sure, but its something that they havent seen in quite some time. I believe this camera was from a spot into tampa, but atlanta ,again, taking on some Heavy Rain. But the worst of it actually expected in a spot like asheville, North Carolina, and into the Blue Ridge Mountains. So there is still a Long Way To Go in terms of forecasting the storm, going to interact with that Cut Off low pressure. As you mentioned. So The Rain will be crucial moving forward. In terms of the flood, its going to be a flood. Yep. Well, Fox Weather is your hurricane and we are tracking this catastrophic storm all night long. Stick with us here on Fox Weather. Its going to be a long night. Weve got a lot more to go here, guys. We now have Hurricane Helene. The worst of this storm is likely to get to come, but were really taking it right now a very dangerous, perhaps deadly scenario. With each rain band, it gets more intense. All this an indication that there is a lot of atmospheric energy. This is just what weve seen all over the place thats a big wind. Its a big rain and The Rain hurts. Weve got you covered. Everybody in the Fox World Weather building that was watching the tv, their eyes got wide thinking, oh, my goodness. And this was earlier, i would say maybe a good 2 hours or so before landfall. Tampa bay, although they were far enough, away from the center of circulation, the impacts have been substantial. The worse theyve seen in the better half of, id say probably a decade or maybe even a couple of decades. The Impacts Helene beating out idalia as well as ian for specifically the Tampa Bay area in a spot like Cedar Key. Unfortunately under the gun, once again, i my heart really does go out to the folks along floridas big Bend Region. It has been now the third system in two years that has impacted the area. And unfortunately, the third is the harshest blow. We do have a Flash Flood threat, though that does continue even farther inland. We have a Cut Off low Pressure System that brought a Precedent Set of rain earlier just yesterday and that didnt have anything to do with helene. Now that low Pressure System and Helene Beginning to sort of intermix a lot of people throwing around the Word Fujiwara Effect or a capture all of which are meteorological terms. Needless to say, both of these low pressure going to intermix together and leave that rain just kind of lingering in the ohio river valley, but primarily bringing the worst of the Rain Conditions to a spot like apalachee and the Blue Ridge Mountains. This could be worst flooding they have seen since back in 1916. So the better part of a century, that was when two different systems came in and dumped historic amounts of rain. And with mountainous communities, not only do you have the orographic Flooding Threat where the mountains promote Access Rainfall with the rising air, but you also have the lower lying areas, especially vulnerable to flooding as all of that rain begins to dive down into those valleys and the river systems. Beyond just the Flooding Threat, though, Power Outages were over A Million in florida. The total of customers out in georgia still on the incline. Atlanta yet to be under that threat. But Hurricane Gusts are expected. This is by friday into the morning and one likely well see that even before wake up im assuming in maybe robert are you guys might know a little bit better than me, but schools are probably canceled for friday. I would venture to guess work. Its a stay at Home Type of deal because were expecting to have mass Power Outages as well. And it might take a couple of days, especially with thousands anD Even millions of customers without power for these Bucket Trucks and these companies to get out to your area. The Florida Toll right now 103 or 1. 3, rather, million people. Georgia, 193,000, atlanta starting to see some of the Power Outages immediately to the south of the city, but not quite there just yet. Tennessee, though, is another state thats going to feel the impacts, including nashville, areas like chattanooga, memphis might get in on some of The Rain, but the catastrophic threats are certainly out towards the eastern edge of tennessee and South Carolina. North carolina, Power Outages for georgia right now, albany is one spot a just immediately towards your south, that border with Georgia And Florida with over 99 of quite a few counties without power. Unfortunately, two deaths recorded in georgia. Thats the southern counties, they reported that it could have been from a tornado that moved into the area with two folks out in a mobile home. Well bring you the latest. And hopefully that Death Toll doesnt climb. But folks really have to take this threat seriously. A spot like atlanta into the overnight hours already starting to see some rain. Itll be torrential, Heavy Rain, outrageous lot like gainesville, 50 to 60 Miles Per Hour with the Wind Gusts. Thats tropical Storm Force and then some. But keep in mind, that graphic i just showed you, Hurricane Force gusts still expected. Thats over 70 plus Miles Per Hour. Friday, 6 a. M. Eastern time. Atlanta still under the gun. Eventually, it will begin to pull north of you. By the time we get into friday afternoon, The Rain not quite done and the winds are still going to be very gusty. This will take us into the weekend with impacts to the southeast. And helene has been ripping up the Florida Coast right now. Fox Weather CorrespondentMike Seidel is out in perry, florida. Mike, i think you bring a very interesting perspective. I was looking on your twitter or your over 25,000 live shots. I venture to guess thousands of them from hurricanes. What was your experience with helene and how does that compare to some of the other storms that youve stood in . Well, it certainly was pretty sporty for about an hour, an hour and a half. But it was such a fast moving hurricane. It was a quick Hit Or Rainfall total here. Haley was a 3 to 30 inches. I had to add up the last part and we did get some pretty good gusts on the Back Side. The front side was when we had the Wind Gust to 99 miles an hour, meaning The Eyewall, the northern northEastern Eyewall. Then we got into The Eye. The winds never went calm, but Rain Shut Down for a while. And then we had some more rain on the Back Side, about a third, about two thirds of an inch. So the winds in the past couple of hours, even after The Eyewall came through, have gusted Hurricane Force. In the past half an hour, Peak Gust has been running at about 60 to 65 miles an hour. Vehicles driving up here. Im not sure if theyre going to get through. They made it. Just dont want them to take out her Tv Light. In the meantime, what were concerned about overnight now is not so much the wind and rain, but the power. Its out everywhere, the entire county. This is taylor county. Theyre In The Dark and just about every other county around here is In The Dark. Theres basically 100 of the powers out. Theyve now had three landfalling hurricanes, as you mentioned, since last august. And the worst one out of the two before this, debby. And a deluge was a down year and the power was out for 7 to 9 days. I have no idea what its going to be like this time, but i can tell you that theres going to be about A ThousandPower Crews here by tomorrow. Theyre staging outside of the storm zone. We talked to the mayor earlier at the airport and theyre going to come on in. We talked to the several of the Guys WhoEnd Up Taking care of them with the food and the living set up out at the airport. Theyre all going to be out there. Its going to be like a big complex. And theyve done that before. So they have Power Crews on The Way. Once the winds back off, they can get up on the Bucket Trucks and im sure at First Light tomorrow, things will start to turn around, hopefully faster than they saw with the deluge. Well just have to wait and see because of how many trees are down. But right now, the winds still running, 35 to 40 mile an hour, 40 mile an hour in gust, temperatures in the upper 70s. But it feels a little drier now that The Rain has for the most part. But i think we might have lost audio there for you, mike. Not totally sure. At least i cant hear you folks in the studio. You guys let me know. Well, went out there all Day Today helping bring us the live coverage. He went through the Eastern Eyewall. That is one of the roughest parts of any kind of tropical, not to Mention A category four. He is a seasoned storm specialist. And so for him to say the amount of Power Flashes that he has seen was substantial, we caught that all on camera as he was talking with ari solari, who had the reins of the show before me. Cedar key, florida, is an area just towards his south, i believe, in relation to where perry, florida, is, that this was one camera from mark sudduth. And what happened here, he deploys all these cameras in areas where people should not go. And you can see why the Storm Surge covering on top of the Camera And Venture to guess. Mark, also a seasoned professional at this, wouldnt put a Camera Right on the ground. He would put it on an elevated area. There. I believe he had mentioned this was on top of a tiki bar, somebody that he had spoken with earlier when we did Idalia Coverage and was able to put the camera there. Eventually the camera did unfortunately go completely out because thE Water came all over it. So thats some big concerns here for a spot like Cedar Key at One Point, the nhc had potentially up to 20 feet of Storm Surge. They always go a overboard in terms of the amount, but still it was Record Breaking in a lot of instances here when it comes to the surge. Beyond that, though, now comes the threat for additional rainfall. Florida, especially from mike shot earlier, it was terrible. Conditions now still gusting, but The Rain starting to calm down. Conditions get a little bit better. The same cant be said for areas a little farther inland. Now its their time to be on high alert. That Forecast Track here, you can see category two in terms of the strength of this system. Theres that live radar, a basically the entire corridor there of apalachee just encompass it in Flash Flood warnings. We have a couple Tornado Warnings to ari. That is something of of no something we havent hit too much today but is an underlying factor with tropical systems that come on shore. Yeah, really, anywhere on the eastern side of the center of this thing, we could see tornadoes through the rest of the night. Weve already had a couple not only Tornado Warnings but like confirmed Tornado Watches where weve either had debris signatures. I think there was one earlier that came into Tybee Island that savannah was included in that warning where there was a waterspout that coming ashore. Weve got a Long Way To Go with this storm. Like i know usually its the case that it will hit and then it kind of Moves Inland and it loses its strength so quickly. And the worst of it is just where the center of the Storm Hit and its pretty much over. This is a different kind of storm than that. Its a humongous storm. And these big storms, they tend to hold on to their strength a lot more efficiently as they move inland. So, again, i know weve talked about atlanta a lot. Another spot that were particularly concerned about, haley, i would say, is some of the Blue Ridge Mountains out here, Western Parts of North Carolina, near asheville, western South Carolina, maybe parts of the Smoky Mountains as well. There are some pretty, pretty impressive wording coming out from the national Weather Service. They said that it could be some of the worst flooding that theyve seen in over 100 years. Yeah, helene, weve got a long time to continue to forecast for this system. You mentioned helene being a very big storm. Its in the 90th Percentile in terms of just how wide that Wind Field truly is. And that also played a big factor in the Storm Surge that weve seen and still continue to see. Yes, its going to be a very long night for a lot of people. Our continued coverage of Hurricane Helene still goes on. This is a picture out of tallahassee, florida, the state of floridas capital. At One Point, tallahassee was right smack dab in the center of the cone of uncertainty as to where that center of low pressure could go. Thankfully, we had some wobbling before halloween made landfall. It actually put tallahassee in a better end of this. Still quite a bit of Rain Barreling Down on a spot like tallahassee. But down farther south in an area like tampa, i mean, just look at this video at all the shaking, thE Water. It almost looks like an earthquake of water coming in. This was over the Howard Frankland Bridge. And so this is an area that connects tampa outside of spotlight, clearwater and Saint Pete. I hate to see cars driving on this. I would be white knuckling the the Steering Wheel there, to say the least. Tampa has seen historic records of Storm Surge in certain spots now topping over seven feet. Not even major Hurricane Dalia or ian brought this type of weather towards the Tampa Bay area. Im sure all of you know of that one spot in your hometown or areas you used to live in where you thought, oh, the weather always moved around me. Back in mississippi, we had the starkville bubble. Weather didnt come in to starkville. Tampa bay, some kind of way has that similar thought process. They think, oh, they typically go around, but unfortunately even if a system does move in, in jolenes case, well towards the the east or the west, rather, of a Tampa Bay area, its the Wind Field that makes tampa, especially vulnerable to something like Storm Surge. Cedar key is a spot that now has had the highest Record Number of Storm Surge at 9. 2 feet. Just take a second and think about what 9. 2 feet is. Think about the tallest man in your family and add maybe two of them in some instances here. Thats 9. 2 feet. So thats enough to go through at least first, maybe even touching the second story of a lot of homes, especially immediately on the coastline, an area like Cedar Key, things are starting to get a little bit better in terms of the torrential rain with aileen pulling farther towards the north. But that means helene spreading its fury to a different location across the Southeast Peak of the Storm Surge yet to come is arounD Eight feet. So were watching thE Water begin to recede. Eight feet, though, still very substantial and still beats the Storm Surge they had with elderly, i believe, daily in an area like Cedar Key. Had about six feet of surge. Not to mention just having a major hurricane coming through a vulnerable spot along the united states coastline. In addition to that, were also in the King Tide cycles, and thats when the tide is already higher than usual because of The Way the earth and The Sun is in correlation to each other. And that typically for a state like florida happens from october throughout the rest of the fall months. Category two right now for helene, but we have tropical Storm Warnings farther inland. A couple of Tornado Warnings have been sprinkled, unfortunately. There have been two reported deaths from a potential tornado still waiting on a specific confirmation that was in South Florida or South Georgia, rather. A lot of Flash Flood warnings, though, that are now being sprinkled farther towards the north. But before we continue with the future of helene, lets go back to helenes past and what exactly the market left behind in a spot like tampa. Fox Weather CorrespondentBrandy Campbell is out in tampa right now. Brandy, we were speaking to you last night, same hours here. Completely different situation. ThE Water looks to be i mean, how many feet would you estimate anD Exactly where are you in relation to the Bay Area or to that bigger body of water . Yes. So, hailey, right now we are in Downtown Tampa, so were kind of at the tip of where the bays meet at this point. And right now, i mean, were still seeing the flooding. You talked about some of the receding starting to having happen. And were also seeing that here Just A Little Bit. So to you, that receding, mark, i mean, we have all this Bark Right here thats floated up, someones shoe in the bark, but we have the sidewalk right there. Id say about 45 minutes ago or so, thE Water was actually on top of that sidewalk. It was about maybe two inches or so. So just to give you an idea, this little sign right there was knocked over that was covered in water. So thats good news that thE Water is finally starting to go down. But just look at how much we are seeing. This is an entire block. We have the Hills Burrow River that is just Down The Street crossing underneath that overpass that we can see off in the distance. Now, i want to show you guys some video of the same, but this was a couple of hours ago and showing some of the scenarios that people caught themselves. And you can see there was a Red Truck stuck in thE Water. There was actually two cars really ending up trying to make their way through this water. The drivers having to push their cars through anD Eventually they got towed out. So its been a pretty hectic situation for folks. I want to also show you where we were earlier today on bayshore boulevard. Thats on the other side of this river, that area. I mean, it was flooded for blocks and blocks and blocks and the police also blocking off so people wouldnt drive into it. But what they couldnt really stop were the people getting into thE Water, some actually swimming. We met two guys that were out there earlier today just getting their thoughts on the impact from this storm. It was still daylight. Take a listen to what they said. Oh, its ive never ive never seen it this bad now. And ive just been walking and its gotten worse. Earlier, i was walking during the day down here and it wasnt as bad. And now its just completely flooded. Well, for me, this is the worst. Originally, im from california, moved to South Carolina and coming here, seeing this, im used to fires, not water. So this is totally different. Yeah, right. All right. And just to give you guys some perspective of how people have really thought about this storm, some folks, they were preparing, doing the necessary things, but also thinking, oh, well be okay. Just you know, in the past, things have kind of gone around us. Haley, i know you were talking about the Bubble Situation we had. I lived in shreveport, louisiana. They also had the barksdale bubble. I believe they thought the weather went around the spot. But in this case, this was Record BreakingStorm Surge. And so this time we were not missed. You cant get past this if you were trying to get home across this bridge, unfortunately. And its not just the flooding. We had some pretty strong Wind Gusts. So theres a lot of palm fronds like this right here that you can see that, you know, this is obviously a dead one, but theres a lot of that around town. And then you have the Power Outages. I cant tell if there are any in this immediate area. I mean, you can see The Street lights are on and The Bridge, but there are just over 92,000 Power Outages just in Hillsborough County and 1. 2 Million across the state. So, i mean, a lot of people In The Dark tonight going into tomorrow, unfortunately. Back to you. Brandi, have you seen any Response Efforts going on . I know its really late, but are Bucket Trucks maybe trying to come out or are you seeing people trying to remove some of the debris just in light of folks waking up tomorrow . And im also curious, yesterday you were showing, i believe it was a hospital and they had these like aqua fences, i think is what its called. Not sure if you know how they fared in something like this. I thought it was a really interesting thing that that hospital ended up deploying. Yeah, well, starting off with the hospital, they posted to x about hour or two ago that their fence is actually held up. Its a pretty cool video because you can see thE Water on one side of the fence and theres a Man Standing on the other side just kind of testing it out, i guess in it. So far, It Sounds like its been working for them and it has in the past when it comes to the response. Well, right next to as you can see, theres a Police Vehicle. So theyre at least making sure people are not getting into this water. They havent let anyone drive into it. And if we were to look down the road, you can see there are more Police Cars stopping anyone from coming in to this area. But as far as rescue go, we havent heard of any reports. But i have seen people posting to x that theres water in some of their homes. So there may be that scenario going on. We just havent seen reported just yet. So well have to wait for that to, i guess, come to light. But i would imagine that there may be a need, a response. There arE Water vehicles out and around because we did see them earlier and that was about four or 5 hours ago at this point. So its just a matter of getting that information from the Police Department here. Well, brandy, thanks. Staying out there in the dangerous conditions and bringing us the live reports as its been happening tonight. Well be checking back in with you. Thanks for sticking up with us. Of course. Heres a picture from lemont or lemont, florida. Maybe someone might know exactly where this is at in relation to its in jefferson county. So thats the east of tallahassee. They say everybody in the Control Room for helping me out with that one. But you can see some debris thats on the road as well, just vegetative debris, something We Saw actually in relation to francine that came through. Not too long ago for the coast of louisiana. Its been an impactful year so far in terms of Hurricane Season 2024. Yeah, it really has. This is one of our exclusive storm trackers. Ive been watching that feed for a while. Its either Brandon Coppock or corey gerken. Im not sure which one that was, but theyre driving east of tallahassee along route 19 and, you know, theyre probably looking for damage. Ive seen a couple of times where they had to stop and theyve been, you know, using the chainsaw. Its been at least two or three times a lot of trees down there. And thats kind of a preview of what were going to see through the rest of the night here. Haley, because the area that this is going to go through, in addition to The Rain and the tremendous flooding that i think were going to see, which is a huge story in and of itself. And theres also going to be just a ton of Tree Damage and a lot of widespread Power Outages. I mean, just look at what were tracking on the exclusive Fox Model going forward. This is friday into the morning. Theres francine for you in there, for me. Thats okay. I mean, helene, theres just too many to go and to to track so far. Yeah. Helene. But moving into North Georgia by friday, early morning, i see on our Fox Alert System a Wind Gust report of 75 Miles Per Hour. Thats a Hurricane Force gust out in savannah, georgia. And heres more of the video just on the ground. This is live going on right now. The rain seems to be coming down pretty hard, not as hard as Mike Seidel haD Earlier today. You know, these guys these guys are in kind of looking at damage mode, i think im not sure whether theyre chasing the storm really any more or tracking it, if we want to call it that. But, you know, we talked about the amount of trees that are around this region. I mean, im sure at some point on this youre going to see a tree down across the road. Its been almost nonstop. Theyre going to be traveling east of tallahassee. Remember, the center of this came in east of tallahassee. Thats where the the The Eyewall went through. And its yeah, again, this is Brandon Coppock, one of our storm trackers. You know, we were talking about how there have already been reports of some trees down around parts of the Atlanta Metro, and this is, you know, when the center of it is still so far away from there. Right. Yeah, its going to be bad. I think, unfortunately. AnD Even for a spot like atlanta and out towards the Blue Ridge Mountains, thats where the biggest threat comes up next out in a spot like asheville, North Carolina. So weve got extended coverage even into the weekend as well, because we are making sure weve goT Everything covered for you, Fox Weather, were your Hurricane Hq. I like It So, yeah, thats a big Power Plant. Whoa. That was a massive Power Plant coming from. Yeah, well, was fox. Well, theres Ian Oliver when a massive Power Flash went off. Thats one of many Power Flashes weve seen over the course of tonight, ian and then we had Mike Seidel jumping in and had Power Flashes out, and i believe it was perry, florida, the Power Outages have been substantial. Over A Million people without power in florida, numbers only going up higher as we get into areas like georgia and the carolinas as well. But speaking of the carolinas, we have an active Tornado Warning, a confirmed tornado that a waterspout that jumped up on to shore near the Hilton Head airport. So Thats Something interesting that weve seen tonight. This is one of many confirmed Tornado Warnings. Weve actually seen from today anD Even into the overnight hours. That Tornado Threat continues into friday as well. So lets jump in to that radar, guys, and really unpack whats going on. So we have a cluster of Flash Flood. But heres that waterspout that came on to shore. Its these discrete cells that come from the outer rain bands that prove the most volatile when it comes to any kind of tropical threat. Theres the cell right there and theres a little bit of rotation in it. No hail, but its for the county of beaufort or buford. I know sometimes they can get a little bit different. Theres two areas. It looks like they just went back, though, from confirm to now just to a normal Tornado Warning. So theyre dialing back on and definite that they are on the ground. I believe the confirmed tau was because somebody had visual eyes on it. Now its just radar confirmed this Point Or Radar indicated, rather, right here. And so theres the rotation. Were seeing a little bit of rotation there at point a looked stronger again as that waterspout roared on to shore. Thats a typical process for a tornado that can come from a tropical system. ThE Waterspouts are usually short lived and arent very strong. What were circling there for you and thanks, chris. This was about ten or so minutes ago. And thats right of the shore when it was a much tighter couplet, moved onshore. Certainly was still a tornado and then began to sort of unwind, if you will, as it got deeper, just moving towards the south of the area of beaufort. But weve got a long time to cover this storm with the Tornado Threat. But we also have the Flooding Threat that will be the most significant. And Fox Weather correspondent Mike Seidel was in the middle of helene earlier and he was seeing some impressive Power Flashes, not only the first couple of inches, but then he got up to six, seven, eight inches. Then you werent even issued the Flash Flooding and then the trees get uprooted. Whoa. Did you see that Power Flash . Sorry. I was surprised that it was another one. Yeah, it was. At least it was still going. Rolling. Oh, my gosh. I was right there. I thought it was lightning. There was another thats four or five way in the distance. I thought at first it was lightning, but definitely not lightning. Yeah, its tough to jump like 5 hours. Yeah, its tough to tell when youre out in the field. I could tell it was a Power Flash immediately because it had kind of a green glow and it lasted a long time. And i was going to try to cut in and tell you and then obviously we got to four or five in a row. But there goes another one. There you go. Im going to send it. Yeah, you just keep going. This is incredible. Ive ive never seen that many Power Flashes back to back to back my career saw. There goes another one. The whole sky bleeding up in green. This is this is unbelievable. Well, that was out in perry ,florida, but conditions are still deteriorating farther inland, though. Now the threat really becomes spots like North Georgia, atlanta, a spot where you just moved from recently and the Blue Ridge Mountains as well. Not going to see wind like that quite to that level, but were going to see some gusts, probably upwards of 70 plus Miles Per Hour. Its still a category two hurricane, by The Way, at last check. And let me tell you this, ive worked with Mike Seidel for a little while. It takes a lot to to to rattle him and seeing that many Power Flashes, the amount of storms that hes seen in his career the idea that hes never seen that before, that tells you something. I mean, that was really something else, wasnt it . Yeah. Hes been going at this for a long time and as you mentioned, for him to say this is insane is is something to to really drive home. This was a live shot. Theyre still moving and this is out of lamont, florida. You mentioned just towards the east of tallahassee. And then we jump over to Cedar Key with the Storm Surge moving towards that serious sobering surge has gone down a little bit now it looks like maybe its starting to come down because earlier this camera was completely underwater. But thats record Storm Surge in Cedar Key, way worse than a deluge last year. Its going to be devastating over the next few days. Heres that live shot out of tampa as well. Looks like the surge, a big part of it. But as you mentioned, beginning to recede as the High Tide cycles move away. Foxworthy, your Hurricane Hq, were keeping the tracking of this storm going night high. GlaD Everyones here. Lets get started. When they want to squeeze up, let me share my screen. Okay. Hurricane helene turning deadly with at least three people killed at this point, two in georgia and one in florida. The storm hammering floridas big Ben Region as it pushes deeper into the southeast. Winds of 140 Miles Per Hour were felt flooding. Rain still continues and potentially unsurvivable Storm Surge still continues to batter the state. Thats a live camera out of Cedar Key, florida. That Storm Surge has actually been receding since weve haD Earlier into this evening and into the overnight hours. And as of now, 1. 1 Million customers without power. This is one of the biggest hurricanes we have seen in the gulf region. Its power extending well throughout multiple states. As you can hear, tornado and Flash Flood warnings are being blanketed across georgia. Extending north up into North Carolina is what were storm is headed next. Box weather continues its overnight coverage right now. Hello, everyone, and welcome in to Fox Weather. Im haley meyer. Good morning to you. Im craig crary. This is Fox Weather is coverage of Hurricane Helene. And we want to extend a special welcome to all of our Fox News channel viewers as well. If those of you watching all across the country in your local stations, its been quite a night, craig. I mean, just tracking the landfall and then this Storm Surge that weve seen, Tampa Bay actually got hit decently hard and the landfall was a good 200 miles towards the north in the big Bend Region. And you think about the impacts that are still going on and how long liveD Event is going to be far beyond what We Saw at landfall. And its something weve been talking about here at fox. Whether the extent goes all The Way up into the southern appalachians, the southeast, it is a monster of a storm, monster of the storm, to say the least. I mean, in the 90th Percentile, with all hurricanes ,i believe, in terms of its size, tallahassee, florida, some of the lucky at One Point they were right in the middle. Right. Exactly. And it just wobbled slightly towards the east, putting them on the western edge of that center of circulation. So certainly not a great night by any means. No businesses closing down schools, i venture to guess probably not going to happen over at least tomorrow with it being a friday, but better than what it was forecasted to be. And thats all you can ask for. And they were prepared for it, which is great, right . They did all of what they needed to do to make sure that they were ready to go. And then, of course, you see scenes like this. And hey, as im watching, every time i see this video, just overwhelming. And you can see the waves just barreling over the Howard Frankland Bridge, thE Waterway connecting Downtown Tampa to Saint Beat and clear Saint Pete, rather. And Clearwater Beach is now Tampa Bay took on some of the worst conditions of the night. But lets also see where this massive hurricane is right now that just the video, its just one of many thats coming in. And i think as we go through the next several days and into the next several weeks, its going to be a lot of Recovery Effort for some places. Some of them are still in the thick of it, though. And i even hesitate to say this, but i think some of the worst of the flooding conditions are yet to come over iraq. About the Blue Ridge Mountains. Absolutely. For the carolinas, i think thats a threat that a somewhat people arent thinking about but really needs to be focused on going forward. This is one of our storm trackers whos out on the roads. Weve seen a lot of vegetative debris throughout the night, some larger trees, some smaller branches. But Power Outages, i can see on our own a banner up there. 1. 3 million in florida, 30 or 330,000 out in georgia. At this point. Those numbers are only expected to climb. Florida, maybe youre on the better end of things. I dont know how many more people can knock out power truly when it comes to The Sunshine state. But thats going to take some time to get the power back up. When you think about all of the all the people, all the crews that are out there and how widespread and how thin theyre going to, plus, you have to wait for the conditions to be okay for them to get into the buckets and get up there. The video that you see on the right side of your screen blows my minD Every time. This is of our exclusive fox with the storm trackers. Mark, sort of you showed this earlier. I havent seen its at its peak, but at its peak. How high was it . I mean, this is a two story building, obviously, but it was pretty high up there. I probably would say went all The Way up to the roof. I mean, that camera, we were watching It Slowly slowly, slowly. And then eventually the entire thing wiped out. Now thE Water is beginning to recede. The Storm Surge right now for Cedar Key is at 8. 6 feet, but at the height of it was 9. 1 feet, i believe. So a subtle decrease, but anything really counts. At this point, though, i would call an onshore wind. Exactly right. Its because the High Tide cycles are now starting to come down a little bit. That was at like one two in the in the morning here. So better conditions for Cedar Key. But hopefully everybody evacuated in that area. Yeah. Also, when you talk about the Storm Surge, is the timing in Cedar Key, of course, what youre looking at on the bottom here is when youre hoping to get thats the lower tide, right . A Storm Surge buoy. But this has just been impressive. Eventually, as we see the Storm Surge to level off, its going to take some time because of that consistent onshore push, even though thE Water trying to make an exit, a lot of freshwater is trying to make an exit. And its just its bit of a battle trying to get that water out. Definitely. AnD Even for a spot like jacksonville, they were not necessarily under a Storm Surge warning, but they could have seen maybe one to as much as three feet of surge. I think probably on the lower end, one foot of surge could be possible. Hailing from a powerful category 4 now to still a powerful category one, theres really no big difference, especially as it heads towards a spot like atlanta, georgia yeah, exactly. And you think of macon has been under that Hurricane Warning which was posted since yesterday, most of Southern Georgia. Under the Hurricane Warning, you head up the rest of the state of georgia and most of you are dealing with these tropical storm conditions and strong gusty winds. And look at the amount of Flash Flooding alerts that are popped up across georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, into tennessee, east tennessee, portions of the Smoky Mountains will also be dealing with more in The Way of the flooding rains. You were talking about this will combine to which will breakdown later with another storm over the Tennessee Valley. And guess what . Its going to stall out and sit there for probably 2 to 3 days. Thats going to be a concern for rain. Definitely. Its the Rain Threat as we go forward, especially as halloween mixes with the Cut Off low pressure thats adding to the Rain Totals and bringing it kind meandering into the apalachee corridor, at least for the next couple of days. And were still checking out the impacts from helene. So we have a live reporter. This is Fox Weathers Robert Ray who is on the ground out in fox city, florida. Robert, you were just due east of the eastern, but your shot still looks pretty dangerous. Still debris around you. Youve been through a couple hurricanes not only this year, but many over the last couple of years. Whats been your experience with helene in comparison to the outer walls versus the Eastern Eyewall that youve been through many a time . Yeah, well, i mean, you know, any time you have a category four with 140 mile an hour sustained winds out in the Gulf Of Mexico, thats going to hit a pocket of florida that frankly, is very difficult to cover. A hurricane in the big band nature coast, its not very populated, but its difficult to find places where you can take Cover And Shelter in this. Yeah, its very hard. AnD Even though yeah, we were on the to the east of the Eastern Eyewall, we did we got some pretty good Wind Gusts here. Unfortunately, and some very, very Heavy Rains. You see some of the Tree Debris down. There is no power here. And you know, theres almost 1. 3 million customers without power in the state of florida. I mean, let that sink in. Unbelievable amount of people who are In The Dark tonight. And there are probably many people that are suffering the consequences of the wrath of Hurricane Helene. And now it moves up into georgia. But, you know, were going to assess this in the morning as far as damage in this area and then go to the coast 20 miles away to steinhatchee, which has received incredible Storm Surge. And were going to look at the recession and look at the damage there. And i just hope to god its not as bad. It potentially could be. Some of the predictions were 10 to 20 feet by the national Hurricane Center far as Storm Surge. And that is truly remarkable if indeed that happened. We just dont know those numbers quite yet. And so we are going to sleep in our cars tonight. The Fox Weather beast and two other vehicles will get shut eye. We will watch The Sun come up when hopefully these winds dissipate at that point and well be thinking of everyone up in the state, georgia, in the atlanta area. Ive already heard from one of the suburban eoc, roswell. Theyve got downed trees and other issues. We know there are issues in sandy springs. Another one of those suburbs. And The System then trek up into chattanooga on the border of tennessee, georgia, and then into nashville and the carolinas, too. Lots of people, millions of people affected by Hurricane Helene. And lets just hope that this is the last storm of the season, because even though we have not had a massive amount of named storms, the storms that have come in and have had put a lot of people through, a lot of trauma and a lot of issues, so many people, millions or over 1,000,001. 3 here in the state out of power tonight. And The System is still kicking up the winds and rain, at least here on the Big Bad haley. Well, i think thats an important point to make there, that its not about the number of storms, but the impacts. And weve already had three landfalls. This would make the fourth us landfall in 2024. Unfortunately, one was for the same exact region, the big Bend Region of florida would be debby. And that made landfall, i believe, right near steinhatchee. So what was the sentiment when you were covering debby in terms of how these businesses maybe were even still recovering from vidalia . And how do you think theyre going to fare when it comes to halloween and its fury . Weve seen tonight, i think, that the towns on the coast, Cedar Key and steinhatchee are going to have some real issues here. You know, think about this like as you alluded to in the past year, adele, you then debby and then now halloween. I mean, these are places that have gone through the gamut. Theyve had to evacuate all boats out, have had their entire livelihoods destroyed by the Storm Surge. And, you know, we still are having gusty winds and rain ,though The System tracking up into georgia right now. Is a category two. Haley yeah, Robert Atlanta under a kind of traffic Flash Flood warning right now. So thats an elevated level of a Flash Flood warning before seeing a Flash Flood emergency. Not a guarantee that. Well see that from atlanta, but already having a saturated ground. You tack on Wind Gusts and a bunch of trees that really are plagued across the entire southeast. But thanks for your report tonight. Youre truly are the best in the business in getting this stories of people. So well definitely be checking in with you, not only the of tonight, but going forward over the next few days when it marks the Recovery Efforts that are indefinite for a lot of areas across the southeast. I appreciate it, haley and we are will be out doing exactly what you just said and were committed to it here on Fox Weather and the Fox News channel. And you got to keep with us. Were going to tell those stories of the Human Impact. Its going to be significant. Haley significant Human Impact. I think that is something that not only going to be hearing over the next couple of days, but for the rest of 2024. Unfortunately, do have a hint at maybe another system coming into the gulf. Mexico. Unfortunately, still too early to tell if anythings going to for sure happen. But its this regime Change Weve seen in the Gulf Of Mexico. And unfortunately, weve been quiet for a little bit of Time Out in. September, october seems to be a different story. But robert best wishes to you and to your family. I know that you live in atlanta. Your is at home, so well be checking back in with you. Thanks so much. Oh, my god. I got a video of. Yeah, thats always a terrifying sound. Yeah. And sites like that, right. The the sirens still some power there. So thats at least a good sign. But power is expected to go out for many people across the southeast. Tornadoes are going to be a key threat, especially for the forecast going into the rest of today, something that maybe folks arent thinking about as that that Number One thing in their head, especially for the carolinas. Let me get this video. I think this was out of perry, florida. I believe its sheets. Yeah, the range just going by in sheets. When you look at the Parking Lot and you can see just going by so fast, thats the kind of rain obviously that just drops when The Sun is up, visibility drops quickly. Its tough to drive through that. Windshield Wipers Cant keep up with it. And of course, the big concern, one of the major metros is atlanta. And ill tell you what, haley, all of the perimeter, all areas in around atlanta need to watch this closely. To the north of there, we have some Heavy Rain, some wind. This is going to be significant when you think about amount of trees throughout the Metro Area of atlanta and really the southeast. Yeah, southeast in general just is plagued with trees. And heres another Vantage Point of a different city. This is out of asheville, carolina, and this is before the worst of halloween is even yet to come. They have that surface low pressure that Cut Off brought a surge of rain. Already had some flooding issues there, and thats before the worst of the impacts. So this is the area thats on high alert, level four out of four for Flash Flooding. When you think about that, anyone who lives there . And if youve been with us, weve been talking about that rain ahead of the right anD Eventually thats all going to mix. But the ground is so saturated, you got the orographic lift, youve got all of this moisture surging ahead of it. Its the perfect combination where the atmosphere is just so juicy. Its just going to ring out like a sponge. Then also the Tornado Watch, which you talked about, is a big threat and a lot of these the concern remember, some of these pop up quickly and dont last as long, but they can be just as damaging. Its not uncommon to get an ef zero if one. You mean an ef3. I think a couple in recent. But its its will do some damage in a short amount of time and you wont have time to get to your safe spots. So be ready. Right. And when you talk about Tornado Threat, significant flooding, thats the mixed messaging there where people think, okay, flooding, highest level tornado, you want to go to the lowest level. So its kind of you have to choose whats best for you in that specific. If theres active flooding, stay away from it, but still get to a most Interior Room. Heres that Tornado Watch for the southeast lasting until 8 a. M. So through the overnight hours, which is also another layer of danger of real estate. Right. Look at all of the areas that are affected by this. And when you think about what We Saw, We Saw some of them pop up as early as yesterday. Tornado warnings, some confirmed tornadoes as well throughout the overnight and into today as well. This is a concern. Hey, we look at this area right bright red. Youre looking at a significant threat for some tornadoes today. And heres the track of the forecast out of the of helene. Look how far extending the outer bands are and how much damage this is going cause. Well away from where the center is, which is why we always focus the impacts away from where the center of the storm is. This is a perfect example definitely and with specifically these coastal areas from the outer banks, wilmington, myrtle beach, you have the onshore push of winds, especially just relation to where helenes going to be, the winds moving on to shore. The immediate coastline could see some Flooding Concerns, maybe a little bit of surge with the High Tide. And then you have the Tornado Threat. Weve had quite a few Tornado Warnings throughout the day. I think weve had maybe three or four confirmed tours, one of which just recently that we hit less than an hour ago. And that was in i believe it was beaumont that was in north and that was a confirmed tornado. But putting the Tornado Threat to the side, the Downtown Metro of atlanta under a consider double Flash Flood threat. Thats a major concern when you think about atlanta is actually hilly. I spent a couple of years here and i was in virginia highlands. And theres a lot of trees, as you know, a lot of hills. And its tough to where youre going orientation wise because theres no Mountain Range to say, oh, i see the mountain, so im going north. Theres not that because of all the trees there. So i think thats a major concern here where youre thinking, all right, where am i going . Which way do i go . And a lot of the little gullies all fill up quickly, too. And so many homes are situated behind a lot of the hills and a lot of that water is going down into the lower lying areas. And you talk about the mountainous terrain that even becomes a bigger threat for a spot like asheville. We have the level four. They were saying this could be the worst flooding they have seen in over a century. Going back to 1916, they had similar back in 2004 when three separate Storms Kind of brought the remnants to that same area. But all the lower lying areas, mudslides become, a concern. AnD Even for some of these mountainous communities in recent years or not even recent, but theyve been cut completely. So Power Outages, potentially flooding that to me sticks out the most likely the worst threat moving, which is why weve got extended coverage even into the weekend. I agree with you throughout it all. We continue to watch helene as well this morning and throughout the weekend. As you mentioned, Fox Weather your Hurricane Hq. Well be tracking this catastrophic storm all night. Theres a picture out of Cedar Key, florida, Storm Surge beginning to recede, but still significant across floridas big Bend Region. Well be right back. We now have Hurricane Helene, the worst of this storm is likely yet to come, but were really taking it right. A very dangerous, perhaps deadly scenario. But each rain band, it gets more intense. All this an indication that there is a lot of atmospheric energy. This is just what weve seen all over the place. Thats a big wind. Its a big rain. And The Rain hurts. Weve got you covered. Stay with us for live coverage as we track helene fox, weather your Hurricane Hq, the headlines, the events, the story. Call the number on your call 800 25834943. Yeah, thats a big Power Plant. That was a massive Power Plant coming from that was fox. Theres Ian Oliver when a massive Power Flash went off. Craig oh my gosh. Thats your honest reaction. This is the first time i see this, i was asleep trying to get ready for this show. And this first time i see this. Wow, i know. And hes like, did you see that . And this is what were seeing or what we were seeing. That same beach, incredible and look at the tree swaying around as well. You have the Power Flashes where were going off. But that one dealt the final blow immediately. After all, power went out to the tampa area. And were looking at over 1. 3 million people without power in florida right now. I dont think well get too many more customers in florida, specifically Power Outages. Power outages, though, probably will extend into georgia and carolina. Tallahassee, florida, i believe this is actually a camera of tampa as opposed to tallahassee. The tampa, yeah. The Stop Signs not only cover, but this is just about the amount of Storm Surge weve seen for the better part of the last couple hours. So thats an example youre walking on the sidewalk or you pull up next to a Stop Sign and you look over it towers above your car unless youre in an suv that goes to show how high thE Water is. And i dont know if thats over on the right side of thE Screen, a bench that you would sit on or not but its got to be at least 3 to 3 feet, probably three feet high. Thats just so impressive. And its just sitting there. Another reason you dont want to go into thesE Waters, you dont know whats in there. Of course, at this time, you tend to get other things like sewage back up. Youve got debris in there. And if youve got a cut or an open wound, that could be a problem for you. So you want to stay out of thesE Waters. And i know we say that often. Sometimes you also go in it and you just cant do that. Yeah, thats a good point to make. ThosE Waters be dangerous in and of their own right, especially when you have power lines down, right . You can have electrified water. Unfortunately, we have seen deaths not pertaining to halloween in that nature, but with storms in the past. Things like that have happened for tampa. Right now, theyre on the Wind Gust side of things. At One Point, they were gusting 50, 60 plus Miles Per Hour. Now were looking at around 30. But its the onshore wind still creating a Storm Surge concern. The High Tide was about one 40 in the morning Eastern Time. So were beyond that. But still, the Flooding Concerns far from over for tampa. The image that you see on the right side of your screen, one of our exclusive storm trackers is there driving around. This is going to be the scene for many locations, which is another reason you want to stay home. Number one, businesses are closed offices are closed. Theres no reason to be on the road. Our schools are closed as well for most locations. But then youre driving along the road and you see a tree down just that out of nowhere. So debris everywhere. And its amazing. A lot. These Guys Who are out there, first responders, our exclusive storm trackers, they carry chainsaws. And so many times theyve gotten out of the car, just gotten rid of the tree and then cleared out debris. This is near lamont, florida, i believe. And its a crucial because you think of first responders trying to get to someone for help, they need to have a clear road. So this is just a Teamwork And Effort going into helping everyone in the community. And craig, you mentioned first responders. I think sometimes people think that they will always be able to get to you. Theyre first responders. They can go through anything. Thats actually not the case in 911 centers. Were actually believe put on on on hold for the overnight hours in spaces like tampa in and around that area because they werent able to respond to this with the worst of the conditions for a Spot East Bay 6. 3 feet with the storm and thats right now the max was over seven feet. Wow. Barely going down. And arlene has been ripping up the Florida Coast. Correspondent Mike Seidel was out in perry, florida, still is right now. Mike, you have the glasses on. So currently, im sure you probably think theres maybe still some debris look like theyre ripping. You went through the Eastern Eyewall the strongest part of the storm. How you fairing out right now . Oh, its much better now. We have a little bit of a light shower. This is about it for The Rainfall. The winds are still gusting upwards of 40 miles an hour from the other direction because were on the Back Side. So theyre coming around from the southwest or west. Southwest. We had a Wind Gust of 99 miles an hour on that Eastern Eyewall at 1110 eastern last night or tonight. But it was late on Thursday Night and that was their Peak Hour sustained winds, 55 miles an hour. So thats what is to knock out power the entire basically the entire county and all the counties in the big Bend Area are without power. And because of the wind, things will blow around and move around. For instance, this shed here in perry, one of our Storm Chasers, caught this earlier. It was blowing across the roadway. I dont know if it was someone she shed. But again, thats one of the reasons we tell you in a situation like this, stay off the roadways, not only because of that, but more importantly, a tree comes down on your car, you can get seriously injured or even lose your life. The trees have come down. Obviously, as were In The Dark, the power is out. Also heres some of the video i shot earlier. Now, this is on the first minutes of The Eyewall just just Down The Street here. There was power on site walk down there. So you could see how hard it was. Raining and blowing. These are Wind Gusts to about 60 miles an hour. So we werent in the worst of the storm at that point. This is about ten, ten, 15 eastern. This evening. And you get a sense of how hard it was raining, but it was such a quick hitter and such a fast moving hurricane. One of the about as fast as ive seen a hurricane make landfall upwards about 25 miles an hour. That The Rainfall, although it was hard. The total rainfall in this area was two and a half to three inches. Flash Flood Warning goes down anD Expired in about an hour, 315 eastern. And then the flood goes until tomorrow morning. But this area has fared very well as far as rainfall and flooding. It was really apalachee call up Panama City beach because they came into the storm with already 6 to 8 inches of rain and they did not get as much rain as we did here because theyre farther to the west. So all things considered we did okay. We didnt get the 100 and 2025 mile an hour Wind Gust we were concerned with at least not here in perry. We dont know what the final analysis will tell about what the highest wind was in this hurricane. But the other option is what do we do now . Its about power. Getting the power back on. The Power Crews will be in here in force. The mayor told us earlier this evening that theres going to be about A Thousand crews here tomorrow and they will be up on the Bucket Trucks and getting the power on as quickly as possible. But we know from a deluge last year it was 7 to 9 days before the power came back on. And it is still september or actually still september, not quite october. And it will be warming up once again and it will get a little a little muggy here in. The Big Bend of florida. Yeah, mike, for those who havent seen the video, we want to play this back and what you were experiencing, can you describe this compared to previous storms youve been in . Were showing it right now where you are right smack and smacked with those winds. The wall was coming over you. What was that like and how long did that last that was this just the wind and The Rain or is this the Power Flash . This is the wind in the. So yeah, youre in it and the wind and The Rain. Youre next to a white car, a small Palm Tree, a little bit lower than you and youre looking around and the winds just come in almost horizontally towards you. I think weve got some Power Flashes mixed in there too, as well. Got some pop. So yeah, there you go. That greenish hue in there, which is typically power versus like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that that was amazing. Ive never that many Power Flashes in just a short period of time. Ive one or two maybe within ten or 12 seconds. But i was home with our irene and. He was before he had a chance to tell me. I mean the whole sky lit up green, so he knew right away it was a lightning. I knew it was a lightning, but he knew right away because it was this green hue and it was boom, boom. But right, right after it, not one right after another. I never experienced that they were back there. The transformer. I dont know if it was. I have been multiple transformers, but they were in the same Chiller Area often that direction. But again, ive covered so many hurricanes and tropical storms and ive never, ever seen anything like that. That many Power Flashes. Ive seen them in ice storms too. But again, one or two and thats it. Wild. Its been a very interesting night, to say the least, in terms of the power, the Storm Surge, historic in many ways for a lot of different locations. And fortunately though 20, 24 Hurricane Season, not over yet, october coming back with a vengeance. Some of the models sending out some more activity. Weve got that regime change. So, mike, well definitely be seeing you the rest of this week, but maybe going on in the future with different storms. Thanks for joining us tonight. Once again, Mike Seidel, Fox Weather is your Hurricane Hq and were tracking the catastrophic storm all night long. Live shot of tampa, florida. Look at the Storm Surge, the Stop Sign that should get your attention. You can see how steady and how high thE Water currently is at this hour. This storm continues its track to the north with more impacts included for the entire southeast. Break that down when we come back. This is Fox Weather. Thanks for sticking with us at Fox Weather. The extended coverage of Hurricane Helene still. This video is live right now near florida. This is a city that is just towards the east of tallahassee ,florida, the capitol of The Sunshine state. A lot of vegetative debris just covering the roads. Notice a couple of vehicles had to stop impassable in a lot of instances. That live shot was taken from some of our Fox Weather exclusive storm trackers who have been all around this Storm System. They have chainsaws in the back of their car. That way, when they run into something like this, that can help people clear that debris. So i mentioned tallahassee in relation to lamont, a tallahassee at One Point was smack dab in the center of where the circulation could go, the center of the cone of uncertainty. And i think that was even earlier this morning, less than 24 hours before landfall. Things fared a little bit better for them as that shift wobbled a little more towards the big Bend Region. And then we bring you to this video. This was coming out of the Howard Franklin Bridge in tampa, almost looks like just water rushing, an earthquake almost going on. Its not the ground shaking. Its the camera, but definitely not anything i would want to be driving on. And these cars probably shouldnt be there. ThE Water just spilling over along the road. Unfortunately, weve a lot of scenes very similar to this all across florida and the Flooding Risk does continue further inland into spots like the Blue Ridge Mountains, far western South Carolina, western North Carolina anD East tennessee. This could be historic in its own right. The effects of halloween certainly far from over. Thats why weve got extended coverage not only into the overnight tonight, but also throughout the rest of this weekend. Halloween now, a category one at One Point, a massive, powerful category, the strongest hurricane to hit the big Bend Region in recent years. And really memory that weve gone back with records keeping a lot of moisture, though, still in enthralled with halloween, which is why The Rain rates have been substantial. Now, something thats been interesting with halloween and The Rain its going to be producing and already has is have a Cut Off low Pressure System that brought a Predecessor Rain Event to areas like the midatlantic, really towards the southeast, primarily and that already saturated the ground. The Soil Moisture is about 60 to 70 full. Thats sort of one way to put it. Then you add on all of this moisture, the exclusive Box Model highlighting the threat for atlanta really into the overnight hours, already watching the conditions get markedly worse. Ari sarwari was on with me earlier. He just moved from atlanta to the new York City area, but he remembers zeta hurricane zeta. That was back, believe it was, in 2020 and said that was a scary night for him. And a lot of instances in atlanta, theyre saying this could be some of the worst conditions they have seen in the better part of a decade. So would be worse than what folks felt back in zeta about four years ago. By friday into the morning and afternoon. Gusty winds still going to be there. Power outages probably still going to be widespread. A few scattered showers, rain bands. The worst of it, though, now going to meander towards the north. A lot of people have thrown around words like a Fujiwara Effect and some semblance. We usually talk about this with two separate hurricanes that move around together and then eventually merge into one. With this instance, though, its that Cut Off low Pressure System intermixing with helene, both of which are sort of doing a swirly effect out in the Tennessee Valley region. And thats why The Rains going to stay parked and be so potent. A lot of available Moisture Pumping into the southeast. Still some concerns when it comes to some coastal flooding. Not anywhere near what we had in tampa, maybe Just A Little Bit with the High Tide cycles. But a big reason why the focus is throughout apalachee, in the Blue Ridge Mountains is because of the mountainous terrain. We have something called an orographic flood risk. What happens here is the air rapidly rises as it moves over the mountainous terrain, and that acts as almost a person squeezing out a rag or some kind of sponge. And youre saying just getting every last ounce of water it can out of the out of the moisture there. So some of the highest peaks can see a decent amount of rain. But it all will end up flowing down the mountains and go into some of these river basins. So mountainous communities, including asheville, North Carolina, could see some of the worst they have had in the better part of a century. Thats where the attention next into the weekend. Lets go back to helenes past and what exactly the market left behind in a spot like tampa. Fox Weather CorrespondentBrandi Campbell is out in tampa right now. Brandy we were speaking to you last night, same hours here, completely different situation. ThE Water looks to be i mean, how many feet would you estimate anD Exactly where are you in relation to the Bay Area or to that bigger body of water . Yeah. So, haley, right now we are in down around tampa, so were kind of at the tip of where the Bays Meat at this point. And right now, i mean, were still seeing the flooding. You talked about some of the receding starting to happen happen. And were also seeing that here Just A Little Bit. So to show you that receding, mark, i mean, we have all this Bark Right here thats floated up so much shew in the bark, but we have the sidewalk right there, id say, about 45 minutes ago or so, thE Water was actually on top of that sidewalk. It was about maybe two inches or so. So just to give you an idea, this little sign right there was knocked over that was covered in water. So thats good news that thE Water is finally starting to go down. But just look at how much we are seeing. This is an entire block. We have the Hillsborough River that is just Down The Street crossing underneath that overpass that we can see off in the distance. Now, i want to show you guys some video of the same scene, but this was a couple of hours ago and showing some of the scenarios that people caught themselves and. You can see there was a Red Truck stuck in thE Water. There was actually two cars really ending up trying to make their way through this water. The drivers having to push their cars through anD Eventually they got towed out. So its been a pretty hectic situation for folks. I want to also show you where we were earlier today on bayshore boulevard. Thats on the other side of this river. That area, i mean, it was flooded for blocks and blocks and the police also blocking it off so people wouldnt drive into it. But what they couldnt really stop were the people getting into thE Water, some actually swimming around. We met two guys that were out there earlier today just getting thoughts on the impact from this storm as it was still daylight. Take a listen to what they said. Oh, its crazy. Ive never ive never seen it this bad. I dont know. Just been walking around and its gotten worse. Earlier, i was walking during the day down here and it wasnt as bad. And its just completely flooded. Well, for me, this is the worst, though. Originally, im from california ,moved to South Carolina and coming here seeing this. Im used to fires, not water. So this is totally different. Yeah, right. All right. And just to give you guys some perspective of how people have really thought about this storm, some they were preparing, doing the necessary things, but also thinking well be okay. Just, you know, in the past, things have kind of gone us. Haley, i know youre talking about the Bubble Situation we had. I lived shreveport, louisiana. They also had the barksdale bubble, i believe they thought the weather went around the spot. But in this case, this was recorded Storm Surge. And so this time we were not missed. You get past this if you were trying to get home across. This bridge, unfortunately, and its not just the flooding. We had some pretty strong Wind Gusts. So theres a lot of palm fronds like this right here that you can see that, you know, this is obviously a dead one. But theres a lot of that around town. And then you have the Power Outages. I cant tell if there are any in this immediate area. I mean, you see The Street lights are on in The Bridge, but there are over 92,000 Power Outages just in Hillsborough County and 1. 2 Million across the state. So, i mean, a lot of people In The Dark tonight going into tomorrow. Unfortunate at least. Back to you. Brandi, have you seen any response to efforts going on . I know its really late, but our Bucket Trucks may be trying to come out. Are you seeing people trying to remove some of the debris just in light of folks waking up tomorrow . And im also curious, yesterday you were showing, i believe it was a hospital and they had these like aqua, i think is what it was called. Not sure if you know how they fared in something like this. I thought it was a really interesting thing that that hospital ended up deploying. Yeah, well, starting off with the hospital, they posted to x about an hour or two ago that their fence is actually held up. Its a pretty cool because you can see thE Water on one side of the fence and theres a Man Standing on the other side just kind of testing it out, i guess. And It So far It Sounds like its been working for them and it has in the past when it comes to the response. Well, right next to as you can see, theres a Police Vehicle. So theyre at least making sure people are not into this water. They havent let anyone drive into it. AnD Even if we were to look down the road, you can see there are more Police Cars stopping anyone from coming in to this area. But as far as rescue go, we havent heard of any reports. But i have seen people posting tags that theres water in some of their homes. So there may be that scenario going on that we just havent seen reported just yet. So well have to wait for that to, i guess, come to light. But i would imagine that there may be a needed response. There are high water vehicles out and around because we did see them earlier and that was about four or 5 hours ago at this point. So its just a matter of getting that information from the Police Department here. Well, brandy, thanks for staying out there in the dangerous conditions and bringing us the live reports as. Its been happening tonight. Well be checking back in with you. Thanks for sticking up with. Of course. Well, heres how things look out in atlanta. This is a live picture. Hard to tell exactly going on with the with the camera. I can only imagine rain is starting to come down, especially in South Georgia. Atlanta still has the worst of it yet to come later on into the early morning hours. Yeah, georgia really getting ready for a lot of rain, especially into the higher elevations as well. He had a Stone Mountain North of there up into the great smokies, the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is going to be widespread as we go through the next several days. River flooding potential landslides in higher elevations. And when you think about the amount of wind that still with helene, of course, i think a lot of trees continue to come down over atlanta, over North Georgia, South Georgia, into the appalachians and North Carolina, even into tennessee, the great state of tennessee and the great Smoky Mountains will be dealing with some flooding. Yeah, i think in total, five different states declared a state of emergency. I believe maybe a portion of alabama might have as well a Far Eastern Alabama, but definitely georgia. Helene, at this point, still 90 Miles Per Hour with that max wind. So its still a category one hurricane. When you have such a powerful cat four upon landfall, even the rapid weakening is happening. And i mean, it rapidly weakened over the last few hours. Category one hurricane still exists. And moving through tifton, georgia, right about at this point in time. And look how far the hurricane winds extend outside of tifton. And the, of course, tropical Storm Force winds were way out into the atlantic and that offshore push is still moving through behind it. The storm to the north from that counterclockwise rotation, you still see that onshore push into tampa tampa, gusting up to 32 Miles Per Hour there. We also have some the is at 40 all The Way to lake city. The entire state being affected by this. And you go down to the south, key west, since yesterday, 50, 55 mile per hour gusts continues to be the story today. You can see why we have widespread Power Outages. And this is just one spot. And its even to the not only the big Bend Region, but all on the eastern seaboard of florida as well, and not necessarily as big in terms of the Power Outages, but to see some of those numbers trickle up. The hurricane winds still continue even as far north through macon by atlanta. The Hurricane Gusts are going to be the Story Weve already seen, i believe, 86 Miles Per Hour on that top Wind Gusts. And how about the timing . Right i mean, youre feeling it now, but youre really going to feel it close to 8 00. So its best to work from home. Stay home today. If things are closed, thats probably good for you. Well see the Forecast Track continue going up into the north. Strong winds with it and a whole lot of rain eventually will interact with another area of low pressure and drop more rain over portions of the Tennessee Valley. Yep. So wind, rain tornadoes, another threat that well be tracking throughout the rest of today, far over with our coverage with helene. Well, heres the picture from valdosta, georgia, took on The Eyewall of a weakened helene, but still very powerful. Fox weather is your Hurricane Hq and we are tracking this catastrophic storm all night long. Emily harris and Kelly Slater taking on the hot topics with powerful perspective and smart insight. The Landfall Event that is halloween. Still tracking ongoing threats. Flood alert still widespread, including areas into florida, still some outer rain bands still going to be a threat for maybe some additional Storm Surge flooding as well as freshwater flooding. And then the threat now positions itself towards the apalachee mountains and into the Blue Ridge Mountains in areas where that orographic Flood Threat is going to be a big concern. Flood threat aside, we also are tracking out the potential for tornadoes. Weve had a few confirmed tornadoes already and unfortunately, it is believed at this point two people died in South Georgia from a tornado it could have been a severe storm that moved through, but it was some kind of severe weather. And theyre thinking tornado at this point in time. 8 a. M. Eastern time is when the Tornado Watch expires. Thats for areas in South Carolina and southern North Carolina as well, georgia. But we have a pretty high threat here. Thats a 10 chance, a level three out of five, if you will, a four areas in the immediate coastline. If you do have a Flash Flood warning coupled with a Tornado Warning, you want to use your best judgment. Is there active flooding . If there is, you want to make sure you get away from that flooding. If theres a Tornado Warning issued, especially if it is confirmed, seek low ground and make sure that you are in the most Interior Room in your home. A like atlanta, just about to move out towards the east of where this Eye Wall is moving into. Be a treacherous next few days. Weve got extended coverage into the weekend. Georgia is now starting to see some of the impacts from the massive Hurricane Helene. Still that category two just battering areas like valdosta, georgia. Fox multimedia reporter Caroline Elliott is out in. Valdosta. Caroline, your shot looks a little bit better and saying something because It Still looks pretty nasty out there. And right now in this county without power and, the state of georgia, around 160,000 customers are without power. So this is certainly going to be an issue throughout the night. I will also say City Officials right now are saying that theyre already seeing a lot of downed trees in this area and that to say something because visibility is not great right now. So we really wont know the extent of this damage until Sunrise Tomorrow or until we get power back on in this area. So, again, we do know that City Officials, that was their big concern tonight. Trees would topple over, possibly on a structure, possibly on a familys home. So that was the message. And that was the concern from City Officials. But we do know in the last couple hours there have been several Wind Warnings telling people here to get inside and also find that Interior Room inside their house just for safety reasons hailey. Well, valdosta, georgia, is a somewhat larger town. Were talking about 55,000 people. But atlanta is next. On helenes Hit List. Really . And thats just about half A Million people. Have you seen any Emergency Response efforts taking place right now . Have you heard of anything . And as you mentioned, you know, youre in the overnight hours and its hard to really be able to tell exactly whats taken Place Damage wise until the daylight comes. Have you seen any damage in your immediate area . Well, haley, Thats Something were definitely going to keep an eye on here in the next couple of hours and really throughout night. But we do know there are several areas right now in, georgia under a Tornado Watch and many other areas, a Wind Advisory as well. So we do expect, again, that conditions are going to get worse. Conditions are going to keep moving north overnight. But again, that message to a lot of people is to not take this storm lightly and to really safety in this situation. Haley yeah, i think a really great point, too. I feel like in the precursor of this event, everybodys focused on florida, but atlanta, valdosta and into the carolinas are certainly going to be feeling some massive you went through it in terms of the outer eyewall. I mean, Heavy Rain, winds, it looks a little better. But again, i hesitate to even say a little bit because its still not a nasty night for you out there. But Caroline Elliott, thanks for joining us tonight and sticking up late with us to cover your end of the storm. Weve got more video coming out of lamont, florida. This is live. This is whats going on down across floridas panhandle. This is just towards the east of tallahassee. We keep coming back to this. Weve seen quite a bit of debris on the road, just vegetative debris, but enough to stop quite a few cars. Yeah, take a look at as youre driving that are driving out there, debris down on the road, The Rain still coming down. I think a lot of these trees have lost a lot of their either limbs or portions of it. I worry when you think about this because we talked about the crops with all of the winds. Weve got the cotton almost in harvest and portions of georgia peanuts are big as well. Hey, what weve got going on The Way are the Flooding Concerns over for the rivers . The rivers are going to be rising. And not only that, but its going to take some time for the rivers to come back down. Yeah, weve got multiple inland locations set to experience some major moderate flooding in addition to the Storm Surge. Were still tracking out across the florida peninsula. Well be right back. Everyone down from firsthand, interviews with families and much more. These are stories every hurricane, helene turning deadly. At least three people now reported killed, two in georgia and one out in florida. The storm hammering floridas Bend Region as it moves deeper into the southeast. Even throughout the rest of this weekend, winds of 140 Miles Per Hour, flooding, rain and unsurvivable storm battered The Sunshine state. And as of now, over 1 Million customers without power in florida. That number rising in georgia. And this is one of the biggest hurricanes that we have ever seen in the gulf coast region. Its power extending into areas throughout multiple states across the southeast. Tornado and Flash Flood warnings are blanketing georgia extending right through North Carolina where this storm is headed as Fox Weather continues and we seeing debris all across portions of the south. And when we look at the extent of this, haley, weve got rounds of this to go several days. The effects are really affecting millions of people all across the southeast. Hello, everyone, and welcome to weather. Im haley meyer. Good morning to you. Oak creek, where we continue coverage here On Fox with the coverage of Hurricane Helene. And we want to extend a special welcome to all of our Fox News channel viewers as well as, those of you watching all across the country on your local fox stations. Helene, its been a night. I mean, this was a real overnight threat for a lot of places and still overnight for a lot of people in Southern Georgia as well. Landfall was at 11 10 p. M. Eastern time. This was for the florida Big Bend. This was a little bit removed, about 40 miles or so removed from where debby made landfall just earlier, maybe a month or so ago at the very most. Yeah. And it was a category four storm intensified as it got closer to the coast as we were forecasting. And talking about tallahassee, dealing with some of The Rain in tallahassee was really preparing as they were right smack in the center, the cone for a moment. AnD Even though this wall was Just A Little Bit, it was enough to kind of spare them from some of the strongest winds. They still got some winds, dont me wrong, and a lot of rain. Tallahassee preparing by also they getting their students out of school. Of course, this is the State Capital. The State Capital offices were taking precautions and this video blows my minD Every time, haley. Theres been a lot of just jaw dropping eye opening video. This is the Howard Frankland Bridge waterway. So it connects Downtown Tampa out towards Saint Pete and Clearwater Beaches. A lot of cars driving on this. I dont know why that would be the last thing i want to do, but honestly, floridians were wellprepared. This was a very well forecasted storm, not only by meteorologists, but also the forecast models, the gfs until case for about two weeks. We were watching that closely and before the storm haD Ever even formed, the gfs was all over it. So when it all started to come together and then the storm came together, we knew this is going to be a big, strong storm. And we were hoping that you were prepared and getting you ready for that. A lot of our exclusive storm trackers are out on the roads this morning, fanned out across the southeast. Now The Rain for many of you still a big deal. The winds are still a big deal. And Storm Surge has also been a big part of the story. Tornadoes, all of it. This is all on the Board Today as we go through the afternoon in. Hurricane helene is still a category one storm as its over Southern Georgia right now. No surprise, though, because it was that big, that powerful, losing some of its energy, but still holding right now as a category one over portions of South Georgia. I mean, when you have that big of a Storm System in that powerful, its going to maintain those hurricane characteristics. It also has a surface low pressure that its beginning to interact with a little bit. And that actually made the antecedent conditions a lot of places across more interior areas that still have yet to feel. Helene already saturated. What you see here is the Perry Florida Wind and gusts. This was when it went under The Eyewall. Mike seidel was out there. Multiple Power Flashes. The top wind reports so far out of perry was just shy of 100 Miles Per Hour at 99. But watch when The Eyewall finally jumps in and you are at the center, the winds begin to die down. Its a really remarkable thing to see with your own eyes anD Even from graphs as well. Its amazing you think about that. Often people will see the sky, the stars and the often reminded do not go out after that because the second side of that storm is going to come through and that will come with more in The Way of winds as well. We still have some Storm Surge to go, still onshore push of winds as helene moves farther towards the north. The forecast for this storm far from over and were still checking out the impacts from helene. So we have a live reporter. This is Fox Weathers Robert Ray who is on the ground out in fox city, florida. Robert, you were just due east of the Eastern Eyewall, but your shot still looks pretty dangerous, still debris around you. Youve been through a couple hurricanes not only this year, but many over the last couple of years. Whats been your experience with helene in comparison to the outer Eye Walls versus the Eastern Eyewall that youve been through many a time . Yeah, well, i mean, you know, any time you have a category four with 140 mile an hour sustained winds out in the Gulf Of Mexico, thats going to hit a pocket of florida that, frankly is very difficult to cover. A hurricane in the big band nature coast, its not very populated, but its to find places where you can take Cover And Shelter in this. Yeah, its very hard. AnD Even though, yeah, we were on the to the east of the Eastern Eyewall we did we got some pretty good Wind Gusts here unfortunately and some very, very Heavy Rains. You see some of the Tree Debris down there was. No power here. And i just hope to god its not as as it potentially could be. Some of the predictions 10 to 20 feet by the national Hurricane Center as far as Storm Surge. And that is truly remarkable if indeed that happened. We just dont know those numbers quite yet. And so we are going to sleep in our cars tonight. The Fox Weather beast and two other vehicles will get shut eye. We will watch The Sun come up and hopefully these winds dissipate at that point. And well be thinking of everyone up in the state of georgia, the atlanta area. Ive already heard from one of the suburban eoc is roswell. Theyve got downed trees and other issues. We know are issues in sandy springs, another one of those suburbs and. The system will then trek up into chattanooga on the border of tennessee, georgia, and then into nashville and the carolinas to lots of people, millions of people affected by hurricane. And lets just hope that this is the last storm of the season because even though we have not a massive amount of named storms, the storms have come in and have had put a lot of people through, a lot of trauma and a lot of issues, so many people, millions or over 1,000,001. 3 here in the state out of power tonight. And The System is still kicking up the winds and at least here on the Big Bad haley. Well, robert, i think thats an important point to make there, that its not about the number of storms, the impacts. And weve already had three landfalls. This would make the fourth us landfall in 2024. Unfortunately, one was for the same exact region, the big Bend Region of florida that would be debby. And that made landfall, i believe, right near steinhatchee. So what was the sentiment when you were covering debby in terms of how these businesses maybe were even still recovering from sedalia and how you think theyre going to fare when it comes to Halloween And Fury that weve seen tonight . I think that the towns on the coast, Cedar Key and steinhatchee, are going to have some real issues here. You think about this like as you alluded to in the past year, adele, then debby and then now, helene, i mean, these are places that have gone through the gamut. Theyve had to evacuate all boats out, have had their entire livelihoods destroyed by the Storm Surge. And these are people that make their living off of the coast. Many are fishermen. And so theres going to be major issues in the aftermath of this. We just dont know quite yet until we can assess tomorrow when the light comes up. And then, you know, first responders are in the same boat as far as anyone needing help on the nature coast, on the Big Bad, they cant get out until of this dissipates. And, you know, we still are gusty winds and rain though The System tracking up into georgia right now is a category two. I just hope that atlanta does not see Hurricane Force gusts tonight. That is a place that just cannot handle that. Lots of huge trees, hills and a lot of Flash Flooding. There are so many people, millions of people that live there that. If indeed they get those guys, were going to have major issues and theyre seeing problems up in the atlanta area. Haley yeah, Robert Atlanta under a catastrophic Flash Flood warning right now. So thats an elevated level of a Flash Flood warning before seeing a Flash Flood emergency. Not a guarantee that well see that from atlanta, but already having a saturated ground you tack on Wind Gusts and a bunch of trees that really are plagued across the entire southeast. But thanks for your report tonight. Truly are the best in the business and getting this stories of. So well definitely be checking in with you not only the rest of tonight, but going forward over the next few days when it marks the Recovery Efforts that are indefinite for a lot of areas across the southeast. I appreciate it, haley. And we will be out doing exactly what you just said and. Were committed to it here on Fox Weather and the Fox News channel and. Youve got to keep with us. October seems to be different story. But robert, best wishes to you and to your family i know that you live in atlanta. Your family is at home. So well be checking back in with you. Thanks so much. Weve got a new crew thats waking up and were passing on the baton. Were still watching helenes impacts as they move portions of florida, but even farther into the interior of the u. S. Yeah, we now joined Fox WeatherMeteorologist Marissa torres. Youve been in and around Tallahassee Checking in with you on the latest. Good morning to you, my friend. Good morning to you, my friends, craig and haley. So yesterday, if folks were joining us, we were in St Marks. Thats on the southern part, Wakulla County. It was in that mandatory Evacuation Zone that had the potential for earlier in the day to see that 15 to 20 foot Storm Surge. As we watch the center of Helene Start to make more of an eastward wobble. And as you both know, Just A Little Bit of a shift can have a huge difference in that Storm Surge impact. So fortunate. So the Surge Potential came down a little bit for St Marks ,but it was still rather high. So were going to be exploring St Marks later and well call a county. We are here, as you mentioned, in tallahassee, the State Capital. Wind is still howling here in Leon County, in Leon County. This is one of the more densely populated counties in the big Bend Area. You have about 72,000 customers that are without power at this point, which is still more than of the county. When you talk about what Color County to our south have about 15, 16,000 customers there without power, but thats a majority of the county. So that has to have to do the population size. So winds here in tallahassee, lets talk about that because its howling so you have to remember, were kind of in the heart of tallahassee. So these winds start to get funneled through the buildings like youre seeing here at this point, because were just waking up. Safer to stay closer to the hotel because The Sun is still down until we have a full scope of some of the damage. Were hearing about quite a few trees that might be power, obviously, outside probably some of the bigger trees, those big oak trees have the beautiful, smart Spanish Moss that hangs off of it likely coming down. So the precaution is waiting travel, at least for a little bIt So we can get a better idea of some of that damage. When does calm for a moment. The biggest gust we had around midnight was right around 70 Miles Per Hour, i believe, at 67 Miles Per Hour. Got the information from stephen mccloud, one of the producers thats been keeping me informed out of Home Base in new york. When you look at the winds now, the last gusts i saw was right around 40. Here comes, another one. So were not in the clear yet. Id say, you know, overall, were in the homestretch with helene. Its been broken down into some chapters and phases for tallahassee i think were in the final phase of dealing with helene. The wind blowing. Honestly, you look around, theres really not much damage. Its at this immediate area. I think it will be different when we venture out into the more of the communities. Were not too far from the State Capital. Have all these state operations. We know governor Ron Desantis riding out, helene here in tallahassee, his family as well at the governors mansion. So you haD Everything that gets, you know, all the all the big decisions made here out of tallahassee and then disseminated to the rest of the state. You had most counties under state of emergency, leon, being one of them. As we watch the shift of helene overall, we did see more of the impacts further to where Robert Ray is. Further into perry, further Cedar Key with the record Storm Surge. So a lot of concern as we start to see some of the fallout will be focused in through Leon County and Wakulla County throughout the morning and then further into the afternoon. When i rode in already, when i came in on what day was it . Wednesday, i actually had several red cross members, volunteers that were on my flight. And there is a Headquarters And Hq for red cross here in tallahassee. But the folks i spoke to, you know, their volunteers, they got the orders to come in to tallahassee and then they were going to be sent out. So red cross has been on the ground waiting to see where they were going to be needed most. Utility brought in from all over in order to help get power back on. We still have power, fortunately. So but im i know thats not going to be the same story foR Everybody. Craig and haley up this morning. Back to you. Yeah, marissa, i mean, at this point, tallahassee, theyve had no major hurricanes that have tracked directly over the city. But earlier, even on thursday, right before. Landfall, that wasnt necessarily the case. That was a here we had that wobble moving over farther into the big Bend Region. I am just curious. You were maybe asleep, but what was overnight period like when maybe you could have been woken up with some of the worst of the of the storm moved through your area . Thankfully, you know, the worst of things did move farther off your east. Yeah, you know, fortunately so for the western fringes of that eyewall, we started to see Wind Shear. We started see drier air. So that spared places like tallahassee some of the worst. Same cant be said. Our neighbors to the east for experience, you know, knowing we were going to be up at 3 a. M. , i, i did try to get a little bit of sleep and i set my alarm. Once i realized when was going to be making impacts and when we knew wed have landfall we had that approximate time. So i woke up, looked out, and it was rain and wind. Rain and wind. And for the most part, things were holding together, at least from our Vantage Point, just watching local news, to be quite honest and seeing what some of the impacts might be. A lot of it looks to be to the east. Now, there are outages here, but i think the worst of it is going to be where we have our crews. When you look at Saint PeteSaint Petersburg, tampa, Cedar Key, steinhatchee, these areas, you mentioned debby, which is interesting, too, because tallahassee, this area in particular, has had such close calls with landfalls. When you talk about tallahassee anD Even down where we were in Wakulla County, down near St Marks, along the river, people there heard 15 to 20 foot Storm Surge and they said thats not going to happen. It just never has. And they said, well, it could. And we knew. Helene sighs matter. The category was going to lead to devastating surge. It just was where it be the worst. So, you know, yeah, weve had close calls here a. Lot of people had their sandbags because of debby from before. And a lot of people knew what to expect. Im hearing because of a daily some people, some perspective saying a delta was worse for them. Its all about where you are in position landfall. But these are the two most recent storms of note and the two most recent storms that had people ready. Maybe they made those repairs and they were stronger going into helene haley. I think thats a good point to make to the previous storms ,floridians have learned from them. And tallahassee came out on the better end of this. Marissa, thanks for getting up so early. Well be checking back in with you throughout the rest of today with whats the latest coming out of tallahassee as The Sun begins to come up for all of florida . Heres that picture out of Cedar Key, florida. This at one Point Rustling waves. Now things look pretty calm, but that Storm Surge significant. Its up to the roof at One Point. Right. Just really incredible. One of our storm trackers with his cameras out there in Cedar Key, Fox Weather your Hurricane Hq. We continue to track the catastrophic storm all night long. Go that was a massive Power Plan coming from that was foxworthys Ian Oliver that was through the thick of it out in Saint Pete beach, florida. He eventually moved farther into but just look at that Power Flash lighting up the entire Sky Mean even ians reaction similar to every one of our here back in new York City. That green hue you know thats what that is. And this always scares me. You can hear the sirens going off into the distance, but Power Outages and Power Outages for georgia still on the incline. Were just over just shy of 500,000, half A Million in the state of georgia. Power outages now trickling into areas like atlanta, but weve had Wind Gusts of around 100 Miles Per Hour out in alma, georgia. Perry, florida had a Wind Gust report of 99. Heres some of the wind and rain. Yeah, you can see it just blows sideways, especially when you look at the lot. That rain just continues to move through. And then asheville, North Carolina, area that we are concerned with because of amount of rain that has fallen store front. And now weve got more rain as helene moves to the north. So this water has nowhere to asheville, North Carolina, nestled right smack in the appalachians beautiful town if youve never been there. I love that spot. And i think we could see some landslides potentially in and around portions of the blue ridge, the great Smoky Mountains, tallahassee, florida, right now, our own marissa torres live out there. Well check in with with her throughout the day. And so many reports. Our team fanned out across the southeast. Also in tampa, florida, ian of are one of our meteorologists who is out there covering the storm. And he worked in tampa. So he knows the area very, very well. The reports are coming in and he talked about alma, the 100 mile per hour Wind Gusts. Yeah, thats a record for them. Looking up more information them i dont know all of alma very well, but its the blueberry capital of the world and or georgia, rather. And when you think about the crops being affected in from blueberries to almonds to peanuts to cotton, this is going to have major impacts outside of what everyone else is as well. Look at the storm reports. Yeah, were in the Harvest Season for, a lot of different crops and certainly with Georgia Hit and really hard with this, we even had numerous tornado reports still a threat that well continue to track out. We still have a couple of Tornado Warnings that will be in coming. But in the city of jordan, there was a tornado at a cemetery. And then out in broxton, an update to previous tornado reports with a double wide trailer moving off of its foundation. Unfortunately, i believe two people lost their life in what looks to be a tornadic system associated with helene. And then you bring it over areas like Hilton Head island in coastal South Carolina. Thats where were actually have the highest threat for tornadoes going into friday. Yeah, weve already seen some not only tonight, We Saw yesterday as well, those bands coming on to the coast very strong. And the impacts here is with these tornadoes, they happen quickly, but they cause a lot of damage, as you can see there in the city of Lodge Emergency Manager relayed reports of trees down at Bells Highway and Woodrow Drive possible tornado. I think were going to see more of these reports throughout the day. You have to be ready to get to your safe spot because, again, a lot of them happen quickly and not a whole lot of notice. And then we bring it back to the Flooding Threat. And we showed that video of asheville. That was before halloween really even made its impacts. The worst for asheville is still yet to come. And youre already talking about i dont know how deep that floodwater was. I would maybe say about a foot. And so this could be historic something they havent seen for the better part of a century since 1916. You mentioned landslides. Definitely to be a key concern, especially with all the mountainous regions we have out there. Most people never been through this type of event. When you think about 1916, yes, youve had flooding. Yes, youve had some Heavy Rain. But this is something significant that is ongoing. And as the storm, helene, continues to track up to the north, interact another one, hailey. Then It Squeezes out even more because its going to stall and sit in the area for probably 2 to 3 days. Thats also a concern. Greenville bridge has been washed out near greenville, tennessee, from flooding a lot of this does go into the great smokies, places like severe ville, pigeon forge, gatlinburg, also dealing with flooding, a lot of touristy locations. A lot of folks out in this area. As the coverage of helene continues. And arlene has been ripping up the Florida Coast. So this correspondent Mike Seidel, was out in perry, florida still is right now. Mike, you have the glasses on. So currently, im sure you probably think theres maybe still some debris winds look like theyre ripping. You went through the Eastern Eyewall, the strongest part of the storm. How are you fairing out right. Oh, its much better now. We have a little bit of a light shower. This is about it for The Rainfall. The winds are still gusting upwards of 40 miles an hour from the other direction because were on the Back Side. So theyre coming around from the southwest or west. Southwest. We had a Wind Gust of 99 miles an hour in that eastern at 1110 eastern last night, or the tonight. But it was late on Thursday Night and was her Peak Hour sustained winds, 55 miles an hour. So thats what is going to knock out power the entire basically the entire county and all the counties in the big Bend Area are without power. And because of the wind, things will blow around and move around. For instance, the shed here in perry, one of our Storm Chasers, this earlier as it was blowing across the roadway. I dont know if it was someone she shed, but again, thats one of the reasons we tell you in a situation like this, stay off the roadways, not only because of that, but more importantly, a tree comes down on your car you can get seriously injured or even lose your life. The trees have come down tonight, obviously, as were In The Dark, the power is out. Also, heres some of the video i shot earlier. Now, this is on the first minutes of The Eyewall just just Down The Street here. There was power on walk down there so you could see how hard it was raining and blowing. These are Wind Gusts to about 60 miles an hour. So we werent in the worst of the storm at that point. This is about ten, ten, 15 eastern this evening. And you get a sense of how hard it was raining, but it was such a quick hitter and such a fast hurricane. One of the about as fast as ive seen a hurricane make landfall upwards of about 25 miles an hour. That rainfall, although it was hard, the total rainfall, this area was two and a half to three inches. Flash Flood Warning goes down anD Expires in about an hour, 315 eastern. And then the Flood Watch goes until tomorrow morning. But this area has fared very well as far as rainfall and flooding. It was really apalachee, Panama City beach, because they came into the storm with already 6 to 8 inches of rain and they did not get as much rain as we did here because theyre farther to the west. So all things considered we did okay. We didnt get the 100 and 2025 mile an hour Wind Gust. We were concerned with at least here in perry. We dont know what the final analysis will tell us about what the highest wind was in this hurricane. But the other option is what do we do now . Its about power getting the power back on. The Power Crews will be in here in force. The mayor told us earlier this evening that theres going to be about A Thousand crews here tomorrow and. They will be up on the Bucket Trucks and getting the power on as quickly as possible. But we know from a deluge last year it was to nine days before the power came back on and it is still Septic Power or actually, yeah, still september, not quite october. And it will warming up once again and it will get a little a little muggy here in the Big Bend of florida. Yeah. Mike, for those who havent seen the video, we want to play this back what you were experiencing. Can you describe this compared to previous storms youve been in . Were showing it right now where you are right smack getting smacked with those winds. The wall was coming over you. What was that like . And how long did that last . That was this the wind and The Rain or is this the Power Flash . This is the wind in the wind. Yeah, youre in it. And the wind and The Rain. Youre next to a white car and a small Palm Tree a little bit lower than you. And youre looking around and the winds just come in almost horizontally toward you. I think weve got some Power Flashes mixed in there, too, as well. Got some pop. So yeah, there you go that greenish hue in there, which is typically power versus like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That that was amazing. Ive never seen that many Power Flashes in just a short period of time. Ive seen one or two, maybe within ten or 12 seconds. But i was home with ari and, and he was before he had a chance to tell me, i mean, the whole sky lit up green. He knew right away it was a lightning. I knew it was a lightning. But he knew right away because it was this green hue and it was boom, boom boom. Right. Right after a knot, one right after another. I never experience they were back there. The transformer. I dont know if it was it must have been multiple transformers, but they were in the same Chiller Area in that direction. But again, ive covered so many hurricanes and tropical storms and ive never, ever seen anything like that that many Power Flashes. Ive seen them in ice storms. But again, one or two and thats it. Wild. Its been a very night, to say the least, in terms of the power, the Storm Surge historic in many ways for a lot of different locations. And fortunately, though 20, 24 Hurricane Season, not over yet. October coming back with a vengeance. Some of the models sending out some more activity. Weve got that regime change. So mike, well definitely be seeing you the rest of this week, but maybe going on in the future with different storms. Thanks for joining us tonight. Once again, Mike Seidel, fox, weather is your Hurricane Hq. Were tracking this catastrophic storm all night long. This is a live shot of tampa, florida. Take a look at the Stop Sign center. Your screen, you can see where the flood waters have gone up several feet in some cases, but still very high. Were talking about Storm Surge ,strong winds, Tornado Threat, Flooding Threat extends all The Way into portions of the appalachians and across the southeast. The coverage Hurricane Helene still continues. This the camera on a Tallahassee Florida still dark outside over the vast majority of really the entire us waiting for The Sunlight to maybe reveal some of damage left behind a spot like the Howard Frankland Bridge. I mean, this was a scary moment. And this was even before landfall anD Even before tampa on the worst of the Storm Surge. Look at the cars driving over that. That just blows my mind. And thats going to be tampa there. Tampa seeing some historic records with Storm Surge, some spots topping more than seven feet. Yeah. So not every major hurricane, idalia or ian, brought this type of weather to, the area, but that bridge, that video and i know the camera shaking because of the wind. But you could see all of thE Water over The Bridge. Right. So scary. And i think were going to see more in The Way of strong winds, a lot of rain not done with this. Even some Tornado Warnings which weve been covering. This is still a storm thats going to continue to impact us right through the weekend. I mean, just look at the live radar. Almost the entire state of georgia under a Flash Flood warning. AnD Even in a spot like atlanta, theyve a catastrophic Flash Flood warning for the better part of the last five, 6 hours. Plus now were watching those Flash Flood warnings become more expansive into apalachee, the Blue Ridge Mountains. We also have that Tornado Warning that in buford, South Carolina. But thats the outer rain bands that are still going to be pretty active in terms of tornadic conditions for rest of friday, not only for South Carolina, but even in through northern florida. Well. Its amazing when you see these bands one after the other like spokes go right over georgia, right over the perimeter, and a lot of the flooded roadways are a concern. Atlanta actually is a little bit hilly. If youve never been there. Theres a little bit of a hill throughout the city. A lot of trees, a lot of lower lying areas will hold. A lot of thE Water. And when youve got bands like This One after the other coming through very impressive. Also impressive, the winds. Oh, my gosh. I mean, 100 Miles Per Hour for alma, georgia. That actually beats perry, florida, with 99 Miles Per Hour. Perry, florida took on the Eastern Eyewall when it was still a category four. So, alma, im sure they were not necessarily caught off guard, but probably not expecting 100 Miles Per Hour. Thats a significant number. Yeah. And you think of perry, florida, and you go all The Way to georgia and then southeast of the corner of the state dealing with those strong winds. I think when you think about the wind aspect, its still holding tight because helene is still category one hurricane and we still have some winds very strong, especially to the center of the storm with those outer bands making it on to the coast, could see somE Waterspouts and some tornadoes. You talk about South Carolina. We saw some tornadoes yesterday, all Night Yesterday ,yes, overnight last night into this morning, North Carolina could see those as well as portions of georgia into the Florida Panhandle or not Florida Panhandle. But the side of florida, right close to jacksonville, that is a pretty big threat when you look at this, youre looking for level three threat. And because we have onshore flow of wind, were still looking at maybe some Storm Surge impacts for. These very same areas along the outer banks and out towards South Carolina and the North Carolina coastline. So those are some concerns flooding, tornadoes, freshwater flooding as well. Weve got a long couple of days ahead of us, even into the weekend with extended coverage. Lets go back to halloweens past and what exactly the market left behind in a spot like tampa. Fox Weather CorrespondentBrandi Campbell is out in tampa right now. Brandi, we were speaking to you last night, same hours here. Completely different situation. ThE Water looks to be i mean, how many feet would you estimate anD Exactly where are you in relation to the Bay Area or to that bigger body of water . Yeah. So, haley, right now we are in Downtown Tampa, so were kind of at the tip of where the bays meet at this point. And right now, i mean, were still seeing the flooding. You talked about some of the receding starting to happen, happen. And were also seeing that here Just A Little Bit. So to show you, that receding, mark, i mean, we have all this Bark Right here thats floated up, someones shoe in the bark, but we have the sidewalk right there. Id say about 45 minutes ago or so, thE Water was actually on top that sidewalk. It was about maybe two inches or so. So just to give you an idea, this little sign right there that was knocked over, that was covered in water. So thats good news that thE Water is finally starting to go down. But just look at how much we are seeing. This is an entire block. We have the Hillsborough River that is just Down The Street crossing that overpass that we can see off the distance. Now, i want to show you guys some video of the same, but this was a couple of hours ago and showing some of the scenarios that people caught themselves. And you can see there was a Red Truck stuck in thE Water. There was actually two cars really ending up trying to make their way through water. The drivers having to push their cars through anD Eventually got towed out. So its been a pretty hectic situation for. I want to also show you where we were earlier today on bayshore boulevard. Thats on the other side of, this river. That area, i mean, it was flooded for blocks and blocks and blocks. And the police also blocking it off so people wouldnt drive into it. But what they couldnt really stop were the people getting into thE Water. Some actually swimming around. We met two guys that were out there earlier today just getting thoughts on the impact from this storm as it was still daylight. Take a listen to what they said. Oh, its crazy. Ive never ive, never seen it this bad. I know. Ive just been walking around and its gotten worse. Earlier, i was walking during the day down here and it wasnt as bad. And now its just completely flooded. Well, for me, this is the worst, though. Originally im from california. I moved to South Carolina and coming here seeing this, im used to not water. So this is totally different. Yeah, right. All right. And just to give you guys some perspective of how people have really about this storm, some folks they were preparing, doing the necessary things, but also thinking, oh, well be okay. Just, you know, in the past, things have kind of gone around us. Haley, i know youre talking about the Bubble Situation we had. I lived in shreveport, louisiana. They also had the barksdale bubble, i believe they thought the weather went around the spot. But in this case, this was breaking Storm Surge. And so this time we were not missed. You cant get past this if you are trying to get home across. This bridge, unfortunately, and its not just the flooding. We had some pretty Wind Gusts. So theres a lot of palm fronds like this right here that you can see that, you know, this was obviously a dead one. But theres a lot of that around town. And then you have the Power Outages. I cant tell if there are any in this immediate area. I mean, you can see The Street lights are on and The Bridge, but there are over 92,000 Power Outages just in Hillsborough County and 1. 2 Million across the state. So, i mean, a lot of people In The Dark tonight going into tomorrow. Unfortunate. Back to you. Brandi, have you seen any Response Efforts going on . I know its really late, but are Bucket Trucks maybe trying to come out or are you seeing people trying to remove some of the debris just in light of folks waking up tomorrow . And im also curious, yesterday you were showing, i believe it was a hospital and they had these like aqua, i think is what it was called. Youre not sure if you know how they fared in something like this. I thought it was a really interesting thing that that hospital ended up deploying. Yeah, well, starting off with the hospital, they posted to x an hour or two ago that their fence is actually held up. Its a pretty cool video because you can see thE Water on one side of the fence and theres a Man Standing on the other side just kind of testing it out, i guess. And so far It Sounds like its been working for them and it has in the past when it comes to the response. Well, right next to as you can see, theres a Police Vehicle. So theyre at least making sure people are not getting into this water. They havent anyone drive into it. AnD Even if we were to look down the road you can see there are more Police Cars stopping anyone coming into this area. But as far as rescues go, we havent heard of any reports, but i have seen posting to x that theres water in some of their homes. So there may be that scenario going on that we just havent seen reported just yet. So well have to wait for that to, i guess, come to light. But i would imagine that there may be a need at response. There are high water vehicles out and around because we did see them earlier and was about four or 5 hours ago at this point. So its just a matter of getting that information from the Police Department here. Well, brandy, for staying out there in the dangerous conditions and bringing us the live reports. Its been happening tonight. Well be checking back in with you. Thanks for. Sticking up with us for those impacts now expanding into georgia with 100 mile per hour Wind Gust recorded out of alma, georgia. Atlanta next on the list, over 2 Million people across the South And Southeast without power right now. Incredible. And you think about the amount of rain thats still to come. Georgia, portions of tennessee ,North Carolina, South Carolina have already been dealt round after round of rains, the ground pretty saturated. Any more that falls is going to be a problem. And then you tack on the winds. Those Power Outages are likely to go up. Weve got more than 2 Million now. I think thats going to jump up quickly and its going to take some time to get that back up because youve got to make sure the conditions are safe for the crews to go out there in the buckets. Plus, theyre going to be thinned out. When you think about how widespread this is, i mean, when theres 2 Million people that need to get power restored, i mean, even having thousands of Bucket Truck companies and people out, its still going to take time, i believe, with the dolly for the big Bend Region. Mike seidel said it took about 7 to 9 days to get the power restored, but were still watching. Still a hurricane at this point, 80 Miles Per Hour, just slowly getting closer to tropical status. But no matter how you slice it, were still tracking out hurricane winds right around that center approaching macon, georgia. Tropical storm winds now finally reaching atlanta, an area thats next to see the Power Outages. The Power Outages with Georgia Wasnt actually from the Atlanta Metro. Its from the southern towns and cities. Yeah. And then when youve got that many millions people in the metro, youre talking about a whole new story here. The winds continue to push onshore over portions of the Gulf Coast Side of florida. So we still have some of the Storm Surge, even though some of us are going through low tide, were still seeing that slowly down. It is pushing over into places like South Carolina as well. So watch for somE Water. An invasion across South Carolina on the backside of this, up into portions of the north, pensacola, 30 mile per hour winds, tampa, 40 mile per hour winds. Normally on a given day, if we didnt just go through helene, wed be like, wow, those are some pretty powerful gusts. They are coming down a little bit, but still, weve still got some gusty conditions deal with. Well, its really the scope of halloween in the 90th Percentile for how wide that winfield was. Tropical Storm ForceWind Gusts over 300 miles from that center. So this was right before landfall, extending all The Way out across florida peninsula. And thats why Storm Surge was not a big concern for areas like jacksonville anD Even a little bit farther towards the north, still bit of a concern, 1 to 3 feet of Storm Surge, i think probably on one Foot Range because we are going into the low tide cycles. But i think tampa two just goes to show no area is in a bubble where the impacts arent going to be felt. So thats what we need to take in for the rest of really today and into the weekend as well. Its something thats all coming to fruition as we were watching the forecast, walking you through this, having the conversations with you and this is this was the big concern. Look at that Flash Flood threat. It goes all The Way up to the blue ridge, portions of the great Smoky Mountains. Its a level four out of four. Please pay attention to this because you may get caught off. Guard, The Rains coming down. It all has to go down the hills. And weve had a lot of rain leading up to this event. So landslides are possible as well. Youve got to this closely. Atlanta, also the Metro Area under that Flash Flood alert as we go through today, all The Way back to the Big Bend of florida. All The Way into portions of North Carolina. Haley and a large majority of the event has taken place into the late evening, had landfall around 1110. Later on, were seeing the Power Outages, the Wind Gusts all coming at one, two, three, four in the morning when wake up in the morning, its going to be a very different scenario for a lot of folks. So Flooding Threat only expected to get worse throughout the day and out in valdosta, georgia. They took on the Eastern Eyewall. Things look a little calmer now and were still tracking widespread impacts with helene Fox Weather where youre Hurricane Hq will be tracking the catastrophic storm all night, the headlines, the events, the story. That was a massive Power Plant coming from. That was Fox BrothersIan Oliver when a massive flash went off. Some of the craziest Video Weve seen come out of, the Landfall Event that is halloween still tracking ongoing flood alerts, still widespread, including areas into still some outer rain bands, still going to be a threat for maybe some additional Storm Surge as well as freshwater flooding. And then the threat now positions towards the apalachee mountains and into the Blue Ridge Mountains, an where that orographic Flood Threat is going to be a big concern. Flood threat aside, we also are tracking out the potential for tornadoes. Weve had a few confirmed tornadoes already and unfortunately, it is believed at this point two people died in South Georgia from a tornado. It have been a severe storm that moved through, but it was some kind of severe and theyre thinking tornado at this point in time. 8 a. M. Eastern time is when the Tornado Watch expires. Thats areas in South Carolina and southern North Carolina, as well as. But we have a pretty high threat here. Thats a 10 chance, a level three out of five, if you will, a four areas in the immediate coastline. If you do have a Flash Flood warning coupled with a Tornado Warning, you want to use your best judgment. Is there active . If there is, you want to make sure you get away from that flooding. If theres a Tornado Warning issued, especially if it is confirmed, seek low and make sure that you are in the most Interior Room in your home. A spot like just about to move out towards the east of where this Eye Wall is moving into. Itll be a treacherous next few days. Weve got extended coverage into the weekend. Georgia is now starting to see some of the impacts from the massive Hurricane Helene. Still that category two just battering areas like valdosta, georgia. Fox multimedia reporter Caroline Elliott is out in valdosta caroline, your shot looks a little bit better and thats saying something as It Still looks pretty nasty out there. Tell me what youve been experience seeing, especially as you took on the outer eyewall not too long ago. Yeah, what we will tell you that conditions still arent great out here. The rain has slowed down a little bit in the last couple of minutes, but this wind is still an issue tonight. I will tell you, in the last minutes since we our last live shot, i should say, we did lose power. And this hotel, you can see that the area behind us is still a lot darker right now. So hotel without Power Havent had any lights on or any power in about the last 20 minutes here. And thats really the case right now for the entire area we just checked in with Loudoun County Emergency management. And right now in this county without power and the state of georgia around, 160,000 customers are without power. So this is certainly going to be an issue throughout the night. I will also say City Officials now are saying that theyre already seeing a lot of downed trees in this area. And that goes to say something because visibility is not great right now. So we really wont the extent of this damage until Sunrise Tomorrow or until we get power back on in this area. Well, valdosta, georgia is a somewhat larger town. Were talking about 55,000 people. But atlanta is next on helenes Hit List really . And thats just about half A Million people. Have you seen any Emergency Response efforts taking place right now . Have you heard of anything . And as you mentioned, know youre in the overnight hours and its hard to really be able to to tell exactly taken Place Damage wise until the daylight comes. Have you seen damage in your immediate area . Well, haley, Thats Something were definitely going to keep an eye on here in the next couple of hours and really throughout the night. But we do know there are several areas right now in georgia under a Tornado Watch and many other areas underneath a Wind Advisory as well. So we do expect, again, that conditions going to get worse. Conditions are going to keep moving north overnight. But again, that message to a lot of people is to not take this storm lightly and to really emphasize safety in this. Haley yeah, i think thats a really great point, too. I feel like in the precursor of this event, focused on florida, but atlanta, valdosta and the carolinas are certainly going to be feeling some massive effects. You went through it in terms of the outer eyewall. I mean, Heavy Rain, winds, it looks a little better. But again, i hesitate to even say a little bit because, its still not a nasty night for you out there. But Caroline Elliott, thanks for joining us tonight and sticking up late with us to cover your end of the storm. Weve got more video coming out of lamont, florida. This is live. This is whats going on down across floridas panhandle. This is just towards the east of tallahassee we keep coming back to this. Weve seen quite a bit of debris on the road, just vegetative debris, but enough to stop quite a few cars. Yeah. Take a look at as youre driving that are driving out there, debris down on the road, The Rain still coming down. I think a lot of these trees have lost a lot of their either limbs, portions of it. I worry when you think about this because we talked about crops also with all of the winds. Weve got the cotton almost and harvest in portions of georgia. Peanuts are big as well. Hey, what weve got going on, by The Way, are the Flooding Concerns over for the rivers . The rivers going to be rising . And not only that, but its going to take some time for the rivers to come back down. Yeah, weve got multiple inland locations set to experience major moderate flooding in addition to the Storm Surge, were still tracking out across the florida peninsula. Well be right back. In Fact Tornado and Flash Flood warnings are blanketing georgia, extending up through North Carolina. As we near sunrise, we will get the images of just how devastating the impact has been. Will break this is Fox Weather is continuing coverage of Hurricane Helene and we want to extend a special welcome to those throughout the overnight going through the landfall of helene. The Fox Weather stations and many are battling the storms as well. Good Morning Ed Herrera and we track helene a very powerful story. We appreciate friday because a lot of impact extending over several states. Watch Fox Weather on any Device And Stream it for free as well. We are breaking the stem because this is at this hour a very powerful storm moving over portions of George F that you feel the effects through florida up through carolina as the carolinas into tennessee as well. Lets get right to it where we sit right now, Post Landfall but Helene Category 1 hurricane through central portions of georgia. That is right, we are on land at this point. The video on the bottom left will seal over social media. The Howard Franklin BridgeTampa Bay area with waves crashing over it and folks trying to get over The Bridge, mild conditions the eastern side of the storm and drink the Tampa Bay area. It is a category 1 hurricane and parts of florida still dangerous. We have 911 services that actually rarely suspended in Law Enforcement crews trying to get out there to help folks out. Importantly, now the conditions in georgia going downhill. Going downhill quick in a number of cities affected by the center of the Storm Category 1 and wins 80 miles an hour. The Method Storm in intensive category made landfall and weakens over the land but that powerful maintaining energy. It is moving north northeast 30 miles an hour at a pretty good clip and outer Rain Dance extend several hundred miles from the center of the storm. As a result, we have had several Flash Flood warnings for a good chunk of the state of georgia anD Extends portions of the carolinas. We also see that a good part of the day plus Tornado Warnings popping up this morning. Yes go several out of charleston in three different areas that we are concerned about. Fulton county is being highlighted as well. These are thunderstorms that are screaming off of the atlantic and pushing inland into South Carolina. They are so easily spun up because of the dynamics at play. At the extreme Wind Shear located in the eastern half of the storm. It goes through Johns Island right now with some rotation so please find that same spot. Many of you will find yourself in a Situation Today that you are under Flash Flood warnings in Tornado Warning. Right now this is just Tornado Warning so prioritized that get to the lowest part of your home. The circulation is evident over Johns Island and you can tell the intersection red, green, showing winds twisting and turning going towards and away from the radar. Find that saves spot, the last couple of frames the rotation is tighter we will see if it pulls together because of to the northwest we want to be warned. Then we have two other areas and you can see multiple spots here, Rotation Right off shore. Situation in South Carolina is not going anywhere. A lot of thesE Water spots on land and that will be the Concern Today and We Saw that yesterday. This part of the storm well inland as well and quick spin ups a lot of time not much notification or time to get to your safe spot. If dealing with letting, assess the damage. Do i need to get higher ground or a outer portion of my home . Maybe. If you get a Tornado Warning go to the interior of your home even on the second level. Of course you need to stay out of the floodwaters. Prioritize the Center Part of your home because most structural integrity and you will be safest from debris finding the interior Closet Wreath and hallway. Enough is enough to protect your body. There are the winds look at savannah, bona fide tropical Storm Hone in 1640 gusting 76. You think about how widespread and bright shades of 60 mileperhour and not only the highlighted areas and some of the cities and towns all The Way to augustine 40 mileperhour winds to savannah as you mention but that shades of yellow showing how strong the winds are to the center of the storm at the tropical Storm Hone an well away from th. And they switch on the backside of that so you have strong winds over tennessee but that will increase through the date. Power outages will go throughout the day. Lets get you to the ground with team coverage. We are fanned out across the southeast with exclusive coverage you cant find anywhere else. We are dedicated and conditions to ask theory deteriorate across st. Peters but. The floodwaters in tampa. Several feet of water to stack their. Not living. Lets bring in Meteorologist And Michael the worst of the weather conditions behind us in tampa but the problem is the winds are still unsure. I can see the current behind you in the Storm Surge. ThE Water is stuck. Good morning to you both. You got it and nailed it on the Head Coach of the big take away from this storm, of Course Coach of the winds and the Storm Surge. And that is actually what you are seeing behind me tampa what is called swim avenue not too far displaced from the Gulf Of Mexico. It is about to give or take a block to about a block and a half of what you are seeing, waterlines. And i want to bring to your attention is the fact that we sell quite a bit of Storm Surge. In fact, old port Tampa Bay, that form surge was measured 6. 8 nearly 7 feet up Storm Surge. You remember my Measuring Tape from yesterday where we were showing 8foot Storm Surge was possible. So again, clearly within the bounds and the limits, by the Way Coach of the old Surge Record 1. 1 feet. So we surpassed that by good 2 feet and you can see the Water Line here. In the homes behind me, that would be for and roughs the back of the Envelope Calculation how much Storm Surge they had seen. Obviously, some to my gender way. I want to talk about the Fact Hauer has been in Nature And Florida 1. 3 million without power and we have over 240,000 people without power and where we are in tampa over 85,000 people without power, i should say customers. As we were driving here, you can tell who has the generators and who doesnt have the generators because you can gulp blocks where it is only one home where lights on and obviously they have power as of this point. So that is something we are continuing to track. Of Course Coach of The Rain when you look at the radar, little tiny bands and we picked up over 2. 3 inches of rain. That is official but the thing, Craig Ochoa that was as of 55 00 a. M. But still it is warm just sticky, to mid and cleanup effort certainly under way and you want to make sure especially in a home like this for you seen water damage. I want to show this to you guys before i leave. We may have video of Police Car trapped some of the Storm Surge that also needed to be rescued by high water emergency vehicle. So when first responders are trapped in thE Water, you know it is serious. Terrifying because those are the folks trying to do such important work. When you pointed out the Water Line behind you, michael, it had me take a deep breath because there is clearly water stuck but that shows how much water has actually left. ThE Waters out of Tampa Bay and new record 7 feet Storm Surge broke the record set a year ago over 4. 5. So my heart breaks for these folks because we have interviewed some people at this would now be the fourth time in her home was flooded in the last three years. So it is a really heartbreaking Situation And Michael thank you so much and be safe you and your crew because its still dark and we will get a look at the Structure And Michael lives in Tampa Bay this morning. A couple of live shots out of North Carolina, boone ends in savannah, geor georgia. Savannah, georgia, We Saw a wind in savannah. A live shot with the trees blowing around. A lot of rain coming down. 76 mileperhour costs in Savannah And Stephen cloud with information. Still right now along the coast especially strong winds and dealing with the threat for tornadoes, down trees and Power Outages as well. When we watch the next several days, they have a Long Way To Go. It is a storm that a great handle on before it formed and how massive it will be. These are the effects we are going through right now. Extend over a good part of georgia and look at tennessee. You have been slammed with rain a couple of days and now you will get moving through with helene interacting with another system and then stalls for a couple of da days. Just threw today alone Flash Flood warnings as well. That is going to be a concern over portions of the blue ridge and great smoky Mountains Review see deep shades of green. Flash Flood Emergency and is that paint . Stephen macleod to, meteorologist and whether command this morning breaking into our ear to give us the latest Information Flash leD Emergency. We had tag by the Weather Service but this is the Flash Flood warning from the lien. It is over haywood county, North Carolina and the wanting close at 10 15 a. M. That experiences with flash led this ends up in totality 1218 experience from the beginning to The End. This is a very serious situation because we are in higher elevated spots and the hills and the mountains North Carolina. That complicates scenario how much rain you get that also in terms of the response. We will have mudslides, landslides and hard for first responders to save men because Flash Flood that is reality of an aggressive warning only given when potential for loss of Life And Loss of property. So using our radar we can estimate how much we have seen in the area at the last four hours and again Flash Flood 46 Hour Rainfall Event and continues from that point because the brain wont stop. Looking over the county, we have easily seen 35 inches of rain but again, up in the mountains with freaky spots where part of the hill might have gotten 67 inches of rain and work its way down. Looking at the discussion, britta, you are looking at waynesville North Carolina, and waynesville smack in the middle of the map as well as below. That Ground Troop actual visual of that town on the bottom left. Which is located, stephen, just below Flash Flood warning in waynesville so they are probably in it. That camera is showing you a town in the Flash Flood we dont see Scanning Waterbed Account that doesnt doesnt mean other parts of the county are faring worse. Also reading numerous road closures and ongoing water rescues, flooded homes across wayward county and ongoing rainfall with swift moving streams in the area so the significant led threats increases between six and 10 inches of rain have already fallen with additional Heavy Rainfall eminent. That coming out of national Weather Service and spartanburg with Flash Flood emergency and they are not issued lightly. You dont see them often and talk about catastrophic damage to homes, properties, lives. You have to seek higher ground if in this area right now. Meteorologist on staff in The Rain living uphill into higher terrain that makes this considerably more dangerous situation. Meanwhile, we have our eyes on atlantic, helene ripping across georgia. Hurricane forest Wind Gust with tropical conditions across southern parts of the state. Eight live look into downtown with flood concerns. Effectuation Order And Hartsfieldjackson airport is already seeing major delays and cancellations. So we have thousands of people without power. We have parts of savannah concerned with Storm Surge. What it looks like with the wind. That is the eerie sound of the sirens. I mean, it is just so offputting, especially thinking about larger tan like savannah that you dont always hear sirens going off. Right, exactly you see the power flickering on and off. That is something to the South Southeast and you can see One Point of course, you hear sirens that is concerning. As you look at the river in and around the perimeter and the parameter is the big loop around georgia. One way to get around because so many interstates and so many people in so many people traveling. You think about this area, so hilly and never been to atlanta, North Georgia, a lot of hills and a lot of trees. Peachtree creek adult hannah, take a look at this. Right now jumping up 22. 9 with Flood Stage and we will see this throughout many creeks and rivers across the south eight due to The Rain. And those unfamiliar are Flash Flood warnings in effect and after The Rain stops, the flooding and the river creeks will be a problem for several days. We are expecting a crust on the 27th, which is later today. Looking at the level, we will crest 23 feet. That means we are falling between the bottom to cothresholds here. When we have flooding that exceeds 22 feet which anticipated to occur today, we have numerous evacuations are required not only for businesses but for homes. That is the Reality North of atlanta because Peach Creek is that folks will be asked to leave their houses and high water vehicles but it doesnt look like 24 but we are right there. We are within a foot of 24 feet and that would be massive flooding that gets recorded off at the Peach Creek. Meanwhile, this is a look for the winfield. Again winfield is not simply ask anticipated her case know that Kirk Can Gust in the mountains of North Carolina and South Carolina would be a concern because the biggest flood concern. Said to have those two facets for first responders will be tricky. There is a highlight for atlanta, again, winds dusting 40 miles an hour even approaching the Lunch Hour but The Rain will taper off midday. Unfortunately it will not turn off completely, which is what we need to. 140 mileperhour winds lasting florida as helene goes ashore appeared to look up that across the Road And Perry florida. And we have addingt to injury and checking waynesville, North Carolina, the highest peak 6,000 feet which it even estimate for the blue Ridge Mountain Pet blue ridge parkway, the highest peak 6400 feet so this is why it gets so scary anh bad, living this rain into areas elevated and it creates mudslides, landslides, it is sponread dark so response is prn much as bad as it gets but we dont have high Water Rescuester but Flash Flood emergencies are only called direct threat to Life And T property. So from the best estimation, the boots on the ground feel right now and waynesville, a scary situation. Many receivedlot 1011 inches of rain here justs becausnoe they will get more.
