[inaudible] there a lot of variance. >> a lot of different names. what do you expect for this week's presidential debate? >> i think this will be a good moment for joe biden. he is looking forward to this. he debated donald trump to times before the one both of those debates. they underestimated joe biden and he performed well at the state of the union. this is the beginning of the fourth quarter. he does not need to pull out trump the rest of the way but he needs to win the fourth quarter. the opening tapas the debate on thursday. >> former president out with the folks in philadelphia. the current president is at camp david hunkering down. what do you make of it and what do you expect on thursday night? >> both are choosing the debate prep style that best fits them. joe biden sitting down with advisors. doing prep at 9:00 p.m. do a 90 minute run-throughs to get himself acclimated to this later debate performance. donald trump is talking to the people, staying engaged. what people are underestimating in donald trump's debate prep is he is already testing lines. he will know what is getting picked up by the media during his speeches and what resonates with his base and other voters because he is out there making these big speeches. i expect some fireworks. i do expect both of them to yell over the mic at one point versus each other, but at the end of the day i think we see policy discipline debate at this debate from both men. >> the next few weeks taking the running mate for the former president. one person on the short list talking about it today. let's play it. >> with president trump right now, where he is with blacks and people under age 30 people with independence very strong across the board. he can pick someone that he focuses on, let's get something done. >> his emphasis is that former president -- what about that? >> you pick mike pence in 2016. problems with evangelicals. trump has problems. maybe having some opportunity with minority voters. he should pick a woman. the mature choice, i'm not sure he is mature enough to make that pick. some of the other names like jd vance getting him absolutely nothing. you have to try to solve a problem. >> what is your take on the trump deep stakes. >> i think at this point the top contenders will be at the debate for him. in atlanta. i understand jim's point here about having someone that can solve a problem, electorally, they are not many that are in these deep states that will solve an electoral problem. who can help him govern and for trump you will want someone that does not outshine him anyway and someone that can bring in dollars. it could be a doug berg him. more of a ceo type of background that could help govern that fashion to bring more donors to the base. >> expected announcement right before going to the convention? >> around convention time. you fundraiser off of that kind of news. that can only help bolster the dollar amount coming out. >> thank you so much. >> been poring over voting records. robust early turnout in this race for the democratic primary in new york 16th congressional district which covers part of a suburban county a part of the new york city borough of the bronx. as of yesterday, more than 21,000 people in the county had voted early. in many ways, this race is a test on the future role of israel and the democratic party. incumbent representative jamaal bowman has defendant thomas but double down on this calls for a cease-fire while rallying this weekend. he threw this accusation at his challenger. listen. >> putin supports genocide. >> this morning on cnn the governor said as the leader of the democratic party in the state, she is intentionally not weighing in on any of the primaries but she did say she stand strong appropriate on all sides. i will just put that out there. >> george latimer a new york county executive seen as a centrist, he has the strong backing of the pro-israel lobby. spending millions to support him latimer continues to point to other democrats of color. taken a similar position in terms of the israel hamas war. a campaign spokesperson actually provided this statement moments ago about the accusation. they said jamaal bowman decisive and dystonic attacks combined with his dog whistles are why voters are turning against him in droves. this is to be kind of irresponsible rhetoric driving the horrific rise in hate crimes that bowman should know better. senator bernie sanders who rallied with incumbent representative jamaal bowman this week and said this is about keeping billionaires from buying up elections. he also. to sort of want to amplify where he had bowman stand on the israel war. they both condemn but they also support a cease-fire. >> we will follow white honda civic. a fourth person is dead following a mass shooting at a grocery store in fordyce, arkansas on friday. they will charge the suspect with four counts of capital murder and there are additional charges pending. set to appear in court tomorrow. the philadelphia police officers fighting for his life after being shot during a traffic stop last night. the suspect now in custody after philadelphia police and everyone else are heartbroken over this brutally injured officer who has been with the philadelphia police for six and a half years. >> a husband, a father and a son that his partner and went to work to do a job that he has been doing for six and a half years. he did not expect that he would be in a fight for his life. >> police say that the suspect started shooting at the victim and his partner while trying to flee the traffic stop. after the victim spotted a holster in the car. three others were in the car and police say everyone is now in custody. dozens of officers and city leaders gathered outside of temple university hospital in philadelphia last night. emotions were extremely high as everyone was rallying around the officer. >> i guess people across the city of philadelphia to pray. for our officer. pray for the men and women here today that are out in the field knowing they will give their lives for this job. >> the shooting happened in kensington. that part of philly has a severe crime and drug problem. the police commissioner recently called kensington one of the most challenging places in philadelphia and america. we are of course monitoring any are in d.c., 10e temperature. 99 degrees in philadelphia. now, if we look at the next couple of days, we have this big dome of high pressure. we have a cold front coming. not a big one, look at this as we shift into tomorrow. it drops a little bit. 80 degrees in chicago. 83 degrees here in new york city unfortunately back across the middle of the country spots getting up close to 110 degrees. back up here by the hudson river , a lot of folks trying to get out despite the fact it is so ruler. i spoke with some folks, here's what they had to say. >> what are the rest of your plans. are you
