house prepares to vote on his father's impeachment inquiry. pete: alexandria hoff has the latest. >> reporter: a key point in the special counsel's charges is hunter biden could have paid his taxes but chose not to, instead spending millions on payments to women and adult entertainment. not something the president wanted to touch on. >> any comment on the indictment against your son? rachel: the president's son faces 17 years in prison for nine tax-related charges, three of those felonies. hunter biden dodged questions but prior to the latest charges being announced, hunter recorded a rare podcast interview with a musician where he claims republicans are out to get him to get to his dad. >> they are trying to, in their most illegitimate way, but rational way, they are trying to destroy a presidency. it is not about me. there most base way, what they are trying to do, is they are trying to kill me knowing that it will be a pain greater than my father could be able to handle. rachel: house republicans plan to vote on impeachment inquiry into the president but house oversight committee chair james comer says the tax charges have nothing to do with the biden family loans. >> this is one of many crimes hunter biden has committed. we believe if you look at the loans that jim biden and hunter biden had, there is over $13 million in loans and no trace of principal payments much less interest payments. at what point does a loan become income? rachel: hunter agreed to testify publicly next week but house republicans say he must agree to be privately deposed first. rachel: we were have senator ron johnson. he says many of these women are sex trafficked so we are going to ask ron johnson about that. some of the candidates running for president had some comments about the timing of these indictments. one was vivek ramaswamy. he said the timing of the hunter biden tax indictment is one more sign that the deep state is planning to sideline biden and pick a new puppet for 2024, you see this indictment as a fig leaf to claim the trump prosecutions aren't politically motivated. it kills two birds with one stone. we talked about this on my podcast and my husband says he does not believe that theory. he believes in order for hunter biden to be safe and it not go up to president biden, he has to stay in power and keep the protection of the agencies he has so far been able to maintain. that is one theory. these are two different theories. will: i would side with sean duffy rather than vivek ramaswamy but keep your finger on the pulse because the media certainly has president biden's back, they are bending over backwards to impress upon their audience this has nothing to do with president biden but the minute that cracks you will see it is the money for gavin newsom. the thing i'm more concerned about is what this indictment does to the real investigation, the real investigation is not how hunter biden spent his money. it is how hunter biden made his money and that is about the influence peddling schemes being investigated in congress and i am concerned he will invoke the fifth amendment and avoid that deposition that should be coming before congress. pete: i would have finished your sentence. that feels like the reason for this. on the surface it looks like justice and everyone is yelling about this is equal justice. underneath the surface it is what we've seen with our justice system which is you rig it to make it look like something else but he won't testify before congress which means they have a more difficult time connecting the dots, president biden keeps campaigning to protect the family racket and there is no mention in this indictment of all the suspicious activity reports internationally. one mention of him being a lobbyist, small mention of international business dealings but laser focused on not paying his taxes and the salacious details so as to avoid intentionally any connection, we know from inside reports that they wanted to ask questions and were not allowed to. rachel: at the border, governor katie hobbs says she's going to visit the border where there's a lot of traffic. look at this visual here. it has been lukeville arizona today, the most visual there, these are fairly military aged adult males from all over the world from africa and the middle east and today she is saying the federal government must act to solve the crisis caused by the provincial closure. a letter to president biden calling on him to reassign national guard members to assist in its reopening and reimburse the $500 million -- pete: the statement is garbage, i want two things. i want the national guard so we can reopen it, that means more facilitation and give us more money. there is no -- that's why the debate happened on capitol hill, ukraine funding and border security. everyone is talking past each other. nary a word is said by a democrat and a border state democrat, that means enforcement. rachel: she's trying to signal the alarms are going off, these images are scary and these people are moving forward, had video of them taken to the highway. these people are not going to be apprehended in any way and are moving to arizona cities so people are getting concerned so she signaled the signal is so insincere. she says need more money as if money is the problem. when you get more money, you process more. what the federal government is doing is laundering tax dollars through ngos. the ngos give these people $5000 credit cards, we facilitate through those ngos, flights across the country, laundering our
