big changes underway. ♪ ♪ ♪ >> neil: welcome, everyone, i am neil cavuto and thank you for joining us on this friday. >> the key point, david weiss is talking about hunter biden having plenty of money to pay taxes and he chose not to do that. and that does not matter to the federal government, it reads in part between 2016 and oct october 15, the defendant spent money on drugs, girlfriends, luxury hotels, rental properties and other items of a personal nature, everything but his taxes including atm withdrawals, 600,000 plus and on closing, 309,000 on tuition education, beauty products come at 237 and 236, miscellaneous retail purchases, and then 188,000 on adult entertainment, 42,000 plus on home improvement and 24,000 on entertainment and then 23,000 on sports and recreation. they say if his last name was anything other than joe biden, the charges would not have been brought. after five years of investigating, two years after hunter paid his taxes in full, they have piled on new charges when they agree just months ago to resolve this with a pair of misdemeanors. these are in addition to the charges in delaware. it appears that he is taking us on a journey. >> neil: the president has yet to say anything at this time on this. is that right? >> yes come in the press secretary gave some words, reiterating the past statements of the president loves his son, he continues to support him as he continues to rebuild his life. including any questions to the doj and the white house counsel office. this indictment does not accuse president joe biden of any wrongdoing but it could strengthen republican arguments of an impeachment inquiry income of the houses teeing up for a vote. financial crimes that could put them in prison for 17 years, his attorney says politics have fueled the new charges 3 what happened between june 20 and yesterday? >> i think the thing to remember is this could be the first of several other steps and the investigation isn't over and we see here many facts and charges that were in that original plea agreement, and something that the u.s. attorney pulled back from. what we do know is what is under investigation, what the irs whistleblower said should still be soft. what about hunter biden acting as a foreign agent. did he not report this for the ukraine, china, russia come other countries and then where did the money go and why was the money moved, shell companies, was there any money laundering there. and then there is an impeachment inquiry, did any abuse of power take place slowdown or impede the investigation into the financial problems here? >> just for the viewers at home, a money raising event, it does not look like we will be addressing these chargers. can you tell us what chance do they have. >> if you look at this 56 page indictment, it looks like the facts on the government side, and hunter biden was ready to plead guilty. it is embarrassing to see how much money he's laid out. hunter biden was spending things he can't mention on family television and not around christmas time. spending all this money when he could've paid the irs, showing us that it's not just simple mistakes. this is a guy that had millions of dollars, millions of dollars carrying it around. i don't even know how you carry millions of dollars around. but he has all the money and he's choosing not to pay the irs, he is engaging and tax evasion. people spend years in jail for doing what hunter biden did. >> you know, john. when it comes to these whistleblowers that were speaking, following in which they said the testimony was crucial, and it is devastating, but it is a complete indication of the whistleblowers. and remember some of the whistleblowers had to fight to get this investigation continued and they ultimately lost. and if it hadn't been for the judge there in the federal delaware co courtroom, the plea deal would've gone down and by extension they said that this changed history as a result we met the first part really getting filled in, which is what did hunter do with this, there could be a lot more money than what we are seeing in this indictment and the whistleblowers did not just point to what they saw in the indictment, but 20 million more that we think could be out there, 10 million more, we are being stopped by supervisors from pursuing them come about the other reasons that they are important as if they want to connect with what the house is going to vote on when it comes to the impeachment invest investigation, why were those irs investigators stopped, why was the u.s. attorney not bringing these charges when the house is making them look bad by bringing all the sub, that is where you get into the abuse of power that would be necessary for impeachment. >> quick information, is found guilty, what type of prison time are we looking at? yes, i am going to support her. she is very important, more importantly i think the american people need this kind of leadership, statesmanlike, elegant and when we think of where we have been in the last six or seven years, it is not good at all. >> i do like rhonda santos. the writing is on the wall. on the other hand i do like ron desantis, also nikki haley has been on the upswing. if joe biden is going to be the nominee, we have to beat him. what is going on with the country is absolute mayhem. >> you also have the chance to support the front runner, why not donald trump? >> i think that his time has come and gone. the last three months of his presidency did not speak well of him in my mind anyway. i admired what al gore did 2000 when they talked about fighting bush and court and they said the american people have had enough, they put the american people ahead. what he put them through was disgraceful. and i think frankly that, to me ruin his chances to succeed himself at some point. so i think what happened, all he had to say is please go home. you made your feelings known, go home. but he sat in a room and wash it for three hours and did nothing about it and america deserves better than that. >> asking you to be clear. ken langone has decided to throw support behind nikki haley. what was your reaction? >> she was grateful, appreciative, excited. not just with my involvement but that she's beginning to get significant traction. i've been to a few of the events and these guys know how to raise money and having them in her corner is no small feat and i do believe, you know, the other thing that she said when she came in to see me, did you know that she's flying commercial in her campaign right now? i was shocked and i was pleasantly surprised. just thinking of that, and i think she comes in second in iowa, which is a good chance, in my opinion. i think that she will have that with the rest of the candidates. >> well, ron desantis plans to win iowa outright. >> welcome that's my point if he doesn't win it and trump will win iowa, if ron desantis will come in second. >> he thinks he has a good shot at winning. >> welcome let me say that he would be a good president as well. we just have to have a winner, we need a winner badly. what has gone on in the country for the last eight years is disgraceful. it is pathetic. this thing yesterday, the indictment, just think of that, how we look as a nation, we are better than that, we deserve better than that. >> there have been some critical endorsements, she essentially ignored the criticism. that is what happens when other candidates who may have wanted the same support, and they don't get it. but they look like this like you have a candidate with corporate interest. instantly we have talked about this. >> it is sour grapes. don't forget that it is sour grapes. but thank god. i have an investment as a result of young brains in china and that is it and i had a great day today. eli lilly pays dividends 50%. how about that. >> neil: we had stronger than expected jobs report, the white house has weighed in on that, all the stuff with the economy. by election day the american people will see and feel it and they are off to the races and there's another four years in the white house. >> i think that we are going to have a serious recession at some point. we cannot conduct the affairs with where we are now and not have to pay the price at some point. we have stalled it come about when you look for an example at inflation and when you look at all of the issues that we are confronted with as a nation. we have to rebuild the military, it has been neglected. and they've all got to be replenished. the biggest problem is more than 77% of the federal budget is entitlement. what am i doing getting $3500 a month? we have to stop this living the way that we are living. it is going to take a strong leader. >> why not chris christie? >> i was early on a supporter of his and he is not the guy and this guy, i can't pronounce his name, he should have his mouth washed out with soap. >> if it doesn't go your way and it turns out that donald trump is the nominee, would you support him as the nominee? >> honest to god, i do not know. i hope to god i am not given that choice. because on the other side will be the democratic nominee? i think the reason that joe biden wants to stay in office as isthe influence over the justice department which would prove that he did have up until last june and don't forget that they were going to let him plead guilty and turn him into the misdemeanors. now you have this indictment that is loaded with all kinds of horrible happenings. what is wrong with america? >> mark: between joe biden and donald trump. who would you vote for? >> you know, i mean, i have complete confidence in elaine. >> neil: so you're not going to support donald trump? >> you know, i just hope that that's not my choice. i really hope so. look, america is tired. we have serious issues we have to address and the border problem is huge and the deficit is gigantic, defense spending and public education. it is a national disgrace and these are significant issues that we must address. so when was the last time you heard somebody talking about the deplorable condition of public education. that is how china is going to beat us. they are going to educate their kids better than they are educating our kids and it will be a game set match. and you know, i'm 88 years old, think i got a bunch of tests and good lord willing i'm told i will be around a long time but what are we leaving our children and grandchildren? >> you know, interestingly who may be voted for them in the past and wouldn't do so again, i have had conversations about being on the ballot against joe biden. and i do think that there is a very strong vote, may be they cancel each other out. i'm not sure how that goes. >> you could be very right about that, senator. so with democrats and republicans to provide more funding. you will want to tie it with more border security and it seems to be a perilous path. where does it stand right now? >> i think that the vote that we took on wednesday, we stood strong and said yes, we do support ukraine, israel, taiwan. all of these factors factor into what is going on in the southern border and now is the time to make those changes with security supplemental. interestingly when the president first came here, he had a broader portion of his request that tells you that he also thinks this is important. he's got to get to the table so that we can have substantive changes. so i think that now is the time these this, we have some leverage and we are going to use it. >> you know, we are talking about doing all of the above, something on border security and where the differences lie is whether you group them all together. is it vital to you and is it a debate decision. >> well, in my view i would like to see them tied together because i think if one drops out they possibly all drop out. for those of us that support ukraine, which i do. it is a strong border provision that would balance out the people that may be don't support it otherwise, and i do think that israel has a strong support as well and they had to go cohesively which is the direction we are going and i know that they say that they are doing something differently but we will see how this can get over the finish line and we will try to do it again next week, james is leadin
