trying to delay a vote which would have prevented a government shutdown. he should not only be charged for doing something illegally pulling a fire alarm but could have been responsible for preventing the government from staying open. those have repercussions, do they not? >> congressman bowman may be taking heat from republicans today but the fact of the matter is he is getting pry married by a democrat because of his position on israel. there will be a lot of resources put into that congressional race. today may not be a good day for congressman bowman but he will face the voters in a democratic primary and may ultimately see what voters think of his actions pulling the fire alarm. >> julie: kevin, a quick comeback on that and then i have to move on. >> listen, congressman bowman accepted blame for this issue, paid a $1 thousand fine. >> julie: he accepted blame because he got caught. >> congress is more interested in this trivial stuff whether it be george santos. >> julie: you think that's trivial. >> where we have a funding shutdown coming up in january and we're debating this rather than funding the government is very trivial before the american people. >> julie: it is trivial for somebody to pull a fire alarm in the midst of what was supposed to be extremely important vote on preventing a government shutdown. that's very childish and im mature and unprofessional. i have to move on, guys. i want to talk about last night's debate. so much to go into here. insults flying at the fourth and final debate before the iowa caucus. most of the jabs aimed at nikki haley. >> you have other candidates up here like nikki haley. she caves any time the left and media comes after her. >> you were bankrupt when you left the u.n. after you left the u.n. you became a military contractor and now a multi-millionaire. it adds up to the fact you are corrupt. >> you would be voted in the first 20 minutes as the most obnoxious blow hard in america. so shut up. he has insulted nikki haley's basic intelligence. not her positions, her basic intelligence. >> i love all the attention, fellows. we weren't bankrupt when i left the u.n. we're people of service. there is nothing to what he is saying. >> my issue with all three of my other colleagues on this debate stage. all three have been licking donald trump's boots for years for money and endorsements. >> julie: donald trump, by the way, skipped the debate. he did the prior contest as well, all three of them. he was a hot topic especially after this comment during his town hall with sean hannity, watch. >> under no circumstances you are promising america tonight you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody. >> except for day one we're closing the border and drilling, drilling, drilling. after that i'm not a dictator. >> julie: trump has a 40-point lead against the competition according to the latest poll. david, what did you think of the debate? i thought it got pretty nasty but i guess that's the way of debates these days. who do you think won and who lost? >> everything leads up to, julie, desantis has to win iowa. he has put all his cards there. he is putting his resources there. if he can't get a win out of iowa, it's hard to see where he does get his first win and for nikki haley, if she can't win her home state of south carolina, the third state that she was governor there, it is hard to see where she gets a victory. all of this focuses for desantis on iowa, south carolina on nikki haley, and we'll see what happens. the president trump has a big lead in both. if he wins the first three it is hard to see how anybody can defeat him. >> julie: when polling numbers go up that's usually the candidate that's more sought after in the debates as being the punching bag. ramaswamy used nikki haley as a punching bag. at some point it didn't have anything to do with him having trouble with women. i think he has trouble with having a conversation that doesn't seem so vindictive. it sounded angry to me. that for me as a voter is a turn-off. i don't know if he is trying to follow in another candidate's footsteps that preceded him. what did you think of the tactic he railed into everyone, not just haley but all the people on the stage but especially her. >> you are spot on. we saw that dynamic between nikki haley and vivek ramaswamy. nikki haley took the incoming well. she is the frontrunner behind donald trump now in the fourth debate and to david's point all eyes will be on iowa just in 40 days. ron desantis has put all his eggs in the iowa basket. donald trump is running 40 points ahead of the pack. i don't think much changes coming out of the debate. we'll see what happens in the 40 days. >> julie: i like when somebody goes to town like that and you don't justify it with a response. >> it was a great response. >> julie: i would have given the exact response. i appreciated that. president biden seeming to backtrack after telling donors this week he must run for re-election because democrats have to defeat trump. yesterday the president with this. watch. >> do you think there is any democrat who could beat donald trump other than you? you do believe that -- >> president biden: i'm not the only one. >> julie: he is so confident about a victory his campaign doesn't think he needs to debate his ultimate rival. >> campaign will take a look at the schedule and we can have the conversation. our focus is building out a campaign and infrastructure and republicans are in a divisive primary and our campaign is focusing on what we do to win an election next year. >> julie: the democrats have nobody else and why he has to run. as far as him dodging debates the way trump is he doesn't have the same poll numbers at trump. trump has the backing. i guess that's why he feels it is not necessary for him to go to the debates. let's not forget the type of candidate that joe biden was when he was running against trump. that is where sleepy joe came from. he didn't really seem to get out of his basement often and it sort of became like a joke. he can't afford to do that again if he has any shot in winning. >> president biden may think 50 democrats could beat donald trump. given polls right now he is not one of them. donald trump is beating president biden and the fact that president biden's approval rating is in the 20s i wouldn't want to debate him. americans have said they don't like his policy. >> i love when republicans keep underestimating president biden. this is a guy that won 8 million more votes for the incumbent president. he will do the same thing with donald trump come next november. >> julie: we'll wait and see. thank you for talking to us today. big backlash to biden's mandate to push electric vehicles onto americans. >> we don't need people to dictate to us what is a good car. the government is trying to mandate that. it means inferior vehicles in terms of range and convenience. in terms of reliability. >> julie: some democrats even joined republicans in voting to strike it down. plus live images from arizona and texas, biden's border crisis keeps shattering records. 12,000 encounters in just a single day, folks, the crisis reaching sanctuary cities and states. senator joni ernst wants answers why massachusetts hotels canceled rooms for military families traveling for the army/navy football game. the senator joins me next. with 32 years in the navy, i know personally what it means to be deployed and how much we want to put down roots when we come home. as a veteran, you've earned the right to apply for a va home purchase loan, with no down payment. with the newday va loan, you don't have to save up to move up. helping veterans buy a home of their own. that's what we do. from newday usa. welcome home. office he made a grave mistake by getting rid of the previous administration's policies. he threw open -- president biden did, threw open the door to the united states of america. now we have this humanitarian crisis at the border, with as you stated, over 12,000 people now per day entering the united states illegally. there is no way to process all of these people and, of course, we know that simply stating you want a job in the united states of america is not a reason for asylum. so again, we had some of those policies right in the previous administration. president joe biden needs to own issue even this weekend at america's game, which is the army/navy game. we know massachusetts has laws in place, one of which is the shelter -- the right to shelter law, which provides shelter for those that are refugees or illegal migrants coming into the united states. so what's happening now? all of those families that are attending this game on behalf of their mid shipman or cadets. passed a resolution to censure squad member jamal bowman for pulling a capitol building fire alarm back in september. it forced an evacuation of the building. it also created quite a chaos as congress rushed to head off a government shutdown. the new york democrat is now the 28th lawmaker ever censured in history. you are watching "the faulkner focus." i'm julie banderas in for harris today. it was caught on video and why he pled guilty. he got caught. bowman a former middle school principal said he was simply trying to open a door clearly marked as off limits. he pled guilty to a miss demeanor charge and paid a $1 thousand fine. the max fine. bowman continues to deny he was trying to delay the spending bill vote. jim jordan confident the censure motion would pass. >> i think it is in a more broader and how crazy things have gotten in the biden administration. an f.b.i. that says if you are catholic you're extremist and members of congress pulling a fire alarm to disrupt a vote on the house floor for goodness sake. >> julie: they voted and it passed. now he has been censured he joins fellow democrats adam schiff and rashida tlaib censured earlier this year. days after the house gave george santos the booth. it narrowed the gop slim majority. it it will shh ranch after kevin mccarthy resigned. more departures are looming with members saying that they are just simply fed up with all the chaos and these are all the names of people not seeking re-election. more than 40 lawmakers in total saying they aren't going to seek re-election. senior congressional correspondent chad pergram how the bowman drama is playing out. that was a quick one. he is censured. explain what censure our viewers. it is short of expulsion but a slap on the wrist. he still has his job. he doesn't get kicked out. >> that's right. he stood in the well of the house a couple of moments ago and faced mike johnson who announced he had been censured. that's it. they don't take you to the principal's office or handcuff you. just read before the house floor. now democrats say republicans are coming after bowman because the gop lacks an agenda. or major accomplishments. i apologized for his mistake as he rushed to make a vote on the house floor. listen. >> i immediately took responsibility and accountability for my actions and pled guilty immediately. the legal process on this matter has played out. in no way did i obstruct official proceedings. >> he said he went before the capitol police and a court of law. top democrat jim mcgovern called the censure stupid. republicans argue bowman made a big mistake and should face punishment. >> you have know what's profoundly stupid is an adult man who has been elected as a member of congress held to a high esteem pulling a fire alarm like a child. like a child. like throwing a tantrum. >> bill: democrats argue republicans are wasting time censuring members especially after the sen shares of adam shift and rashida tlaib. >> going after democrats repeatedly because you have nothing better to do. i volunteer, censure me next. censure me next. that's how worthless your censure effort is. >> we just got the vote total after this censure of jamal bowman. the vote 214 to 191 with five members voting present. julie. >> julie: thank you very much for staying on top of this for us as always, chad pergram. thank you. we have our power panel now. david avella and kevin walling. thank you so much for talking to us. first of all, i just want to read this comment from jim mcgovern, a democrat of massachusetts saying that this is a profoundly stupid resolution but here is his reason why. under republican control this chamber has become a place where trivial issues get debated passionately and goes on to say basically before june the house has censured members 24 times in history but basically republicans are using this as an excuse to try to delay votes, to try to block bills from getting passed. isn't that exactly what bowman was trying to do? trying to delay a vote which would have prevented a government shutdown. he should not only be charged for doing something illegally pulling a fire alarm but could have been responsible for preventing the government from staying open. those have repercussions, do they not? >> congressman bowman may be taking heat from republicans today but the fact of the matter is he is getting pry married by a democrat because of his position on israel. there will be a lot of resources put into that congressional race. today may not be a good day for congressman bowman but he will face the voters in a democratic primary and may ultimately see what voters think of his actions pulling the fire alarm. >> julie: kevin, a quick comeback on that and then i have to move on. >> listen, congressman bowman accepted blame for this issue, paid a $1 thousand fine. >> julie: he accepted blame because he got caught. >> congress is more interested in this trivial stuff whether it be george santos. >> julie: you think that's trivial. >> where we have a funding shutdown coming up in january and we're debating this rather than funding the government is very trivial before the american people. >> julie: it is trivial for somebody to pull a fire alarm in the midst of what was supposed to be extremely important vote on preventing a government shutdown. that's very childish and im mature and unprofessional. i have to move on, guys. i want to talk about last night's debate. so much to go into here. insults flying at the fourth and final debate before the iowa caucus. most of the jabs aimed at nikki haley. >> you have other candidates up here like nikki haley. she caves any time the left and media comes after her. >> you were bankrupt when you left the u.n. after you left the u.n. you became a military contractor and now a multi-millionaire. it adds up to the fact you are corrupt. >> you would be voted in the first 20 minutes as the most obnoxious blow hard in america. so shut up. he has insulted nikki haley's basic intelligence. not her positions, her basic intelligence. >> i love all the attention, fellows. we weren't bankrupt when i left the u.n. we're people of service. there is nothing to what he is saying. >> my issue with all three of my other colleagues on this debate stage. all three have been licking donald trump's boots for years for money and endorsements. >> julie: donald trump, by the way, skipped the debate. he did the prior contest as well, all three of them. he was a hot topic especially after this comment during his town hall with sean hannity, watch. >> under no circumstances you are promising america tonight you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody. >> except for day one we're closing the border and drilling, drilling, drilling. after that i'm not a dictator. >> julie: trump has a 40-point lead against the competition according to the latest poll. david, what did you think of the debate? i thought it got pretty nasty but i guess that's the way of debates these days. who do you think won and who lost? >> everything leads up to, julie, desantis has to win iowa. he has put all his cards there. he is putting his resources there. if he can't get a win out of iowa, it's hard to see where he does get his first win and for nikki haley, if she can't win her home state of south carolina, the third state that she was governor there, it is hard to see where she gets a victory. all of this focuses for desantis on iowa, south carolina on nikki haley, and we'll see what happens. the president trump has a big lead in both. if he wins the first three it is hard to see how anybody can defeat him. >> julie: when polling numbers go up that's usually the candidate that's more sought after in the debates as being the punching bag. ramaswamy used nikki haley as a punching bag. at some point it didn't have anything to do with him having trouble with women. i think he has trouble with having a conversation that doesn't seem so vindictive. it sounded angry to me. that for me as a voter is a turn-off. i don't know if he is trying to follow in another candidate's footsteps that preceded him. what did you think of the tactic he railed into everyone, not just haley but all the people on the stage but especially her. >> you are spot on. we saw that dynamic between nikki haley and vivek ramaswamy. nikki haley took the incoming well. she is the frontrunner behind donald trump now in the fourth debate and to david's point all eyes will be on iowa just in 40 days. ron desantis has put all his eggs in the iowa basket. donald trump is running 40 points ahead of the pack. i don't think much changes coming out of the debate. we'll see what happens in the 40 days. >> julie: i like when somebody goes to town like that and you don't justify it with a response. >> it was a great response. >> julie: i would have given the exact response. i appreciated that. president biden seeming to backtrack after telling donors this week he must run for re-election because democrats have to defeat trump. yesterday the president with this. watch. >> do you think there is any democrat who could beat donald trump other than you? you do believe that -- >> president biden: i'm not the only one. >> julie: he is so confident about a victory his campaign doesn't think he needs to debate his ultimate rival. >> campaign will take a look at the schedule and we can have the conversation. our focus is building out a campaign and infrastructure and republicans are in a divisive primary and our campaign is focusing on what we do to win an election next year. >> julie: the democrats have nobody else and why he has to run. as far as him dodging debates the way trump is he doesn't have the same poll numbers at trump. trump has the backing. i guess that's why he feels it is not necessary for him to go to the debates. let's not forget the type of candidate that joe biden was when he was running against trump. that is where sleepy joe came from. he didn't really seem to get out of his basement often and it sort of became like a joke. he can't afford to do that again if he has any shot in winning. >> president biden may think 50 democrats could beat donald trump. given polls right now he is not one of them. donald trump is beating president biden and the fact that president biden's approval rating is in the 20s i wouldn't want to debate him. americans have said they don't like his policy. >> i love when republicans keep underestimating president biden. this is a guy that won 8 million more votes for the incumbent president. he will do the same thing with donald trump come next november. >> julie: we'll wait and see. thank you for talking to us today. big backlash to biden's mandate to push electric vehicles onto americans. >> we don't need people to dictate to us what is a good car. the government is trying to mandate that. it means inferior vehicles in terms of range and convenience. in terms of reliability. >> julie: some democrats even joined republicans in voting to strike it down. plus live images from arizona and texas, biden's border crisis keeps shattering records. 12,000 encounters in just a single day, folks, the crisis reaching sanctuary cities and states. senator joni ernst wants answers why massachusetts hotels canceled rooms for military families traveling for the army/navy football game. the senator joins me next. with 32 years in the navy, i know personally what it means to be deployed and how much we want to put down roots when we come home. as a veteran, you've earned the right to apply for a va home purchase loan, with no down payment. with the newday va loan, you don't have to save up to move up. helping veterans buy a home of their own. that's what we do. from newday usa. welcome home. through the border wall and crossing here illegally. we have had a chance to talk to a lot of the guys out here. almost all of them said they aren't seeking asylum and here for opportunity for work in the united states or they want to link up with their family and they all have cities they are planning to go to here. take a listen. >> where in the united states do you want to go? >> detroit. >> california. >> new york city. >> new york. >> miami. >> omaha. >> miami. >> oklahoma. >> south carolina. >> back out here live you can see some of these guys here. ecuador. new york, new jersey, chicago. all right. you hear there a few blue cities right there. they are saying it's very cold and they don't have anything to cover their faces. a lot are asking us for food. all these migrants have different cities in the u.s. they would like to go to. we hear a lot of those sanctuary cities, new york city and chicago. send it back to you. >> julie: bill melugin, thank you very much. joni ernst of iowa members of the armed services committee and a u.s. army combat veteran joins me now. i want to talk to you about the issue first of all at the border, the migrant crossing obviously is surging to historic levels. 12,000 illegal immigrants crossing the border on tuesday alone. what does that tell you? >> well, it tells me that president joe biden on the first day that he came into office he made a grave mistake by getting rid of the previous administration's policies. he threw open -- president biden did, threw open the door to the united states of america. now we have this humanitarian crisis at the border, with as you stated, over 12,000 people now per day entering the united states illegally. there is no way to process all of these people and, of course, we know that simply stating you want a job in the united states of america is not a reason for asylum. so again, we had some of those policies right in the previous administration. president joe biden needs to own up to this, admit that he was wrong, and reinstate the policies of the past and allow us as senate republicans to proceed with our border policy changes. >> julie: there are majors cities struggling with a mass migrant influx. a new poll shows 85% of new york city voters are concerned about the city accommodating migrants. in massachusetts alone, hotels there have actually canceled bookings of veterans and their families for the army/navy football game being played in foxboro this weekend. those rooms are instead housing, you guessed it, migrants. senator, tell us about the letter you wrote this week to the biden administration demanding action. >> yes. the border policies that biden has in place, which allowed all of these migrants to come into the united states, has now created an issue even this weekend at america's game, which is the army/navy game. we know massachusetts has laws in place, one of which is the shelter -- the right to shelter law, which provides shelter for those that are refugees or illegal migrants coming into the united states. so what's happening now? all of those families that are attending this game on behalf of their mid shipman or cadets. veterans and active duty personal have had their hotel reservations canceled. why? because of illegal migrants being housed by the city and state in the hotels where reservations had previously been made. instead of watching in the comfort of a hotel room for this army/navy game we're housing illegals. >> julie: many of the states they want to travel to is democratic cities. free housing. former luxury hotels in new york city and handed over to the migrants. i have to move on to president biden's green agenda. it took a big hit last night. the house striking down his administration's mandate to speed up the transition to electric vehicles. so many americans don't want or can afford. not just republicans who voted against the e.v. push. five democrats crossed the aisle to vote down the regulations. one republican congressman with this. >> the issue here is people are not choosing e.v.s yet. they don't think they are affordable or attainable, they don't think they're reliable. it is not a reality for them. all we ask is people have choice and that choice may be e.v.s, but don't mandate it. >> julie: i love he said people need to have a choice. don't democrats echo that sentiment when it comes to women and many other things? you need to have choice but not when it comes to your vehicle. what in the heck? it makes no sense. most people can't afford an electric vehicle or finding somewhere to charge it. >> i am right there with you. i think it is absolutely ridiculous that this administration has been pushing electric vehicles on the american people. if you go to my home county of montgomery county in southwest, iowa. rural area. no e.v.s are not reliable. there is nowhere to charge them. you can't drive to a city without needing a charge and of course the cost is more than most families in my hometown make in a year. of course we're pushing back on the e.v. mandate and i'm glad to see house republicans take up the charge. i have been working literally -- no pun intended, i have been pushing back on this in the senate for a very long time. we don't need to source these cars that have materials that are built or brought in from china. these batteries that are made with child and slave labor. really, is this what we're trying to push on the american people? i think not. and the house has spoken. >> julie: senator, joni ernst, you have spoken as well. a new african-american studies course is stirring up some controversy. how lessons on kirkpatrick's national anthem has made the curriculum cut. critics are saying the college board is pushing a put in were very conservative. they were the opposite of what they said. the accounting fraud and fraud was only half of the judge and attorney general who took assets and made them numbers that were fraudulent as an example. mar-a-lago and doral and others where they cut the values to a level that nobody can even imagine. you look at doral and the numbers we're talking about for doral. the most obvious of all the fact that people know is when you value a place like mar-a-lago at $8 million when it's worth 08 to 100 times that amount. we had a witness the other day. the experts for luxury properties. mar-a-lago at over a billion dollars. and the judge valued it at $18 million. the attorney general is the one that convinced the judge to say that. it is a fraud. the whole case is a fraud. what they've done is weaponizeed justice. it is coming from the white house because i'm beating biden by a lot and this is coming right out of the white house. you know it, i know it, and they know it. just to end this, the expert witness one of the most highly respected people in the country for doing this kind of work absolutely no accounting fraud. this case should be ended. also, the judge as you know, was rebuked and he was overturned by the appellate division of the new york state supreme court, which is a higher court, much higher court than where we are right now. the judge refused to acknowledge it. this case would be over. that was about 90% of the case having to do with statute of limitations. this case should be over. this case should have never been brought. this was a political witch hunt by an attorney general who is out of control and trying to get elected governor and failed. but this is a political witch hunt and our country should be ashamed of what is going on. but we will probably go forward. i'm sure nothing will have any bearing on what this judge does. it's a very sad day for our country because people are coming in. we can say this every day and we are totally innocent. this is weaponization of justice. this is something that nobody has ever seen to this extent. it is called election interference. it's a sad day for our country that a thing like this can take place. i am sitting in a courthouse instead of being in iowa where i should be even though i'm leading by 40 points. thank you very much. >> julie: president donald trump headed back to court today as new york fraud trial here nears its end. he has been in court since october 2nd. and he is set to actually testify for a second time on monday next monday, december 11th. just now he was essentially touching on the expert witness that the defense called to the stand today. new york university accounting professor and he essentially said that he testified that there was no proof of any fraud whatsoever. no fraud conducted. this fraud trial, of course, has to do with the fact they allege, the prosecutor alleges, the d.a.'s office alleges the president at the time, donald trump, had inflated his commissions and inflated his salary and net worth and his income in order to get better rates on insurance and loans. but anyway, this continues but nearing the end anti-semitism seen after hamas's terror attacks of october 7th. >> one of the very unfortunate, tragic things we have seen since october 7th is a rise in anti-semitism here in the united states and state capitol due to the threat from pro-palestinians protestors who plan to disrupt the festivities. >> the whole thing is sad. >> will you guys be watching virtually tomorrow night? >> probably not. >> julie: festival organizers denied a rabbi's request to light the menorah in order not to take sides in the war. youngkin says it's anti-semitic and called on the organizers to reconsider. the
