is that since your? >> jessica: i think this is a tough one. you saw that even in the 22 democrats who did end up voting for it, that they said that this wasn't a clear-cut thing for them, that it was important, because of the way this particular censure was phrased versus last week there was one for marjorie taylor greene, where this was really about making a statement from the house of representatives that they condemn anti-semitism, and that is why they went for it, in the end. she obviously has a first amendment right to be saying whatever it is and to be posting whatever it is, and that is her jamie raskin, who is jewish, came down on this. i think ultimately i probably would have voted for it because i don't think that she did the work to show that she believes the things that she said in her speech. you know, we all make mistakes, right, we can say something that we don't know is offensive to a particular group. i think someone from palestine know is israelis and jews think about "from the river to the sea," but let's say she didn't their predicates explained to her every which way, from colleagues she is close with and works with come all over social media, every single newscast why wouldn't you then just say, "i apologize. i should take that down. i didn't mean that. the annihilation of israel is not my goal here." or that the video falsely claiming that israel blew up the hospital in gaza is still up and that is something that she continues to maintain. and so, ultimately, i think that is probably why i would have gone for it. but it felt like an alternative reality, listening to them, because you are watching this and then simultaneously, there is new footage of israeli tanks protecting innocent gazans, wearing the white flags, right, so they can be let out, thousands getting out, because the israelis are protecting them because hamas wants them to stay, right, wants them to continue living like that, dying like that. but yeah, that's what i am. >> greg: go. >> jeanine: when you think about it, what you are saying is so correct. you are obviously on top of what the facts are. the woman is a congresswoman. she has access to all kinds of classified information, all kinds of reports. she can be briefed on anything. and yet she continues to lead out the fact, oh, 500 palestinians were killed because israel is bombing a hospital. if she really cared about the palestinians, which she is trying to convince everybody that she cares about, why wouldn't she go after hamas and the hamas organization that is not allowing them to leave, or at least move to the southern part of gaza, or those billionaires that you talked about in the open, the three of them worth $3 billion each and more, who are living a life of luxury while the gazans -- or the palestinians are unable to access food, some of them. no one doesn't feel sorry for the palestinians. what the problem is is hamas. and when she says "from the river to the sea," that is the hamas mantra. it has been the mantra from the plo, they talked about it, everybody knows what it means, and for a woman to say she doesn't know what it means or she didn't mean it, oh, you know, i am really a great person and the rise of the israeli children are the same to me as the palestinian children, no, they are not. when hillary vaughn ask you about what you think of the israeli children? she didn't answer, but she cries when she talks about the palestinians, which is fine. she is trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes and she should have been censured, but i think at the end what is going to happen is all of the squad, apparently, is being primary to now, and i think the voters will decide whether or not they even stay in congress. >> greg: dana, do you think those precious little protesters are aware that the folks behind the so-called freedom fighters are billionaires living it up in splendor while palestinians are encouraged to kill and die for them? >> dana: i don't know if they know but if anybody could tell them about that it could be rashida tlaib. she has their ear and could do a lot of good on behalf of the palestinian people. instead, she complains about every other rich person except for these guys. i do appreciate that 22 democrats voted on the censure but i do feel that the story actually may be should be 188 democrats voted with her. 188. i understand there were some people who were saying we should not get into the censure back and forth, it's a waste of time, let's stop doing that. ilhan omar in defending rashida tlaib said you are criticizing free speech. she is free to say whatever she wants but censure is free speech, as well. it is making a point. that is something there. last thing i would say is karine jean-pierre when asked about tlaib's call for genocide against israel, basically, said it is important to be mindful about the language we use, and i'm pretty sure that is what emma says to jesse jr. in the morning, right? she is a congresswoman. >> greg: do we have that piece of tape? let's play that. >> i am not going to speak to the actions that congress takes. when it comes to the phrase that was used, "from the river to the sea," it is divisive. it is hurtful. tim -- many find it hurtful. also, many find it anti-semitic. and so obviously we categorically reject applying the term to this conflict. >> greg: hmm. >> dana: if you have a chance, listen to the briefing remarks from white house spokesperson john kirby, superstrong and pushing back against some of the arab media that is in the briefing room, pushing him to basically disavow what he has been saying or the administration's position is and pushes back strongly. >> greg: jesse, you see the continuing protests and this unhinged behavior even in d.c., i am wondering if "from the river to the sea" means the hudson river to the pacific ocean. >> jesse: i did not even know what "river to the sea" and meant and i don't even think the binder knew until 24 hours ago. i am learning a lot over the last couple of days about the israeli-palestinian conflict, and i think everybody is. i have to say this censure thing is a waste of time. get to work, congress. don't they have five more days before they have to pass a spending bill to shut the government down again and they are spending all day grandstanding about something this woman said? >> dana: lots of things. beshear, kentucky, for example, young governor, pretty popular, had a pretty good approval rating. abortion was an issue early on and i think daniel cameron, who is a great candidate, attorney general of kentucky, he had trump's backing, a state trump won by 35 points or something like that, but incumbents are hard to beat, abortion is an issue that is hard to beat, get out the vote is difficult. you mentioned the commercial break about fundraising, i don't know the details in terms of how much was spent in kentucky versus others, but overall yesterday republicans were outspent by a lot. one of the things that is happening is small dollar donors are really strong on the democratic party. basically they have this -- it's called "act blue," and it's like throwing seeds into a field with lots of fertilizer that you saw out in california and all of a sudden oh, yeah, everybody start sending your money in peer up on the republican side of things, the g.o.p. primary is taking a lot f small dollar donations, president trump's pac, a lot of these campaigns did not have enough and republicans are getting swamped by planned parenthood, not only the money that planned parenthood has come up with the is superb. that is one of the things that happened. the other thing that happened is ohio the abortion men meant the of that amendment was so horrible. i don't know how it was allowed. if you try to diagram it, a mad sentence. also not enough engagement on the republican side. you cannot wait to engage, your position on abortion, however you are going to message it, however you're going to talk about it, talking about it is very important. that is an issue -- i want talk the whole time here, i will move on, but i want to mention this. the democrats are trying to get abortion referendums on several different states that would matter greatly in the 2024 general election. that includes nevada, for example, florida, where you would have to get a 60% turnout, or approval, in order for it to pass. what kind of a turnout motivator is that for democrats? also, pay attention to the young vote. they are organized. we saw this in wisconsin. when they did that special supreme court election that was also about abortion. 88% turnout rate in the county where the school, the main campuses are. in wisconsin. what do you think that is going to look like in florida? or in nevada? or if they get one in georgia? it's a serious problem that republicans need to wrestle with. i do think glenn youngkin and virginia, i thought his messaging on abortion was the best i had seen. on abortion, for his position, i think he worked his butt off. in some places republicans are able to win but they came up short. for somebody like beshear, who will probably run in 2028, i am pretty sure he doesn't want biden-beshear as his scholars, right, he will want to be beshear on his own, independente was trying to say on monday peed >> jesse: abortion and cash, jessica, is that the story of last night? >> jessica: and pot. >> jesse: and pot. >> jessica: don't forget about our marijuana. no, that is not the only story. the main headline is democrats continue to over perform in the biden era. you can't dispute it. the blowing the pulling out of the water. republicans haven't really had a good showing since trump won in 2015, and they really -- i know there are a lot of them, deeply conservative people, that are coming around to the idea that donald trump loses himself in elections, and he loses the people that he endorses elections peered >> jesse: the house in 2000, right? >> jeanine: '20. >> jessica: remember -- no, it was 2022. that was your red wave, when you said "i'm getting a 40-seat wave," then you got the receipt at a george santos. >> jesse: don't remind me. [laughter] >> jessica: anyway, dana is right. the wording on the amendment in ohio was funky but people understood what it meant. forget often and i think it should be more of a line of conversation about this, roe versus was originally about privacy, it was a privacy decision, it was not about abortion, nowhere listed, which is why ruth bader ginsburg herself said she didn't think it will hold up forever because it is not about abortion. that is how they managed to get, 7-2 ruling with conservatives siding with the liberals because the point is that a decision as important as to whether you are going to carry a pregnancy to term or not is between you and your doctor. and that is what they ran on in ohio and talked about constantly. that is how they got kansas. that is how they got kentucky, michigan, et cetera. and the g.o.p. will not get out of their own way on this. they have found no avenue to talk about this like civilized people. 58% think the g.o.p. is too extreme on this, and then you have new speaker mike johnson, sponsor of no less than three bills that would make us have a national abortion ban. andy beshear was successful because he is a really good governor. also, how he managed the floods in kentucky was one of the main things that people supported him for. but his most effective ad was a young girl who was 12 years old when her stepfather impregnated her. she is just looking to the camera. she never mentions the word abortion. it is about freedom. it is about choice. and in the ohio bill, it is a heartbeat bill and it has no rape exception. on what planet do you think people are going to go for this? this is women and men, not just women. 20% of trump voters in ohio voted to make sure abortion is legal. glenn youngkin -- i understand, dana, you are saying his messaging was better than others on this. bands turn people off. you cannot talk abortion come about abortion, each pregnancy is so distinct and so difficult, you have pregnancies that are w. a majority of women who have abortions or people who have had kids before. it is part of family planning. you look at that girl, 12 years old, 10-year-old in ohio, indiana, to health care, and republicans will continue to lose on this. >> jesse: judge jeanine? >> jeanine: i look at it a little simpler. to me, it was about ohio, kentucky, virginia, penns pennsylvania. purple states, two red states, democrats winning. and the issue of abortion is one that republicans either have to get straight on, or they are going to lose on it. and the way they lose -- they can't ignore it. they can't make believe it's not there. so the question is, how do you handle it? well, it's not really how the republicans handle it because right now, they don't have 60 votes in the senate, so stop trying to pass a federal legislation. it's not going to happen. you are creating unnecessary turmoil for republican candidates down the ticket. the truth is that when beshear went out there -- i prosecuted those cases with the 12-year-old girls and the 10-year-old girls. kamran, who was a great ag, supported not just by trump, supported by mcconnell, he tried to change, go a little more left, it did not matter. women want freedom, and what is going to happen is, dozens of states are literally going to put these abortion initiatives, i don't care what you call it, privacy, i don't care, they know what they are reading, and they are going to win on that. and republicans have to understand, this is not an issue they win on. this happened in 2022. it's 2023. and 2024 is right around the corner. and so, all you have to do is throw out that word for democrats, they want to defend it, and it motivates them. and it only helps the democrats. and as for joe biden saying, you know, the evidence, i am strong, beshear said it best. biden had nothing to do with my race. >> jesse: greg? >> greg: i will say, democrats are very lucky that they are running against a party with principles. because when you have principles, you are less likely to compromise in exchange for power, right? sure, republicans can win and you will get lower taxes and a stronger economy and more security analyst crime, but that means you are going to give than on abortion, i prefer to lose on principle. i think a lot of people feel that way. usually it is the opposite for dems. power trumps principle. it is why they were okay with soros funding d.a.s that destroyed our's cities. the country suffers but they won those seats. in favor of censorship. is why they don't mind -- may be long term it will help them with votes. more voters. this is how the chips fall when you vote regarding abortion. if this is how it happens, fine. you can now discuss it as an act and not a right. it's no longer a constitutional right, so you can have one, and you can live with it. we can still talk about it. it is a loss, a denial of transformational change, it is a decision for most people. i am not talking about specifics, but for most people, done out of fear. but we no longer have to pretend it is anything more than that. we don't have to have political discussions about rights. abortion is based on a fear that is greater than the actual reality. and if you don't believe me, talk to somebody who had a baby and then think about how they were before they had the baby. that's called a transformational change, right, the woman becomes a different woman then she was before when abortion was an option. and that drives the fear. once you see that, you can't unsee it. it is the best antiabortion argument out there and no one is making it. people do have their reasons for abortions. you mentioned a very, very tragic and ugly one. but people make decisions out of their careers are may be their relationship, the person they are dating isn't the person they want to marry. but underneath all of that is a fear of this transformational change and if you admit that that might actually move you to may be a different standard than you have now. >> jesse: okay. coming up next. chicago's liberal mayor shutting down furious residents, demanding and end to the city's sanctuary city status. ♪ ♪ >> tech: cracked windshield on your new car? >> dana, what i can say is the u.s. military sources tell us the u.s. military has carried out air strikes in eastern syria. would have been against houthi, but iranian-backed proxies firing rockets and drones on u.s. bases. 41 attack on u.s. troops and bases since october 17th. we are getting more details now but these air strikes were carried out, we are told, just moments ago, they are getting the bomb damage assessment. we don't know how many locations, but it is based on the last pair of air strikes on october 26th. the u.s. would likely be targeting unmanned warehouses, storage facilities. the question is how many of those iranian-backed proxy bases will they have targeted tonight? while they have used ff 16 -- we reported an hour or two, mq-9 reaper shot down over the red sea by houthi forces in yemen. so far we do not have any word of any retaliatory strike by the u.s. military at this time but this is new and breaking as we speak, dana, based on senior u.s. military sources. >> dana: jennifer, why now? >> why now? i think they have been watching. there is a very dangerous matrix of events that are happening right now. the deterrence, that pair of air strikes was not enough to stop these iranian-proxies, but as we speak, cia director bill burns is in qatar trying to negotiate the release of american hostages in gaza. those are delicate talks being headed up by qatar, so carrying out air strikes right now, it is a very delicate time, so i think there are a number of considerations the biden administration has said they do not want to spread the conflict, but they are also very clear that the iranians and their proxy forces don't seem to be getting the message. many of these rockets and drones are falling short of the bases, but in the first two days after october 17th, there were 42 americans who were injured with concussions, some tbi, brain injuries, two of them had to be sent to land stool. nobody has been killed yet by these attacks but it is only a matter of time. there is a great deal of concern at u.s. central command that if they do not regain some sort of deterrence and iran does not get the message that proxy forces need to stop these attacks, so that is why it is happening now. i think there were a number of reasons that they waited until this week, but we will see. we will see if iran gets the message. >> dana: judge jeanine has a question for you. >> jeanine: hi, jennifer. they are not just relying on the missile defense systems now. we are actually carrying out air strikes in syria? "it does not believe that america is a good country, at least no better than china or iran. it calls itself progressive but it does not believe in progress. is explicitly antigrowth, claims to promote equity but its answer to the challenge of teaching math or reading to disadvantaged children is to eliminate math and reading tests. it demonizes hard work, merit, family, and the dignity of the individual." greg, i want to come to you first about this and say, i do think, and barry weiss has obviously gone through quite a transformation from her uber liberal days to where she is now. i do think this argument that society to its detriment has been set up now as just a battle between the oppressor and the oppressed is having more residents with more people, especially in the light of what is going on in israel. >> greg: it's a delusion. it's a brainwashed. it can be applied anywhere and basically argues against any kind of achievement because you are constantly blaming anybody who was successful, as if they took it from you. dei pretends to be an earnest effort, right, but it really was just a corporate play to counter accusations of greed, like for every $25 million bonus a ceo gets, he starts another equity effort. but it ends up hurting the bottom line. if you are a shareholder, you can't abide by a company that puts, you know, profit draining over profit-making. you look at bud light, you look at disney, victoria secrets, they only want who make money, nobody else does. you have to understand equity is the opposite of equality, it picks losers and winners independent of skill, achievement, or experience. it is a quality from above, which means coercion. you have to get everybody down to do the same so the standards are lower because individuals are individuals. they have different skills and sets, that is why you have equality of opportunity. equity is the opposite. >> jessica: dana, do you think we will see a shift back to talking about equality versus equity now? >> dana: anything bari weiss writes, i will read. i think she is an amazing voice of our generation. but i point you also to come i think it won't matter because some of the stuff is getting taken to court and they are winning. in "the wall street journal" today i just remembered this, there was an editorial about tennessee's ratio podiatry rule. basically, it was a group called "do no harm" and they are dedicated to illuminating racial discrimination in health care and there are two board seats that come up, but basically said, only people that meet the racial mandates can be doctors on this board, which doesn't make any sense. >> greg: that's no easy "fe "feet." [laughter] >> dana: "do no harm" is filing lawsuits to make sure that is not right, that is not constitutional. i do think it will change partly because of all of the things that greg just said, but also because the courts are starting to get involved and groups like do no harm or string to win these lawsuits, or even before you have to bring a lawsuit, if do no harm calls you, you tend to back off. >> jessica: companies are limiting these roles. there's no mic there was this huge surge after george floyd was murdered in 2020 and that all of these pieces saying they are quietly taking down the dei. >> jesse: good for shareholders because it was sucking a lot of cash out of these companies. you can't have perfect representation. you can't have equal outcomes. it's impossible. just because things are the way they are, jessica, does not mean someone is being discriminated against. thomas sowell right social justice policies, sports and entertainment, jessica, overrepresented by the irish, blocks, and southern whites, doesn't mean there is discrimination. wine producers and shafts overrepresented by the french and the italians. doesn't mean the english are discriminated against. whiskey and beer industries overrepresented by the scottish and the germans. you don't find as many successful jewish people in the steeler automotive industry, but you find successful jewish people in retail and finance. how about this one? >> jessica: doctors, lawyers, we do it all. >> jesse: you do, not steel and automotive's. from 2010 to 2017, all of the supreme court justices were either catholic or jewish. in a country where it is almost pretty overwhelmingly protestant, does that mean the protestants were being discriminated against? no, you look at silicon valley, all of these people say it is overwhelmingly male, that is because 70% of the computer science phds are going to men. it is just a different pool of people. everybody is different, come from different climates, geographies, experiences, and their specialization that takes place over a period of time and this is what the result is. doesn't make it discriminatory. >> greg: you are saying women aren't better at that than men are? in the world of silicon valley? >> jesse: are you saying, as you did yesterday, women are only better. >> jessica: it is clear there are systemic challenges in society to certain groups. do we risk over correcting and ignoring those challenges? >> jeanine: do we risk over over correcting? throwing the baby out with the bathwater. it is anti-american. it has gotten to the point where we are canceling people out, who are good people, who are working hard, who are involved in truth, hard facts, and reality. and we are trying to change the culture to make people happy who for whatever reason think that they don't have the right to do x wire as he. this is a country where the law supports you. you don't need dei to go into every company, every hospital, every school, to make sure everybody gets the same outcome. because i don't want somebody flying the airplane that i am flying on who is there because of equity and inclusion and diversity. i want the smartest guy from the class. >> greg: guy?
