My friends and i are just trying to spread love and peace and support each other during these times and we had a rally last week on campus and there were students and professors screaming at us the whole time . As for that southern crossing, we know the israelis have warned civilians to head south in gaza ahead of this pending Ground Operation. That crossing, the rafah crossing between gaza and egypt has remained closed. We know there have been efforts Behind The Scenes to try to get it open and allow foreign citizens, palestinian americans, people in gaza visiting family, aid workers to get out. And so far there has been a leverage issue here. The palestinians and hamas are demanding that aid be allowed in. Some of their allies in the region and some of the immediate yarts in the past, including the egyptians they want aid to enter the gaza strip in exchange for this crossing to be open for foreigners, as of right now, the israelis say there is no ceasefire in the southern part of gaza. We understand they continue to strike targets in this area. And even as recently as last night we know that the intelligence head for the southern part of the entire gaza strip, an official from hamas was killed in an israeli airstrike.
