>> i don't think this is a losing issue for democrats. i think parents, if they want their children to learn certain things based on relibs views, should send their kids to a religious school. they have a the that right, and they absolutely should. i think we need to start focusing more on letting teachers and educators set an agenda as they've done for hundreds of years in this country and teach the our students and get politics out of our schools. we've let politics get into every aspect of our lives. it doesn't have to be in our schools. kids should get taught compassion, equity, equality and understanding. they should also be taught reading, writing and arithmetic. it's a shame that in arkansas we've decided that african-american history can't be taught, but european-american history can be. brief griff right. >> we need to get politics out of this. go back to teachers and educators actually taught and parents worked with them the, didn't protest them. if these parents are so upset e, send your kid to a religious school. you have that option. there are millions of them around the country. griff: but, and i understand your point, jonathan. you're saying if they have these religious beliefs, send them to a religious school. but here's the reality, and, chris, i'll let you take it up from here, but these parents tell me that they can't afford to do that. they don't have a choice and the school board doesn't want to work with them. they have been for months trying to petition them to get their views heard in this opt policy which was in place last year removed because so many people were opting out, apparently. chris, i'll let you take it. >> look, we live in a country where parents should be able to have confidence in their public institutions including public schools and that sending their kids there won't conflict with their first amendment and religious freedom rights. i don't think that it's -- it's not ale listic to expect parents to just send their kids to religious schools for the reasons that you mentioned, but i agree fully we should be taking politics out of the classroom and having all this lgbt stuff this there and putting parents on edge is really not the way we should be doing this. and we should, in fact, be taking politics out of that and that includes allowing for their religious are freedom to be respected. griff: jonathan, let me put up one of our fox news latest polls about public schools and what they teach on. you mentioned the fundamentals. when it comes to reading and writing, you know, obviously 54% say it's too late. good citizenship, 70% said too too little. but when it came to sexual orientation and gender, registered voters, 48, nearly half, said that the public schools are teaching too much, and many critics say that it's the politics of the teachers unions that are driving this overfocus on these gender issues. what do you say? >> i say that i think a lot of this is overblown. and when you actually talk to teachers about what they're teaching, one of this comes up. it's the same debate we had with crt. it doesn't actually get taught in elementary schools. it doesn't get taught in high schools. it's a graduate school program for college kids. but we made a huge issue about that, and then it turned out to be absolute nonsense that was taught by, like, 1% of the teachers. when you actually talk to the teachers about what they're teaching, none of this comes up. but when you have people infacilitating it and making it a -- inflating it and making it a big issue, this is why people think it's actually happening. it's not actually happening. if you sat in an elementary school classroom, you would not hear lgbt issues being discussed at all. griff: well, i've got to stop you there not to knock you down, but these books in the montgomery county case, these books like pride if puppy and some other ones that the parents oppose to starts at kindergarten and up. so it is in elementary -- >> it's a symbol of -- griff: and parents are saying that the children, they oppose it. one mom poses it because they're simply too young to understand it. i want to go to chris because jonathan points out about people, you know, criticizing it. republicans are the the loudest. but here's what i want to know, chris, why is it that that one of the republican candidates on that stage or former president trump hasn't put out some sort of bill of rights for parents in schools? hasn't really laid out a vision other than saying yeah, i'll just do the youngkin playbook? let's see some concrete solutions and ideas of how to deal with this. >> look, the first thing i'll say is i absolutely think that this is a big issue. i think it's, frankly, con condescending to the concerns of parents to say this is overblown or that the things they are seeing firsthand their children are being taught every day with explicit material is somehow being overblown. i don't think that's true. i don't think it reflects the concerns of parents. and i agree with you, griff, i think that republicans do have a a duty to come up with some kind of in-depth policy solution to this because, honestly, republicans are talking the language of parents, they want kids to be taught primarily by parents, and they want politics out of the classroom, and they should be coming up with solutions that reflect that position that meet parents where they are in their concern cans. griff: jonathan, i've only got, like, 15 seconds, but i want to give you the last word. >> i'm not worried about a book called pride puppy damaging any kids' brains as they grow up, and i think more kids need to learn how to read and write, and we should be focused on that and get more of that into the classrooms. griff: all right, jonathan, chris, thanks for the deep dive. i personally believe that this is probably going to be an issue on the campaign trail. we'll see as we move forward in the election, a year and a half away. thanks, guys. aishah? wag her is also operating in africa -- wagner. and i don't think that wagner will just suddenly disappear. putin needs wagner because he needs mercenaries so he can claim all this possibility. and that's why he needs wagner whether it's going to have the same name in the future orbit, it's yet to be -- or not, it's yet to be seen. things in belarus are very, very interesting to watch because lukashenko, president of belarus, he was the one who offered basically an asylum to prigozhin which also shows his weakness and his not being with a credible partner and not being someone that can be trusted just like putin. we cannot trust people like putin and lukashenko. we already saw certaining wagner places in belarus already disappearing, and we shall see what will happen because already poland and the baltic states are very concern about the border. but nevertheless, i do believe still that the wagner group will operate, will still operate in places such as africa definitely because it's a very lucrative job for them. aishah: okay. but in terms of ukraine and this war that is ongoing, can this death which was literally caught on video, can it be used to reinvigorate the russian
