giving you the outcomes you want, this is a symptom of that. he said young people have a different attitude towards our institutions, we are eroding respect for institutions and this does not bode well for a free society. pete: we talked on "fox and friends" and we use the word outcome, that was the word used by justice thomas, the left seems to be religiously devoted to an outcome whatever the outcome may be, whatever the current thing may be and the outcome is free and easy access to abortion. what the left does along the way to accomplishing their outcome is to praise the process when it helps their outcome. they scream democracy when they think democracy helps them accomplish their outcome but here we have an issue that is being sent back to democracy for the people to vote on and all of a sudden what we see the left diverting to is the mob and street justice in order to influence our republicans, i use that with a small are, the united states is a republic, not a democracy, they use that to influence independents. >> he is saying we will not bend to that, we will not cower, this was an event in atlanta, judicial conference he spoke at yesterday so he is out and about with more security at this point but it is only going to get worse, the reports are protests at catholic churches, catholic mass tomorrow across the country, we will see how substantial they are but it is intimidation across the board. rachel: i announced maybe we should go to st. patrick's cathedral and then i thought about it, should i go to st. patrick's cathedral, how many people across the country are thinking -- -- how many people are thinking about not going to a specific church, they live in a liberal town and think that is going to happen at their church how many people are not going to exercise their right to assemble and enter church because they don't want to be confronted? >> don't know, that combined with the addresses of the justices i think it will backfire, i hope it does, look at thomas, alito, brett kavanaugh, what they've gone through, how much they have been intimidated, this is the type of opinion they've been thinking about for decades, one leaked document doesn't feel like to me will change their opinion. >> the supreme court is supposed to be insulated from the passions of the people, the supreme court isn't a democratic institution. it is built on the principles of the constitution. i don't think they will be sweet. the question news what these protests, what showing up in front of homes will do to the democratic process, what price or benefit will democrats reap come midterms for this type of display. will: the group protesting described itself as against a corrupt and illegitimate supreme court. this is the ideas of the group, don't worry, just peaceful protests, we've heard that before, take a listen. >> are president. in peaceful protest, that's part of our democracy and part of the history of the united states in this country but also respects and understands the independence of the third branch of government and the role of the supreme court and what they play. they will make the decisions and we will not preach us of the final opinion. >> i get nervous when i hear peaceful protest, i think of the cnn reporter with the burning buildings. pete: this would be every aspect of this another administration would be raised catholic so this is where this bigotry is coming at. one of the churches that never budget and moved with the culture in terms of abortion. they've always been the culture of life, we see this the supreme court is a legitimate and call on their powers to stand at or in a local catholic church. rachel: why are they so upset about this going to the states, a lot of passage in the 50 years since roe versus wade was decided, taking it to the states means pro-lifers have to make the moral case but also so much has been done on the scientific part of this equation. since then back in the i think the supreme court, it is good for america, 63 million children have been aborted since roe versus wade, this is a crime against god and i would hope and pray this stays in the go back to the record. it is more radical than what roe versus wade stood for. when you force the pro-abortion movement to define what they stand for, it is something compatible with the pro-life movement, don't rachel: thank you, alexandria. as a catholic myself, you know, joe biden has been a real disappointment as a catholic. he can't even come out as a catholic to say it's wrong, to protest inside the sacred space of a catholic church on a sunday. this guy has been just an absolute disappointment. and i'll just say this, you know, this i abortion rights, i think it's right that it's going back to the states. ultimately, what this is all about a is who gets to who is human enough to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. this country has had this discussion before at another era, and this is what this ultimately is about. it'll go back to the states and, hopefully, i think, the culture of life will take hold, and those states that are pro-life will vote to abolish it. pete: on display is the power of the pro-abortion lobby on the left. and they're willing to explain away, dismiss away targeting of justices at their homes. and we've shown some of these images of churches and catholic churches of vandalism, of desecration, potentially threats tomorrow. we'll see what happens. they say it's going to be mostly peaceful. we've seen their mostly peaceful protests before. this is, these are hate crimes. if you're targeting people because of their religious beliefs, those are hate crimes. and i don't have any faith that this white house or justice department will treat them as such. but in this country, you're free to -- that's inside a catholic churching -- church, inside a catholic mass. supreme court illegitimate is organizing in catholic churches. will: the big takeaway, listen, when somebody claims the mantel of virtue and yells at you some -- you're almost always guilty of that sip. those that drape themselves in the defenders of democracy care nothing about the process of democracy. they don't want this to be put to a vote, they don't want it to go to the states, they simply want an outcome in the same way that those who yell racist most often harbor racist sentiments. in the same way that claim the mantel of science disregard science the minute it means we can impose a lockdown on you. whatever it is, it's about the outcome, and the outcome in this instance is abortion must be free, easy and legal. rachel: and for some of these protesters, this is their religion. and you talk about tolerance. of course, on the left they talk a lot about tolerance. to go into a church, as i said, if you understand catholicism, when we have our holy communion, we actually believe that the bread becomes jesus christ himself. this is a very sacred space, and to come in here dressed as handing maid's and disrupt such a sacred ceremony, it's unbelievable. we'll see tomorrow. i told you i'm going to st. pete peter's tomorrow. i'm hoping -- i want to go, we'll see how bad these protests are and if i'm willing to subject my children to it. but, frankly, everyone should actually go -- pete: we had him on earlier in the program, and he had a bold, optimistic tone. here's what he said. >> i would encourage catholics and people of this country to go to church, and let's see the largest turnout in the history of the united states. when these protesters come in, they're going to be greeted by thousands and thousands of worshipers who are there to celebrate life, celebrating their mothers and thanking god for their mothers. the protesters want to celebrate death. they want to abort children. will: he's joining us on the couch, lawrence jones, host of "lawrence jones cross country." >> morning, family. will: good to see you. >> good to be back in studio. want to get you in directly on this topic. a pretty astounding piece of sound. i saw you yesterday on "the five," we heard you talking about your 246 pairs of shoes. >> oh, here we go. pete has me beat with these. that's what i'm talking about. finish. pete: page out of your book, man. will: we wanted to get you in on "the view"'s sonny hosten, had some astounding views. >> i have many conservative values that i will talk to you about -- >> [inaudible] >> yes. and when you look at your network that you're standing behind, you're saying that you look at -- that's an oxymoron, a black republican. >> why? [inaudible conversations] >> i mean, i don't understand -- >> i don't understand latino republicans. will: lawrence? >> i just got a that tell you, as i was watching this, i could not help but looked at anna-and-a-half row and how weak she was. ana navarro. i just wanted to unleash rachel and let her torpedo it -- [laughter] because she's a real latino conservative that would have been, obviously, more vocal on the set there. right, exactly. a couple hinges here, because they say talk about this ox city more on-- oxymoron. i've never seen a group of people talk about a systemically racist government and sayst going to solve all our problems. they talk about how they care about life, yet they allowed planned parenthood -- whose stated goal is to kill black and brown babies. i'm not even going to get into the blood in the streets for two years after their liberal experiment. they care about the kids, yet they continue to back the teachers' unions when we need teachers most in the classrooms, when we mow that it is the teachers' unions that are blocking school choice and charter schools. they say they care about black businesses, yet the regulation comes from the democrats that has crushed a loft the black and brown businesses these past couple years. so, you know, i try to be friendly with the democrats and have a debate of substance, but what sunny is making clear, they don't want substance. they don't want a real debate because they realize this next election a lot of black and brown voters are just not going to to the democratic party. they have tried the experiment, and it's just not working for them. rachel: well, essentially, what she's saying is what joe biden said, if you don't vote for me, you must not be black. that's kind of what she was saying. it's not just that she said it's an oxymoron, she's saying you're not latina, you're not black if you don't agree with me, and it is, it's very insulting and intolerant and, again, there's hypocrisy. >> i'm going to do a monologue on this tonight on my show. i don't have to prove my show to sunny hosten. this is not true black america, right? her kids don't go to school where the majority of our kids -- they don't have to deal with the suffering. her kids go to charter schools -- i'm sorry, private schools where they can get a quality education. her husband's a doctor, she's a wealthy person. the idea that the black elites get to lecture the folks that are still going through pain right now on what life should be, that's what's insulting. and i think, you know, when i go back home or i travel the country and i'm talking to average people, people often ask me, lauren -- lawrence, how are you able to go to the south side of chicago and then go to alabama to a diner? because the people are experiencing the exact same thing. i think there are politicians as well as pundits that want to drive the division, but i've seen a connecting thread that are the people in washington don't care about those people. and if the republicans can frame that message in the next election, it'll be a blowout. i mean, i will help them with some consulting. [laughter] pete: you've always said go there, listen. they want to be heard. and when you hear them, you're saying they're the same problems you're hearing elsewhere. and you speak to those needs of blue collar workers and hard working folks, they'll respond. >> you know, will is rocking the texas socks today. do you know black folks were founded the texas republican party? >> hey, good morning, pete. how are you? good to be with you. pete: good morning. >> listen, it's indisputable that joe biden's created a terrible economy. it's a 40-year high in inflation that's killing working families, killing elders on fixed incomes, it's killing small businesses. the employment report was a good step forward, but we've got huge supply chain issues and a real risk of stagflation because our economy's slowing at the same time our inflation's rising. and it's all due to the policies of joe biden. the spending, the energy policy which made us a net energy importer, the border which is putting added burden on our economy. and so these are facts, and joe biden's rying to spin it into something positive. the polls show the reality. americans across the entire country but certainly in pennsylvania are feeling the terrible effects of joe biden's policies, and that's why he's so unpopular, and that's why we need to win the senate and the house back in 2022, and the presidency in 2024 and get the economy back in a good direction. president nobody's buying the hashtag putin price hike. >> they know where it's coming from. pete: indeed. you're in a heated republican primary, recent polling shows you and mehmet oz basically tied in first place with a big undecided number, 39%, almost 40% of pennsylvania republicans undecided. as you know, president trump was in pennsylvania, has endorsed mehmet oz in this race what's your case to republican voters that you should be the senate candidate from there? >> well, listen, president trump's very popular in pennsylvania and with good reason, because his america first policies absolutely were great for pennsylvanians and for americans. the problem is mehmet oz isn't is popular in pennsylvania, and the reason he's not popular is because he's got a whole set of positions from 20 years in the media on his show where he is anti-gun, he's pro-abortion, he's pro-transgender transitions for kids, he's pro-obama, and he's anti-fracking. and so this election is about a choice, a choice between a true conservative, a kid who grew up in pennsylvania, battle tested, served in combat like you did, pete. thank you for your service. someone who created jobs in pennsylvania and someone who's been a hollywood liberal his entire life and has flip-floppedded on every single major position since he came into this race. so that's what this race a is about, and president trump's enforcement certainly important, he's very popular in pennsylvania, but pennsylvanians have to choose whether they're going to pick someone who can help the senate come back under the leadership of conservatives. and that's why i have the momentum in my campaign, and that's why as we go down the final stretch here i'm going to continue to make my case and also make that contrast. and, by the way, this contrast is just mehmet oz and his own words. i'm not saying anything other than this is what he said, and i think pennsylvanians are starting to see the starkness of that choice, you're right. they're now just focused on this, they see the importance, and i'm optimistic as we go down the final stretch here you'll see polls move in my direction. pete: a lot of money on the line, a lot of ads, a very tight race. thank you for your service. i know you served in the 82nd air a born, and i recognize one with of those guys, say hi to -- [laughter] ranger sean parnell for me too, all right? is this a tactic that judges have have seen before? >> honestly, i think it could be backfiring on the people who want to do this stuff. i think it's going to make the justices more dug in than ever. i think a lot of people are happy that the justice showed up at that 11th circuit, and, yes, they're doing can work at this track. you've got to remember, his confirmation was bloody. it was a really difficult, nasty period in his life. he made it through that, and he is not going to be bullied now. so, listen, if you're on the left, right or certain, wherever you are on the court, this is about protecting the institution is, protecting each other, and and i've got to believe that this is something that's only going to make history whatever their position was even more deeply. my take. rachel: you're right, justice clarence thomas has been through so much, and i do think he's fortified by it, and it's not going to change him, but some of these justices are so new, and this kind of scrutiny, maybe it could impact them or maybe even just scare the heck out of their families in that way. what do you think? >> yeah. it's very difficult because now their home addresses are out there. these groups, even when this blows over, people are going to know where they live, and that's going to be very unsettling to hem. some of them have young children, some have grown children and grandchildren. those people go to work, those kids go to school and, listen, there is security out there and there ising of course, senatorsf that up and provide for their families, and i think that's going to have bipartisan support on the hill. i can't imagine it won't. it seems that the people who are aiming to intimidate can them may actually be ticking a lot of other people off in the process, and i don't think it's probably long term a good strategy. will: to your justice thomas isn't the only one who's been through the wringer, justice kavanaugh -- rachel: that's fair enough. will: and i can only imagine, by the way, if they did change their opinion, what that would do for the supreme court's reputation. shannon, we have talked about your book many times, but we haven't talkedded with you about your book. we have mothers and daughters of the bible speak. it is a bestseller. we're glad to have you on the program. it's going great, shannon. everybody seems to love it. >> listen, i hope that it will encourage mamas and, you know, there are all kinds of struggles with motherhood. i hope moms are very celebrated this weekend. listen, if you ever think you're missing a beat as a mom, do not forget that mary, the mother of jesus, lost him at one point for several days. they went on this trip and he were returning home from jerusalem, and she realized jesus wasn't there. they go back and search for him frantically, and it was three days before they found him. so if you've ever lost your kid for three minutes, three seconds, even the woman that we like to think was the most perfect mother of all time, she had her rough days too. so this book is full of moms, daughters, sons and all kinds of adventures, and i hope that moms will enjoy it this weekend. a lot of people told me they got it as a gift for if their mom, i've signed a few, so i hope they feel gifted and special. rachel: shannon, i lost my daughter at disney world once and, actually, i felt a lot of guilt and found solace in the fact that, you know, mary lost the son of god -- [laughter] >> right. rah. rachel: thank you for sharing that. that really resonated with me. this is a great mother's day gift for all of you, and you will actually love the stories in here. and you think your family is dysfunctional, read the bible. yours is not as dysfunctional as so many of these families. so you can take solace in that -- pete: i think we lost shannon. >> did we lose her?
