united states. runaway inflation devastating family budgets now. crime waves terrorizing our cities, the fentanyl explosion killing thousands of americans every month, millions of illegal aliens brazenly walking across the border and our own homeless population is exploding. how could this be happening in america? we keep asking night after night, how low can present abiding go in the polls before his team or schumer or pelosi admit it's time for a course correction? a political party that's actually interested in success and results -- you know, that whole making life better for the average person thing, would know by now that it was time for a change. but apparently that time still hasn't come. instead, they stick with the same antigrowth, pro-crime policies that have driven biden to a staggering 33% approval in the latest quinnipiac poll. and i guess they think that they can turn this around by, i don't know, appearing to feel your pain? >> we understand some realities happening now. >> president biden: i grew up in a family, not a joke, where the price of a gallon of gasoline what's up, it was a conversation at our kitchen table. it mattered. >> he understands, he understands of this impact people's pocketbooks and creates uncertainty in our lives. >> laura: the sad truth is the part of 2022 is not the party of bill clinton anymore. if the party of black lives matter, climate crazies, and trans activists. so how exactly does joe manchin even fit inside this twisted tend? they seem to be engaged in a brazen act of self sabotage. if the democrats extending mask mandates when americans say it's time to move on from covid. democrats are turning the border into an open market for the cartels. of course they are using the doj for vindictive political crusades and they are threatening the states that are actually protecting girls sports. it's insane. and pelosi's house, that's not even requiring people to show up to vote. and schumer over in the senate apparently think that's fine if one of california's senators it's just unable to perform regular duties. more on that disaster later in the show. and then biden, he just throws more money at student loan forgiveness, driving inflation up even more. and the only thing they change is there messaging. >> the vast number of american people believe that the main reason for their increase in prices and at the pump is in fact price gouging. there is overwhelming support, 80% of americans, for a windfall profits tax. we cannot tolerate in any industry price gouging. >> president biden: i'm doing everything in my power by executive order to bring down the prices to address the putin price hike. >> laura: okay, gouging, putin price hiking. none of it works. even nbc admitted it. >> in reality, inflation has been soaring above 5% for nearly a year and our latest nbc news poll shows just 6% of americans blame rising prices on the russian invasion of ukraine. 38% blame president biden and his policies. >> laura: the beltway media that did everything in its power to take down trump and boost biden's obvious my now very worried. this all begs the question, when will pelosi, hoyer, and schumer trudge up to 1600 pennsylvania avenue to tell biden he needs an immediate policy and staff shake-up? why does ron klain come to the chief of staff, still have his job? how about secretary of the treasury janet yellen? >> i see important transitory influence. and i don't anticipate it will be permanent. we see inflation expectations by most measures and by most measures see those expectations as being well anchored. >> laura: i wouldn't hire her to collect change of the tollbooth. we needed treasury secretary that knows basic economics. and what about all those democrat mega dormers? are they happy with things the way they are going out? or are they just happy censoring speech? if they are, they just love america the way the rest of us do. the only conclusion that the angle can draw at this point is that the democrats and their various constituencies out there just don't care about any of us. and they aren't interested in compromise. even if it means getting shellacked in november, which is coming. and they called trump supporter's fanatics? and f the angle. joining me now is louisiana -- senator john kennedy. a senator, as i said at the outset, this seems almost vindictive at this point. what's your read? >> laura, i'm trying to be more careful now that i know you can be slapped for telling a bad joke. but in my opinion, unless you have untreated mental illness, most fair-minded americans understand that while republicans are not perfect, the other side or at least most members of the other side are crazy. and the leader of course of the other side is president biden. president biden has been an almost perfect example of ineptitude. the biden administration stands for more government, higher taxes, more spending, more debt, more regulation, a weaker military, abortion on demand. they want to turn cops into social workers. the biden administration has mismanaged congress, it's mismanaged covid, it's mismanaged immigration, it's mismanaged crime, it's mismanaged afghanistan, and mismanaged inflation. but it's worth asking why. there are some smart people in the biden administration and he think the answer to that is clear too. the biden administration has embraced and is being run by the woke. it's easy to recognize the wokers. they hate george washington, thomas jefferson, dr. zeus and mr. potato head. the wokers also hate america and they want to beat it. and they think they are smarter and more virtuous than the rest of us. they think all nonwokers are racist and ignorant and misogynistic. they think they -- we should shut up and listen to them and let them run our lives. and they will let us ab eat meat occasionally and that is a long-winded way of explaining why the majority of the american people right now trust the biden administration like they trust a kmart bathroom. >> laura: that's an insult to the kmart bathrooms out there, senator. but i will leave that be. speaking of the inflation problem, earlier today the president suggested once again that it's not really his fault. >> president biden: putin invasion of ukraine has driven up gas prices all over the world. we saw that yesterday in inflation data. what people don't know is that 70% of the increase in the inflation was a consequence of putin's price because of the impact on oil prices. 70%. >> laura: we are not sure where he got that 70% line, but the inflation rate was at 7.9% in february versus 8.5% now. senator, they are trying to spin this like it's a messaging problem. this is a policy problem. through and through. but they keep doing what obviously isn't working, given these disastrous poles for them. >> here's what the american people see. first, the president blamed inflation on covid. and then he blamed it on greedy businesswomen and greedy businessmen. and then the president said inflation is caused by unemployment, and now he is saying putin did it. as i've said before, i wouldn't be surprised if the white house tried to claim tomorrow that inflation originated in a bat, but the truth is that president biden has no one else to plausibly blame but himself, and all the american people know -- let me put it another way. when a honey bun costs 20 bucks in your home was on the beach eating seaweed, most americans are going to blame president biden, as they should. >> laura: senator graham it's great to see you tonight as always. thank you so much. and speaking of gimmicks, the democrats are scrambling to recover young voters who are abandoning the party en masse into the student loan forgiveness scam. >> we were saddled with a lot of unethical and immoral -- immorally kind of created student loan debt, and for those people we really want to make sure that we cancel student loan debt. >> it was a crisis before the covid-19 pandemic and it is an even bigger one now. i can't think of a better opportunity to cancel student loan debt. >> laura: this is a fake crisis. brookings institution study says that about a third of the student debt is owed by the wealthiest 20% of households with only 8% by the bottom quintile. and it's disproportionally held by -- it's held by those who have especially high lifetime earning potential. journeyman how is ari fleischer from the white house press secretary, fox news contributor, and omelette f nova, former left-wing activists. ari, this is so transparent, what they are doing with the student debt forgiveness. it's insulting, and obvious we just adds to our economic woes. >> and it's just morally wrong. why is it student debt? why is -- why isn't that your car debt? why isn't it your home debt? what a burden, nobody should have to pay any of their bills. it's wrong to make people pay the bills that they incurred. what about all the rest of us who do pay our bills and do pay our debts? on appointment, as president biden loves to point out, is low. people have jobs, they have money, so they need to pay their bills. if this is just buying votes as the democrats always try to do, but this is also an example of how the democrats are increasingly becoming the party of the rich. these are the well-to-do college graduates, master's degree-holding college graduates, just like they want to bring back the relief if you pay your state and local income taxes, to deduct all those, which benefit wealthy people with big houses and those mostly coastal states. democrats have changed their roots and base, they are the party of the rich. >> laura: they are losing young people, they are losing hispanic voters. but the student loan forgiveness, as already said, that's targeted towards the young voters who are saying what, this isn't what we thought we were buying. my question comes to august they are of is the going to extend it again. is this going to work? are you guys cheap dates? >> [laughs] you know, you'll be hard-pressed to meet a young person who doesn't love the word "free" and when it comes to student loan debt they love to hear that. they love to hear that it's going to be forgiven, but what about all the other families and students who have already paid off their loans? i didn't force anybody to go and sign a loan for $50,000 to go to school. they can keep trying to run on the sly that they are going to forgive this to people, but that's all it is. it you see people like chuck schumer put out on twitter, said he would be a great day could to cancel student loan debt, i do want to tell people, that's all it's ever going to be, it's only ever going to be a tweet. they are not going to do this for you, and you should be full to thinking that they will. it's the very same thing that they do with black lives matter. every single election cycle, suddenly they care about black lives and they are going to all this stuff for the black community, and as soon as they are voted in, nothing happens. people need to start waking up to this. >> laura: speaking of schumer, ari, he just continues to reveal, for a man who's been in congress since the '80s, he continues to reveal basic economic ignorance. watch. >> it's amazing to me that we could just take a burden off people's shoulders so easily with the flick of a pen, the president can do it. student debt is one of the very biggest things holding our economy back. i have told the president this is one of the most important things he can do to help our economy grow. >> laura: is just reading whatever speechwriter or whatever wrote for him. it's pathetic reading it. but that's the biggest thing we could do -- what did he say, get the economy going or healthy -- really? that's their idea for growing the economy? >> they never talk about economic growth, than ever talk about circumstances and the environment to let the private sector bloom, give people higher-paying, better paying jobs. that'll comes from the private sector, not the heavy-handed government. but the common three theme through these socialist policies is that life should be free and that we and the government are here to make sure that you have no financial burdens, requirements, needs, because the government will forgive you. it can't work that way. this is why socialist countries got doomed. they gave away too much free stuff. we as americans are too sensible, we know this won't work, we know it's not right and when you incur a debt you have an obligation to pay the debt. it doesn't get work obligated than that. if you lose her job, you are unemployed, there are emergency systems that kick in to prevent you from having to go under or pay those bills, but as a general matter, no, you incur a debt, you pay a debt. >> laura: what you can't pay back, the old sayings of your pairings, that's what my mom used to say, don't borrow it if you can't pay it back. democrats do have some top priorities, and one of them seems to be prohibiting hair discrimination. a "washington post" op-ed, critics have argued that the crown act is redundant because the civil rights of act of 1964 protects against racial disco nation, but supporters of the bill rightly point out the clear language is necessary. this is geared towards minority voters, african american women. i know this is popular with some of them. will this help stem the tide of black voters who are also looking at alternatives other than the democrats? >> you know, i think they're just grasping at straws at this point. a bill surrounding discrimination around black hair? are you kidding me? i have never heard of a more ridiculous thing and advising that people should be discriminated against based on their hair? absolutely not, but is it a pervasive problem that we need to be focusing our time, our money, and our resources on as a country? absolutely not. and i think because they are realizing that black voters are looking up the words that they are saying and if not matching up to their actions. so again, they are grasping at straws trying to push this racist red supremacist narrative that they run with every single election cycle in hopes of gaining those votes back. and i don't think it's going to work. >> laura: no, it's sad. you know what else was sad? >> it doesn't look like it's worth it. there's two papers, one by a met and collects, dealing with fourth doses of either pfizer or modernity. the vaccine efficacy overall is way less than 50% for all groups, actually as low as 10% in some groups and we don't know the cumulative toxicity now. >> laura: always good to see you, thank you so much. what's your favorite easter candy?
