when kamala harris, white house staffers and most of the democrat establishment rushed to the rescue of sleepy joe biden after his disastrous news conference full-court press and media. appearing on almost every channel in an effort to clean up joe's mess. you see, it's an old rule in politics, when something goes right, you let it stand on its own, kind of like an exclamation point. but, when it goes wrong, oh then it's clean-up time. who in the world thought joe biden standing at a podium for two hours would go right. from russia and ukraine to the legitimacy of the 2022 midterms, oops. harris psaki and the rest of the dems had nothing but splaining to do today. now we all watched joe biden yesterday. we heard what he had to say. we tried to understand it. but that didn't stop the biden team from gaslighting all of us. today, they made sure we were crystal clear about what he really meant. >> i think you heard very clearly multiple times last night from the president we just want to be -- have always wanted to be clear the president has been crystal clear i think. you saw the president make a statement or convey clearly his point of view this morning which is reflective of exactly what he said. most importantly to president putin. >> let me be very clear what the president has conveyed directly to president putin. >> the president was very clear he has a plan to do that. >> i think you heard the president be very clear-eyed about that. >> it is clear to us that the decision is probably in his hands. >> on the subject of ukraine, i will tell you that the president has been very clear. >> it is less than clear because 30 minutes after the news conference the white house press secretary had to actually clarify the president remarks. >> savanna, i'm being clear with you right now. >> yes. okay. >> so if you are interested, i will continue to be clear. >> we are clear and have been clear for quite some time. >> pete: you stay that someone is clear when they have definitely not been clear at all. so, i think the white house cleaning crew they might have missed a few spots. clean up on aisle -- clean up on every aisle? because i'm more confused now than i was after joe biden's speech. why is it so hard for this administration to actually make just basic sense? well it's an unwholly alliance of a radical failed ideology and feckless incompetence. but, lucky for us, the american people are noticing, how could they not though had in hutch napper in chief. new polling shows 70%, 7-0 percent of americans don't want joe biden to run for another term. that is beyond an alarming number for a sitting president, only one year in. almost three quarters of the country have said they are crying uncle. they said i have had enough. so if not biden, then who? well, one person who thinks she is ready to pounce is the vice president. during her morning media blast it was all lights, camera, kamala. as the v.p. served as her own hype woman talking herself up and making sure the american people know just how important she is. >> well, i will tell you that i -- every morning, start my morning and my day reading the presidential daily brief. the pdb. i'm often in the situation room, and i will tell you i will tell you -- and i will tell you. >> and i will tell you. >> but i will tell you this. and in the year that i have been here as vice president, i have witnessed him continuously. >> the issue i was there last night in the chamber of the senate. >> i have met. >> i have met with prime ministers and presidents. >> i have been able to travel. >> i have met some of the most extraordinary people. >> i'm not going to give up. >> and that's how i feel. i take that seriously. >> you know, i will tell you and you will appreciate, this gayle, last week i was in atlanta and i had a visit with ambassador andy young. >> i start every morning roading the presidential daily briefing. >> i will repeat myself and i'm vice president of the united states. >> pete: i have done things. i've met people. i read. and i am the vice president. watch out, joe, you are number two is coming for you. but, if kamala wants a seat at the head of the table, at an absolute minimum she needs to be handle like toughish questions from fellow democrats without completely losing her cool. >> doesn't that show republicans are willing to help the initiative. >> let me finish. >> what? >> pete: are you finished now, kamala? good, because it looks like the entire administration, well, it's finished, too. >> here to respond, karl rove, former white house deputy chief of staff and joe concha, both are fox news contributors. karl and joe, you guys do -- you are jacks of all trades but karl on the political side you have been there and done in the middle of administrations and good times and bad. joe, you know a little bit about how the media reacts to certain things and how politicians attempt to get the media to react to certain things. karl, i will start with you. assess the last, i don't know, 24 hours. what the biden administration thought they were doing and how it's actually unfolded. >> yeah, look, i think the problem with president biden's statement on ukraine last night was not that it was, you know, a misstatement. i think the problem is that he stated his policy, which is that if it's a minor incursion, let them have it, which is as you know a huge mistake. you know, he has already made a mistake there is strategic ambiguity matters. we don't go out and say if china tries to take taiwan we are going to defend taiwan but by god we give every signal that we are and should have done that with ukraine the first thing he said was we're not going to be no military as if they attack ukraine not going to engage militarily. that was the wrong thing to say. he was telling us last night what he actually expects and what he believes and what he will do if there is a minor incursion maybe we can live with that. that's really, really troubling. today when they sent people out he has been very clear. he was very clear last night about how weak he is on the issue of ukraine. and attempt an attempt by the russians to reestablish the soviet sphere of influence in central and eastern europe is there disconnect between what he talked about yesterday and what real people are talking didn't talk about the other border. talk about minor incursions. how disconnected is this white house from the real people? >> this is what i wrote about in the "wall street journal" weekly column. one of the biggest problems they have consistently faceside that they have overpromised and undelivered on covid which was his big deal. then they have focused on things that are not the concerns of ordinary americans. is he out there trying to sell a gigantic expansion of the welfare state and ordinary americans are saying, you know what? i'm worried that inflation is the prices that i'm having to pay at the grocery and the gas pump are way too high and my paycheck is not keeping up with the increase in prices? and he goes out and talks about the federal takeover of the elections and people are saying, do you know what? what i'm worried about is the government is spending too much money and you better rein it in because my kids and grandkids are not going to be able to pay it back. the disconnect and dissidence between what they're focused on and what the ordinary american is. that's why 28% of the american people think the country is on the right track and 64% say it's off on the -- going in the wrong direction. that's a big reason why because the president is not talking about the things they are concerned about. joe help me out on the media piece with this. took to the podium because he knew he had to. he took to the podium and they took to the cable news today and circuits all day long. what did they hope to accomplish it and did they accomplish it. >> they did not accomplish it things are as clear as mud. to use kamala harris term clear. what is our policy in terms of russia and ukraine. and what if they do make a minor incursion. what are they going to do? vladimir putin probably knows. probably not much, right? and you mentioned before the disconnect, boy, it's such a big deal. not one question yesterday about violent crime skyrocketing throughout this country. american cities spilling in to the suburbs. joe biden doesn't talk about that in major speeches anyway. and then karl mentioned the border before. that's right. no questions specifically about the border as well. 2.2 million people coming into this country last year, pete. that's triple the size of washington, d.c. that total population. so, kamala harris, to put her out there, even to the nbc today show to put out the fire, the porch light is on but it appears no one is home. two words come to mind watching that interview. defleckive and defensive. and what's utterly amazing to the point of crap tastic is how the vice president of the united states goes into nationally televised interviews by seemingly not prepping in any way, shape, or form. if i were her media coach or someone on her communications team the very first thing i would tell her look, madam vice president there is an excellent chance one of the first questions is going to been the president's claim future elections will somehow be stolen by republicans that they could actually change vote totals. you will probably be asked about that. we have been trying to clean it up since. you would think she would be prepared for that instead, she becomes she is a deer in the headlights not like a regular car it's an 18-wheeler like me during sex ed freshman year ralph cramdone i don't know the answer. female version of ralph cramdone. completely caught off guard incompetent. incoherent and responding also happened last week covid testing and expected surge before the holidays. framed the quote on my desk and leave it again here. it is time for us to do what we have been doing and that time is every day unquote. going to teach my kids that words to live by, pete. >> pete: words to live bye bye a master communicator. karl and joe, thank you guys so much. great assessment. appreciate it this evening. >> thank you. >> pete: thank you. all right, up next, the same democrats who accused republicans of undermining faith in the american election system as joe concha just referenced, spread some, i don't know, what should we call it, big lies of their own? when kamala harris, white house staffers and most of the democrat establishment rushed to the rescue of sleepy joe biden after his disastrous news conference full-court press and media. appearing on almost every channel in an effort to clean up joe's mess. you see, it's an old rule in politics, when something goes right, you let it stand on its own, kind of like an exclamation point. but, when it goes wrong, oh then it's clean-up time. who in the world thought joe biden standing at a podium for two hours would go right. from russia and ukraine to the legitimacy of the 2022 midterms, oops. harris psaki and the rest of the dems had nothing but splaining to do today. now we all watched joe biden yesterday. we heard what he had to say. we tried to understand it. but that didn't stop the biden team from gaslighting all of us. today, they made sure we were crystal clear about what he really meant. >> i think you heard very clearly multiple times last night from the president we just want to be -- have always wanted to be clear the president has been crystal clear i think. you saw the president make a statement or convey clearly his point of view this morning which is reflective of exactly what he said. most importantly to president putin. >> let me be very clear what the president has conveyed directly to president putin. >> the president was very clear he has a plan to do that. >> i think you heard the president be very clear-eyed about that. >> it is clear to us that the decision is probably in his hands. >> on the subject of ukraine, i will tell you that the president has been very clear. >> it is less than clear because 30 minutes after the news conference the white house press secretary had to actually clarify the president remarks. >> savanna, i'm being clear with you right now. >> yes. okay. >> so if you are interested, i will continue to be clear. >> we are clear and have been clear for quite some time. >> pete: you stay that someone is clear when they have definitely not been clear at all. so, i think the white house cleaning crew they might have missed a few spots. clean up on aisle -- clean up on every aisle? because i'm more confused now than i was after joe biden's speech. why is it so hard for this administration to actually make just basic sense? well it's an unwholly alliance of a radical failed ideology and feckless incompetence. but, lucky for us, the american people are noticing, how could they not though had in hutch napper in chief. new polling shows 70%, 7-0 percent of americans don't want joe biden to run for another term. that is beyond an alarming number for a sitting president, only one year in. almost three quarters of the country have said they are crying uncle. they said i have had enough. so if not biden, then who? well, one person who thinks she is ready to pounce is the vice president. during her morning media blast it was all lights, camera, kamala. as the v.p. served as her own hype woman talking herself up and making sure the american people know just how important she is. >> well, i will tell you that i -- every morning, start my morning and my day reading the presidential daily brief. the pdb. i'm often in the situation room, and i will tell you i will tell you -- and i will tell you. >> and i will tell you. >> but i will tell you this. and in the year that i have been here as vice president, i have witnessed him continuously. >> the issue i was there last night in the chamber of the senate. >> i have met. >> i have met with prime ministers and presidents. >> i have been able to travel. >> i have met some of the most extraordinary people. >> i'm not going to give up. >> and that's how i feel. i take that seriously. >> you know, i will tell you and you will appreciate, this gayle, last week i was in atlanta and i had a visit with ambassador andy young. >> i start every morning roading the presidential daily briefing. >> i will repeat myself and i'm vice president of the united states. >> pete: i have done things. i've met people. i read. and i am the vice president. watch out, joe, you are number two is coming for you. but, if kamala wants a seat at the head of the table, at an absolute minimum she needs to be handle like toughish questions from fellow democrats without completely losing her cool. >> doesn't that show republicans are willing to help the initiative. >> let me finish. >> what? >> pete: are you finished now, kamala? good, because it looks like the entire administration, well, it's finished, too. >> here to respond, karl rove, former white house deputy chief of staff and joe concha, both are fox news contributors. karl and joe, you guys do -- you are jacks of all trades but karl on the political side you have been there and done in the middle of administrations and good times and bad. joe, you know a little bit about how the media reacts to certain things and how politicians attempt to get the media to react to certain things. karl, i will start with you. assess the last, i don't know, 24 hours. what the biden administration thought they were doing and how it's actually unfolded. >> yeah, look, i think the problem with president biden's statement on ukraine last night was not that it was, you know, a misstatement. i think the problem is that he stated his policy, which is that if it's a minor incursion, let them have it, which is as you know a huge mistake. you know, he has already made a mistake there is strategic ambiguity matters. we don't go out and say if china tries to take taiwan we are going to defend taiwan but by god we give every signal that we are and should have done that with ukraine the first thing he said was we're not going to be no military as if they attack ukraine not going to engage militarily. that was the wrong thing to say. he was telling us last night what he actually expects and what he believes and what he will do if there is a minor incursion maybe we can live with that. that's really, really troubling. today when they sent people out he has been very clear. he was very clear last night about how weak he is on the issue of ukraine. and attempt an attempt by the russians to reestablish the soviet sphere of influence in central and eastern europe is there disconnect between what he talked about yesterday and what real people are talking didn't talk about the other border. talk about minor incursions. how disconnected is this white house from the real people? >> this is what i wrote about in the "wall street journal" weekly column. one of the biggest problems they have consistently faceside that they have overpromised and undelivered on covid which was his big deal. then they have focused on things that are not the concerns of ordinary americans. is he out there trying to sell a gigantic expansion of the welfare state and ordinary americans are saying, you know what? i'm worried that inflation is the prices that i'm having to pay at the grocery and the gas pump are way too high and my paycheck is not keeping up with the increase in prices? and he goes out and talks about the federal takeover of the elections and people are saying, do you know what? what i'm worried about is the government is spending too much money and you better rein it in because my kids and grandkids are not going to be able to pay it back. the disconnect and dissidence between what they're focused on and what the ordinary american is. that's why 28% of the american people think the country is on the right track and 64% say it's off on the -- going in the wrong direction. that's a big reason why because the president is not talking about the things they are concerned about. joe help me out on the media piece with this. took to the podium because he knew he had to. he took to the podium and they took to the cable news today and circuits all day long. what did they hope to accomplish it and did they accomplish it. >> they did not accomplish it things are as clear as mud. to use kamala harris term clear. what is our policy in terms of russia and ukraine. and what if they do make a minor incursion. what are they going to do? vladimir putin probably knows. probably not much, right? and you mentioned before the disconnect, boy, it's such a big deal. not one question yesterday about violent crime skyrocketing throughout this country. american cities spilling in to the suburbs. joe biden doesn't talk about that in major speeches anyway. and then karl mentioned the border before. that's right. no questions specifically about the border as well.
