men in america seem different from what they used to be. anybody over the age of 40 know that these changes are dramatic. could this have something to do with the drop in testosterone levels? and by the way if this is happening why? we rarely talk about any of these things. instead we are told two look away from the obvious. turn two cnn's latest fixation. these are the issues that we must care about. but they are incorrect. these are not the most importan issues. whether or not our own children are getting married. there something a bit scary about watching this happen to the entire population. these are issues that ultimatel don't matter. this is probably not going to work out very well. twitter can ban all the criminals and wants too. if you want your country to continue you must answer nature and curtis. do you have a reliable food supply? what are you using for energy? how many people do you want living in your country? the size of the population matters very much. and often determines the nationstate. we don't talk much about the size of the nation but we probably should. there are now more than 334 million people in. that is a lot of new people in short period of time. this is nearly twice the population of the western unite states. that is massive and incredibly rapid growth. immigration is now at its highest level ever recorded. over just the last year roughly two laypeople from if the world came across the borders illegally. it makes you wonder what sort o economy they imagine we are going to have going forward. automation is replacing chop th storm in. what are they going to be doing 20 years from now. they can't all bus tables in napa. despite the best efforts to serve the donors some of these immigrants are going to rise higher than they should. honestly bless them for that. nobody invited been here and we don't want them to come. yet a country is more than success of a handful of people as inspiring as this is to watch. even if every single person tha snuck across the southern borde this year it would still not be worth worrying about the effect of mass immigration. the question is how many is too many? in washington you will never hear the question. more bodies mean more power for the people that are running it. they always want more people. the incentive for unrestrained population growth has been spread into the system. that is bad news for the rest o us. this is a talking point and it' also true. the larger it becomes the more impersonally gets. when you pass a certain size they lose their regard for people. the people in charge no longer care what you think. they don't have to worry about how their policies will affect you or your family. that is the product of population growth. in case you're wondering why th leaders the longer seem interested in your health or happiness this is the reason. they don't have to be. the population is too large. previous generations to not liv in a country like this. they would be stunned by the attitudes we see today. arresting people for walking through the us capitol building? for most of the history to believe they own the capital. they thought it was theirs because they assumed it was their country. after the 1904 presidential election he greeted voters in person on the lawn of the white house. it was his home and he lived there what it belongs to the. the athenians invented democratic government. they only had about 8,000 voters. beyond a certain scale democrac no longer works. theseus and the way the leaders talk. they hardly mentioned individuals anymore. they go on about voting blocks. you can hear these terms constantly but they are nonsensical. that don't mean anything. this is not a community. by definition 47 by people cannot be a community. matter what color they are. what you are looking at is not community but for 7 million million individuals. they aren't the same as everybody else. they are just human beings. you forget this when you are in charge of that many people. you can't help but dehumanize them. a kid from harvard wrote a book demanding we open its borders t an additional 700 million but additional immigrants from around the world. wall street will be thrilled. we would be more diverse. you can see the goat barbecue delivered. has noted this kid is a moron. but in washington nobody laughe at this. a few people agreed with the thesis including some publicans. nobody has spent time in a crowded country. mass population growth makes life worse for almost everybody. that is the main problem with chronic countries. they are difficult to live in. the culture becomes hypercompetitive. crowding is bad for people. in the late 1940s a researcher forced a group of rats to live in very crowded pens. they became aggressive and ultimately died. people are not so different fro this. rich people still understand this. anybody that has been around th world knows if you lose the us where would you go? nobody is going to mexico. if they are being honest they might say new zealand. those are low density places. why do they buy large boats? the same reason. uncrowded is good. yellowstone is beautiful becaus it is empty. it is all quite obvious but onl in a moment like this would we need to be reminded of this. larger is not always better. most of the time at his worst. have you driven around the country recently? you may notice there are fewer and fewer beautiful things in america. the question is why is this happening? the people in charge have no taste. they can acquire that they can' discern. accountants are doing the exterior design. it is a terrible idea obviously. it is inherently ugly. there has never been a beautifu skyscraper. the fact that people pretend otherwise shows you how conditioned we have become. would you rather wake up in a condo on the top floor of an office tower or in a log cabin in a pine forest? no person is choosing that condo. you are told this condo is better and that is what it cost more. how exactly does this scale int an advantage? size is a threat to matter what it is. anything large is terrifying to us. children run from big things. many americans remember what they have longed for. it's almost always moving to some were smaller. it is the reverse of any other internal migration we have ever seen. americans are going from the city to the farm. they want more nature and more human contact. it's difficult to believe they will ever stop wanting these things. at some point down the road you could imagine young people setting out to reach the interior of the continent. this may be a better place to live as a child then some parking lot 20 miles from los angeles. people aren't stupid, they have just been misled. for decades the leaders have ignored the essentials. the food energy and water improves nobody's life. these people are ridiculous and we are about to see the results of the long-standing negligence. the energy prices are not going down. how high will they go? nobody knows. it would make more sense to buy things nearby. may be order them online from a warehouse across the continent. the rising cost of transportation is likely to be permanent. the world we live and will not last. it is not necessarily a tragedy. there is nothing wrong with setting down roots smaller. it's quite nice actually. healthy societies are not at al like this. they don't exist to maintain empires. they exist to serve the humans living within them. this is the opposite of the system we currently have. the good news is that the syste will not last. it is going to end. as it does not and we can think about how we want to live in going forward. the relationships are the sum o your life. they move outward in concentric circles. this is the actual community.
