maybe it's both? >> i'm not sure what joe biden suffers from but it's clear that he is extremely incompetent and doesn't know what he's doing. this is the same person who said he had a plan but there is no monoclonal antibody treatments anywhere in the hospital in the northeast and being rationed right now because the administration did not plan. millions of americans are looking for tests or at home tests and there aren't any because we did not plan. at time after time after time, joe biden has failed. why are we surprised by this at this point, americo? we shouldn't be. compared to the beginning of the pandemic, there were no respirators and donald trump made sure they were there. there was no ppe, donald trump nature they were there. we were having a major supplying chain issue, donald trump nature didn't become a problem at the beginning of the pandemic. this is less for the american people to look at what's happening versus political talking points. the only person that had talking points has been joe biden. unfortunately we have to live with it. >> gregg: he had a lot of talking points, our attorney general, during the campaign. he had a plan, he had a solution and he said "i'm going to shut down the virus" and said it over and over again when he was inaugurated, he said the same thing i'm going to shut down the virus. isn't this the problem when politicians running for office make all kinds of wild promises they cannot possibly fulfill. when they fail, americans get angry and resentful about it, and politicians ratings tank. isn't that what happened here? >> i think you encapsulated that very well. the reason why they are sick and tired of politicians in d.c., they're so much hypocrisy and inconsistency. what breaks my heart, there was a time this country when the president said something you believed it and you knew it was the truth. but because people like joe biden and people's administration has been inconsistent and talking out of both sides of their mouth, they created more chaos when it comes to the pandemic and they try to exert unconstitutional powers they do not have. this country faced many processes in the past and they recognize and understand what's consistent about the country is the constitution. the federal government did not create the states and what works in manhattan, new york, may not work in manhattan, kansas, and isn't going to work in manhattan beach california. we have to recognize the system of federal that they recognize in times of crisis that's when we look to the constitution and rule of law more than ever. our constitution cannot be a mass distance and should never be canceled by president joe biden. >> gregg: i think joe biden sometimes believes americans are as stupid as he is. he said that if he had known about the winter surge, he would have made testing widespread readily available. in advance. but he was warned in the springtime by health officials that there was going to be a surge. they recommended millions of rapid tests. he was warned again in the fall. he was told we need 730 million rapid tests, he rejected the proposal. isn't he lying when he says nobody knew, fauci knew, cdc new, they are his science advisors, they told him. >> of course joe biden is lying, he's lying like he said nobody told him about afghanistan. it's a lie then and a line now. anybody with sense knows in the winter months any type of flu strain, influenza, covid, anything aerosolized is going to spread in the winter months in the northeast. it's happened every winter are basically in the history of mankind. the problem is we are dealing with an inapt president. this is the same person who is always failing, like i said a minute ago. why are we shocked at this point? the man doesn't know what he's doing. he's a failure. the american people need to do is we need to prepare for ourselves and we cannot rely on this president. we should never rely on government because government is too slow, not responsive enough, and not bright enough. we need to rely on ourselves and make sure we planned ahead, we need to do what's necessary late to take care of ourselves and our families. joe biden's not here to help you, folks, he will let you down every single time. >> gregg: i remember, attorney general, when joe biden the candidate scoffed at donald trump's prediction that in the springtime of this year, there would be vaccines readily available and distributed to americans. biden said nonsense, that's not going to happen. then when it happened, joe biden took credit for the vaccines as well as the distribution plan that donald trump had put in place. biden largely went along with it. as well as saying biden saying that he had no plan to deal with the vaccine, isn't that his real failure here? that he just never came up with a plan, he thought that the vaccine that trump had devised would solve everything. >> yeah, gregg, the one thing that has been consistent is the fact that everything that biden administration has touched has worked out very poorly. there's a whole saying about the failure to plan is the plan to fail. this country has faced pandemics before. this is something that we need to recognize that's happened before and depend on folks and leaders to make sure that they plan appropriately. big no mistake about it, we can't afford gas, we can't afford groceries, fuel costs are going through the roof. the biden administration is to blame for all of this. the enablers in congress is results of the policies, inflations going through the roof and there is no serious conversation about covid as a pandemic unless we talk about the epidemic at that biden created with fentanyl coming into the country, and think about this. and everybody watching it tonight, you're telling americans that you'll restrict our constitutional rights and we have to do xyz or testing nontesting, and allowing people to enter the entry illegally to fly all across the country and at taxpayers expense without being vaccinated and dropped off in cities at the dead of night without being tested. that underlies everything biden administration's doing and points out the abject hypocrisy and irrationality of what they are trying to do when it comes to the pandemic. >> gregg: congressman donalds, attorney general brnovich, thank you so much for being with us. let's turn to some breaking news. the cdc just announced it's cutting the recommended isolation time for those affected with covid-19 from ten days down to five days. this is the omicron variant. now being blamed for massive staffing shortages in businesses, hospitals, and airlines. sadly more than 800 flights canceled after 1500 were canceled on sunday. but dr. fauci believes masks on airplanes are effective and necessary and should be mandated indefinitely. maybe forever. in during one flight to atlanta, and unmasked woman assaulted an 80-year-old man for not wearing a mask while he was eating. watch this. >> mask up. mask up. >> [bleep] you, sir. >> absolutely, and i give cbs credit for covering it. although some of us have been writing about this for well over a year. this pandemic has caused a lot of collateral damage, economically, politically, culturally. but i think perhaps most significant is the impact that it's having on children, teenagers, and young people. there is a lot of mental health issues that have come up over the last two years since we have dealt with this pandemic. they bear the brunt of a lot of the ramifications of the school closures and the isolation from their friends and their teachers, and some cases their families. we have seen all kinds of mental health issues from depression, anxiety, isolation, suicidal ideation, suicide. we are seeing young people really feeling the effects of this. and a lot of people are talking about it now that the virus has weekend, we now have the vaccine since the therapeutics, and we are almost in a safer space for people to start talking about this. but the problem is that the damage is largely already done. >> gregg: let me get the doctor's point of view on this. doctor, we are seeing my kids with masks on in school all the time. they are eating meals outdoors in the cold. talk about the effects they have on kids. virtual learning, all in isolation, no socialization. what effect does it have on kids? >> first of all, completely unnecessary masking outdoors while eating completely unnecessary. the world health organization says no to masking these young children. the profound mental, psychological impact on the children doing this to them is astounding. like monica said, increase in suicidal ideation, increase of suicide among young girls. we see an increase in pediatric e.r. visits and drugs, alcohol, it's really heartbreaking. our priority should be number one keeping our kids in class and exhausting all resources to make sure that we do that. there are generations ahead of us in the decisions we make today will greatly impact them as far as their learning, their education, their mental well-being. that should be the top priority. >> gregg: monica, we all remember during the presidential campaign when joe biden said about donald trump. he said, "anybody who is for that many deaths should not remain as president." at the time, there was 220,000 covid deaths, but since joe biden took office, there have been more than 350,000 deaths, more people have died. so by joe biden's own logic, he shouldn't be president, should he? >> that's right. we should hold him to the standard that he laid out. what's interesting is we have had more deaths from covid this year when we've had the number of vaccines on the market and people getting their vaccines and their boosters. look, i think we are in a completely different place now. for the president today to claim that it's not a federal government response and it should go to the states when all of last year during the campaign, he was attacking president trump for not having a plan. president trump had a plan, it was called operation work speed and it was one of the greatest achievements of any president in american history. may be in world history. but joe biden comes in and clearly doesn't have a plan. from testing all the way down, he has been completely inapt. the statement today about there is no good federal response to this is basically an admission of his own incompetence. by the way, if he really believes that, there are some federal vaccine mandates going in for the supreme court if there is no federal response to this, then those vaccine mandates should be null and void. >> gregg: you know, doctor, i know you don't want into politics and this really does have sort of a scientific angle to it, but joe biden repeatedly blamed donald trump for of a covered desk. -- covid tests. he said if the president had done his job, all the people would still be alive. that's utter nonsense. would you agree that trump couldn't stop covid deaths anymore than joe biden could stop covid deaths? >> i would stay away from that. i've been telling people consistently that if your vaccinated and boosted and have a family setting in the home with family and relatives. what we are talking about is a new year's eve party, 30, 40, 50 people celebrating, you do not know the status of their vaccination, i would recommend strongly stay away from that this year. there will be other used to do that, but not this year. >> gregg: in fact, you should hide in the closet or go to the seller. covid-19 spiking around the country especially in new york and los angeles. dr. fauci wants you to live in abject fear. one local columnist in miami knows who to blame for all of days. florida governor ron desantis. the latest op-ed is titled "last lesson of 2021: omicron happens when we asked selfishly like governor desantis." here with reaction, byron donalds along with the arizona attorney general and senate candidate mark brnovich. thank you for being with us. congressman, joe biden says there is no federal solution. does he not remember a few months ago he said he had the federal solution and it was his federal nationwide vaccine mandate coupled with nationwide federal mask mandates. is this the guy who suffers from chronic amnesia because his brain is so addled? maybe it's both? >> i'm not sure what joe biden suffers from but it's clear that he is extremely incompetent and doesn't know what he's doing. this is the same person who said he had a plan but there is no monoclonal antibody treatments anywhere in the hospital in the northeast and being rationed right now because the administration did not plan. millions of americans are looking for tests or at home tests and there aren't any because we did not plan. at time after time after time, joe biden has failed. why are we surprised by this at this point, americo? we shouldn't be. compared to the beginning of the pandemic, there were no respirators and donald trump made sure they were there. there was no ppe, donald trump nature they were there. we were having a major supplying chain issue, donald trump nature didn't become a problem at the beginning of the pandemic. this is less for the american people to look at what's happening versus political talking points. the only person that had talking points has been joe biden. unfortunately we have to live with it. >> gregg: he had a lot of talking points, our attorney general, during the campaign. he had a plan, he had a solution and he said "i'm going to shut down the virus" and said it over and over again when he was inaugurated, he said the same thing i'm going to shut down the virus. isn't this the problem when politicians running for office make all kinds of wild promises they cannot possibly fulfill. when they fail, americans get angry and resentful about it, and politicians ratings tank. isn't that what happened here? >> i think you encapsulated that very well. the reason why they are sick and tired of politicians in d.c., they're so much hypocrisy and inconsistency. what breaks my heart, there was a time this country when the president said something you believed it and you knew it was the truth. but because people like joe biden and people's administration has been inconsistent and talking out of both sides of their mouth, they created more chaos when it comes to the pandemic and they try to exert unconstitutional powers they do not have. this country faced many processes in the past and they recognize and understand what's consistent about the country is the constitution. the federal government did not create the states and what works in manhattan, new york, may not work in manhattan, kansas, and isn't going to work in manhattan beach california. we have to recognize the system of federal that they recognize in times of crisis that's when we look to the constitution and rule of law more than ever. our constitution cannot be a mass distance and should never be canceled by president joe biden. >> gregg: i think joe biden sometimes believes americans are as stupid as he is. he said that if he had known about the winter surge, he would have made testing widespread readily available. in advance. but he was warned in the springtime by health officials that there was going to be a surge. they recommended millions of rapid tests. he was warned again in the fall. he was told we need 730 million rapid tests, he rejected the proposal. isn't he lying when he says nobody knew, fauci knew, cdc new, they are his science advisors, they told him. >> of course joe biden is lying, he's lying like he said nobody told him about afghanistan. it's a lie then and a line now. anybody with sense knows in the winter months any type of flu strain, influenza, covid, anything aerosolized is going to spread in the winter months in the northeast. it's happened every winter are basically in the history of mankind. the problem is we are dealing with an inapt president. this is the same person who is always failing, like i said a minute ago. why are we shocked at this point? the man doesn't know what he's doing. he's a failure. the american people need to do is we need to prepare for ourselves and we cannot rely on this president. we should never rely on government because government is too slow, not responsive enough, and not bright enough. we need to rely on ourselves and make sure we planned ahead, we need to do what's necessary late to take care of ourselves and our families. joe biden's not here to help you, folks, he will let you down every single time. >> gregg: i remember, attorney general, when joe biden the candidate scoffed at donald trump's prediction that in the springtime of this year, there would be vaccines readily available and distributed to americans. biden said nonsense, that's not going to happen. then when it happened, joe biden took credit for the vaccines as well as the distribution plan that donald trump had put in place. biden largely went along with it. as well as saying biden saying that he had no plan to deal with the vaccine, isn't that his real failure here? that he just never came up with a plan, he thought that the vaccine that trump had devised would solve everything. >> yeah, gregg, the one thing that has been consistent is the fact that everything that biden administration has touched has worked out very poorly. there's a whole saying about the failure to plan is the plan to fail. this country has faced pandemics before. this is something that we need to recognize that's happened before and depend on folks and leaders to make sure that they plan appropriately. big no mistake about it, we can't afford gas, we can't afford groceries, fuel costs are going through the roof. the biden administration is to blame for all of this. the enablers in congress is results of the policies, inflations going through the roof and there is no serious conversation about covid as a pandemic unless we talk about the epidemic at that biden created with fentanyl coming into the country, and think about this. and everybody watching it tonight, you're telling americans that you'll restrict our constitutional rights and we have to do xyz or testing nontesting, and allowing people to enter the entry illegally to fly all across the country and at taxpayers expense without being vaccinated and dropped off in cities at the dead of night without being tested. that underlies everything biden administration's doing and points out the abject hypocrisy and irrationality of what they are trying to do when it comes to the pandemic. >> gregg: congressman donalds, attorney general brnovich, thank you so much for being with us. let's turn to some breaking news. the cdc just announced it's cutting the recommended isolation time for those affected with covid-19 from ten days down to five days. this is the omicron variant. now being blamed for massive staffing shortages in businesses, hospitals, and airlines. sadly more than 800 flights canceled after 1500 were canceled on sunday. but dr. fauci believes masks on airplanes are effective and necessary and should be mandated indefinitely. maybe forever. in during one flight to atlanta, and unmasked woman assaulted an 80-year-old man for not wearing a mask while he was eating. watch this. >> mask up. mask up. >> [bleep] you, sir. [bleep]. [indistinct] >> gregg: it brings us to important issues surrounding mental health, lockdowns, remote learning, isolation causing serious issues. for many of americans especially children. surgeon general is now warning of a mental health epidemic for kids. in the meantime, one top health expert from brown university told fox news that school closures should not even be on the table. this week on cbs, a rare moment of clarity and honesty. watch this. >> i want to get to an underreported story. jan. >> for me, i mean come on my kids hear me rant about this every day so i might as well tell you. it's the crushing impact that are covid policies have had on young kids and children. by far, the least serious risks and serious illness, but even teenagers, you know, healthy teenager has a one in a million chance of getting and dying from covid which is way lower than dying in a car wreck. but they suffered and sacrificed the most, especially kids under represented, at risk communities. now we have the surgeon general saying there is a crisis among our kids. the risk of suicide attempts among girls now about 51% this year. >> gregg: joining now with reaction, fox news medical contributor dr. janette nesheiwat along with former attorney assistant secretary of treasury monica crowley. thank you for being with us. doctor, let me start with you and let me get your reaction to the latest information we are getting and the latest news alert from the cdc. people who tested positive only need to quarantine for 5 days if they are not showing any symptoms to wear a mask for another five days. you've been boosted and if you've been exposed, you do not need to isolate at all. what do you think that? >> i think it's a good idea because we need to get to the point, gregg, where we live with the virus and adapt to it. we can't live our lives surrounded and being ruled by the coronavirus. most people about their infectious one or two days before they develop symptoms and then three days after they develop symptoms. we have to take this into consideration. people want to get back into the workforce and they do not want to be sitting at home pretending. i have a lot of patients who feel better after three or four days. i have a lot of patients that have had no symptoms so it makes sense to shorten the quarantine period especially if you have tested negative and no symptoms, no fever, and you're feeling good. >> gregg: monica, we know that omicron is not as lethal as other strains, symptoms for most people seem to be mild. more than an a majority or a symptomatically, especially those who have been vaccinated and boosted. we are seeing the studies about the devastating impact, the deleterious effect on children is crushing them. the anxiety, the depression, is that not one of the underreported stories? >> absolutely, and i give cbs credit for covering it. although some of us have been writing about this for well over a year. this pandemic has caused a lot of collateral damage, economically, politically, culturally. but i think perhaps most significant is the impact that it's having on children, teenagers, and young people. there is a lot of mental health issues that have come up over the last two years since we have dealt with this pandemic. they bear the brunt of a lot of the ramifications of the school closures and the isolation from their friends and their teachers, and some cases their families. we have seen all kinds of mental health issues from depression, anxiety, isolation, suicidal ideation, suicide. we are seeing young people really feeling the effects of this. and a lot of people are talking about it now that the virus has weekend, we now have the vaccine since the therapeutics, and we are almost in a safer space for people to start talking about this. but the problem is that the damage is largely already done. >> gregg: let me get the doctor's point of view on this. doctor, we are seeing my kids with masks on in school all the time. they are eating meals outdoors in the cold. talk about the effects they have on kids. virtual learning, all in isolation, no socialization. what effect does it have on kids?
