those emotions didn't really flood out here onto the streets like some people expected as they braced for that verdict here in the kyle rittenhouse trial. and getting to what we know so far. so after more than 20 hours of deliberations behind those closed doors here in wisconsin the jury finding kyle rittenhouse not guilty on all five counts. the illinois teen now free after shooting three men killing two during the unrest following the police shooting of jacob blake in kenosha, wisconsin last summer. as each count was read rittenhouse breaking down in court grabbing his knees and the family very emotional. >> i looked at kyle and he looked at me and it was just one of those, you know, finally, finally. like kyle gets to start his life as a young man as an innocent, an acquitted, as a not guilty youngs man who clearly, clearly defended himself when he was attacked. thank god that the jury came to it and be they noticed. >> now the kyle rittenhouse defense team says putting the 18-year-old on the stand was a no-brainer giving rittenhouse the chance to explain that he felt his life was in danger, firing in self-defense. >> i just don't see that it was a case about self-defense. the right to protect ones self from, you know, mr. rosenbaum. i don't want to speak over the dead, but he wasn't a nice person, and everybody knows why. and a lot of that didn't come in front of the jury. >> so much information in this case. lots of videos. lots of pictures from that night in question. the 12-person jury deliberates for 20 hours looking at all of that evidence. two mistrial motions hanging over that high profile case. >> this needs to be looked at. the conduct of the prosecution in this case and the renarrating and the revisionist history as we went through this case was despicable and just horrendous. and, still, the jury came to the proper and the just verdict of a not guilty across the board. >> now, the prosecutor, thomas binger putting out this statement last night saying the jury, representing our community, has rendered its verdict in the kyle rittenhouse case. while we are disappointed with that verdict, it must be respected. we are grateful to the members of the jury for their diligent and thoughtful deliberations. the kenosha community has endured much over these past 15 months and yet reremain resilient and strong. we are asking that members of the community continue to express their feelings about this verdict in a civil and peaceful manner. also inside of that courtroom beside kyle rittenhouse's family was sitting behind him as he got so emotional grabbing his knees got emotional not breathing as they read off the five not guilty verdicts. the families of the two men killed two of the men out of three expressing deep frustrations into this justice system here in wisconsin. >> i don't think that any of us who were directly involved in what happened last year on the 25th are really that surprised. we know that this system is a failure. >> and we didn't see heavy police presence as you had all mentioned that there were protests that popped up in other areas. people in the community were bracing for possible protests and possible unrest. we didn't see any of that last night. just one person who was arrested here in front of the kenosha county courthouse were more quiet than we expected especially after everything we saw last summer. >> the kyle of kyle rittenhouse he want to move on by all means not celebrating. he wants to move forward with this and try to do the best he can with that back to you. will: thank you so much. rachel: thank you alexis. i'm not surprised there is no riots in kenosha. it's in the political interest of kenosha to make sure there was no riots. that was not the case for the governor and democratic party last year when he allowed this entire thing -- we wouldn't be here discussing any of this had kenosha been under control. the governor, governor evers was begged for help. the city of kenosha begged for help. the president of the united states donald trump at the time, begged to help kenosha. and tony evers said no because of political reasons. he allowed that city to burn and on day two things really erupted and he could have. he sent some troops. he sent some guardsmen but he sent more guardsmen to the nba finals in milwaukee than he did to kenosha when they were begging for help and everyone could see this could happen. will: i think what we have seen now, what we're learning is the power of lies. we saw a year ago the power of a fly burn down a city. and inflation to control the outcome of a jury trial. shockingly the lies have not stopped. the power of the lies continue to we would their influence. kamala harris took to the microphone yesterday and said i have been fighting for criminal justice reform for many decades, i guess, as a prosecutor in california. president joe biden at first said we will recognize the righteousness of a jury and the power of lies on social media ripped his backbone out and he then issued a statement tragedy of a jury verdict. lawrence, tucker carlson last night. lawrence: did a great job. will: lies illustrated in 12 rational people seeing what is an obvious truth that kyle rittenhouse should be acquitted because of self-defense. watch. >> kyle rittenhouse wound up on the street in kenosha in the first place with a gun for one reason. he was there because in the summer of 2020, the leadership of the democratic party, endorsed mob violence for political end. that's why there were riots in kenosha that night because people like kamala harris supported those riots. more than a year later as rittenhouse stood trial for murder, those very same people implied there would be more violence if he was acquitted. so imagine being a juror on that case, imagine the pressure and the fear. it would take eenormous moral courage to follow the today a logical conclusion. so much courage that at times we doubted it was even possible in a country as politicized as we are now in. as we learned today it is still possible, thank god. >> it is a message of hope, lawrence, that a jury could set aside the lies and find the moral courage to tell the truth. the message that is perhaps one pessimism realism should have never seen the light of day. we saw the prosecutor and president of the united states wield to thelies and threat of . lawrence: today i'm thankful that the media doesn't control the jury trial. i'm thankful that the court of public opinion doesn't control the jury trial. before the trial had started i thought kyle had did something wrong. part of the video was leaked and you saw some angles of it. the story that was told was much different. i was smart enough and i think reasonable enough not to comment publicly on something i didn't have all the facts with. so then i go into the trial and i see the evidence that is presented in court. and you just wonder how this ever made it to the courtroom. it was said to be a white supremacist. no evidence presented in court of the sort. it said he traveled across state lines with a gun there was no evidence presented to that. it was actually like 20 miles and he got the gun within kenosha. that these people were just innocent people and then you find out that they have this long criminal background molesting children and so on and so on. i just think that this is a moment in the country to take a deep breath. also, you know, if the movement is protesting yesterday night and plan on protesting tonight, there was something to protest against. and that was against that prosecution. for a while the movement has said there is these over zealous prosecutors that are there. we saw that. we saw abuse of power. we saw concealment of evidence. we saw the fact that they tried to hide two witnesses. we saw that they tried to evade and take away constitutional rights for people to plead the 5th and get legal counsel. there were so many abuses of power from the state. if you want something to protest, you had a moment to protest. we know, tucker is going to be having kyle for his first exclusive interview with tucker on monday. we will all be watching that so we can finally hear from him. rachel: absolutely. just a quick note on what you just said, i wonder how much of this decision has to do with where this -- where this trial took place. it took place in wisconsin where, by the way, there is a lot of common sense still left in wisconsin. and, also, the people of cocial and the jury pool was from that area is -- they slept with their guns by their side. they had to defend their own businesses. so, i think some of the lies that you talk about, will, were not able to permeate the lived experience as the left likes to say of the people of kersh. we're going to bring in greg jarrett, he is our fox news legal analyst as well as todd piro who we can't forget about him. both of them are here today. thank you so much. i'm going to start with you, todd. your thoughts? todd: will all week has been talking about the media as activists and no longer journalists. and lawrence said just a few moments ago he did not know that kyle rittenhouse was not a white supremacist going into the trial because that was what the media kept on talking about. and to take this one step further, when will, greg, and i were in law school, we knew there were liberals and there were conservatives. but we all agreed or at least i thought we all agreed on innocent until proven guilty. and beyond a reasonable doubt. but, it seems that the media, these days, along with the democratic party, including the president to an extent, until they issued that statement about juries and then retracted it yesterday, they want extra judicial factors to influence trials. and that is not how it works. it is -- it cannot work that way. and if you looked at twitter yesterday, you heard a number of people say well, the system worked because the system is racist. okay. find a different system. you want to do a system like we have in communist countries? maybe that's ultimately what they want? where the presumption of innocence isn't in reality. and you are guilty when you go into the courtroom and it's a sham trial and that's what happens. and that to me, is the big take away of this week and how concerning the vitriolic is from so many on the left. will gregg, it's time for accountability and time to hold lies to account. do you think as we move forward here that kyle rittenhouse has a credible defamation case either against individuals or corporations and the media? >> gregg: he does, he has a very strong case for defamation, libel and slander against everyone from members of the media who pronounced that he was a white supremacist, domestic terrorist, a mass murderer or just an outright murderer. including joe biden who as a white supremacist. look, defamation is a false statement of fact that damages someone's good name and reputation. rittenhouse is not a public figure, so the standard is negligence, not actual malice. moreover, biden's portrayal of rittenhouse as a white supremacist is an aan assertion of fact that can either be proved or disproved. there is no credible evidence he was a white supremacist. biden was a private system at the time. and he used this for political and commercial purposes which makes the plaintiff's case for defamation even stronger. will: real quick to follow up that point, gregg, you are distinguishing at home if someone is in office and figure you have immunity. joe biden said it when he was a private citizen therefore he is culpable. i'm sorry, lawrence, i would love to talk one legal question. you are pointing out a statement, gregg statement of fact. that should be distinguished from opinion. i was just giving my opinion that he was a white supremacist. how will that work as a defense if they were just giving their opinion? >> if you call somebody a vigilante, it's probably on the line of opinion. but a white supremacist? that's a incredibly injurious statement that can either be proved or disproved. that could be clearly, in my mind, defamation. there is also the tort of false light, really offensive statement that portrays somebody in a misleading or false light. and the standard there is also much less. reckless disregard. so i think against joe biden, especially against members of the media who put on a cavalcade of lies about rittenhouse, he has a strong case. lawrence: you know todd i want to go back to you and i want you to put on your legal hat. we found dr. demetrius was the jury consultant in this case. i remember when i was a private investigator for criminal defense we would have these mock trials and we would get as much opo on a jury and its makeup. how important was it to have kyle take the stand? they said they went back and forth with two juries and it was totally different when he took the stand. that's when they were able to win the jury. and, obviously, it worked in trial time as well. will: i think remarkably bold move from the defense especially since the evidence had been pro-defense. the key witness actually ended up key witness for the defense. you sort of were at that point in the lead and to then bring in kyle rittenhouse was a bold strategy but clearly it worked. this was a very genuine individual. i know folks like lebron james, jury consultant lebron james felt that the tears were fake. but those were real tears. nobody can conjure that up. this was a 17-year-old kid who wanted to be a paramedic not an actor. that was remarkably convincing. and if you looked into his eyes, which is the reason we need juries in buildings, not virtually, you could seat emotion in this young man's face. you could see self-defense pouring through him. and as a result, i think it was an open and shut case. but, to the point we have been making, it was very -- tucker made it, it was very, very difficult for this jury to ignore the extra judicial shenanigans that were so omnipresent during the last few weeks. lawrence: by the way the reaction was identical to i'm -- i'm sorry, rachel. rachel: that's okay. lawrence: reaction to the verdict. if you look at the same -- what's on your screen right now. i compared, i went back and forth. it is identical. you see his defense attorney tell him to calm down, to breathe, to breathe, as almost as if he has a panic attack. that happened when he was testifying as well. rachel: that's true. again, i do think it was a bold move. i think any time you put a 17-year-old, a teenager on the stand in this kind of a high pressure environment, it would be difficult to predict how it could go. it was a bold move. i think, the best witnesses are the witnesses that are -- or the witness telling the truth. i think the truth came through on his testimony, and i think he was very credible. greg, i want to ask you one last question. the former attorney for rittenhouse says that there should be disciplinary action against the prosecutor, do you agree? i do agree it's such a clubby group of people, judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys that occupy the courthouses i'm not optimistic that the prosecutor should be sanctions for four violations. they failed to turn over to the defense evidence that the law demands. second of all, they deliberately violated a court order, not to comment on a particular area. the defendant's previous statements about his gun. finally, they egregiously violated two sacred constitutional rights that the accused has the right to remain silent and the right to be present at trial to face his accusers. those are incredibly serious. but, you know, i'm just not optimistic that the judge will bring sanctions against the prosecutors or disciplinary proceedings recommended to the bar. will: gregg jarrett todd piro our attorneys on the call necessarily time to go through the curriculum every single day and because they were at home watching these things on zoom, that they saw this. i think it's deeper than that i think that whether it is the curriculum or them trying to use, you know, sesame street to try to lure your kids into getting a vaccine or if it's disney trying to say, you know, you can't get on your cruise unless you get the vaccine. it is a fact that these people think -- these kids are theirs. and i think it's problematic. but i think the election in loudoun county showed that the parents are taking their kids back that >> this is a model for the country. lawrence: the state of florida takes about 4 million of these containers a year filled with essential products and even christmas presents. but officials are saying they can take in more because they are nowhere near capacity the wait time in california for stores to get their products is about 20 days. what is the wait time in florida. >> there is zero wait time to offload your cargo here in florida. we don't have that problem. lawrence: you guys already have the infrastructure in place once it gets here you guys are ready to move. >> correct. we have done a lot of investments over the last decade to be able to bring these in. that includes the dock side capacity for these larger vessels. the cranes for the larger vessels. we are set to go on them. including the overpasses and the roadways and the rail connections to make them as well. we continue to invest in additional capacity not only for these vessels but hopeful for more vessels to come in. lawrence: is it a simple case to come to florida. >> yes. you would think it would be an easy one to do. it's a mindset change. everybody has been using that trade route in california for since the 1970s. it is beyond capacity there. i think the question that the present administration everybody needs to ask why are we dependent on two ports for california for 40% of the cargo going into the united states? you have to look at other ways to move it. lawrence: what is your message to those companies that want their customers to have their products by christmas? >> that's a good question. you know, it's the consumers and those businesses that are the ones struggling under this they unfortunately have limited control over where their product comes in at. what we want to tell them is, look, you need to tell those shipping lines that you are working with or whoever you are working with that florida is the place to bring that in so your product son shelves in time not only for this christmas but for future christmases. lawrence: so, guys, it takes about seven days to reroute the ship to get to florida. but the wait time in california is 20 days. it seems like a no-brainer. rachel: except unless the products you are trying to get into the country you want to get it into california, the west coast. it's a mindset. we're going to have somebody else on that i interviewed i asked the same question. why wouldn't people just go to florida? better business environment. they have the capacity. they said people just get stuck in their ways. if you have been shipping to california for 20 years, it's just hard to change your route. lawrence: it's the way they have always done business. will: good to see also solution-based solutions to our national problem. ron desantis here which happens to be a place where we can turn to many solutions these days. let's take those same lessons and apply them to our border. let's take those same lessons and apply them to covid, to shutdowns to lockdowns to masking. to our national health policy. let's get rid of these problem based, you know, problem based leaders and turn now to some solution based leaders. rachel: people like pete buttigieg who says the supply chain problem will end when the pandemic ends. that's a crazy thought from somebody who we knows wants to perpetuate the pandemic into eternity. there is absolutely solutions. and government touches the supply chain the many points and it looks like ron desantis wants to make sure government gets out of the way. lawrence: real leadership leading in multiple areas. will: put that graphic back up on the wall. rachel: we do love that graphic. will: it's wonderful. it's a gigantic lawrence. a gigantic picture of lawrence. lawrence: as if i'm not large in person. we the jury find the defendant kyle rittenhouse not guilty. lawrence: we go now to kenosha where alexis mcadams is live on the ground with more of that reaction. alexis? >> good morning. that's right. the community here in kenosha, wisconsin and communities all across the country were bracing for this verdict. more than 20 hours of deliberations waited to find out that kyle rittenhouse able to walk as a free man in kenosha. not a lot of action going on this morning. it's pretty quiet in front of the courthouse which is different than these past few days. after all of those hours of deliberations though, the jury finding kyle rittenhouse not guilty on all five counts. illinois teen now free after he shot three men last summer. killing two. during the unrest following the police shooting of jacob blake in kenosha. as each count was read, the family very emotional. the reince defense team telling us it was important to put the teen on the stand during this trial to give him a chance to explain how he felt and explain that he felt his life was in danger that night which is why he says he fired in self-defense. his defense team telling fox news that these past 15 months for kyle rittenhouse have been extremely emotional. >> is he in counseling for ptsd so he doesn't sleep at night. i think eventually some anonymity will come back to it i don't think he will continue to live in this area. i think it's too dangerous. he has had 24 hour security since this happened. >> and just minutes after that verdict was read, the rittenhouse family left kenosha. each count rittenhouse broke down in court. beaverly breathing as he stood in the courtroom as he learned his fate. >> finally, finally like kyle gets to start his life as a young man, as an innocent, as an acquitted, as a not guilty young man who clearly, clearly defended himself when he was attacked. thank god that the jury came to it and they noticed. >> now the prosecution releasing this statement saying in part, the jury representing our community has rendered its verdict in the kyle rittenhouse case. while we are disappointed with the verdict it must be respected. back out here in kenosha, i can tell you that the families of two of the men who were killed by kyle rittenhouse were also in court waiting to hear the verdict. and they were very upset with the outcome. >> i don't think that any of us who were directly involved in what happened last year on the 25th are really that surprised. we know that this system is a failure. >> wisconsin's governor releasing this statement overnight saying in part no ruling changes our reality in wisconsin that we have to work to forward equity accountability and justice. that communities across our states are demanding and deserve. also the white house responding to the kyle rittenhouse trial. listener. >> about the verdict and the verdict speaks for itself. as many you know i have spent a majority of my career working to make the criminal justice system more equitable and clearly there is a lot more work to do. >> and people on both sides calling for calm following that verdict coming out here in kenosha, wisconsin. we are hearing that there could be some marches this morning here in the area. buff the sheriff has told us over the past few days that he has been talking with people on both sides. they have lots of officials on stand by just in case. he doesn't believe they are going to be needed. being on the ground i can tell you really calm. even yesterday after that verdict was read the emotion in court did not flood outside here of the courthouse. i can tell you that the family of kyle rittenhouse says they are expecting to pursue legal action after this verdict came down. will there we go. rachel: alexis, thank you. let's bring in fox news contributor and constitutional expert jonathan turley. jonathan, what do you make of this verdict and should it fortify the way we feel about our justice system? >> well, you know, the jury here did exactly as it was designed. the jury is supposed to stand between the government and the citizens. between a mob and a defendant. they are tasked with doing dispassionate justice. that's what happened here. they spent a very long time deliberating. and they ended up acquitting on all counts. that was not a surprise. closing arguments i wrote a column sayings i thought this would either be a hung jury or acquittal because the case fell apart from the outset. i mean, the prosecution witnesses gave testimony for the defense. and ultimately i think that the prosecution had very little credibility with this jury. it said that the jury would see things that it didn't see. it said that it would show that rittenhouse chased rosenbaum down the street and shot him in the back. that was untrue. all of that stuff undermines the prosecution. so the outcome was not surprising. but what's trouble something that the verdict doesn't seem to matter. that you have leading politicians denouncing this verdict. and i'm not sure what they expected from this jury. the standard here is very clear. now, some of these politicians say we have to change self-defense law. all right. well, we will have that debate. but you can't expect a jury to ignore the existing law. and that's what they refuse to do. there was a reasonable doubt as to whether he was acting without disbelief that he would be harmed. he used force after he was attacked. a lot of those facts simply weren't reported in the coverage leading up to this trial. at least not in a full sense. lawrence: you know, professor, you are so right on that. i want to bring your attention to the prosecution. you talked about the way that they conducted themselves in this trial. they also changed the legal strategy mid trial, which is something i have never seen before. but as a criminal justice -- criminal defense attorney, can you talk about the violations of the coffin substitution that happened in the middle of this trial and what should be done to these prosecutors? i know that they have immunity, but this was something that civil issue will terrence have been complaining about for libertarians have been claims about and we saw it in the middle of this trial. >> i thought it was breathtaking when the prosecutor binger referred to the silence of the defendant my hair caught on fire as a criminal defense attorney. and the judge, of course, reacted you can't do that small exception force talking about the silence of a defendant before arrest. before miranda. what binger has been doing has been viewed as unconstitutional for decades. not just blunders but serious withholding of evidence. everything was provocational. they would get facts wrong. in some cases the prosecution seemed to be learning facts with the jury. all of it was just a very. lawrence: they ignored the court ruling as well. >> some aspects. lawrence: professor, they ignored court ruling of the judge gave specific instructions whatnot do and he just blew right through the judge and the judge as admonished him as well. >> i mean, the everyone was talking oh my gosh this judge got so upset. i have been in front of judges who would have just held the prosecutor in contempt. will: right. >> a lot of judges would have dismissed that trial. i think this judge wanted to go to verdict. ed to bring closure to the case. and ultimately the jury did precisely that. but, what's really, i think, alarming is how much has changed were this cases. there was a time when politicians uniformly almost like a mantra, the jury has spoken. we can disagree with it, but we have to respect it. instead you have president biden, when he was a candidate coming out within a one delve days calling the defendant a white supremacists. he came out after this verdict and said he was angry. those are things that just fueled the rage in our society. we have become a country addicted to rage. and, you know, you can't have doubt. you know, rage doesn't allow doubt. so you have all of these figures on television in the last 24 hours that's fueling this distemper in our country. will: we have become a country addicted to lies as well. the lies continue after the verdict. let's just take a look at a few. here is congresswoman cori bush. she says the judge, the jury, the defendant is white supremacy in action. the governor of california gavin newsom you can break the law carry around weapons built for a military shoot and kill and get away with it that's just the message we'll sent to armed vigilantes across the nation. former governor of new york andrew cuomo worth noting does not have governmental immunity for his words. today's verdict is a stain on the soul of america. i bring up immunity not for that specific statement by andrew cuomo, but to turn our attention to defamation. in your estimation, does kyle rittenhouse have a viable strong case for defamation against, i don't know, cnn, msnbc, multiple personalities and, perhaps, joe biden as a private citizen because his statement was made calling can rittenhouse a white supremacists before he was president of the united states? >> well, first of all, with regard to governor cuomo i suspects he wants impartial justice when he faces criminal charges. lawrence: that's exactly right. >> i doubt he would want this form of mob justice that he is advocating for applied to his own case. but, in terms of defamation, it's going to be challenging, people, i think, are saying that this is a led pipe case when people called rittenhouse a when white supremacists. that's not true. i mean, the thing is it's difficult to bring defamation case courts viewed -- those counts i would say were thrown out because courts view it as opinion. it's outrageous what president biden said was reckless and irresponsible. but courts give really wide berth to people commenting on cases of major public interest. now, that doesn't mean that there might not be defamation here. there is a lot of different statements that were made. and i certainly agree that he was really injured and treated unfairly by the media. but i don't want people to assume that this is going to be as easy as has been suggested. it's going to be a very difficult effort, at least with what's being called a white supremacist. there were other misfactual statements or false statements made that they can pursue. this is target rich environment because the media got this story so wrong. so i think they are going to have to filter through these and see what is actionable and what's not. he has 1 to 2 years, usually for a defamation case to bring it under the statute of limitation. will: sandman's case was scary enough to purr stew a settlement. whether can you win in a court of law and whether or not have a claim that the potential defendant says whoa we don't want to -- rachel: it didn't stop them from telling lies in this case. so, yeah. they made the payment to sandman but somehow didn't change their behavior. lawrence: good point. will: business built on lies. jonathan turley we would love to continue that conversation in more depth night about this in the netherlands erupted in riots this is over covid measures in that country. extreme lockdowns put into place and the people are not having it. the people of earth inner lands not having it meanwhile, austria are facing a huge surge in covid cases this at the same time announced the national lockdown and plan to mandate covid vaccinations. austria one of the countries who have said the lockdown is for the unvaccinated. done the segregation process there. rachel: meanwhile, some diplomats, u.s. diplomats are slamming the vaccination mandates via internal cable to the times of israel. they say although the department spends millions of dollars on mandatory training for its employees and other worldwide initiatives to promote diversity, equality, inclusion, antidiscrimination and anti-bullying and protection of personally you identifiable and health information. many of us are experiencing violations of these standards. and we are seeing that across the country. lawrence: that's right. rachel: not just at the state department, that those that are unvaccinated are facing discrimination. many of these people are unvaccinated as you know have natural immunities, but, regardless, you know, starting to see this segregation of our society into the vaxxed and unfaxed, the good, the bad the clean the unlien. this is dangerous, isn't it. >> it's dangerous on two levels. first of all, we don't want violence to happen on the street. but it's also, i'm very curious they are going to do since some of the people that are no longer going to be able to do their job is fired. fires all over new york and already rumored to be a fire station that could have gone to a location that they didn't make it there in time. police officers are leaving the job as well. so, you are going to have it on both ends. you have got people that are protesting, rioting and having their day. and then the people that are supposed to protect us from that aren't going to be able to do that. so we got ourselves in quite of a. will: let me add it up. we are going to have riots in this country spanning over the last year in response to covid mandates worldwide riots. let's go ahead and fire the police officers because they're unvaccinated and the fire department because they're unvaccinated. okay, okay. fire everyone who could potentially or good chunk of people who could respond to this. also going to pursue the effort that you are not allowed to defend yourself when it comes knocking at your door or attacks your person. then have politicians say if you do stand up for yourself you need to are up root the system of justice. if i just add it up, i'm just trying to figure out the only lesson we can come to is well what we are advocating for is destruction. the streets, the country and of you destruction is the end. lawrence: you really have your lawyer hat on today. you told that story. lawrence: you should have dunked it. will: two eyes can observe. rachel: there are some never before seen things that are happening in our country. and i think that's important to what you are talking about, will, is that we not normalize this. that's what i always tell my kids because they are young. and this is their first experience of america. i say to them this is not normal. we have never had our government telling us what to do with our bodies in terms of vaccines and putting medicine inside of our body. we have never had our government tell us that we can't go to church. we have never had our government tell us you can't go school or you have to put a mask on. these are very unusual times we're in. lawrence: unusual, not normal. turning now to your headlines. overnight police arrested and charged a 16-year-old boy who attempted -- with attempted murder after three students are shot outside a colorado high school. police say the shooting happened in the parking lot of hinckley high school in aurora. police are certaining for a more possible suspects. this comes just days after six teens were hurt in another shooting at a nearby park. police say it's unclear if the shootings are related. hbo host bill maher using final there is a lot of questions about that. >> yeah. so, i was there, i'm only 22. it was nothing like i have ever seen before in my life. it was like a third world country. the place was inflamed. governor tony evers did not send enough help to kenosha that night. and for three nights, actually he let the city burn. so people were left to fend for themselves. when i was there, i saw people with baseball bats and pistols and shotguns. anybody could have been kyle rittenhouse that night. in fact, when i went with my fiance, he was armed. everybody was armed. rachel: i didn't let you go to kenosha without him and without him armed. >> right. that's exactly right. it was crazy. >> what kind of parents would let you go to kenosha, that's what i don't get. we try to say no you can't go. rachel: if you are going to go you have got to take him and take a gun. go ahead. lawrence: can you talk about this trial and verdict? you used to be a prosecutor, so when you see some of the stuff that happened there, this should have never have gone? >> prosecutors have a wide range of discussion, we see gascon out in california not charging things we think clearly should be charged. department of justice, they have charged lawrence. rachel: it's early he is usually sleeping at this hour. >> they wouldn't charge eric holder when we held him in contempt of congress. this prosecutor didn't look at the facts. hid all the evidence. he saw the video. he actually charged this case had s. disgraceful number one. but sometimes prosecutors can be really weak. they can say listen, this is politically charged. i don't want to make the decision. let's just charge it and let the jury decide. well, we hire you to make the decision that's right on behalf of the community and he didn't do this. will: it should be pointed out the prosecutor that has rightfully, i think, drawn so much public ire is assistant district attorney binger in this case. he is not the one that made the choice to bring this to trial. this is a district attorney who knew this was a stinker in the beginning and pawned it off to his assistant because he didn't want to be in the spot charges, i will take it let's go. and the d.a. might have been okay you want to do it. i don't think the evidence is there we don't know that or the d.a. could have been like listen, it's a stinker, i'm not going to do it but you are because you work for me. we don't know how that broke out in the d.a.'s office. but, regardless there is stink on the whole d.a.'s office. and, again, the shady way that they handled the evidence pushing the envelope and breaking the envelope in many of the things they decided to try to admit was disgraceful. rachel: sean, you think about big stink on. how responsible is evers. >> this is what evita mentioned this was day number three you saw burning, rioting and looting. not enough cops. and this is southeast wisconsin pulling other counties to bring in more cops to try to help them out. but they didn't have the ability to contain the mob. contain the riots. they were trying to protect buildings which is what evita saw when she was there. they couldn't protect people. evers could have very easily sent in the national guard. i was talking to donald trump. and donald trump's team and he was beside himself calling in wisconsin going listen, if you don't have the guardsmen we will send our guardsmen in american community. and evers said no. the reason why he said no was listen, i want -- i'm okay with people's businesses burning, people getting hurt. because it's going to fall on donald trump. and there is an election coming. so if i can say that donald trump is causing riots and burning and looting in america, that's good politically. right now though he has called in the national guard. rachel: it's in his political interest now. >> election in one year. lawrence: that's a good point. i want to get your reaction to this the prosecutor when he was speaking to the jury almost made fun of the people that businesses that were looted. he said oh rioters, as someone there on the ground how did you feel about hearing the prosecution do that? why is she doing this? this is a mask mandate, okay, so she disagrees with it. why is she taking it to this level. >> i really don't know. i think [inaudible] she is also pretty nasty and there is a lot of other [inaudible] rachel: right. holly, i mean, again, a mask mandate, why is she bringing up white privilege? what does any of that have to do with it? >> i have no idea. [inaudible] rachel: carlos, you sit sit on that committee with norm marks the woman who doxxed all of these parents. what's going to happen on the committee and how do the other members of the committee feel about what she did? >> well, actually i left the committee this june. i was in it for four years and i left because of the practice of critical race theory, the toxic environment that they have created. so normal basically doxxed the parents and had this type of attitude anyone the left wing mob mentality. i have to say this. norma garcia-lopez the people from that committee that is a reflection of the poor leadership of superintendent. i have received emails from teachers being dehumanized by the conversation. parents have been doxxed. people have been bullied. it is a toxic environment. i was in it ever since i was 15 years old. i was appointed by the board president. i left this year and i have been exposing what's been happening and critical race theory. and have to be held accountable. rachel: kerry, what's the mood of all the other parents that you have been speaking to at the school. i know you were directly impacted by this doxxing. has it rallied other parents to say we have had enough and we want to take it back? (jackie) talk to your doctor about austedo...it's time to treat td. td is not ok. visit askforaustedo.com. lureps lawrence we begin with a fox news alert. protests erupt across the country as kyle rittenhouse found n ght on all counts. in new york demonstrators march across the brooklyn bridge blocking traffic. will: meanwhile in kenosha where the trial took place. one arrest is made more protests emotional verdict. >> as to the fifth count of the information gaige grosskreutz, we, the jury find the defendant kyle rittenhouse not guilty. rachel: alexis mcadams is on the ground live in kenosha with more on that reaction. alexis. >> good morning, a little bit more quiet than probably probably expected following that verdict here. some communities following the city of kenosha were bracing for possible unrest following this coming down to kyle rittenhouse not guilty on all counts. the teen being able to walk out of that courthouse behind me free. and it's as we mentioned pretty quiet out here this morning. this is more than two weeks of this trial here in kenosha, wisconsin. more than 20 hours of deliberations. the jury finding kyle rittenhouse not guilty on all five counts. the illinois teen now free after he shot three men, killing two during the unrest following the police shooting of jacob blake here in kenosha just last summer. now the wrowns family say the facts of this case all along proved that kyle rittenhouse was innocent from the beginning. >> i just don't see that it was a case about self-defense. the right to protect ones self mr. rosenbaum. i don't want to speak ill of the dead but he wasn't a nice person and a lot of people know why and a lot of that didn't come n front of the jury. >> rittenhouse breaking down sobbing as he stood in front of the judge waiting to learn his fate. the teen is now looking forward to moving on from this case but not celebrating because two lives were still lost that night. >> finally, finally, like kyle gets to start his life as a young man, as an innocent, as an acquitted, as a not guilty young man who clearly, clearly defended himself when he was attacked. thank god that the jury came through and they noticed. >> the 12-person jury deliberating for more than 20 hours. two mistrial motions were hanging over that high profile case. >> this needs to be looked at. the conduct of the prosecution in this case and the renarrating and the revisionist history as we went through this case was despicable. and just horrendous. and, still, the jury came to the proper and the just verdict of a not guilty across the board. >> now, we reached out to the prosecution in this case. it did not want to comment on camera but released this statement saying in part, the jury representing our community has rendered its verdict in the kyle rittenhouse case. while we are disappointed with the verdict it must be respected. we are grateful to the members of the jury for their diligent and thoughtful deliberations. back here in kenosha that courthouse behind me were full of lots of people who watching closely including kyle's two sisters and his mom who also broke down as they heard that verdict. the other people in the courtroom were not so happy and that includes the family members of the two men that kyle rittenhouse shot and killed that night. >> i think that any of us who were directly involved in what happened last year on the 25th are really that surprised. we know this system is a failure. >> has police in many cities across the country prepare for possible unrest following this verdict, president biden releasing this statement saying while the verdict in kenosha will leave many americans feeling an grill and concerned, myself included, we must acknowledge that the jury has spoken and the family feels that kyle rittenhouse himself slandered for months leading up to this verdict here. they are looking to pursue legal action at this point. we will continue to process that and check in with them. immediately after that verdict was read, kyle rittenhouse's family and security got out of kenosha because of major security concerns. rachel, will, lawrence? rachel: thank you, alexis. lawrence: lets' bring in drew hernandez journalist who testified at the rittenhouse trial. they tried to say you had prior connections to kyle. we want to get your reaction on the verdict and do you feel vindicated because of your eyewitness account? >> absolutely. 1 hearse%. i will say this. you know, watching kyle just buckle literally collapse, that was not some punk dhad realized he just got off the hook. that was a human being that understood that his life was literally on the line. that a lie was about to put him behind bars for the rest of his life. and you literally watched a human being experience freedom the entire weight of the world lifted off his shoulders because he was about to lose his freedom based on a lie. i mean, the fake news media cartel has been painting him to be this white supremacist that showed up to kenosha black shooter which is 1 hearse% false. that's not my opinion. i was there from night one. on night one rioters were taking bricks to police officers two nights before kyle showed up in coshocton. the rioters showed up with rifles. two nights before showed up to kenosha. the narrative has been spun because they criticized it because they wanted to lives of the united states of america to get them to riot like they have last night. it's a joke. will: follow up what lawrence said the prosecutor, your interaction with da binger one of the pelosi fascinating in trial. it was tense. it was tense as you satten the witness stand. i'm just curious. we saw it through the television screen. i'm not just talking about your interaction with binger but the entire atmosphere within the courtroom. could you tell me about that? could you read the jury as you sat in there? what was the atmosphere between you and binger and the entire courtroom all together? >> well, it was very tense. and i could definitely tell that binger himself saw me as a threat. and here's why. i'm not only an eyewitness news an eyewitness inthis trial and . i had over 100 body cam videos literally from that night that i documented that i submitted both to the defense and the prosecution to the state so that the jury could have the absolute truth and make a decision for themselves. that's why binger attempted to discredit me so many times and try to point out all these things that i'm biased and this and that to try to slander my credibility and assassinate my character on life tv. it obviously did not go well for him because when you are argue everything with the truth, it's not a good look for you. i will tell you this. every time i would mention or i under oath antifa, rioters, arsonists, looters, the prosecutors would just sit there, smirk, put their heads down and laugh at me as if i was telling a lie. i was not telling a lie. i have it all on footage. the footage itself is not biased. you could just watch it for yourself but it was very tense in the room because it's a very serious situation. i tried not to make any eye contact with kyle or the judicial release or anybody else. that was not, you know, talking to me directly when it had to do with my testimony. rachel: yeah, you know, there is no question in my mind that kyle rittenhouse would be behind bars right now were it not for video footage. you were one of several independent journalists who provided the video for this court case. where were all the other media outlets? i'm just really surprised this was left to independent journalists that was clear -- i was in wisconsin at the time, drew, so i knew that, you know, as everybody knew, that this was happening on -- you know, even before day one. then day one. where were the -- where was the national media? why was it left to people like you? >> well, let's remember. right now we were experiencing covid, the lockdowns last year. everyone was locked down. and people were being released from prison, criminals. people were stuck in their homes. and then the riots literally outbroke and people were fearing for their lives. and i can only speak for myself. i'm not quite too sure why the mainstream media refused to cover this accurately. but i think right now this is a testament just to how important honest journalism on the ground really is. this was corporate media versus independent media themselves. literally like the little guys like me. can you imagine if myself or other independent journalists that their footage was used in this trial. imagine if we were not there. rachel: exactly. >> do you know what would be the reality right now? kyle rittenhouse would be in prison right now if it weren't for on the ground journalists that were just trying to show the truth. listen, they have been trying to cover up the 2020 riots right when they started calling them mostly peaceful when cnn is standing there with a burning building behind them in the name of george floyd. they have been trying to cover this up from the very beginning and they are still trying to do it right now even as i speak. it's just a joke. they lie. they propagate. that's what they do. rachel: which is exactly why the media is melting down right now over the verdict. i want i to take a look at some of this footage. >> with a certain ideology may feel incentivized now. may feel even emboldeneds. >> to take from this verdict what they want and to use it as permission to attack black lives matter. >> are we safer after this verdict? i have been getting phone calls from people saying hey, drew, i had no idea that kyle did not shoot any black people. i will no idea. there are literally millions of people in this country that still believe right now that kyle rittenhouse was a white white supremacists showed up to kenosha to shoot black people. not true. charging him from behind. america can decide whether that's a psycho path and a threat or not. rachel: yeah, i have a lot of questions why that man was even on the streets. i mean you rape five young boys ages 5 to 11, i don't think you should see the light of day. you are right. it's not just people in our country who were mislead. lawrence: across the world. rachel: exactly in brazil and europe. people had to correct the record on their own newspapers. will: they were still lying as of evidence the independence out of u.k. reporting two black men killed by kyle rittenhouse. rachel: lots of people reporting that across the world. thanks for your work. lawrence: thanks, drew. will: thanks, drew. before we move on, i just want to say the other lie that sort of rose to the surface again yesterday this was an example of white privilege. if you ever wanted to see what white privilege was it was kyle rittenhouse getting off. this would never have happened a hypothetical put out by many, many commentators this never would have happened if black man in kyle rittenhouse shoes. gerald moore acquitted on self-defense charges out much georgia. jahlil installation, gentleman beer kennedy all acquitted on charges of murder for reason of self-defense. it's not hard. takes a little google search. you can find in the last couple of months of the hypothetical being put to the test in real life. it's just another lie. lawrence: also, let's not gloss over the fact a black man having a gun take away his gun going against the second amendment. black folks one of the number one buyers especially black women purchasing guns because of self-defense. not gloss over the fact that they want to take away the second amendment. the second amendment was on trial. self-defense was on trial. and i'm glad that the jury saw it for what it was. especially when the prosecutor was making fun of their communities when it was on fire. they did that in a trial amongst a jury, amongst his peers and they saw straight through it. rachel: i'm very proud of wisconsin today. those jurors were very brave. they knew what could happen if they told the truth. if they went and here we are. will: to lie to someone's face like that requires to you have a level of condescension and antipathy to the person you are lying to. so here is a great example of exactly that level of condescension and hatred towards anyone who is in pursuit of the truth. nbc news when it comes to critical race theory, this is an op-ed by christina weimann, schools face parents who want to ban critical race theory and don't get how the teaching works. here's what she said. part of the problem they think they have parents the right to control teaching and learning because their children are the ones being educated but it actually gasp doesn't work that way sort of like entering a surgical unit thinking you can interfear simply because the patient is your child. i think it just shows exactly what they think of you and your role in your child's life. lawrence: that's so condescending they think they are doctors as i said in the first hour. you are not a doctor. what the jurors are objecting to is indoctrination. they are the parents here. they also pay your bills, too. you know, this was a moments where the teachers, as well as the unions and all of those in this progressive world view could have, you know, taken a second to step back and revealed themselves assay, you know what? kenosha last summer. the facts of this case proved rittenhouse was incident from the beginning. >> i just don't see that there was a case about self-defense, the right to protect one's self from, you know, mr. rosenbaum. don't want to speak ill of the dead, but he wasn't a nice person, and everybody knows why. and a lot of that didn't come in front of the jury. >> reporter: very emotional inside of that courtroom. kyle rittenhouse learning his fate in front of the judge but also family members of the two men that were shot and killed were listening as well. this is one of their girlfriends. >> i don't think that any of us who were directly involved in what happened last year on the 25th are really that surprised. we know that this system is a failure. >> reporter: rate arenhouse breaking down in -- rittenhouse sobbing as he stood in front of the judge, learning his fate there. the family says the teen is looking forward to moving on but by no means celebrating because they know two lives were still lost. two motions for a mistrial hanging over the case. the family tells me the prosecution withheld evidence and improperly questioned rittenhouse. >> this needs to be looked at because of the prosecution in this case and the renarrating and the revisionist history as we went through this case was despicable and just horrendous. and still the jury came to the proper and the just verdict of a not guilty across the board. >> reporter: wisconsin's governor releasing this statement saying in part: no ruling changes our reality in wisconsin that we have to work toward equity, accountability and justice. that communities across our state are demanding and also deserve. and it's police in many cities across this nation and including in kenosha brace for possible unrest, >> i know this is going to sound harsh, but i think it's merited. president biden is a pathetic coward. he demonized a 17-year-old man calling him a white supremacist to score a cheap, disgusting, low political point. it does not even have the audacity to apologize to a teenager for whom he is responsible for ruining part of this young man's life. contrast that to president trump. i was in the white house with president trump when this happened. president trump said, you know, very even handedly to a question from a white house correspondent about does president trump stand by vigilantes, that's what the correspondents were doing, but he said very calmly the video seems to show that he was atacted, it seems to -- attacked, but there's an investigation underway. i think law enforcement should be the ones taking actions in the street, not americans, you know, obviously. rittenhouse, now we know he acted in self-defense. but you had a president who was even-handed. last point, lawrence, john cooper pointed out at 2:29 joe biden comes out and says the process works. 72 minutes later he says he's angry about the process. his handlers simply said you must continue to villainize this young man. i thought it was pathetic. lawrence: looks like his team may have backtrack thed. leo, you're a civil rights attorney. want to get your reaction to the aclu tweet. they said this: despite kyle rittenhouse's conscious decision to travel across state lines and injure one person and take the two lives of two people protesting in the shooting of jacob blake by police, he was not held responsible for his action. unfortunately, this is not surprising, end quote. what's your reaction to that? >> first of all, thanks, glad to be here with you, lawrence, and, of course, with kayleigh. the aclu's supposed to be a civil rights, constitutional, legal organization. kyle rittenhouse was fighting for his life. of he was fighting or if his constitutional rights, the right of the defendant. and you see a prosecutor, lawrence, in this courtroom, a prosecutor, try to take away his constitutional rights. his right to remain silent. his right to participate in the process under the fifth amendment. and then you had joe biden trying to poison the well by calling him a white supremacist. i am so sick and tired as a civil rights attorney that the left is looking at everything, everything every day as racist. it's wrong. the aclu used to fight for individual liberties and rights. they took a pass on this case for this young man. you know why, lawrence? because they're in bed with the democrats, with the left. and the left has basically ignored the truth. as a lawyer, as an american, i am so glad that the the legal system worked in favor of kyle rittenhouse. this young man should have never been charged, lawrence. lawrence: you know, kayleigh, i don't know the political ideology of kyle. i do know that there was an overzealous prosecutor that did not abide by the court order and tried to take away his constitutional rights to counsel or the right to remain silent, that violated court procedure on numerous amounts of time, that did not -- tried to withhold information and evidence from the defense. i mean, you would think this would be a slam dunk case for civil rights people that believe in equal justice under the law, right, kayleigh? >> you would think that, but they had a politicized prosecutor who shamefully acted in the behavior you just described. and meanwhile, an 18-year-old boy, his life hung on a series of what ifs. what if there was no video? what if you didn't have a witness admit on the stand that he put a gun in his face? what if there weren't citizen journalists out there taping? what if? meanwhile, you look at the mom and her face, the pain and anguish on that mom's face, and the what ifs were there because you had a media who demonized this young man, did not care about the facts, but he fit the profile of a leftist villain. and that is all they cared about. and that mom had to undergo this kyle rittenhouse -- we saw him collapse, we saw his visible pain and anguish because of a media and social media that had an agenda, and they manifested it and tried to ruin a young man's life. thank god that justice was served and he was declared innocent. lawrence: leo, we know why this happened. they needed this. kyle was a trump supporter. of he was the white supremacist. the narrative that the democrats needed going into the presidential race. >> lawrence, you're spot on on that comment. look, democrats pulled out everything. they sided with the rioters last year. they needed, basically, a pawn. kyle rate. enhouse was their pawn, among others. they would lie, they would cheat, they would do everything possible at expense of this young man. hopefully, and i hope the left heard this, that the legal system worked, the jury said we reject your lies and accusations, especially joy reid's. and this young man is going to walk. kyle rittenhouse is a free man. you know why, lawrence? that parents are now more likely to ten forward than they were, say, when you were getting those whispers? >> i think that's absolutely true for some parents. i think as we're seeing across the country parents are standing up. but i think tough like this does still make other parents afraid. look what happened to this family in texas of all places. i'm going to get killed in new york city if i speak up. and i think the key thing is you're never going to be quiet enough to not have this kind of attack happen to you. it didn't happen over critical race theory, over gender issues, it happened over masking. and i think parents need to know they need to stand up to their school boards, they need to speak up for their kids, and they really can't be quiet on some things hoping to avoid shaming or blame or this kind of thing. we need to stand together. rachel: yeah. we need to stand together, i think that's so important. when somebody does step forward9 and the mom comes after them, it's really important you really surround that person and support them because it can make you feel very alone. i've been, obviously, very encouraged by what you've done in loudoun county, what so many other parents are doing. the youngkin election was a sign parents could make a difference and take back their schools. my question to you is that what we're seeing so many of the problems in our schools are so systemic. is the the answer, i mean, it's great to take over the school board, but is the real answer in the state legislature and going for school choice so that the money is attached to the child and not to these corrupt systems? >> oh, absolutely. i mean, we have to realize that we have a national pandemic of another sort going on through our school systems right now. and, you know, the the issue on the doxxing was about masks, but in fort worth they have had a huge debate about critical race theory as well. there is a dad the who said he had a thousand soldiers to bring to oppose those parents who are challenging those ideas. and, you know, along with what keisha said about having, important to go on the offensive and what carol is saying about stand thing together, we have to investigate these school districts. and the state legislatures are really critical in this. as you know in texas, they're tried to ban critical race theory but, in fact, in fort worth they have spent $1.3 million on an organization, pacific educational group, in that has had this book called courageous conversations brought to the school district. and you have to wonder how does this kind of hate begin that allows for doxxing of others just for a different point of view? it's because in this book are the exercises that talk about separating people based on privilege, based on their skin color, teaching the idea that whiteness is a bad idea. and we have the receipts. these are the receipts. show clearly that critical race theory has been taught and the teaching goes from seminar after seminar. five-year programs, but guess what? if reading and math for third graders is abysmal there in fort worth. only 1 out of 3 students is at grade level. and that's the tragedy -- rachel: absolutely. >> and that's why we need parents to have more rights. rachel: any one of you can jump in on this question. i look at the work and the time that it took for you to foia and get these receipts and get this information. isn't it just easier if you can't afford it and there's a great private option or charter school just to take your kids there? it seems like a full-time job to get to the bottom of all this stuff. i mean, a lot of it is starting, you know, in the teachers' colleges. how do you take that on in i think we have to realize -- oh, i'm sorry. [laughter] i think we have to realize they might have the mob, but we have the moms and the movement. and we will do what's best for our children. and if that means pulling them out because you guys all know that i've call for a moss exodus which is -- mass exodus which is basically exercising more school choice, do it. because our children have to be prepared for the next levels of life. we cannot wait for the school board to be corrected even though that's manager that we have to do -- something that we have to do, but we need our children to be prepared, and they should not have to sit under this type of tyranny and have their information sent out into the public because the mob wants to go nuts. rachel: right. >> they might have the mob, but we have the movement. rachel: that's right. carol, really quickly, i don't have time for my kids to wait for the system to change. >> right. yeah, no, that's it. if you can get your kids out, i think we do need to abandon failed systems. i do feel very strongly that we can't really, you know, leave parents behind. so as you take your kids out of the system, you must agitate for school choice, for school vouchers. if you're lucky enough to be able to have an option for your children to put them in private or charter school, push for those same options for people who don't have the resources that you have. i think that's so important. i saw in new york city last year where parents just pulled kids and put hem in schools where schools were open and left their public school brethren behind in closed schools. i think it's wrong if you don't push for school choice and you have the option for that yourself. rachel: well, carol, asra, keisha, thank you for joining us this morning. >> thank you. >> have courage, everyone. rachel: happy thanksgiving, by the way.
