i don't understand the question. >> you're giving people who i'm greated here illegally money. >> like i said, that's the department of justice. you're going to have to ask them that question. maria: plus, joe biden's missteps making americans unsafe. from the wide open border to americans still trapped if afghanistan, decorated afghan vet and congressional hopeful, cory mills, just back from rescuing americans from behind enemy lines in afghanistan with more on the terrorism threat here at home. all that right here, right now, on sunday morning futures. ♪ maria: and first, this morning, the red wave, voters rejected the democrats' woke policies this week in a clean sweep of victories for republicans, from new york and new jersey, to minneapolis and virginia. i spoke with governor-elect t glenn youngkin after his victory in virginia. >> we brought together democrats, republicans, and independents, folks from all walks of life, around this fundamental desire for their children to have a great education and if we're going to prepare the workforce of the future for virginia, we're going to get our economy growing, virginia's economy has been stalled out. we're going to get it pouffing and the -- moving and the jobs of the future will require a whole new approach for k-12 education and the charter schools will be innovation charter schools, partnering with universities, we're going to partner with employers to make sure we have a curriculum that prepares our kids either for college or careers. maria: it was not just the governor, but you also took an incredible number of seats within the house in virginia. you also have this close race in new jersey. what do you think this says about the country? is there a shift going on? are people rejecting these woke policies? not just virginia, but beyond. >> well, just starting with virginia, maria, yeah, we took back our house of delegates. that was a big statement. and i think this just reflects the fact that the kitchen table issues of low taxes and great schools and safe communities. maria: yes, the red wave sparked nancy pelosi to finally unhook the infrastructure bill from the larger spending and tax social plan, enabling her to pull off a vote in the 11th hour on friday night, in a vote, 228-206, the house passed the $1 trillion infrastructure bill thanks to 13 republicans in the house and of course earlier 19 republicans in the senate. the bill now will head to president biden's desk on monday. >> the house of representatives passed an infrastructure investment and jobs act. that's a fancy way of saying a bipartisan infrastructure bill. a once in a generation investment that's going to create millions of jobs, modernizing our infrastructure, our roads, our bridges, our broadband, a whole range of things, to turn the climate crisis into an opportunity. maria: joining me to tell us exactly what is in the infrastructure bill and the fate of the biden economic agenda is wyoming senator, a member of gop senate leadership, john barrasso. senator, it's great to have you this morning. thanks so much for being here. >> thank you, maria. maria: assess what we're seeing right now, senator. we just saw this red wave. it doesn't feel like your colleagues on the left are believing it. they're still pushing through their larger spending plan and your colleagues in the gop passed that infrastructure plan. assess the situation for us. >> well, first, thanks, maria. it was a rejection election. voters overwhelmingly across the country rejected these radical policies of the democrats which have caused inflation rising, prices, open borders and now they want to raise taxes even higher. you would think this would be a wake-up call for the democrats. but they're still sleep-walking like zombies on this road to socialism and they've bloated up their bill, the $4 trillion reckless tax and spending bill, almost thumbing their noses at the vote he's who said stop and the democrats know this will make taxes go up, it's going to make the debt go up, it's going to make prices go up and maria, people across the country are fed up. maria: yeah. but do your republican colleagues get that, senator? you voted no on the infrastructure package but 13 of your colleagues voted yes and that pretty much opens the door for this larger social spending plan. i'm going to put on the screen your colleagues who voted yes for this infrastructure plan. why did you vote no? >> well, i voted no for a couple reasons. one is, i believe it's going to add hundreds of billions of dollars to the debt and deficit and there were energy parts of that bill that i think are going to make energy more expensive and at the same time make our grid less reliable. now, the concern is that they have for months linked these two bills together. that's been very clear. so i couldn't support it. what we need to do now is drive a stake through the heart of this $4 trillion tax and spending bill and to do that we're going to need help from joe manchin and from sinema because the democrats seem to be addicted to spending and to taxing. maria: yeah. i want to get into that build back better plan in a moment because we have a list of what's in it but first let's stay on energy for a moment because it is just beyond me why your colleagues would vote yes on infrastructure and enable this larger spending package to move forward. we know that there was not a penny in there for the border wall. the administration is mocking the united states by making believe there is not a crisis at the border and now talking about paying $450,000 per migrant, just the way jennifer granholm mocked the united states by laughing over energy prices. that is our energy secretary and she joined bloomberg television this week. let's take a look at that clip right here and get your reaction since you are so concerned about energy. watch this. >> in sturges, michigan, it's $2.89 a gallon. i guess that's better than in california. what is the granholm plan to increase oil production in america? [laughter] >> that is hilarious. maria: senator, do you think that is hilarious. >> it's no laughing matter when people are suffering and people have to decide whether to eat or heat their homes. joe biden and a large group of democrats from the house and the senate jetting off to europe to a climate conference, for what purpose? what did he do there? he pledged allegiance to the flag of the united nations instead of the flag of the united states. he basically apologized for america. he begged opec and putin to create more energy, to make more energy. and he promised to raise energy prices in america. we know why prices are high. biden, day number one, killed the keystone xl pipeline, he blocked oil and gas exploration, leasing opportunities in the rocky mountain west, big impact in my home state of wyoming, shut down alaska energy to the point that today we're using more oil from russia than we are from alaska and these guys are climate hypocrites. their carbon footprint for going to this conference was so much larger than vladimir putin's or president xi's of china because they stayed home. the american people deserve accountability of how much taxpayer dollars we as taxpayers paid for this effort of all of these liberal democrats to head to europe on the taxpayer dime. maria: you were demanding that accountability last week. i saw your tweets. you wanted to know how much this trip cost. we saw the 85 vehicle motorcade that biden had, driving through italy, before he got to glasgow. did you ever get your answer in terms of how much it cost? >> not yet. we know this conference is the most expensive climate conference in history and we're going to continue to bang on this administration and to get and demand answers. maria: so senator, there is a real disregard for taxpayer money in this administration. we see that over and over again with the $85 billion in weapons left on the ground in afghanistan, the $100 million in materials to build a wall left in texas and now the flights, secretly flying migrants to various secret airports, private airports across the country and now this plan to pay $450,000 per migrant. what are you going to do about it? and now they want to also spend all of this money and raise our taxes to pay for all of their wishes. >> well, you're absolutely right, because they bloated up their tax and spending spree now to $4 trillion. maria, i have a seven-page summary, single space, small type, of slush fund after slush fund, no respect as you point out for taxpayer dollars. so what are they going to do? well, they're going to super-size the irs, an army of irs agents to audit more people. the other day on the air you talked about how people tried to save money in the nest egg. this biden administration, the democrats, they want the eggs out of your nest. had they have five different programs in here to give money to illegal immigrants. you can go page by page, item and item, wasteful spending and regulations that are going to drive up the cost of energy for american families through the winter and into next year. people are facing more inflation. i think we're going to face the most expensive christmas ever and that's if you can even get gifts to arrive as a result of the gross mismanagement by this administration. no respect for taxpayer money. maria: absolutely. we're looking at some of their programs in this build back better plan. and we know that it's half a trillion dollars in climate initiatives and money for illegal migrants and felons eligible for $45,000 a year in government programs here. you're saying that since she got a vote on the infrastructure package, she's been fattening up the build back better plan, the spending plan. i know they want to get something done after veterans day. is that right? and tell me how the larger social spending plan has changed in the last week. >> well, they actually changed it right after this rejection election that occurred tuesday. they have basically -- they basically are in your face saying no -- this is it. nancy pelosi is going to be done as speaker. the squad has come out and said we know we're going to lose the majority in 2022. we don't care. we're going to go as far as we can to the radical left until you get a chance in the election of 2022 to throw us out. these are the sorts of things that they're proposing and moving forward so they started bloating this up, they were at 1.75, now they're over $4 trillion. that happened tuesday. and they want to come back before thanksgiving and try to cram this through at least through the house, it will then have to come to the senate and we're going to do everything we can to stop it dead in its tracks. maria: senator, do you think joe manchin will go along with it? he turned spite a tom clan sigh -- turned it into a tom clan dhs cy novel. what does the memo show. in january 2017 when they found the russian subsource who was in the united states, he disavoid the doseway as being reliable, the fbi knew it, did a 40 page memo but the fbi continued to lie to the court, getting new warrants based on the dossier in april and june of 2017, theft in -- after they knew it was a bunch of garbage. they continued to use it anyway. somebody needs to go to jail. maria: investigative journalist john solomon helped expose the truth about the russia gate hoax over the years. he is the editor in chief of just the news. he joins me now. good to see you this morning. thanks so much for being here. give us your reaction to the latest indictment. we're going to show it on the screen, this is the indictment of demchenko who we know made up many parts of that dossier. >> he did. in fact, the single most important line in the dossier that the fbi uses to get the original fisa warrant that there was a well-developed conspiracy, to work with russia to hijack the election, actually is a contrived statement. the indictment said demchenko made it up. he claims it came from the american russian chamber of commerce official. he never met that guy, never talked to the guy, made up the entire line that becomes probably the most important line in convincing a fisa court to give spy authority on the trump campaign. this was a case built upon lie upon lie upon lie and every time we get a new indictment we learn of new lies. it's remarkable. maria: yeah. and every week along the way s sunday morning futures was documenting the lies awell, in 2018 and a 2019, now we've got three indictments here, john. what do you think this tells us about where john durham is going next? you've got a great piece this morning in just the news, zeroing in on the fbi. >> there are two buckets that john durham has been focused on. one of the buckets were the last two indictment, did people around hillary clinton knowingly and willfully give false information to the fbi to cause them to proceed with the investigation, this where you get the sussman indictment, that's where you get the demchenko indictment this past a week. the separate bucket is focused on the fbi and did the fbi knowingly and willfully mislead the court and congress about the weaknesses be in their evidence or the lack of evidence or the serious problems that they were alerted to in this investigation and that part of the investigation is very active. thus far, we've had a single indictment there, a lawyer who interested a piece of evidence. but many other people are being examined at this moment. maria: yeah. i want to zero in on the fbi. we'll take a short break and then come back with what peter strzok and jim comey are saying about all of this now. stay with us, with more with john solomon when we come back. mind boggling. >> listen, pete strzok's opening electronic communication which starts the cross fire hurricane investigation states they are looking at whether individuals associated with the trump campaign were coordinating conspiring with russia. when they put the first fisa in, in october, the trump campaign is mentioned a dozen times in the first fisa and as i mentioned in the last segment, the allegation is a well developed conspiracy between individuals associated with the trump campaign and russia to hijack the election. of course it was about the campaign. pete strzok's own words said it was about the campaign. he was lying the other night. there's no other way to say it politely. maria: of course they continue to renew fisa warrants against the trump campaign and they based those warrants to wiretap people like carter page, based on that dossier which they knew was false and made up. so i ask you now, what do you think the indictments will look like in the future? do you think that john durham is going to indict people at high levels, big fish, within the fbi? >> there's no doubt there is activity inside the grand jury right now aimed at looking at top level officials of the fbi and it's based on this evidence. we all look at the fact that demchenko was interviewed by the fbi january 17 and disowned a lot of the things that was said to him. a lot of people said that should have been the point where the fbi stopped. but durham developed really significant evidence that red flags, the stop now warning signs go all the way back to august when bruce orr in 2016 came to the fbi and said christopher steele is dumping a dossier. he hates trump. he's hired by hillary clinton and most of the information is raw and uncorroborated. a month after the cia sends a warning to the fbi, this is something john ratcliffe declassified, saying hill run clinton is -- hillary clinton is trying to get out of her e-mail thing. all through the fall they keep a spreadsheet of what's right and wrong of the steele dossier. it's all wrong. can't cube prate, this is -- corroborate, they can't collaborate the information. i think that's where john durham's investigation is focused right now. maria: the next segment we are going to show the handwritten notes of john brennan and that ciol, that is the investigation from the cia, telling the fbi they need to investigate this. the problem is, that memo went to none other than peter strzok. so what did peter strzok do with it? that didn't get reported. that we find out that there was no collusion between trump and russia, that it was created by hillary clinton and a campaign in july of 2016, that the cia director, john brennan, that the fbi director comey and the president of the united states barack obama all knew about that. and was never brought to congress. who has withheld this information? credit to director ratcliffe for that transparency of releasing it to the house and senate. maria: that was gop house minority leader kevin mccarthy on this program back in october of 2020 after then director of national intelligence john ratcliffe declassified notes confirming had that the steele dossier was completely fabricated by hillary clinton's campaign. john ratcliffe, the man who exposed this and other russia lies, joins me right now. congressman, director, it's great to see you. thanks very much for being here and thank you for all of your work all of these geezer, john. , john.>> you as well, maria. i'm glad that the developments that have happened this week, that some of the american people are getting to see some of the information that i saw as the director of national intelligence, that was so important. maria: and it was so important for you to get this out. there is now a third indictment. we'll show the three indictments on the screen right now. and then i want to get into the two most important items that you declassified. you declassified these things before the election of 2020 and you also identified what specifically happened. let's talk about john durham's handwritten notes and what they say. this was one of the most important things that -- >> john brennan. maria: john brennan. john brennan's notes and they were handwritten notes. we're going to show them on the screen right now. tell me what they said. >> yes. start at the beginning. when we talked about this, i talked on this show with you about many things as a member of congress but when i became the director of national intelligence, i said listen, i want to see all of the intelligence about this supposed russian collusion and what i found was, and as you're finding out, there was of course no russian collusion between the trump campaign and russia but what i did see in intelligence documents, some of which i've now declassified, that there was collusion involving the clinton campaign and russians to create a dossier and so what john brennan's notes reveal is we talk about these indictments, demchenko is the third person to be criminally indicted in connection with the steele dossier for pedaling something that was known to be false to the fbi but what's important here is john brennan's own notes reflect and the other documents that a i declassified show that our intelligence community and our fbi knew this ahead of time, that hillary clinton, we had specific intelligence that hillary clinton was creating a plan to villify donald trump, tofalsely accuse him of ties to russia and the intelligence community knew about it and barack obama and joe biden were briefed in early august of 2016. and john solomon's earlier point was right. it should have stopped at that point. everything related to the steele dossier was known to be untrue but it was the predicate for moving forward with an unjust, unfair and ultimately now, everyone accepts, a criminal -- criminally negligent investigation against the trump campaign. it was a crime to investigate donald trump because there was no probable cause as fbi director christopher wray has admitted under oath. there was no probable cause for the fisa applications because they used the steele dossier and it was phony. maria: so to underline john brennan's notes, he has a -- he says there was an exchange and it shows us that hillary clinton has approved a plan concerning u.s. presidential candidate donald trump and russia and tying him to a scandal there. from then, then you have the cia telling the fbi, this is the second most important document that you declassified, and this is what's called the ciol, this is a counter intelligence operational lead. it's the cia telling the fbi we have this information, hillary has cooked up this plan against donald trump. you need to investigate it. tell me more. >> yeah. unfortunately what happened there. the cia because they can't use intelligence authorities under the law can't be used for domestic purposes and because this involves hillary clinton's campaign and people associated with this, a referral had to be made to the fbi. the referral went to disgraced fbi agent peter strzok who had just weeks before receiving that referral had sent text messages promising to f trump, to stop trump, to make sure trump would never become president. so as you said earlier, the person who was supposed to be investigating the fake steele dossier before john durham ever got involved was peter strzok and instead what he did was bury that part of it as related to hillary clinton and instead took a dossier that he knew to be false, used it to get a fisa application that he knew to be illegal and used it to perpetuate an investigation that went on for four years that misrepresented everything to the american people and that's why everyone associated with the steele dossier, with its creation, its peddling to the fbi and its use by law enforcement authorities against the trump campaign illegally is in criminal jeopardy right now. maria: so do you think that that is what john durham is looking at? do you think we will see -- >> i know that. maria: -- potential indictments,. >> i know that, maria. as you know, many of the documents that john durham is using are documents that i gave him. so i declassified the documents that we've talked about but i gave john durham over 1,000 other documents that have not yet been declassified that i know including intelligence that goes specifically to this criminal activity that would be the basis for further indictments and, again, what happened with the steele dossier, a grand jury is saying was criminal in nature and i expect that all of the folks that are
