saying we can't get stuff. our air pods are floating on a barge outside of long beach. but you see, we're being told this is a good thing. >> there are multiple issues that are impacting the supply chain and some of that is that as the economy has turned back on, more people had expendable income, wages to buy more goods, more people are buying more goods. people have started to also buy more things online than going into stores. so that is also impacting the volume and there is a need for more. [laughter] >> will: volume. it's good. more demand. we're being gaslit. that means lied. to say what is happening is good? everything is costs more no one is working at the mill chick-fil-a? even if it weren't good you get nothing and like it playing the role of judge smailes today though is the "the washington post." in an op-ed, the post says we have been, quote: spoiled and to, quote: keep those expectations reasonable. and in here we find the spirit of what is really happening. it's maybe less recent and less obvious. but it's not just our supply chain that's broken. our expectations of greatness and the american spirit are being systematically dismantled. america has always been a land of freedom. that teaches you that the sky is the limit. that you will succeed, or you will fail, based upon your ability and your effort. and every phrase of the sense that i just uttered has been smothered in a soft pillow of entitlement, victimhood and security. let's go through just three examples from just the last few days. number one, the chart on your screen shows you labor force participation over the last several years. it shows that today we sit at 61%. and that's the lowest in the last 20 years except for government enforced business shut down. during lockdown. a nation of wild tatters and entrepreneurs is sitting at home playing call of duty sustained by ayey drip of trillions in government spending. number two: education has morphed from setting children on a path of productivity and excellence into advocacy and victimhood. look, we wanted our kids to be like this. that man. now we want our kids to be like this: that man. that man, that child best hope, best case scenario is mediocrity ity. that's what the system intended. just last week new york city mayor bill de blasio intention to fulfill the far left dream of killing gifted and talented programs. this is after years of attempting to kill charter schools. anything that could possibly interrupt his pursuit offed me mediocrity for all. a country freedom mocks that very concept and looks to trade it for security. we have been pumped a steady diet of fear porn over a disease that 99.5% of people survive. but we have readily hidden our faces behind masks, we have hidden our children from school. and we have hidden away in our homes. we are not free. we are prisoners of a mass neurosis. and if we are being real, this was karl marx' dream. this is a life well-lived it described in the communist man nest toe. manifesto. life with hunting and fishing, utopia, how did that work out in the soviet union? expect less of yourself. expect less of mother russia. as congressman dan crenshaw on to that "the washington post" article telling us to expect less, he said don't rant about bread lines and famine. trier lowering your expectations. stalin, probably. how is it working out in america? are we living up to you topic dream? look at this chart. this is from five years ago where it shows more and more of this are taking antidepressant and psychiatric drugs. imagine what it looks like now five years later not to mention the legalization and increasing use of weed. now look at this, more and more of us are dying of drug overdoses up 30% in just one year alone. we're medicated, we are dying of drug overdoses and wait until the stats come in on suicide and how many of us are deciding we don't prefer this you topic vision of mediocrity for all. >> stats i'm showing you picture of america all more acute when it documents men. expect less of yourself. expect less of america. we are not just dismantling what made america great. we are not just dismant dismantling the supply chain. dismantling the american spirit and dismantling ourselves. joining me now is the host of "fearless" with jason whitlock. it's jason whitlock. jason, i'm always glad to talk to you. do you think we should expect this push forked me 00 credity? should we expect less from america? >> no, we shouldn't. everything you are talking about, will, is an explanation of the failure of men. and we -- men are failing because we are retreating from our duties and responsibilities we are retreating from god. as our country becomes more and more secular men are going to expect less of themselves. give less of themselves, live in more fear this is what happens when you remove faith from a culture. the culture then becomes controlled by fear. men become weak. women follow, and the nation becomes weak and people don't want to do anything. they feel a sense of entitlement. this isn't about going out and conquering the world anymore. this is about what the world can do for us. and it's -- i'm glad you are talking about it i'm glad you are exposing it my entire show fearless is about trying to inspire men to be fearless, to accept the responsibilities handed down to us from god in my opinion. even if you are nonbeliever. if you are someone without faith, just look at what's going on with this country once faith has been removed faith is now in retreat. no one can argue we are in a better place. there is less forgiveness in this world. there is more can cowlt. cancelculture. animus, division, all of that rises. >> will: jason, i wanted to talk to you about this issue because this is not simply a policy issue. this is cultural issue. this is a deep, deep level. role of faith in private and public life. and the role of masculinity. i once saw it said that hard times produce strong men. strong men produce good times and good times in turn produce soft men. we, as men, seem to have gotten soft and allowed this country to slip into this mediocrity. the loss of a meritocracy. a soft nation, jason. >> what has happened for those of us that have faith, we are being actually forced into the closet. we have to conceal who we are and what we believe because we have been painted as the worst people on the planet and anybody that espouses conservative biblical views, i'm not even talking about political, i'm talking about conservative biblical views, traditional views, taught to me in the church that my grandmother and mother raised me in, 25th street baptist church in indianapolis. i have to conceal those teachers in order to survive in this new secular culture we have created. i, the heterosexual christian black man have to live a closeted life because i don't fit in anywhere, same thing is going on with white guys of traditional views that want the responsibility of being men. want to be the responsibility of being leaders of families and communities. we have to fall back. we have to let women and people of alternative lifestyles be the leaders. they get to set the agenda for our neighborhoods, for our families, for our communities, and for the entire country. >> will: right. >> we have got to fall back. it's very cowardly. >> will: that's right. cowardly if you give in into a life of fear. fear of being called a racist. fear of covid, fear of explained by marxism or socialism? what is the idea that is poisoning this culture of excellence? >> i think there is several parasitic ideas. the one i call the granddaddy of parasitic ideas is post modernism. a movement that started in the universities about 40, 50 years ago. it purports that there are no objective truths. we are shackled by subjectivity, we are shackled by personal biases and therefore to speak about some universal truth is inappropriate according to that framework. can you imagine how antiscientific that is because it basically argues that my lived experience, my truth is just as good as any other truth. and, therefore, it's easy to then conclude that if downstream we have any differences between individuals, it can't be due to any universal differences amongst people, it must be because of some bigotry and therefore we must redress that bigotry through some intervention strategy. >> will: it's a problem not just for america, not a problem for just every one of us
