many people sick but being denied access to hospitals a woman holding her baby in front of me saying her baby is very sick and she's worried it's going to die so this problem is something they have never seen here. it is bigger than what was in 2019 and panama's president last week at the u.n. was sounding the alarm saying that he has seen the surge in panama and remember, the migrants come from colombia through panama up ultimately to our border, he said he's seen it go from 800 in january to 30,000 last month, right now, they're just bracing for this next wave. brian, ainsley, steve? steve: so griff if people there are complaining that they're sick, with covid or whatever, and there's no medical help, you're essentially at a super spreader event. griff: well, that is certainly what we saw arriving on our border and secretary mayorkas even acknowledging it, the question now is with even larger numbers on the way, it's not going to get better. now, there is no covid testing here. we can spin you over a little bit you can't really tell, but there's a tent over here, steve, where you see some folks in white, medical folks, and i asked them, are they testing for covid, they say no, but they are anyone that shows up says they're sick they are in some way sort of sorting them out but here's the problem. because they're backlogged with already 30,000 migrants, they confirm for us here in tapachula already and another 15,000 at least on the way there's no way they will get that under control. in the streets here in tapachula by the way they are offering some vaccines for local residents but those are both russian and chinese vaccines, there are no american vaccines down here. brian: they are terrible, though barely work so the remain in mexico policy does not exist for mexico, right? griff: that's correct, although, it is interesting. officials told us that they are starting to bus and fly some of the migrants back across from del rio making the migrants come back here to tapachula because the mexican government is making an effort to keep migrants down here south and off of our border that is something the mexican government has done, but the migrants are very frustrated because they can't find housing, jobs, or food, so they're not staying here and they're not going to be around long, when they know their ultimate goal is to get into the u.s.. ainsley: over we're sending you back, the borders are closed so why are we seeing hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants crossing over? >> because the message is sent. you know, look, when you pay people not to work you shouldn't be surprised when you can't find workers when you defund police you should in be surprised when you get more crime and when you send a message from the white house we'll stop building the wall and get rid of the remain in mexico policy you shouldn't be surprised when them come into the country, so we don't know where those haitian migrants are and now there are 15,000 more coming? this is the mess you have when you send the wrong messages from the white house and you implement the wrong policies, so here we go again. we actually had a briefing last week, ainsley, from the judiciary committee from the biden administration, and they actually told us, they said we think, because we basically asked, where are they? how many are in america? where are they at in the country , how many did you send back, they couldn't tell us the numbers but they also said we think a number of them have went back. i mean, they make this thousand mile treck and they are going to turnaround? they actually told us that so they have no idea how to handle this and when you send the wrong messages from the white house bad things happen. steve: well congressman, they don't want to give the number because half the country would like to see people come into the country immediately deported , and the other half of the country wants to have them all come on in. >> yeah, they just keep misleading the american people, but again, i think it's probably more than 15,000. some of the numbers they told us last week it's 20, 30,000 on this caravan this long march towards our southern border. it's probably a bigger number than even that, and my guess is the 15,000 that we heard about over the last couple weeks, that's probably a bigger number as well and when you think when the focus becomes one area, the area around the del rio bridge, all kinds of people are getting in, going around that area too, so we don't know about those individuals, who were in the country, so this is a total mess, and just nine months ago, just nine months ago, we had a secure border. this kind of chaos all unfolds in nine months and i've said this probably every interview in the last month. to raise the debt ceiling and we will not simultaneously fund the government, because it's going to run out of money at midnight on thursday. they did, the republicans did say we will do a clean resolution, where we fund government, and we pay for hurricane relief, but we're not going to go along with the debt ceiling. explain for folk, jim, why republicans say, we cannot allow the debt ceiling to be raised on our watch. >> yeah, because if you raise the debt ceiling you're allowing this $3.5 trillion with all of the bad policies in it to go forward, if they get the votes for it so we're like knowing that the debt ceiling is look, joe biden's in the white house, chuck schumer controls the senate, nancy pelosi controls the house of representatives. it has nothing to do with republicans. if you want to raise the debt ceiling and you can actually get the votes to do all the crazy spending you want to continue to do, that's on you guys. don't talk to republicans about that. and we will help them if it's just spending at the current level we could be helpful in that. we're not going to help increase spending. we're not going to help with this debt ceiling increase makes absolutely no sense, and frankly , the american people know that. they know that. that's why the democrats are trying to blame the republicans who don't control a darn thing in this town. brian: one thing is pretty clear, we're all embarrassed as a country the way we left afghanistan. embarrassed we left allies and citizens at home, they are still there, we left $85 billion worth of equipment still there and being resold, embarrassed we asked the taliban to watch our backs as we tried to get out of the airport. austin, mckenzie, and milley will be on capitol hill today and tomorrow. tell and his book? dr. fauci ever run for office? jim comey ever run for office? the idea these people who never put their name on a ballot are making decisions for the american people that is not how our system works. so the question i'd ask general milley is when did you run for office and make these kind of decisions when you can over rule basically the president of the united states? if this in fact happens overrule president trump? for goodness sakes that is so wrong, so inconsistent with our constitutional system. i hope those are the kind of questions that he gets and then, i would get into 13 service members gave their life for their country, one from the fourth district of ohio, americans left behind, allies left behind $85 billion of equipment and weapons left behind and joe biden, the commander-in-chief, calls that an extraordinary success? are you kidding me? so that's the kind of tone i'd take with general milley. i'm not on that committee but i'm sure some of my
