and it starts with copper, the mineral copper. there s copper in brass. there s copper in bronze. the statue of liberty is sheathed in a layer of copper. that s about the thickness of two pennies. pennies themselves used to be copper, but now they re just copper-covered zinc, which sort of seems sad. it makes financial sense, because copper over time became too valuable to use in something as cheap as a penny, because most of what we use copper for now is conducting electricity. we use copper for wiring. there is a massive global appetite for copper. and the world s largest producer of copper is an american company. it s a company that used to be based in new orleans but now the mining company freeport is based in phoenix, arizona. and the freeport mining company of phoenix, arizona, they do still mine copper in arizona and
they mine copper in new mexico and in colorado. but they are a gigantic firm. and they re a global operation. in south america, they mine copper in chile, ....

but let me tell you about something. i m against jews or anybody else who puts the interests of some other place over our own country. not opposed to all jews. something said, actually said in a senate debate stage in the year 2016. today s louisiana senate debate took place in an empty auditorium at a historically black college called dillard university in new orleans. students at dillard protested. there aren t arrests. some people were reportedly pepper sprayed by university police as they tried to protest outside the debate hall. but inside david duke assured us all he is not against all jews. happy 2016. that does it for us tonight. we will see you again tomorrow. now it s time for the last word with lawrence o donnell. good evening, lawrence. rachel, the debate was even worse than you presented. we re going to present i was going to use the word highlights. we re going to present excerpts of this debate, this david duke debate coming up. and he attached himself to ....

so we haven t had a chance to digest it. but the attorney general in his confirmation hearings was very clear with a one-word answer when asked by a senator whether he had contact with the russians in any way, shape, or form. he said no, period. no condition, no modification. so obviously that turns out to not be accurate there is no reason to believe that jeff sessions in the confirmation hearing was trying to hide something. he may simply have forgotten. but it does mean two things. number one, it adds to the incredible weight of evidence that the administration is not credible on these issues. remember a couple of weeks ago when we heard that michael flynn was talking to the russian ambassador simply to wish him merry christmas. and of course that turns out not to be true. and michael flynn is no longer national security adviser. so this white house has a very, very significant credibility problem. and it s with respect to attorney general sessions, what this means, and again, ....

another seems to open. enter, the new york times front page story of a secret plan by trump associates said to be backed by kremlin about the armed conflict with russian allied forces within its own borders. in other words, while the fbi s investigating an alleged back channel during the election between russia and the trump campaign, there may be another previously undisclosed back channel between russia and known trump associates. but before we dive into the times report, a little context. throughout the entire russia controversy, the president has repeatedly denied having any russian business ties. i own nothing in russia. i have no loans in russia. i don t have any deals in russia. russia is fake news. russia is fake news. but that s a relatively recent claim. in 2008, for instance, donald trump jr. told an interviewer, russians make up a pretty
disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets, say in dubai and certainly with our project in soho. we see a lot ....
