They careful what you wish for because sometimes it is going to come and bite you. That is effectively the defund of the police movement. They got what they wanted. What did they get . Rising crime, difficulty recruiting. Now they are waking up to the fact that our cities are unsafe. Tomi, what are your Top Line thoughts . Tomi while, i will tell you this, speaking from the Law Enforcement perspective, i have spoken with a lot around the country, and they tell me they are not afraid of the criminals, the felons here they are not afraid of the violence. The thing that they are most afraid of right now and it is only getting worse as the media. They tell me that is what makes their job most difficult because they want to protect and serve their communities. They want to do whats right. They want to proceed felons and criminals and make our streets safer, but they are so afraid of being caught on a cell phone video. They are so afraid of that court of public opinion, that they are not acting The Way that they should in no way that they would like to, protecting and defending their communities. They are still doing that, dont get me wrong, on a daily basis, doing the best that they can, but they do feel handcuffed, ironically, in a lot of ways because of the media. This is what is going on in our cities, those that have chosen to defund the police. Not only are pleased the marlins, but the citizens themselves, this cultural lawlessness. When you excuse this type of behavior for a year and a half, looting, rioting, violence and anger, when you start passing that off as just as any you have politicians and media figures that also pass it off as justice, there is a lack of consequences, so dont be surprised when you get crime spikes. Dont be surprised when you see people acting along leslie. Dont be surprised when you have thuggery rampant in the streets. The media, i believe, is the most to blame. Emily those videos are absolutely frightening. Charlie hurt, the Transit Agency here in new York City that oversees the Subway System, they are now allocating over 2 Million per month to pay private Security Guards to try to manage the violence happening in the Subway System again against the backdrop of defunding the police and against the backdrop of them having balanced their budgets, using covid to release funds. Charlie it is really astonishing, and it is a great example of why this is not something that should be politicized. The biggest problem here that we have is that as tomi just pointed out, the fact that you have the media. You have democrats who are looking at a situation, trying to politicize something that simply should not be politicized. Law and order, safety, basic personal safety is not or at least it should not be a political issue, and i would warn democrats if you want to make this a political issue, there is no more potent political issue than this, and when people feel like they are unsafe, they feel like their children are unsafe, going to school, they feel like their families are unsafe walking down the Street Or Riding on the subway or wherever, when people start to feel unsafe, that takes and it doesnt matter what they are sort of political way is in other areas. Suddenly, when they become personal security motors, they vote overwhelmingly away from what democrats are talking about right now, and that means it runs them into the arms of republicans, so i would caution democrats politicians and the media, which is overwhelmingly sort of liberal, to be very careful about this because i think i think you are right. Be careful of what you ask for because if you get it, you are probably not going to like the result. Because 40 of democrats in new york say hey, crime is one of my top issues. It is a major concern. That is nationwide. The same trend. Voters rank it as a top issue, and now there is a special election for a congressional seat. They have seen murder is double in the first five months of 2020, and with that, you have a candidate that is 23 for biden, running on the issue of crime. What we are seeing in albuquerque and the special election race, it would be played out all across the country. Beyond mexico city. Harris just to further the point, you mentioned andrew yang. Eric adams, also a former republican, now a democrat. And a former cop in new York City. So youve got two people running as democrats now who are saying not defund, fund. Hire more. That is because i have had so many for a while, new York City nypd was leaving the country in the rate of suicides among officers. It is not that the rate necessarily has gone down. Its just that the rate has gone up in other areas of the country. The morale, the Crushing Morale that officers who are trying to serve our feeling with no support. Hate seems to be at the crux of this, right . People want to hate the police. I dont understand that. And the police are having to show up here look at san francisco, right . California, your home. The asian community has had to come to its own defense with the bright yellow and gold jackets to let people know that they are going to protect against antiasian hate. Youve got things happening across the country. You need police. But it is all driven by hate. I dont understand. How can you hate Law Enforcement . There are people who need to be, you know, dealt with. There are people in every corporation, every business i need to be dealt with, but you cant live in a society without law and order. You dont want to be there. People are leaving other countries to come here to get away from that sort of thing. Tomi exactly. Defund the police, and what is happening here in new York City, the Subway Authority is going out and saying lets hire private security. We have defunded the police, so lets get private security to stand in as police officers. Emily and i think it is interesting, we talk about the mayoral race. We have some who are calling for restoring funding to the police, and we have still some calling for only community policing. Harris well, the woke crowd, i am not saying that they are not a lot of those people here in new York City, but what will they all be saying as the city devolves into what we keep seeing on videos . How long do they have to go on, saying when are our Community Leaders and elected officials going to do something about the brutal attacks that are occurring every day and all of these cities . It blew my mind that there was such a departure from the birth of the movement that this organization was supposed to represent, that they wouldnt even communicate with the mothers and the fathers of people who have lost their lives at the hands of an issue that this, again, organization was supposed to represent. Kayleigh charlie, the fact that the Texas Bill expands early voting hours, the fact that it doesnt ban male and voting. It just makes you put in a request for an absentee ballot. Lay out for us the fact versus fiction. Charlie it is truly incredible. I can never figure out if Beto Orourke is more dumb or dishonest, but either way, it is not good. The idea that he would try to compare things like Jim Crow Laws to the idea that we would have voter i. D. At polls, ensure the integrity of elections is just astonishing. It shows not only complete ignorance of history, but also a real disregard for what those horrible laws really were back in jim crow. And its a cavalier Ignorance And Dishonesty on his part. But the truth of the matter is these are important. Election integrity, they were a few things that are more important. It shouldnt be politicized. We have talked about crime. We have talked about race. We have talked about the police. We have talked about elections. And you have politicians in this country today, they are trying to politicize and racialized all of these things that shouldnt be these are not things that we should be first and foremost, should be talking about politics right now. We should be talking about real threats to the country like illegal immigration and china. Why are we talking about these things . We are talking about them because democrats dont have answers to these real problems, and they dont want to talk about them. Kayleigh is tomi, democrats are going to great lengths to stop this.
